In the year 2008 it began. World war 3. Countries took sides and began to wage war against one another. Old alliances failed and the world was under threat of nuclear war. However something strange happened , the world was struck with a pulse from deep space in 2009 that caused all nuclear material on earth to loose its nuclear energy and radioactivity. This pulse generated mixed feelings. Sure there were no nukes which made everyone feel better, but all of the worlds nuclear reactors simultaneously were rendered dormant. Energy became scarce and the world dived deeper into warfare.
That was what spurred the american government to shift directions, hoping that genetics would be the answer to the war. They hoped to create super soldiers that could win the. Thus began the alpha project. People were offered financial Security for their families, Medical and dental for life, government benifits for themselves and their loved ones and a pretty hefty retainer of 10,000,000 dollars each. The catch was they wernt allowed out of the facility once the expiriments had begun. The program was finally launched in 2010 with over 5,000 volunteers.
8 years later in 2018 and much progress has been made at a heavy cost. The 5000 initial volenteera have droped to just 25. The rest either died due to the rigorous program, natural causes, or suicide in some cases. The remaining 25 have been called a roaring success demonstrating abilities far beyond the expectations of their benefactors. The final preparations are being made to deploy these super soldiers into the warzone but can they end the war? That my friends is the million dollar question.
