Fantasy A Looming Threat

The Kingdom of Lyrantia was a prosperous kingdom with many thinks to be said for it. The land was beautiful and the royal family wasn’t like the typical royal family. They were kind to their citizens and they aided them when they could. They weren’t above getting their hands dirty. They instilled this in their daughter, Princess Aurelia, who loved to take care of the farms and while she wasn’t the best, could hold her own when caring for plants and animals.

Tonight Princess Aurelia was sitting in her room brushing her hair as to get tangles out of her hair before tonight’s event. Tonight the magician was going to be putting on a small show in the courtyard for the royal family and many of the commoners in the town surrounding the castle. It was a way of letting the commoners relax after a tough day working.

While the kingdom itself was known for it’s farming goods, the town the castle was in was actually a mining town. Right under the castle was a fairly successful mine that produced many gems, which were used in weapons, jewels, and the crowns/tiaras for the royal family. They were also used to adorn clothing for the more wealthy, but occasionally a commoner could find a dress adorned with such jewels.

Aurelia soon arose from her seat infront of her mirror and smiled a bit as she looked at her nightwear. Tonight they were allowed to go in whatever they wanted as tonight was for entertainment, not some fancy event where the royal family mandated people to come dressed. After all, the show was meant to relax those in the kingdom and provide laughs and smiles on their faces.

So, as the princess descended the stairs to the courtyard she smiled happily as she looked at everyone who was sitting on blankets and comforting young children who were up way past their bedtimes, all to see this show. Some of the children would fall asleep during the performance.

Hello ? Anyone ? It's quite dark here ..." a figure says in complete darkness to itself . The problem is not where is he , but what is he ?

Lacking the feeling of self control as the strings on his body completely dictates his feelings , his voice , his life ... the creature itself is blind naturally as it's eyes were taken from him to not see what he has been controlled to do .. a puppet as a fool .

He sits alone for days without end of any food but why does it matter , the magician thinks of him as a object and not a being tho a being he may be he is more of a beast in shackles than anything else ...


Meanwhile Larry the farmer finished his stockpile check for the night on the produce and animals , making sure everything is secure and safe before getting dressed and cleaning itself the best he could . For peaseants he couldn't have a bath like royalty so he will have to make due with the trough outside.

He did all he could to clean the grime off of his peasant clothes and decided to head off to the magical show , it seems kinda intresting if the choice of the magician tho a bit skeptical of his talents and methods in magic .

He arrived at the palace to sit one row up from the princess upon a large log he decided to sit ontop of . Waiting for the Performance.

Aurelia sat herself on a small log, same as everyone else. While she was royalty tonight was the time that they were to not focus on their royal titles and to just enjoy a show with the commoners. Her parents always sat on either side of her, something they had been doing since she was a child. After all, their only daughter and child was someone they so deeply wanted to protect.

Queen Trisha sat on the right side of her daughter and smiled happily. “Such a simple dress.” She said as she looked at her daughter and sighed happily. “Enjoy the show my love.” She said as she kissed her head carefully.

Her father, King Louis, was sitting to her left and looked at his wife and daughter laughing happily as he watched them. “Stop doting on her Trisha.” He said smiling happily as he looked at his daughter. “She will one day be Queen and that will be when we can’t baby anymore.” He said smiling as he rubbed his daughters head.

Aurelia giggled as she looked at her parents, “oh please stop acting like I’m not here.” She said smiling as she looked at her parents and giggled happily.

Soon someone came out to the balcony and smiled happily, “hello everyone!” He said smiling happily as he looked at the guests. “The show is just about to start! We are sorry for the delay.” He said smiling as today wasn’t just any normal day. It was the Princesses birthday, a special occasion that only happened one a year of course.

These events were always held on special days, such as holidays, a royals birthday, as well as various events the royal family held throughout the year.

Larry quickly fell asleep during the long wait and for the meantime just plopped onto the grassy floor snoring softly from all the aching muscles he worked out in the fields .

At the meantime the creature has been hearing the commotion about what is going on but feels helpless ... scared ... not that others are talking but that he can't do anything about what is going on .

He tries and tries all he can to struggle but there is no use ... he has no control whatsoever , Black tears leaking out of the eye sockets he cry's that he was weak and unable to resist

During the wait, someone had slipped into the castle grounds and up to where the magician held the puppet and looked at it longingly. This person wore a black robe with a hood pulled up and over to cover their face so that no one could see the face. The person slowly lifted the puppet up and wiped the black tears from the eye sockets. “Not today,” the voice said as it looked at the puppet a little longer.

Soon the person pulled out a knife and set the puppet down softly. Soon the knife severed the strings ties to the puppet and the man looked to it for a moment before knowing that they better get out of here before this thing truly woke up.

Of course the magician soon came back to find her puppet, only to find that all that was there was the strings and the controlling mechanism and her eyes grew wound. “Oh sweet lords no.” She said before she quickly ran out quickly and gulped as this wasn’t good. The puppet was loose somewhere and that spelt danger.

Aurelia looked to her parents, “mother, father... why is this taking so long?” She asked curiously and her parents looked at her. “YOu know how the mages can be.” Queen Trisha said smiling softly as she looked at her daughter.

Of course though there was trouble when the mage came out on stage empty handed. “I am deeply sorry, but tonight’s event must be cancelled.” She said as she felt bad, and knew it would be her head if she didn’t explain herself. “It seems that I’ve lost my trusty puppet.” She said knowing that King Louis would know what that meant.

Soon King Louis joined the magician up on the balcony and smiled softly. “If everyone would love to come inside for some hot chocolate on this cool night we will have the servers make some. Please, I am sorry about the cancellation so late and wish for you not to go home empty handed.” He said smiling happily as even when he was stressed he was good at hiding it.

As the puppet was freshly cut of the strings he grew in size until he reached the size of a six foot being . As the strings were cut he was more awoken and responsive than usual , making a fist before releasing . He was astonished that he could feel , he could move ......he can kill...

Within under a minute he finally risen up on both two legs and starts to kiss the wall from wobbling around blindly . Walking out of the room and managing to hide in a different room

By the time that the puppeteer magician has discovered the incident he has got out to roam down the halls curiously , smelling the people nearby to feast on , drooling with anticipation .

He starts to growl lightly as he notices and saw the crowds flood in the ballroom as he decides to blend in , vengeance for the royal family was the main aspect .

Upon seeing the king and queen he makes a V line walk through the crowds to make his way to the royal family , seemingly like in a fast paced walk

Guards were on their guards as they got an order from the king to keep vigilant and be aware of things that looked out of place, off even. It wasn’t like they were going to let the family be in danger. They wanted to keep them safe and with the puppet on the loose that would spell trouble.

Soon of course they noticed something odd, not human, making its way towards the crown and they quickly took places on either side. Regardless they would protect both the royal family and the guests. So if that meant boxing this thing in in order to take it down they would do it.

Of course Aurelia was completely unaware as the royal family had been moved a bit in order to make sure that they were in to welcome the guests in. They had hidden themselves among the people by removing their crowns and such in order to blend in a bit better.

Aurelia wasn’t sure why her father did such a thing, but he did and as a result she looked like any normal girl in regards to appearance. She might look a bit cleaner than most, but not many would notice.

King Arthur looked at his daughter and smiled softly as he rubbed her head. “Remain vigilant my daughter.” He said as they welcomed guests into the massive ballroom for some hot chocllate in this cold night.

Queen Liana looked to her husband and sighed as she was worried about all this. After all, it could go after the guests too and while keeping Aurelia protected was more important, She didn’t want any of the people getting hurt either. She hated to put herself and everyone else above others that were equally in danger.

The creature starts smelling the air for the royal blood , only tri find himself lost in the senses of all the stench of the people

Upon hé stenches disorientating him he starts to wobble , feeling so much movement overstimulated him as he faces a clanking guard , armoires and closest to the royal family made him lungs for the guard that approached him and ripped out both of his eyeballs only to run away in a full scale retreat out of the castle , lunging off ledges and entering to the maze of a garden that is of the royal family ,

Queen Liana held her daughter close and of course she looked at the guard who took a hit for them and watched him closely. "Oh god," she said as she covered her daughters eyes and looked at her husband crying.

King Arthur went to the mans side and sighed as he shook his head. "I'm so sorry Therion." He whispered as he looked at him and sighed as he shook his head as he felt awful for what happened to the guard, who was fresh out of training and this had been his first shift. He sighed as he shook his head a bit and then stood tall. "Make sure the guests are calm." He said as he looked at his wife, who nodded her head before heading into the room and checking on all the guests.

Upon the bushes and laborynyh of the royal garden the creature finally sits to take a breath , pulling out of his pocket the eyes of the guard .

The victim was a worthy sacrifice as he placed the eyeballs to his sockets , the once pearly white eyes becoming consumed in color by the black abyss as he finally retains sight ,

The ability to see was not only a great experience but also a scary one . The world he has visioned was not at all what it seemed to be and the colors were all so different . It was amazing as well as he is blessed with the ability to witness such things in awe that he has to over compensate with his other senses .

From looking all and about he slowly rises up to look at himself in horror . A beast , a monster , a killer .. " what ... am .. I? " he says shakily , very nervous of his voice as he looks at it with great fear

Aurelia sighed as she sat down with her parents once everything was kind of calming down. She sighed as she played with what she was eating and poked at it with a fork. “Father what happened?” She asked as she looked at her father as she was still confused about what was going on.

Arthur looked to his daughter and sighed a bit, “it is nothing to worry about my darling girl.” He said as he smiled softly to her and tried to move on from the subject.

Aurelia looked at her father and rolled her eyes, “father, what happened to Therion?” She asked and Arthur sighed and looked at his daughter. “Therion will be back... he’s just taking a few days leave.” He lies as he looked st his daughter. “He is going to talk to his family about going back there for a few days.” He said smiling as he was worried about his daughters interest.

Upon gaining this new view on reality through his vision he starts panting like a wild wolf , he was hungry and rightfully so ..

Slipping out of the maze garden he starts to sniff around for the discarded and dead to feed off of ( he is a décomposer or scavenger) but only winds himself pointing his snout in the direction of the castle yet once again .

The way up safely was filled with guards and trouble but his claws were not made for a lovely stroll . He latched onto the side of the castle walls and climbs up foot by foot until he reaches inside , scampering around the halls and rooms until he finally found the corpse ... in the basement.

The fresh and cold corpse was appetizing but still has his shell of armor ontop so the creature delicately sliced off the armor straps but with a fatal mistake , the breastplate fell onto the stone floor making a loud clanging sound " oh no .." he mumbled as he struggles to drag the corpse away
