Majestic Dinosaur

YÁN MÙCHŪN
Basics

Name: Yán Mùchūn / 言暮春
Gender: Male
Age: 27

Appearance

Height: 5'7/174 cm
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Description: As someone who prefers to sit and enjoy a good cup of tea rather than practice martial arts, Yán Mùchūn does not strike an imposing figure with his thin frame. Despite his humble mannerisms and being a self-proclaimed "run-of-the-mill commoner," he always holds himself with a dignified air that seemingly points to the contrary.

Personality

Some would call Yán Mùchūn a kind man. Some others may call him an overly trusting fool. A few may even consider him a man with no principles. Whatever Yán Mùchūn may be, one fact is clear: he treats all of his guests with the same respect and courtesy, whether they'd be a benevolent hero or a wicked murderer. Nevertheless, it's clear that he has his secrets. He speaks little of himself, almost never sharing more than the fact that he was orphaned years ago. Whenever a wandering traveler stumbles upon his home, he always requests them to never tell others about him or his abode. While Yán Mùchūn's candid smiles and honest gaze are enough to convince even the most suspicious vagrants that he holds no ulterior motives in his indiscriminate hospitality, one cannot help but wonder what he is hiding beneath the surface.

PUYANG ZI
Basics

Name: Puyang Zi / 濮陽紫
Gender: Male
Age: 28

Appearance

Height: 5'5/170 cm
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Black
Description: Despite his delicate features, Puyang Zi's lean and toned body are indicator enough that he is a dedicated martial artist. His movements, both in a battle and in his everyday life, ever exude a certain grace.

In-Depth

Personality:
Puyang Zi's ever-present stony expression belies a gentle temperament. Much like Yan Muchun, he affords all guests with the same courtesy despite being a man of a few words. Unlike the latter, however, Puyang Zi is less inclined to keeping secrets, and freely shares about his own past if probed. His placid and calming nature also serves as a steadying presence to both Yan Muchun and any unruly visitors.

History:
To those who are curious enough to inquire, Puyang Zi would reveal a story that was fairly commonplace in the jianghu: he was the son of an accomplished martial artist, and Yan Muchun's family once provided succor and refuge to them during their moment of need. In return, the mother and son offered their skills and services as bodyguards. Even with Puyang Zi and Yan Muchun's parents both gone, the former continues to serve the young master with unfailing loyalty.

Combat:
Weapon of Choice: Some may be surprised to find out that Puyang Zi is adept in the blade, a weapon commonly considered to be more brutish than the sword. While his neili is average at best, Puyang Zi more than makes up for it with the skillful wielding of his trusty blade.

Qinggong: Puyang Zi's greatest strength perhaps lies in his incredible qinggong, which allows him to cover miles in a matter of minutes. By incorporating qinggong techniques into his fighting styles, he is capable of pulling off unexpected attacks on even the toughest of enemies.

QINGTIAN SECT

A Brief History...

Members of the Qingtian Sect are often considered to be just as frigid and unapproachable as the peak of the mountain on which their headquarters lie. They are nevertheless considered to be the epitome of honorable martial artists who defend the weak and punish the evil. Due to the strength and unwavering character of its members, the Qingtian Sect has risen to a prominent and revered position in the jianghu.

Alas, whispers of turmoil within the sect in recent years have reached the ears of many. These rumors started not long after the untimely death of the previous sect leader, Fu Ren. The newly appointed leader, Jiang Wunian, is an amicable and generous woman who seems intent on turning the sect’s frosty reputation on its head. In the fifteen years that she has been in power, she has spared no efforts in befriending distinguished figures in the jianghu and building alliances with other righteous syndicates. She has also relaxed the qualifications required for newcomers to join the sect, resulting in a mass of up-and-coming martial artists to brave the perilous journey up the Mount Qingtian.

While Jiang Wunian has garnered a positive reputation among other sects and outside martial artists, many within the Qingtian Sect believe that her new policies have caused its members to grow lax and shirk their foremost duty of aiding those in need. There have even been talks of a growing faction dedicated to opposing Jiang Wunian’s leadership and returning to their old ways.

With the Qingtian Sect being both at the center of recent gossip in the jianghu and the destination of Yan Muchun’s journey, one cannot help but wonder if this is truly a mere coincidence…
