A poke option?

You know what would be an alright idea? Having the ability to "Poke" other users. When you poke somebody, you could also state a reason for poking someone. Whether it be to reply to a private message or a thread, or some other reason. (Like I said, it's just an idea.)


Lets say that "Person A" has poked "Person B". Person B will receive an alert saying "Person A has poked you." Person B then has the choice to either poke back or do nothing.


What do people think of this idea?

I think a private message serves the same purpose to be honest. To "poke" would get rather annoying since in all honesty, some folks will just spam the button & I will have 7,000 alerts in the morning =(


I will research other possible options however.
