Alex's characters

Gobbo

Tactical Goat
WIP (I'll finish/modify this later when I'm not exhausted. XD)

Hero/villain name: Servo
civilian identity: Jason Callahan
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Eye color: N/A
Hair color: N/A
Occupation (outside of superheroing or villaining): "Uh... I can't exactly work at Starbucks looking like this..."

Powers: Heightened Vision: Because of the optical array Jason had installed, he now has access to night, thermal, and telescopic vision types.

Heightened reflexes: Due to his new body, Jason is able to react much quicker than he could before. He can't quite dodge bullets, but he can certainly dodge a punch. (If he's paying attention.)

Enhanced Movement: Jason is capable of jumping long distances, climbing difficult surfaces, and landing from tremendous height without incurring severe damage. Without the pesky nuisance of muscles and tendons getting in the way, he is able to fold himself into small spaces and move where most others can't. He uses this to his advantage as often as he is able.

Adaptive Ability: Through the use of the internet and personal experience, Jason is able to learn new skills at a rapid rate. Because of the learning algorithms he wrote, he is also able to understand and speak most of Earth's more common languages.

Weaknesses:

EMP:
Jason is susceptible to electromagnetic pulses. Though he built a Faraday cage around the CPU, the other components can be disabled temporarily or fried completely with electromagnetic pulses.

Bleeding Effect: As his consciousness isn't meant to exist inside a machine, Jason will occasionally have bouts where the robot body's programming sees Jason as a rogue piece of code and tries to override it. Because of this, he'll occasionally 'lose' himself, reverting to a cold, mechanical personality that conflicts with who he really is.

Outside Influence: Because he never focused heavily on safeguards or firewalls, he has to make a conscious effort to fight back against anyone trying to control him remotely.

Power Cells: Though the power cells he used have a decently long lifespan, Jason has to make sure to recharge fairly often. If he goes without a charge for more than a few days, he loses the ability to function.

Skills and abilities (this anyone can learn without powers):

Coding:
Being a techie to the core, Jason has taught himself several coding languages. Because of this, he is able to decipher and reprogram many different systems he comes across.

Engineering: Jason has an innate knowledge of mechanical concepts, and often spends his spare time building and tinkering with various projects, though he has issues finishing many of them.

Useless Knowledge: Having spent most of his time when not at school by himself, Jason has a wealth of knowlege of video games, movies, and books. None of it is really useful, but that doesn't stop him from spouting off tidbits every once in a while in an awkward attempt to fit in with others.

Weapons:
Improvised Stun: Jason never designed his robot to be equipped with weapons, but found that he could send a surge of electricity to his hands to incapacitate an opponent.

Equipment:
Drone: A simple surveillance drone he built, prior to constructing the 01-series chassis.

Hero/villain Appearance (description or picture):
long_16.jpg
Civilian appearance (description or picture): (Same as above, it's not like he can go back to his old body.)

Personality:
Jason can be described, in a word, as shy. Having never had to deal with people for extended periods, he never quite developed the same social skills as others in his age group. Though, beneath that quiet exterior lies a mind like a steel trap, and a fierce sense of determination.

He's kind, almost to a fault, and will often disregard his own safety to protect others. He's also easily taken advantage of, because of his overly trusting personality. He has a lot to learn about the world, and though he tries his best sometimes it's not enough. However, he's just as stubborn as he is naive, and doesn't often back down from a challenge.

History:
Jason Callahan was born to Daniel and Lily Callahan on June 15th, 1998. He was raised in the 'poor' part of Centurion City, though he honestly didn't see much of it. His parents insisted on him being homeschooled, as they didn't trust either the school system or the city with all of the super activity going on. Jason didn't have much of a say in this, and spent most of his early years in his room.

At the age of ten, his father got him his first robotics kit. He had already showed a great aptitude in math at that point, and little did his father know that the kit was the push that Jason needed to dive headlong into programming and robotics. Within two years he had revamped his entire room, and often spent more time sitting at his workbench than doing other important things like eating, or sleeping.

What had begun as a hobby turned into an obsession, and if he had any social life at all it soon vanished. Each new project brought up new problems, which meant new chances to learn. As the years went by, his parents grew more and more concerned, but honestly didn't know how to handle their son's new obsession. They simply continued giving him his allowance, and tolerated every time a new box was dropped off by the postman.

By the time he hit adulthood, he was well into his masterpiece, his best project to date- The 01-series Chassis.
It was going to be his entry, his proof that he was a capable engineer to try and land a job to finally leave his parent's house. It had become a point of obssession, losing many night's sleep as he worked on it. Several years passed, and by the time he hit his 20th birthday it was nearing completion.

The night he finally tested his creation, it was raining. A serious thunderstorm had come over Centurion City, though all warnings of blackouts and power surges went ignored. He worked quickly, his fingers cramping from writing the last few hundred lines of code needed. As he went to initiate his creation for the first time, a bolt of lightning overloaded the power grid, sending a massive shock through his body.

As he regained consciousness, the first thing Jason noticed was the fact that his fingers didn't hurt. Nothing did, in fact he couldn't feel anything. The second thing he noticed, and most shockingly, was the fact that he saw himself crumpled in a heap on the floor. Through some freak accident, his consciousness was transferred to the 01. Panic and fear immediately set in, and as he saw his body breathe its last breath he ran. He burst out of his window and ran off into the city, to hopefully find a place to gather his thoughts.

A few weeks later, he came to terms with what had happened. He hid out in an abandoned house in the poor district, coming to grips with his new body. As time passed, he soon came to the realization that, though he didn't understand the circumstances, this new body suited him well. He was closer to technology now than he ever dreamed, and soon he simply saw this as a new challenge, another hurdle to overcome.

This is very much approved. I like it. You should join the New Legends. Your character would make a great foil to my character. Both have above average intelligence with contrasting personalities. But I'm not one to tell you what to do. Anyway, have any ideas for what to name your solo series.

Awesome, thanks! :D I think it'd be interesting to have him be part of the New Legends, especially considering when he's introduced he's not going to have any aspirations of being a superhero. (Not yet, anyways.) :P It'll be interesting to see someone with his personality suddenly thrust into the responsibility of protecting the city, especially considering he has just about nothing in the way of weapons and no experience to speak of.

How about Servo: Rebirth for the title?

Sounds good.

Hero/villain name: Ronin
civilian identity: Keiichi Hattori
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: Blue
Occupation (outside of superheroing or villaining): None

Powers:
Healing Factor: Keiichi, when he hit his early teens, developed a mutation that caused his body to heal at an unnaturally fast pace. He can heal from superficial cuts and flesh wounds in minutes, and even devastating wounds aren't exactly life-threatening. It just takes much longer for him to heal from something that would kill a normal human.

Weaknesses:
Ego: Keiichi suffers from an over-inflated ego, partially due to his cybernetic enhancements. Mostly it's from his heritage and the fact that he can wield the legendary blade Muramasa without injury. If an opponent can hold their own against him, it's guaranteed that he'll end up going into a fit of rage in an attempt to kill them.

EMP: Though his cybernetics are partially shielded, because his body is 60% cybernetic an EMP can slow him down and incapacitate him.

Loyalty: Keiichi is unerringly loyal to Sandra Allan and EDU Corp, having been brainwashed from childhood to obey their every word. Because of this, Keiichi is fiercely protective and will defend EDU to the death.

Skills and abilities (this anyone can learn without powers):
Swordsmanship: Keiichi is trained in many different styles of swordfighting, including Itto-ryu and Katori Shinto-ryu. Those two styles in particular favor the use of Muramasa.

Unarmed Combat: As part of his training, Keiichi is an expert in unarmed combat. With his artifical arms and legs, he's capable of delivering devastating blows and kicks.

Weapons:
Muramasa: The legendary katana, Muramasa, has been passed down the Hattori line since it was created in the early 1300's. The metal was discovered in the Iga prefecture in Japan, and unbeknownst to the man that forged the sword, the sliver of metal was part of a wrecked starship's power core. Pulsing with a purple light, the blade continuously emanates with a power that allows it to stay razor sharp even after cutting through metal. The sword itself rests at about 600 degrees, and will cause severe radiation burns when it cuts. It was used most famously by Hattori Hanzo, Keiichi's ancestor.

Equipment:
Cybernetics: Keiichi has been heavily modified by EDU Corp, at Sandra Allan's insistence. His arms and legs have been replaced with the latest in robotic tech, and his brain has been heavily modified to accept a plethora of reflex enhancement equipment. His right eye was replaced with a hypersensitive camera, and when he's not in battle he needs to keep it covered with an eyepatch to avoid the sensory overload.

Other items:
Keiichi keeps a luck talisman tied to his belt, given to him by his mother.

Hero/villain Appearance (description or picture):
project_ashes__dze_by_caisne-db26633.jpg
Civilian appearance (description or picture):
Same as above.

Personality:
Keiichi is cold, calculating, and unyielding. Even in the face of danger, his cold personality doesn't slip, and only in very rare cases will he end up losing his temper and go into a rage. He strives to find someone that presents a challenge, otherwise he will get bored of a fight.

History:
From the time Keiichi was young, he has only known war. Raised in the Hattori household meant training day in and day out, forgoing all but the most basic education for swordfighting. His father, Masashi, insisted on continuing the Hattori reputation in battle, even though the family hadn't seen war in centuries.

Keiichi continued with his training until his early teen years brought his healing factor to light. Instead of seeing it as a detriment, Keiichi's father moved the boy away from bokens and fake weapons to the real thing. It wasn't until an agent of EDU came to the house to collect him did Keiichi finally have a short respite from his training. The respite only lasted a week before the EDU scientists began experimenting on him, brainwashing him to become the ultimate weapon. Ever since, he's been undergoing upgrades and surgery on a nearly monthly basis, forming him more and more into a living weapon and less of a human being.

Woo! The worst part is I'm already thinking up a third character. XD I have an incompetent hero, a villain, and now I need a competant hero.
Also, for Keiichi's solo title, you can name it Ronin: War Dog.

Hero/villain name: Marshal
civilian identity: Caleb Smith
Gender: Male
Age: 148
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Silver
Occupation (outside of superheroing or villaining): Officer in the Centurion City Police Department

Powers:
Immortality: Caleb was gifted with immortality by a Navajo shaman, after saving their tribe from a gold-hungry land baron.

Sixth Sense: Because of his immortality, Caleb has a special attunement to the supernatural. With enough focus, he can find others that have the same attunement, or are involved in magic in some way.

Weaknesses:
Pain: Though he cannot be killed, Caleb can experience pain like anyone else. Several times during his life he was put out of commission for several months, even up to a year.

Medicine Bag: Caleb is never seen without a small leather medicine bag around his neck, and there is a very good reason for it. The shaman that granted him immortality placed his soul in the medicine bag, thus allowing his body to live on forever. If the bag is stolen or destroyed, Caleb will fall into a coma and begin to age until he finally dies.

Skills and abilities (this anyone can learn without powers):
Gunslinging: Having had over a century to develop his skills, Caleb is deadly with a pistol. He has a measure of skill with rifles and shotguns as well, but his weapon of choice is a .45 caliber revolver

Observation: Caleb has been involved in law enforcement for nearly his entire life, and has been honing his skills for over a century. Many other officers often question his methods, but cannot argue the fact that if there's evidence, he'll find it.

Knife Combat: Caleb is not only skilled with a gun, he's exceptional with knives as well, for the same reasons he's skilled with a gun.

Weapons:
Smith and Wesson 325 PD: A highly customized revolver, and one that Caleb as a personal attachment to. He never goes anywhere without it.
DSC01305.jpg

Hunting Knife: Caleb also carries an 8" hunting knife tucked into his belt. There's nothing special about it, besides the fact that he has an almost compulsive need to keep it razor sharp.

Equipment:
Police Equipment: Standard issue police equipment, such as handcuffs, a radio, and kevlar vest.

Other items:
Medicine Bag: A small leather pouch worn around his neck, tucked under his shirt.

Pocketwatch: It's a watch. That's about it.

Hero/villain Appearance (description or picture):
latest
(Minus the cross.)
Civilian appearance (description or picture): Same as above, minus the flak vest.

Personality:
Caleb is calm and collected, and often comes off as a father figure to others. He has an unerring sense of fighting for what's right, and will put himself in danger regularly to keep innocents safe. Sometimes he can come off as almost a sage, preaching patience to the younger and more trigger-happy officers. He's patient almost to a fault, and only very rarely will ever lose his temper.

History:
Caleb was born in Amarillo, Texas, in what would be considered now as the 'Wild West'. A lawless town was his home until his teen years, until his father, the sheriff, was gunned down by a wanted outlaw. Caleb, engulfed by thoughts of revenge, hunted down the man and gunned him down in cold blood.
Though his vengence was satisfied, Caleb was consumed by guilt. To atone for what he had done, he went into law enforcement, becoming a deputy and then a sherriff of a small town in Arizona.

He kept the law in that town for many years until he reached his mid 40's. He passed the torch to a young deputy and went wandering, but never gave up his tin star. He became an unofficial marshall, and often found himself hunting bounties in an attempt to bring law and order to the west.
It was on one of these bounties that he saved a tribe of Navajo from a notorious and dangerous land baron. The man was trying to steal their land to get to the gold there, and after a drawn-out battle Caleb eventually emerged victorious. As thanks, the shaman cast a spell on him that would give him his immortality. Though Caleb didn't quite believe in the supernatural, he was eventually convinced when twenty years later he hadn't aged a day.

As the years went on, Caleb kept his sense of justice and order, working in many different law enforcement agencies over the years. He changed his name and story every time, only working for about a decade in each agency before moving on. He's most recently joined the Centurion City police department, keeping his immortality and history a secret from all.

Quotes (optional):
"Ya'll better put those guns down, you don't want me to draw mine."
"Justice can mean many different things to many different people. That doesn't always mean they're right."
