Marilynn felt as though her question hadn't been answered, but she decided to leave it be. She didn't want to cause any problems. She had just got there, she wanted to make friends. Plus, trouble was not something she dealt with well. She listened to Cleo and nodded her head. If this was the first time something like this was going on, how could they expect it to go? "Well, I hope it's a nice summer. I'm just happy to be away from home for a bit." She admitted.

Marilynn looked around at them all, then heard someone mention cows. She tried to listen to the old farmer as he mentioned that it was mainly hay and barely with a few horses and sheep. At least there were some animals. Hopefully they would get to work with them at some point during the summer. She decided to walk over to the girl and introduce herself. It seemed like she liked animals as well.

"Hi, I'm Marilynn, but you can call me Mari or Lynn." She stuck her hand out as she introduced herself to Adrienne.

Some food would be great to start off the day, Adrienne mentally agreed. Aside from some strawberries, she hadn't had anything to eat. However, before she could find her way to the farm, a girl who was a few inches shorter than she was, and with the loveliest face, came up and greeted her. It's been quite sometime since she spoke to someone near her age that wasn't related by family, and that knowledge cause her to smile, her lips curving upwards in delight.

"Hi Mari! Pleasure to meet you! I'm Adrienne Von Fleuralkratz! 19 and you can call me by anything that you like!" She spoke excitedly, her voice still calm but the energy behind it undeniable. She paused for a moment, and with comedic timing, added, " That is based on my name off course. Can't have people calling me the 'dabmeister' or something." She ended with a fake cringe at the thought.

"make sure to stay safe there, and try to enjoy your time." yeah, definitely, he's going to have fun. so much fun working at the field. "yeah, s'gonna be great. yeah..." she could probably tell that he wasn't as enthusiastic about it, but she had to expect it, right, placing him in a situation where he'll probably have no access to wifi or aircon? mom gives him a look, brows furrowed in concern. "don't be too down about it. think of it as a chance to make some friends and develop some values." he groans.

nothing wrong with her intentions, but! it's misplaced. there's absolutely nothing wrong with only meeting up with his friends around once a year or something. none of them really wanted to go out during the summer, and neither did he, but good ol' mom, she's the worrier, assuming that his friends don't care for him or something. he can't really fault her for the maternal affection, he supposes, though if anyone's going to get the axe, it's gotta be mom's friend. why'd she have to suggest this of all things? why not an art seminar or some acting troupe workshop thing? those could at least have the potential to be a little fun.

"oh look, we're here! see, they're already gathering!" he peeks out at the group of kiddies, grimacing. they were a bit late going here, but he was still kinda hoping that they made it. hopefully, the camp head isn't some prick about tardiness. "i already had alma fix up your things over at the farm, so there's no worries on that end." "fixed my what"—oh right, the most important piece of information: he's going to be staying at this dump for the rest of summer. he just hopes their bathrooms are clean, maybe equipped with bidets if he's lucky.

he gives mom a kiss on the cheek, a quickly-mumbled "love you, mom, i'll call later", and heads out after the group before she starts on the cheesy waterworks. (no offence, mom.) they're all in one spot, so he rushes there, clutching his shoulder bag in his nervousness. "uh, sorry i'm late."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Adrienne." Marilynn nodded her head at the girl and gave her a smile. She heard her go on and listened, shaking her head a little and chuckled a bit. "I don't think I could call you dabmeister, so no worries there." She put her hand up as if to surrender. She looked at the group around them. "Do you think this summer is going to be okay?" She asked, feeling her nerves finally starting to get to the best of her. What if everyone hated her? What if people were trying to cause trouble so it ended early? She didn't want to go home on bad terms, otherwise her mother would be furious. And she couldn't stay and bother her grandparents the entire summer.

She heard another noise while she was lost in thought. It brought her back to reality and she felt herself starting to calm down. She saw a young boy and looked him over. He didn't seem to be thrilled to be there, she wondered if his parents had drug him here too. It seemed most of the parents had, just like hers. Although she was the one who had suggested this camp, her mother didn't care where she ended up.

Aaron crossed his arms and looked around at some of the people, to see who he might want to talk to. He thought he might like to introduce himself to the girl named Marilynn, since she seemed happy to be there. But she was already speaking with one of the other girls, and he felt like he'd be barging in if he went over there. As he observed, Aaron heard a vehicle approach, then a car door. The next thing he knew, he heard a voice, a male voice, apologizing for being late. Aaron turned around to see the new boy.

"Heh, relax mate," Aaron extended his hand, and a slight smile, "we're just getting a bit to eat and drink."

"I'm sure the summer will turn out eventful." Adrienne said diplomatically. Senora Honora once told her never to make statements that she couldn't back up with some truth. People will trust you less if you say something false, even if out of uncertainty, she would say. Easier said than done, Adrienne thought to herself, the old woman barely said a word so she would never have to run into that problem.

"You know, thinking of the end of summer makes me think of..." She snapped her fingers as she tried to remember what was ringing in her mind to say,
"Hang your hat on the peg
Rest up, rest up
Fling your coat on the bed
For you have travelled many miles to see me.

Rest your feet on the bench
Rest up, rest up
Heave off your heavy boots
For you have come through winter days to see me.

Settle down by the fire
Rest up, rest up
Lean back and smile at me
For after all this time and travelling
Oh traveller, I'm glad to see you." She recited, remebering the lines as she read it once and remembered it in her heart over and over again. "I always found that poem quite enjoyable, even when I first read it as a child." She commented to herself, but also explaining to Marilynn why she just uttered a poem out of nowhere. She saw that Marilynn was looking to the direction of a boy and her curiosity flared a bit.

"A friend of yours?" She asked, she wondered if she could tease her that it might be one of those 'crushes at first sight' thing. But, she'll reserve that for later if things ever develop in that manner.

ah, fckin... it's kelly. their presence is nostalgic, and it's consoling to know that he's not the only one who's going to be shovelling dirt and sht. always best to suffer in groups, as they say. he probably would've been in an even better mood than now if kelly over there wasn't part of his dilemma. as decent as the guy is in general, he's not going to forget that kelly's the source that lead him to spending his precious summer time outdoors in great ireland.

"yeah, cheers, mate." he grunts out. the bitterness was completely sub-conscious, he swears. regardless of the conscious intention, though, he's pretty sure that he'll come to regret it later one if he continues acting like a whiny -ss to the only familiar and friendly face around. he'll just have to, i dunno, visualise this with the same amount of empathy towards mom. let's rationalise this: there's no need to make an enemy out of a guy who (probably) meant well.

let's limit my debbie-downer to maybe twice a day, m'kay? yeah, let's get out there and socialise. and sht. starting with kelly. and for his first course of action, he gives the guy's extended hand a high-five. admittedly, a bit late (and kinda awkward, now that i think 'bout it) but better than just leaving the guy hanging, right? "so, food. i mean, i already had some mcdo on the way, but checking out my future food options'd be a good idea. you stayin' here at the farm, too?"

Aaron Kelly snorted humorously as he received his acquaintance's high five. It was nice to have some sort of familiar friendly face. Aaron remembered meeting him sometimes since their parents were acquaintances.

"I didn't expect to see you out here, E," Aaron addressed his acquaintance, preferring the first letter of his first name (and sometimes his middle name), "but no man, I have a flat of my own for a time. I talked the parents into it--check it out sometime?" Aaron sensed from his tone that his acquaintance wasn't particularly pleased to be on the Moore farm, but decided to keep it mostly cordial anyhow.

The First Task

As the kids had begun to socialize, the man began to grow increasingly antsy. It was good they were eating at least, but time was ticking. He shared a look with Cleo, then inwardly heaved a sigh. He stepped forward a little, and cleared his throat.

"Er... Can I get your attention, kids?" he spoke out to the group. His voice was gravely, deep and commanding even despite his discomfort. "Firstly, I'm Darragh Moore, though just 'Mr. Moore' is preferable, thank you. Now it's nice that you're chatting and all, but we're wasting daylight. It's time to get to work." Once he was sure he had everyone's attention, he gestured with his head for the group to follow him away from the front lawn. Cleo seemed to stay behind to clear away the leftovers, while Mirella stayed seated. She had been looking more and more pale over the past half hour.

The farmer lead the teens past the parked vehicles, around the side of the building and into the back. It was much more open here, though the ground underfoot changed from soft grass to fairly firm, packed dirt. Two separate barns bordered the space. "Here is the courtyard. You'll become fairly accustomed to this space as I have you clean up around here. Right now, there are... seven of you. I want three of you in the stables," he pointed to the longer, narrower building, "And four of you in the sheep barn," then pointed to the fat building. He opened his mouth to say more, but paused and frowned. Instead he took a moment to fumble through his pockets for something, and eventually pulled out a notebook.

"Alright, uh... Christina, Brian, Aaron. You three go to the stables. When Cleo gets back, she'll show you what to do."

"Micah, Emiya, Marilynn, and Adrienne, you four come with me."

Millie was no where to be found among the group. Instead, she was hidden in the sheep barn. The girl shook a can of spray as she held a sheep in a bitless bridle. The sheep begin to bleat annoyed of her company. "Sit still, Marsha," Millie's head craned right and left as she dyed the sheep's wool pink with the words, "Welcome," Although, Marsha was the most patient sheep, she didn't take all of Millie's mischief kindly. The sheep turned to Millie and launched her head into Millie's stomach. The girl fell backward coughing. "Ok, you win," the girl put a hand over her stomach and stood up. "Let's go say 'hi' to everyone Mrs. Mellow."

Aaron turned towards Mr. Moore once he started speaking. He wasn't sure whether he should hope more for the sheep barn or the stables. He had a bit of experience in the past with sheep, but also kind of admired horses, especially racehorses. These probably weren't going to be racehorses, but still. Naturally, Aaron felt that youngster's apprehension when it came, apparently, to choose groups or volunteer. He was relieved, but a little disappointed, when Mr. Moore made it all quicker and easier for the group. It made sense. He seemed to be down to business. As Aaron heard "Christina" and "Brian," he looked around to put a face to a name. He remembered Christina as the girl who helped open the group up, but which was Brian? It soon became clear that it was the guy with the radio.

How's he going to do farm work with radios? Aaron thought. He hadn't done any farmwork for years but figured some sort of smartphone or MP3 player and earbuds would at least be more practical.

Brian sighed and pulled his wagon down a dirt path towards the stable. Once he reached the area he looked at the place and spit in disgust. "ALRIGHT! IF THIS CLEO DOESN'T GIVE ME A FULL HISTORICAL EXPLANATION AS TO WHY IN THE HELL ROBOTS DON'T DO THIS LABOR INSTEAD OF PEOPLE NOW, THEN SHE WILL HAVE TO GET HER FATHER OVER HERE TO BEAT ME HALF TO DEATH IN ORDER FOR ME TO WORK!!" Brian was super pissed. He simply didn't understand why he was put here. He would rather be in prison. And no that wasn't sarcasm in the slightest. Brian to say the least didn't... give... a... ****.

"You better give me a good explanation cleo." He muttered to himself.

Cleo stepped out of the farmhouse, closing the door behind her. Knowing Mr. Moore was going to give a little introduction, she had taken the chance to both put away the leftovers from breakfast, as well as carry up the luggage of one of the only kids actually staying on the farm. She paused where she stood, shutting her eyes as she took a deep breath, bracing herself for the possibility of having to deal with some rather difficult teenagers. She didn't know who the old farmer would be grouping together, so thinking about potentially being stuck with that emo kid practically gave her a migraine.

She stepped down from the front stoop, ready to go, but suddenly paused, frowning incredulously at the one unfamiliar kid sitting in the front yard.

"...Hang on, who are you?"

Mentioned: Micah ( spookie spookie )

A read haired boy sat idly by his lonesome at the table. He twiddled with his thumbs, as he gazed off down the front yard, and by extension, the road beyond. As the girl walked up to him and spoke, he jumped. He looked at the girl, before an awkward smile arose upon his pale face.

"Oh- I'm Cian, I'm... waiting for everybody to show up," he trailed off, "I'm not too early, am I?"

Cleo slowly narrowed her eyes at him. "You're... late," she began slowly, wondering if this was a joke. "Everyone's probably already gotten started."

She paused, still eyeing him as she slowly stepped off the front step, and made her way over to stand in front of him.

"How long have you been sitting here?"

did... did he not know that his parents landed him here? gotta be shttin' me. he's going to have to clarify that little tidbit later. there was something far more important than that detail. "you lucky lil'... you've-you've got a place of your own? fck you." all said in good humor, of course, but heck, he's definitely going to be crashing at kelly's place sometime. it's probably got better accommodations than the farm. maybe it even has a bidet!

he's about to ask for their address too, but the owner's divided them into separate groups, and with kelly already making his way for their own chores, he supposes he'll just have to ask later. for now, he steps towards the older gentleman's direction as he waits for the rest of his group mates to gather round. it's a lil' awkward just standing around, and watching the fields isn't particularly interesting, so he decides for small talk. it'll probably help to get the owner to see him as agreeable, especially since he was a late-comer. "so. what'll we be doin' today? should i get my hat and gloves or something?" yeah, newly bought hat and gloves specially for him. mom was very protective and insisted on shopping out, though maybe that might have been just her wanting to spend the remaining time he had left back home.

The man eyed Emiya warily for a moment as he approached, and listened to his question with a slight brow raise. He eased fairly quickly though, acknowledging that it was a fair and reasonable question. "Well, you probably won't need a hat yet, since we'll mostly be working inside. We've gotta clean out the sheep barn, which I do biannually. What kind of gloves do you have?" he asked, glancing down at the boy.

Cian blinked at the woman. "It... huh..." he glanced away, a puzzled look took over his features.

"I've been here... maybe an hour? I legit thought I was just early." He explained as he stood from the table. He walked over to the girl, and offered his hand.

"So... where do I start...? Do I have sign anything, or is this just a first come first serve sort of deal?"

She was about to shake his hand, but his next words made her pause again. With her hand hovering in the air, she squinted at him in disbelief. "Did... you not sign up? You were supposed to call or send an email like, at least a week ago."

Cleo couldn't even form a solid impression of the guy. Was he a moron, or just flighty?

He raised his brow. "Noooo...? Was I suppose to?" He asked in utter confusion. He then shrugged. "My bad. It's not too late to join in, is it?" He walked to the girl's side, ready to follow.

Unbelievable. She wasn't even sure how to respond, and instead heaved a sigh and shook her head, muttering for him to follow. She lead the weirdo around back, where they would quickly spot the group.

Cleo had to steal Mr. Moore away for a moment from a kid who was asking him about the day. As she quietly explained the situation, the man seemed to mimic her expression. He furrowed his brow in concern, before dragging a hand over his face once she had finished. He shook his head dismissively, and simply told her to take him with her to the stables with the other three kids.

"It looks like you're fine," Cleo said, turning back to Cian. "Though you really should make sure to read the entire advertisement next time you want to sign up for something," she added critically. But she turned away from him before he could say anything more, and gestured for him to continue to walk with her as she headed for the horse stables. She hadn't heard Brian's comment from before, and having introduced herself to the group before, she simply signaled for her other kids to follow as well.

sorry i haven't replied in a while. im back in business for the time being ^^

what kinda gloves? farming gloves, what else? well, hopefully, they're the right kind for the job. he and his mom didn't really do much research on whether there are different types of gloves for different farming activities or whatever. they just went with whatever retail gave 'em. "hold one sec, gonna get 'em. they're, uh, in my..." he doesn't think that it took him that long to rummage through, that's what he's hoping for, but by the time he's got the black pair on his hands, the man's gone from his spot, now addressing one of the other kids. guess that's the end for that.

i could skip. but he won't. not today at least. instead, he calls out for his group. "micah here? or marilynn? adrienne?"
