Sirens don't have a good reputation with sailors, so Gael has heard some stories about shipwrecks and men going overboard! Same with giants, angels, wolves, angel-wolves, and demons. He's never really interacted with anyone besides sailors and his father haha

When the weather gets too harsh for his human form, Gael changes into a humanoid dragon for convenience. (Which means he has nothing warmer than a light jacket)
As a humanoid dragon, Gael wears no clothing. He finds it unnecessary as he lives nowhere near any towns. If his human form were less “squishy”, than he wouldn’t mind living naked totally. Yet, the cold sea breeze makes him shiver and the many sharp tools and objects around hurt his fragile human skin.

Looks old, but on closer examination appears to be well kept. Given to him by his father, Gael treasures it greatly and always has it close by, if not on his head.

Personality
Calm and cheerful, Gael is very approachable. His presence seems to relax those near him, which makes him smile to see. Living alone for many years has made him unaware of customs or proper speech. Most of his conversations are with the sailors that stop by his pier, while the books he has collected show a more formal way of speech. This makes for a funny difference in how he treats reading and speaking. Gael is the epitome of a carefree being, taking naps, fishing, tending his garden, and reading out on the sunny beach. No matter what comes his way, he has made it his motto to stay calm. Beneath all this, he feels unable to leave his comfy life. Longing to see his parents return, or to just hear more about their lives; Gael stays in the same old shack. His dreams of seeing the world and of adventure continue as just dreams.

Biography
Gael was born from the love of a fisherman and dragon. The fisherman, living in solitude, longed for more than the sea could provide him, but could not tear himself away from the coast. The dragon, lonely and longing as well, watched the man from atop a nearby mountain. As time proved little comfort, the dragon steeled herself and visited the man in a human form. The wise man knew his visitor was a dragon, yet still invited her to sit and talk with him. Weeks went by as the two continued this routine. They spoke of their lives, thoughts, fears, and all that came to mind. The relationship bloomed and bore an unexpected fruit. Gael was born a year and half later in the small shack by the sea. His father, Orrick, has told this story many times in detail, but never spoke of his mother leaving. There seemed to be no anger or regret when his father talked of his lover, Araceli, yet Gael couldn’t help to wonder why it had to be hidden.
(Gael does not know that he was born a pure dragon, because he thought his father was a human. His father never transformed and went so far as to hide his dragon presence totally. This is one of the reasons that Gael prefers to be in his human form.)
6 years has passed since Gael’s father passed away at sea. A calm evening of gentle waves, suddenly turned to a great storm. Gael was left at home, while Orrick was fishing near the Great Pillars, a grouping of sea stacks. The event lasted only a few minutes and still destroyed many ships within the area. That freak storm is still remembered by fellow sailors and fisherman today as the 5 Minutes of Hell. Gael waited weeks for his father to come home, before accepting the truth. Even now, he still has a tiny sliver of hope that Orrick is alive.
Gael lives alone at the shack he was birthed in. He has never ventured far inland or even to a town or village. Small trade ships and fisherman will sometimes dock at his pier to talk, trade, or get directions; a couple being friends of his late father wanting to catch up and offer small gifts. Besides fishing, Gael tends a small garden of fruits and vegetables.

She has scales that cover her breasts when she needs to be decent, held in place by seaweed that is wrapped around her neck, while she has a tail of a mermaid in the water and does not need anything covering it. When she transforms into her human form, the scales stay in place until removes, and a bundle of seaweed is wrapped around her bottom half to conceal herself until other coverings can be used. She prefers not to wear too much though, because it hinders her ability to move as quickly as she can and makes her vulnerable to enemies.

Her skin is tougher than that of a human, as are the scales atop her skin when she goes into battle. She controls the placement of her scales and where they appear, so she has the ability to make them disappear when not needed and reappear when she needs to defend her lands.

Playful and spirited, Cyr is a very outgoing and vivacious creature, taking joy in her pranks and her fun-loving lifestyle, despite her occupation. When it comes to her work, she's plenty serious and capable of committing to her assigned tasks, but she prefers to lighten the situation with her jokes, puns, all sorts of shenanigans. When she's not on the job, she's relaxed, enjoys learning about the other races in the world and makes ventures out to meet them and spend time experiencing their cultures, etc. She doesn't ever turn off her wariness, however, due to incidents that have occurred in the past. She's always alert, always ready to fight, and never willing to stand down or turn a blind eye towards someone in need of her assistance. But none of this applies when she's alone - Cyr suffers from depression and loneliness, always forcing herself to keep a distance from others so that she won't be hurt by anyone anymore. She will curl up in the deepest abyss she can find and berate her mind with profanities and hurtful thoughts, all the while struggling to keep herself from hurting those who love her. If she lost her sister...she would no longer have a will to live.

In this form she cannot use her siren song, but she is much stronger than her mermaid or human forms.

We don't have sirens and mermaids anymore, only Sea-Elves. This means everything stays the same, but a) she can't turn int oa harpy and b) her mum could become an asshole Sea Elf instead. Everything else (including siren songs and the tail thing) stays the same.

Speaking of tails, sa-elves (too lazy to capitalize) can grow fish tails with a spell, but it's really necessary. Thought I'd bring it up because I'm too lazy to go edit the lore.
