well....it was, but let’s just say a lot of communities have become corrupt and abusive, the thing is basically 4chan/reddit (And not the good parts)

I've noticed the scarcity of structured roleplay on the website. It used to be much better in 2017 or even further back, but as the comment above had already said, Amino has a problem with its user base. Members and staff in the communities become abusive, corrupt and you're likely to find more disrespect on the app than anything else. It's an application that has damaged a lot of young people and many, including myself, regret ever using the app.
