Fantasy A War of Kings And Princes [First Iteration]

BDark

Three Thousand Club
Roleplay Type(s)

The world was once made of two realms: The Aether, where the rulers of the world resided, and the Middle Realm, where all other beings lived. In the Aether there lived two races that, despite their difference, were related and lived in harmony, and those were angels and demons, and it was ruled by five kings throughout the ages.

The last demon king of the Aether, Satan, was overthrown by the rebelling angels, and the angels and demons fought for a year and a day, bringing chaos and destruction upon the Middle Realm. At last, the angels won and they took the demons' wings away except for the royals, and they banished them to another realm of their creation known as the Underworld, and there the demons ruled and they took the realm as their own, for they stood no chance against the angels of the Aether without their wings.

He only felt hatred and darkness. There was not a single sound in the vast caverns in which he was imprisoned; they were isolated from the world, and he was made dormant, chained to the earth and almost powerless, for he was a terrible evil. He had not seen a single living being in thousands of years; not an earthworm that had come to spy on him.

But then he woke. One of his eyes opened, gleaming in the vast caverns as a fire would in the darkest of nights, and even in the deepest darkness, it seemed light, for he had not seen in many years. He tried to rise, but his chains only held him in his place, rattling as he shook them, echoing throughout the quiet caves, and he became mad, but he was powerful, and he knew there was one who could free him.

It was his enemy, Michael the angel.

Channelling his great power, he entered the angel's mind, but only very briefly, and he gave him a vision of himself marching to the Aether with thousands of demons, but he was still chained, and perhaps Michael would visit him, hoping to find him dormant, then he would rise once again.

Tabhur waited, and he shut his eye.

Michael breathed the fresh air of the coliseum. From his nose and into his lungs, calming him and making him focused. He lived for war and combat, and couldn't get enough of it. As he was preparing himself, the massive warrior angels came forth, surrounding him in a circle. Each of them were three times his size and carried a variety of weapons. Swords and axes to mace's and pikes Michael was always looking for the most powerful warriors among his legions to challenge in battle. As the angelic warriors prepared their weapons, Michael just stood their in silence with his eyes closed, standing in a relax position. He was unarmed, without weapons or armor to defend himself. But he knew he wouldn't need them

Finally after a few minutes, Michael was sure that both his opponents and himself were ready. "COME" he said in a powerful booming voice. One of the colossal angels then jumped onto the battlefield and ran straight for him, but Michael didn't move and inch. When he got close enough, the angel swung his blade at him powerfully, causing the ground beneath Michael to crack. dust filled the air, and the other angels got nervous. And when the dust cleared, they had good reason to be. Michael had caught the giant angels sword with his hand. His eyes were closed, and the angel was stunned. Michael then had a disturbing thought, about something he had not thought of for thousands of years. His old enemy,Tabhur. The Aether was getting destroyed, and thousands of demons were invading under his command. Michael was angered by this, his eyes glowing a dark purple. Sparks of electricity were shooting from his body, which now glowed a sky blue. In an instant, he shot lighting through the blade in his hand, completing destroying it and sending its wielder across the arena. Pieces of metal flew everywhere, flying in all directions. The vision had made Michael express more rage than he should shown.

The other Angels then went in for the kill, all jumping in at once. Michael than smiled with excitement as they ran towards him. when they were all within a meter of him, Michael struck the ground, causing all of them to be sent back. He then ran at one of them and fought hand to hand. Even though the angels were fast, Michael was faster, dogging every attack they made. All it would take would be a few strikes before the angel would be down. Michael would hold himself back though, as he would completely obliterate them if he punched with all his power. After continuing this with the other angels, Michael went back to the middle of the arena to see if some of them were still strong enough to attack again. He repeated this 4 times until the last angel couldn't fight anymore. Ironically enough, it was the first angel that attacked him. Michael was impressed "Well done mighty warrior. I will make you commander of many legions" he said as he gave him an applause. "The rest of you, keep training hard. If the demons decide to wage war again, we cant afford to have any weakness among my elite unit"

He then pointed to the winning angel "He will be you new commander. Follow his orders as you would mine and maybe you can reach his rank someday" he then gave the now ranked angel a blue ribbon to symbolize his rank. "you are dismissed" he said. "YES SIR" the angels said, limping away from the arena with their new commander. Michael on the other hand was still haunted by the vision that he had during the battle he just had. He needed to speak with Gabriel at once. Sprouting his six giant magnificent black wings, he flew to the grand castle of the rulers to speak with him about the issue

The Archangel Gabriel

The Aether kingdom: towering white spires of marble and glistening windows, now inhabited solely by the angelic people. It had felt strange at first. The demons' absence had left a sort of imbalance. As time passed the world seemed to settle into a new normal. But the demons weren't gone. They were simply below. The thought was simultaneously grounding and unsettling. He didn't doubt that there were many among their numbers who would see him dead and Satan or one of his sons on the throne instead. For now, however, there was peace. Some found it a bore. They were a people born of war and conflict, now. Few remembered an extended time that hadn't been scarred with suffering and hatred. It was Gabriel's place to teach them how to live without, but it was far from a trivial task.

The kind of the Aether stood in his study, a small but un-cramped room behind the much more spacious throne room and audience hall. He was adorned in his usual white robes, his hair pulled back in a loose tail and tied twice down the length of it. His back was to the door and, indeed, to the rest of the room; instead his eyes were directed outward, through one of the floor-to-ceiling windows that gave him an ample view of the kingdom. In spite of his immobility and the placid look on his face he was far from idle. It could truthfully be said that Gabriel was rarely, if ever, truly idle. By this point in his life he couldn't even imagine what he would do with free time if he had it.

But no, the Archangel was working--as he usually was. Only a portion of what he did was active and outwardly noticeable. Yes, there were the hours spent in the audience chamber, hearing pleas and complaints from all quarters. There were the judgement made and directives declared in an authoritative voice. There were even the days spent keeping in touch with his subjects, for a king who knew not who he ruled was a poor ruler indeed. But in addition to that, settling into the cracks between the big tasks and clear actions, were the quieter moments. The moments when he reached out with his mind, drawing power from the light, and felt the world.

He could feel every mind in the Aether. All of the angels, shining like a sky full of stars. There was happiness and contentment, but also restlessness. He could feel the general sway of emotions, picking up on anything sharp or particularly unsettled--anything that might require his attention. If he looked closer he could pry into thoughts, but he didn't. That was an invasion of privacy; not something he was inclined to do without good reason.

Among the unsettled he found one particularly potent mind. It grew closer rapidly; it was easier to make out details over shorter distances, but he didn't need closeness to know the mind belonged to his oldest friend. Gabriel blinked. His eyes slowly refocused. He could still feel the way Michael's emotions felt inside his mind and he couldn't help but wonder what could draw such a response from the Archangel of War. Gabriel turned from the window; judging by the speed at which Michael approached, he was going to find out soon.

Dinah the Favour Devil

The shore was empty from satyrs, demons, or angels of any kind. Pale, grainy sand decorated by occasional shells and crustaceans drowned under the low waves. She took a last glance toward the sea behind her. It was vacant, except for the great blue that stretched until the end of horizon. Ever slowly, she raised herself into the land. Her scales and fin slowly turned into a pair of white, nimble feet. She cleaned her lower body from grain of sands, before running, half naked into the wood.

As the woman moved under the shade of trees, her feature changed. Her blue, bright eyes dissolved into her face, blurring to a shadow. Her chest and slender arms glimmered shortly before it turned into the same shade as her head. A dress slowly covered her legs, before turning into shadow with the rest of her body. The woman was no longer there, only a silhouette, phasing through trees and bushes.

She arrived at a small cottage. The wooden floor was littered with leaves and dirt, but she didn't care. She slithered through a door, and another one, she passed through everything until she arrived at a small room with a single desk on it. Dust has settled on the surface of it, but a single letter was free from any kind of stain. She materialised into the woman she was, and ripped open the envelope.

[border]
Dear sister,

Weeks have passed since I sent you my last letter, and I humbly offer you my apologise. The Underworld has been in turmoil after the fall of our Lord Satan, and I had to seek refuge in another place. Alterwood is not and will never be my home, but it offered me a chance I could not resist.

I must refuse your generous offer to live in the safety of the sea at the time. Perhaps I will regret this decision, but it is all according to my plan. The Aether is rightfully ours to live in, and as such, I will not stand idle until we can return safely to our home.

By the time you are reading this letter, I have left the horror of Alterwood behind and head to the Underworld, back to father's dwelling. Can you not forgive your brother selfish request and travels here yourself?

Your affectionate brother,
Drevis Senade

[/border]

She folded the letter and put it inside a drawer. A frown appeared on her brow as she pondered the request. She had enjoyed her live in the sea, fooling around with her companions mermaid and flirted with the mermen. But does she wanted to live there forever? The answer came surprisingly easy for her. She missed Aether with its grand pillars and stiff marbles. She missed the parties she held, missed the overwhelming attention she received.

Dinah melted back into a shadow. There was no time to lose. She floated through the wood as fast as she could, frightening occasional deer when she phased through them. She dived into the sea, her feature changing into one of a mermaid. She need to go, and she must make haste.

(Open~)

The underworld, what a place, so vast, and so boring. Satan's cold eyes gazed upon the void which was the underworld. His long flowing black hair was let free, as he was in his standard humanoid manifestation for now. His dark garments surprisingly complimented the general environment of the underworld. Naturally Satan would much rather be up in Aether, and let thing be the way they should be. He would be entertained, socialize with his fellow demons, while he would manage political and legal affairs from time to time regarding Aether. Satan was a simple demon in what he desired after all. First was control, second was power. He knew that he was the king who was ment to be. Otherwise why would such kingship have been bestowed upon him by the previous generation of king.

Aether needed the demons for balance and he was well aware of such. You cannot have too much light or darkness, he tended to ignore that fact when he was in rule it seemed as he obviously favored "Darkness". How far he had fallen from ruling upon HIS throne where HE belonged. Nothing had been the same, many of his subjects had been slaughtered in the war. He couldn't even see many of his sons due to their imprisonment, and even he did not have the ability to free them. Thankfully Satan had been preparing himself, for the time of an uprising. He wanted to ensure that the demons would rule Aether once more. Every single angel would be punished for what he considered a war crime upon demons if he were to succeed. He would take his throne back, and let his sons rule beside him, that's what he'd do.

Unfortunately he wasn't strong enough to free or even seemingly communicate with the ever dormant Tabhur. Satan looked forward to the day that he could see his even one of his sons again. Hell even if his son hated him and betrayed him it would be much better than how things were going currently. Even if such were to occur he'd be happy that his legacy could live on through his son, and he would make sure to transfer his energy to said son once he died, IF he died. Satan did not intend on leaving anytime soon. He still had to reclaim the throne in order for any of this to occur. Such would not be easy, Satan knew as the angels had been on edge ever since the war, preparing for a demonic attack. Whilst Satan had been preparing for an assault on Aether once everyone's strength was up. Satan himself had been honing his blade, making it stronger, and even more capable of slaying angels. He had also been increasing the power in his armor day by day. He knew that he would need such to succeed. He knew that he would need the loyalty from his subjects in this war, and hopefully most of them would stay loyal to him, the rest would have to either die or conform..it was the only way this was going to work. At the moment Tabhur had awoken, Satan felt the sensation, a demonic connection if you will to the rousal of his son. Satan would attempt to communicate, it seemed that only a weak signal would get through, but he would try to send such to Tabhur. "Son, are you awake?..." he'd try to send through his communication. Satan hadn't heard his son's voice in what felt like thousands of years... Satan knew that he could not free his son as only the likes of Michael could, due to the nature that Tabhur was imprisoned. Michael....the one angel who Satan despised quite a bit. Michael had killed many of his subjects and he did not appreciate such. If Tabhur could be freed, Satan knew that he could be a valuable asset to the take over of Aether. At that Satan would stay alert, trying to sense the presence of any communication, and the location of all current demons, as Satan could check such usually.

"More air Tolfey" Niom roared over the intense flames in the forge. Small dwarfs ran wildly like ants around his feet, trying to keep with their lord's orders. The giant crouched to take a better look at the metals within. The edges glowed red and yellow more towards the center. It was almost at that most delicate part of heating, when a smith could bend its unmoving core to his will. "We're almost there, keep it going" he encouraged. As it got ever closer Niom put on a pair of heavy gloves to protect himself from the heat. Normally the heat would never affect him, but he wasn't working with normal metals. The metals where not from this realm, so he had to use a special kind of coke, making the fire far more intense.
"There" With a sharp eye and expert hands, Niom quickly snatched the blade from his forge and placed it upon his massive anvil. Holding the bright yellow blade in one hand, he took his hammer in the other and raised it far above his head. Holding it there for a mere second, white smoke swirled around the head as he gathers his magic. Then with much effort he brought the glowing hammer onto the blade. The sheer impact caused sparks to fly and a satisfying ring to echo throughout the forge. Wasting no time he swung his hammer again and again and again. Until the blade began to fade of color. Picking it up he plunged it into a nearby vat of swirling liquid.
Blue flames creeped up the handle before fading out to smoke. Lifting it carefully he examined the finished product in his hands. The servants edged towards their lord to take a better look at the finished product their lord made. Flipping it over in his hand Niom looked at it closely, it was to small for a giant it would be a sword of a more average sized being. Bright silver it reflected the light nicely, even in its unfinished form it looked like it could still cut rock. "Good, very good indeed, a job well done boys, that's all for now". Speaking to nobody in particular as he made his way out of the forge, behind him the servants started preparations for cleaning.
"Now, every good blade should have a name, what should yours be.." Thinking aloud as he made his way down one of the great many halls in his kingdom. "Layment? Daywalker? Redemption maybe...?"
"Oh sire, SIRE" piped a small voice by his feet. "Oh Mythe, what is it I was just thinking of a name for this blade" taking a glance at his administrator as he tried to keep up with the Giant's stride. "Sire we have many important tasks today, starting with a meeting wi-"
"Do you know what this blade needs" he interrupted "It needs to be sharpened with some Florence stone" his voice echoed down the hall a he spoke. "But sire we're out of Florence stone and it is only found in the ocean, besides Mr. Andrews has tha-"
"And where do you think we're going hmmm, as for Mr. Andrews I already said we weren't going to deal with that rat"
"But sire as King I-"
"Fine" he waved his hand, already knowing what he was going to say. "Go tell the good Captain if it will settle your nerves" hesitantly at first the man bowed before running off. At the end of the tunnel was a cave which ended on a beach he traveled many times. Now on the beach, he raised the blade "What about... Eorlund, yes Eorlund, a fine name" Satisfied Niom wrapped the blade and set it in his belt, before wading into the deep waters before him.

Michael flapped his magnificent wings with great power, getting closer to the Grand castle every with every second. He didn't usually intrude onto his kings work that often, but thus time it was urgent. Gabriel had always been Michaels closest friend. They were almost the same age, with Michael being just a little older. They met when he joined the mission to free the improsioned Archangels during Satuanus's rule. They got even closer when Michael trained with Raphael, as Gabriels father was an Archangel. Ever since then, their bond was like that of brothers. They trained together, fought together and played together. And even when Gabriel succeeded his father and became an Archangel before him, Michael was empowered and happy for his friend. The same happened when he became king. Even though Michael was the stronger angel, Gabriel had more experience and wisdom, a better leader you could say. But Michael was content with being the right hand

Arriving on a marble ledge just outside the kings working chambers, Michael landed and retracted his wings. He then knelt before his king who stood before him, bowing his head with respect "my king, there is an urgent matter that I must consult you with" he said in his booming powerful voice. When he received permission to stand, he rose and walked beside Gabriel "I have had a vision. An old enemy will awake from captivity and try to take back your kingdom" he said in a concerning but calm tone. "With your permission, I would like to locate him and make sure he is neutralized" he then awaited his kings response

Coral Reef

One of her favourite place to stay was a hidden coral reef near the bottom of the ocean, far from the surface. She had wondered how the reef managed to be there without little to no sunlight, but the coral glowed softly, attracting the attention of several deep seas creatures. None of them were hostile. Not after she threatened to eat them alive.

The source of her attention was a small hole where the glowing seemed to be the strongest. She had put her momento from the surface there in a thick glass box she made. It had cost her five silver, but it was a good bargain. Her tea set was there along with her parasol and... a feather from her wings.

She remembered that day perfectly. Her last party before everything swirled into chaos...

She shook her head and grabbed her box with grim determination. She will return. And she will make the angel who cut her wings pay.

The box was surprisingly light on her hand. She had almost reach the shore when saw something, something huge enter the water.

Niom often used this way to get to the sea. The sea was a whole realm by itself, wonderful and mysterious as the above land. If he didn't have a kingdom in the mountains, he would have moved to the ocean long ago.
Now Florence stone was usually found in reefs or on the edge of caves. A glint caught the giant's eye and it wasn't the waters reflection either. No it was a glass box, and who wa holding the box, a mermaid. This could be useful, "You, mermaid, tell me have you seen any Florence stone about?" He spoke authoritatively, stepping ever closer. He eyed the creature curiously, he had not seen this one in this area before. He had just come from the forge so he wasn't well prepared if a fight broke out. Though he wasn't worried, more... curious then anything.

Coral Reef

Inwardly, she sighed in relief. It was lucky for her that the giant was a male. Slowly, her appearance began to change, syncing with the perfect image of beauty in the mind of the giant. She ran her free hand through her long wavy hair, which also began to change in colour. She wanted nothing more but to change into her shadow self, but she had to wait.

"Is it coral that you mean? Muriel named hers Flora, like flower. They said corals and flowers look alike. Are they? " her eyelashes batted flirtatiously against the blue ocean behind her. A coy smile carved on her rich, elegant face. Her face brightened as she put her eyes on the sword at his hip.

"Ah, a warrior! Then maybe sunken treasure? Pearls are plenty if you know where to look. Not that you would know, " she chuckled at her own private jest, before returning to the topic.

"I'm just toying with you, kind sir. Sometimes giant look for material here. A smaller coral reef down there has glowing rocks if you look careful enough, "

Fasayssi's golden dragon claws clicked against the gleaming silver handle of the throne as she drummed her fingers. Gusano stood stiffly at the side of her throne, and her advisor, Frederick, stood at her left. Guards lined along the walls of the throne room. The room was made of intricate marble with glimmering silvery drapes over the large panned windows. It was a grand palace for sure. Fasayssi would often stare up at the arched ceiling overhead, made entirely up of different tiles stained glass.

She wrapped the gold chain from her crown around her fingers as Gusano cleared his throat to speak. She narrowed her vivid violet eyes at him, daring him to speak. He was lucky he was even allowed to walk around at all.

"Fasayssi," Gusano began, shifting uncomfortably from her piercing gaze. Averting his red ones away from hers and at the wall ahead of him. "There have been rumors," he paused, "Some hidden Dentanus supports, mainly the nobels, still miss his laws."

Fasayssi's fingers tighter around the gold chain, feeling a brief jolt of anger before regaining her temper. "And why do they support him?" She asked him calmly, a hint of coolness in her young and rather beautiful voice.

Gusano hesitated. Frederick quietly snuck his way out of the throne room, making his great escape.

"They miss...being superior. They had slaves, they were richer tha-"

"And how do you know this?" Fasayssi interuppted, her tone was challenging as she stood up. Gusano defiantly held his ground, looking slightly intimidated.

"I was eavesdropping-" he began to quick explain. But she knew her brother enough to know when he was lying.

Fasayssi sighed, shaking her head as she stepped down from the throne and began to cross the throne room, guards opened the doors for Fasayssi and Gusano followed with an angry huff.

"Even after all he did, what he did to the people, to us. You'll always stick by him. Even dead. You like power. Just like he did." Her tone had the slightest bit of anger as she sped up her pace.

Silence.

"If I hear one more word. I'll throw you back in the dungeon, do you understand me? Do not think you walk freely here because you don't." Her voice was dangerously smooth, not even bothering to glance at him.

"Fasayssi stop." He pleaded as she
quickened her pace.
She whipped around so fast Gusano had to step back. "It doesn't have to be this way." He said in a mournful tone, he almost looked sad. Almost.

"Your right," Fasayssi said, making Gusano perk up in surprise. "If you can learn to redeem yourself and be a living-non-living-person and live like a perfect angel." She said, placing her hand on his shoulders and putting on a gentle expression.

Poor Gusano almost looked hopeful. And then she burst into laughter, unable to keep the facade up any longer. He frowed and
sighed as Fasayssi turned and walked away with a trail of guards following behind her. Fuming. How dare he ask her to forgive him. After everything.

No. He didn't get that. Not now. Not ever.

The Archangel Gabriel

In moments, Michael landed on the ledge outside the open doors of his study. His thoughts and emotions were more potent from closer, but Gabriel didn't pry; he had come to share them, not to have them plucked out of his head.

"Rise, my friend; there are no formalities between us," Gabriel said as Michael knelt. He should have known better. There was a time and a place for such things and Gabriel didn't begrudge them when they were necessary--titles, formalities, and so on all went hand-in-hand with respect. Respect was a necessity for leading a kingdom. But here, in an otherwise empty room with no one but his oldest friend? They were superfluous.

When Michael rose, Gabriel listened to his concerns. He spoke of a vision and Gabriel wondered about the source. Michael was a powerful Archangel with many skills, but the gift of foresight was not one of them. The most obvious explanation--or at least the first that leaped to his mind--was that Michael wanted to believe that the demons were coming to take the kingdom, so that he would have a reason to strike first. That could have been true, but his friend wasn't lying. That much he could tell from a glance. Whatever the source, Michael believed he had experienced a vision that showed a demon would rise and attack. The future was far from concrete; it stood to reason that any sort of vision could then be changed by prompt action now.

"What enemy--Tabhur?" The name came to his mind before he had finished speaking the question. A little furrow formed in his brow as he looked at his friend. "Michael, he was imprisoned by you--locks which only you could break bind him. Do you doubt their permanence? "

8408dfe9cd2e88988be50b3e87916c05.jpg

Tabhur. One of the very few names that sent a shiver down his spine. He remembered when he found him on the middle realm, defeated by its warriors and magicians. Michael challenged him to a one on one duel to test his newly gifted Archangel powers and to subdue him Their battle shook the earth and leveled mountains, and to this day, Tabhur was the most powerful enemy Michael had ever faced in battle. He was barely able to subdue and imprison him, only being able to using chains that were literally infused with his own life energy.

"My friend, imprisoning that demonic prince was not a task of simplicity" he said to Gabriel "one may question his work when it is done in haste and stress" this was true, as Michael did not have a lot of time to subdue Tabhur before he would destroy himself and take the lives of thousands. "However, even though the chains restrict his physical powers, his mental and spiritual powers are unrestrained. That alone makes him a threat". He said this with great urgency, as he alone knew the true mental and spiritual power Tabhur possessed. After all, only legends tell so much "that is why I humbly as you as your friend for permission to locate him and make sure that he is not a threat to us or the middle realm. This is an issue you should not take lightly Gabriel"

The Archangel Gabriel

In that moment it didn't matter that Gabriel hadn't engaged Tabhur in combat. He wasn't naive about the power of demons to begin with--it was impossible to get to where they stood without knowing just what was waiting in the Underworld--but just then he could feel the memories coming off of Michael in waves. Any demon that made the Archangel of War feel so sharply wasn't one Gabriel was going to take lightly. Indeed, there were very few things that he took lightly. Perhaps his life would have been a little bit less stressful if he had found something, now and then, but no. He weighed everything with careful judgement. And his hesitation to let Michael so as he wished and check on the demon prince's prison was born entirely of caution rather than lack there of.

"No, Michael, I do not take the threat lightly," Gabriel's voice was still even. It was always even. He could have been at Satan's feet with a sword to his throat and his voice would have been even. If nothing else, he could always have peace outwardly. "If you truly believe that he is a danger in his current state, then I will not stop you from going."

Gabriel dragged his long tail of hair over his shoulder and through his fingers, thoughtfully. Though his face showed nothing, he was still troubled by this vision of Michael's. But his friend knew better than any what was waiting in that prison, and if it should be a trap....

"I hardly need to remind you to take your caution--but please, take with you some others," Gabriel clasped his hand over Michael's shoulder for a moment before dropping it back to his side. "And Michael... walk in the light."

Niom narrowed his eyes at the creature. He could feel it sift through his mind. "Really, a dangerous creature you are" He spoke careful as he slowly lowered his voice. "I have be alive for along time, I have fought many battles and killed many creatures, do you think you are the first to tempt me with looks?" Lowering himself to one knee he was within spitting distance of the creature. "Now I doubt I have any quarrels with you, and I doubt you have any with... however if you seek to danger my kingdom or my people, you will be dealt with..." Pausing to stroke his beard "Appropriately..."

Coral Reef

There was a pregnant pause in the eerily quiet sea. Dinah batted her eyelashes at the old man. Doesn't he know the meaning of fun? All she did was flirt with the strong, muscly man. A compliment, a pretentious indifference would have suffice. She had never received this kind of reaction before. Inside her mind, she secretly pondered the sanity of the giant in front of her.

She stared at the giant with her glittering, innocent eyes. Without a word, she cupped her free hand against her mouth, inserting a single coin into her throat. A melodious laugh escaped her lips, and she began to sing. Her voice rang clearly inside the vast water, travelling far into the kingdom of mermaids, and further than that.

O beautiful fair maidens of the sea
I pledge for your help sincerely
How should I soften the heart of
A smith! a warrior that told me off

One answer my smile with a vicious glare
Who give a threat for my flirtatious stare
How should I treat a stubborn giant
That answer my kiss with mere defiance

Oh how simple what I ask from him
A mere compliment, a smile, a grin
Alas, he threat me, he accuse me of trickery
Please do come and help me, maidens of the sea

Her voice vanished into the distance, bringing her music with her. Her eyes was never off the giant for a moment, but a different sparkle dance behind her eyes. It was wilder than before, but truer than any word conveyed. Her smile didn't seem innocent anymore, merely beautiful.

"There is nothing wrong with a flirt every now and then. Why don't you relax and enjoy more of life, old man?You should be grateful to meet me and not the sirens. They can be so....persuasive, " she made a mocking bow before swam to the surface, glass box on clutched on her left hand.

The seas rumbled as they fought. Guardians of giants and of merfolk defending their vast kingdom as the enemies attacked; but they were not armies, but three great Leviathans; sea dragons that had awakened and roamed the seas, destroying ships and devouring sailors. The guardians were losing the battle, and one of the serpentine Leviathans had caught a giant and was about the strike, killing him, when another one grabbed its neck and tail and dragged it away from its victim and slammed it into the earth below. It twisted in its placed and attempted to lock its jaws around the giant, but was only met with a powerful punch from the Sea King Polybotes. He then grabbed its jaws and without much effort twisted its head, its body trapped under his draconic legs, snapping its neck and killing it.

The other two raced towards him, like great snakes ready to devour their prey, leaving the guardians who fell back, for they were not to interfere when their king fought, and with his trident, he struck one down, stabbing it into the earth, and he stabbed the other through the throat, and the threat was passed. He passed through the great gates of his kingdom, his guards after him, helping the wounded.

"Take the wounded to the infirmary. Nurse their injuries." His booming voice ordered the guards before returning to his throne chamber, but before he had taken his seat news came to him that the Shadow Lady and the giant king Niom were seen near his kingdom, then he left his castle once more and sought his giant friend who had made him his great trident.

"Lord Niom!" He bellowed as he neared his friend greetingly, "What do you seek here? It is good to see you, friend."

Niom gave away a small smile in response to the mermaids accusation. Standing up tall he was about to make a witty comeback, in his opinion. Before he could an old face rose from the water in front of his. "Ah King Polybotes, it is always a pleasure to see you again" bowing in proper greetings of another King. "IIII was looking for some Florence stone for my newest work, and this spry mermaid was commenting on my 'lack of fun' or something like that" he spoke sarcastically as he turned his attention back to the mermaid. "I'm sure you know well as I friend that war has blunted my humor, and time has softened my fun, HA, but I am not above it, I personally like a good jest... once I awhile" he quickly looking back to Polybotes for support.

"I cannot judge, for I have not seen you in many years," Polybotes replied, bowing back to his old friend. "But I know what you mean. Come on, friend, tell us a joke!" He added with a sly smile. His eyes wandered beyond the shoulder of his friend and he saw a mermaid, and she was quite familiar; he recognised her, for she was not of his folk, but she lived in his kingdom.
"Florence. I can provide you with that if you come with me; after all, brother, the sea is our realm." For Polybotes considered Niom his brother, and he was very glad to see him. "See our forges! They are not as grand as yours in the mountains, but they are impressive still."

Rocky. That would be the first thing he describe about Underworld. The second thing would be gloomy. He chuckled at his own thought. His vivid imagination had already portrayed Robust shaking his finger and his head in disappointment before light a small fire on his index finger and say, that's not even good enough to be called bad.

The place reeked of bad memories. The hot wind blew against his robes, making it flutter softly over the rocky terrain. His face was black like night, hidden beneath his hood. If one was to look closer, he would found no nose, no eyes. Only a silhouette of a head, staring blankly from the shadow. He couldn't be found now.

From afar, he could see a hoard of demons, fighting a colossal sized beast. Above them, it was only darkness. But of course, they were stripped from their wings. He suddenly felt conscious over his transformed wings on his back. The last winged demon ringed nicely in his ear. But he wasn't there for a nostalgic reason.
He walked slowly, carefully in the Underworld. Attention should only be gained under special circumstance. He didn't need them.

What he need was to find one of the Royal Demon.

"My, my has it really been that long?" He gave Polybotes a shrewd smile "I guess it has, Ha, well if Florence stone and another look at your grand city is what's is being offered, what kind of Giant would I be to refuse" he announced proudly. "I'm sure my administrators can manage without me for awhile, it's a deal than"

She put her box down on the sea bed beside a patch of anemone. It amused her to no extent that Lord Polybotes and the grouchy giant were friend. She never cared much for lower demon herself. Succubus.... well, to say the least, she had some rivalry with them. Always in her thought that giants were creature that protect their territory fiercely and snarled at each other when they met. Maybe she was wrong. She didn't know much about giants, much more about their politics.

"Ah, Lord Polybotes. It's a pleasure to meet you. Care to listen to my new song? I've composed one special for your friend here. "

Nothing would please her more than his decline. The sooner she get alone, the sooner she could emerge from the sea and join her brother.

"Then you should follow me." Polybotes answered his friend's agreement, "And you too, for you live there, unless you wish not to. You could sing your song on the road if you wish, or you could refine it and teach it later." He added, indicating the mermaid with whom he was familiar, before turning and making his way to the vast kingdom of his, which wasn't far from where they were.

When the kingdom's walls and castle came in sight, so did the workers fixing its walls from the damage done by the Leviathans, and Polybotes passed their bodies on the earth below as a school of tiny fish circled around one of them, eating its meat. The grand gates shaped like shells, embedded with gold and great Leviathan bones crafted into spikes, opened as they neared, and closed being them as they entered.

The kingdom was vast, with houses made from smooth sea stones, their doors of brick made on land and windows of glass, and their gardens were filled with corals and trees of the sea; Merfolk swam about, and the children remained indoors or within their gardens, and there were fish and shrimp and many other sea creatures. The road was paved with of gravel that was smooth, and the castle was grand; it was high and mighty with many towers and pires, and in the centre was a great dome of obsidian and sea glass. Polybotes entered the castle and into the vast courtyard beyond it, in which were many artefacts; statues of gods and goddesses of marble and white stone, but he minded that not, and he passed the courtyard and came to a large building outside the castle; he was met with the mouth of a cave, and from it lights came, and he entered. Inside were the great forges, where giants and Merfolk forged and mined, but even though their works were delicate, they weren't nearly as good as those of the giant king beside him.

"Behold, lord Niom, the forges of the Sea!"

Ever a slightly, a smile appeared on her beautiful face. Her appearance changed yet again, this time synchronizing with Lord Polybotes preference. Her hair grew longer, glimmering under the sunlight under the shallow sea. The sooner she could leave their company, the better. Although she would love to sing for him as well...

"I thank you, my lord. But I would like to stay here for the time, " she made a bow before redirecting her attention to the patch of anemone, her sleek body leaning against the glass case. Her pretense interest toward the slow moving animal was convincing; eyes glued toward the floating tentacles, wondering why it moved in such way.

Thankfully, she didn't need to fake her interest for too long. The giants left toward their prized forge before long, and she was free to grabbed her case and raised to the surface, changing her appearance into those of a human. She walked gracefully toward her cabin, storing the glass case with her brother's letter. Her umbrella she took with her and wasn't stored with the rest of her possession.

Once she exited her cabin, she opened her umbrella and let a surge of wind blew her upward. In her shadow form, she was lighter than a single leaf. The wind brought her fast and quick, straight to the Underworld.

At least that was what she intended.

Her parasol, unlike her wings, submit to the whims of a gale, and frail Dinah, unable to put a worthy fight against it, was flown far from her original destination. For hours, she could only see clouds below her, preventing her from knowing what exist beyond. After hours being swayed to and forth by the wind, the clouds thinned and allowed her to see a palace. She didn't know whose was it, but it was better than being up in the air.

She closed her parasol and hoped.
