Gobbo
Tactical Goat
WIP (I'll finish/modify this later when I'm not exhausted. XD)
Hero/villain name: Servo
civilian identity: Jason Callahan
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Eye color: N/A
Hair color: N/A
Occupation (outside of superheroing or villaining): "Uh... I can't exactly work at Starbucks looking like this..."
Powers: Heightened Vision: Because of the optical array Jason had installed, he now has access to night, thermal, and telescopic vision types.
Heightened reflexes: Due to his new body, Jason is able to react much quicker than he could before. He can't quite dodge bullets, but he can certainly dodge a punch. (If he's paying attention.)
Enhanced Movement: Jason is capable of jumping long distances, climbing difficult surfaces, and landing from tremendous height without incurring severe damage. Without the pesky nuisance of muscles and tendons getting in the way, he is able to fold himself into small spaces and move where most others can't. He uses this to his advantage as often as he is able.
Adaptive Ability: Through the use of the internet and personal experience, Jason is able to learn new skills at a rapid rate. Because of the learning algorithms he wrote, he is also able to understand and speak most of Earth's more common languages.
Weaknesses:
EMP: Jason is susceptible to electromagnetic pulses. Though he built a Faraday cage around the CPU, the other components can be disabled temporarily or fried completely with electromagnetic pulses.
Bleeding Effect: As his consciousness isn't meant to exist inside a machine, Jason will occasionally have bouts where the robot body's programming sees Jason as a rogue piece of code and tries to override it. Because of this, he'll occasionally 'lose' himself, reverting to a cold, mechanical personality that conflicts with who he really is.
Outside Influence: Because he never focused heavily on safeguards or firewalls, he has to make a conscious effort to fight back against anyone trying to control him remotely.
Power Cells: Though the power cells he used have a decently long lifespan, Jason has to make sure to recharge fairly often. If he goes without a charge for more than a few days, he loses the ability to function.
Skills and abilities (this anyone can learn without powers):
Coding: Being a techie to the core, Jason has taught himself several coding languages. Because of this, he is able to decipher and reprogram many different systems he comes across.
Engineering: Jason has an innate knowledge of mechanical concepts, and often spends his spare time building and tinkering with various projects, though he has issues finishing many of them.
Useless Knowledge: Having spent most of his time when not at school by himself, Jason has a wealth of knowlege of video games, movies, and books. None of it is really useful, but that doesn't stop him from spouting off tidbits every once in a while in an awkward attempt to fit in with others.
Weapons:
Improvised Stun: Jason never designed his robot to be equipped with weapons, but found that he could send a surge of electricity to his hands to incapacitate an opponent.
Equipment:
Drone: A simple surveillance drone he built, prior to constructing the 01-series chassis.
Hero/villain Appearance (description or picture):
Civilian appearance (description or picture): (Same as above, it's not like he can go back to his old body.)
Personality:
Jason can be described, in a word, as shy. Having never had to deal with people for extended periods, he never quite developed the same social skills as others in his age group. Though, beneath that quiet exterior lies a mind like a steel trap, and a fierce sense of determination.
He's kind, almost to a fault, and will often disregard his own safety to protect others. He's also easily taken advantage of, because of his overly trusting personality. He has a lot to learn about the world, and though he tries his best sometimes it's not enough. However, he's just as stubborn as he is naive, and doesn't often back down from a challenge.
History:
Jason Callahan was born to Daniel and Lily Callahan on June 15th, 1998. He was raised in the 'poor' part of Centurion City, though he honestly didn't see much of it. His parents insisted on him being homeschooled, as they didn't trust either the school system or the city with all of the super activity going on. Jason didn't have much of a say in this, and spent most of his early years in his room.
At the age of ten, his father got him his first robotics kit. He had already showed a great aptitude in math at that point, and little did his father know that the kit was the push that Jason needed to dive headlong into programming and robotics. Within two years he had revamped his entire room, and often spent more time sitting at his workbench than doing other important things like eating, or sleeping.
What had begun as a hobby turned into an obsession, and if he had any social life at all it soon vanished. Each new project brought up new problems, which meant new chances to learn. As the years went by, his parents grew more and more concerned, but honestly didn't know how to handle their son's new obsession. They simply continued giving him his allowance, and tolerated every time a new box was dropped off by the postman.
By the time he hit adulthood, he was well into his masterpiece, his best project to date- The 01-series Chassis.
It was going to be his entry, his proof that he was a capable engineer to try and land a job to finally leave his parent's house. It had become a point of obssession, losing many night's sleep as he worked on it. Several years passed, and by the time he hit his 20th birthday it was nearing completion.
The night he finally tested his creation, it was raining. A serious thunderstorm had come over Centurion City, though all warnings of blackouts and power surges went ignored. He worked quickly, his fingers cramping from writing the last few hundred lines of code needed. As he went to initiate his creation for the first time, a bolt of lightning overloaded the power grid, sending a massive shock through his body.
As he regained consciousness, the first thing Jason noticed was the fact that his fingers didn't hurt. Nothing did, in fact he couldn't feel anything. The second thing he noticed, and most shockingly, was the fact that he saw himself crumpled in a heap on the floor. Through some freak accident, his consciousness was transferred to the 01. Panic and fear immediately set in, and as he saw his body breathe its last breath he ran. He burst out of his window and ran off into the city, to hopefully find a place to gather his thoughts.
A few weeks later, he came to terms with what had happened. He hid out in an abandoned house in the poor district, coming to grips with his new body. As time passed, he soon came to the realization that, though he didn't understand the circumstances, this new body suited him well. He was closer to technology now than he ever dreamed, and soon he simply saw this as a new challenge, another hurdle to overcome.
