Haven and Kyte were childhood friends. Haven was 7 at that time and Kyte was 10. They were like brother and sister, always together, playing until they're full of dirt.

They've been together for years since their moms were best friends. However, because of some personal problems, Muse A had to leave and move houses. Not being able to bid farewell, Muse B was so depressed, crying all night after waiting at their usual playground.

Even Haven was full of guilt since she did not even say a word to him, knowing that she won't be able to leave if she saw his eyes, not wanting her to go. However, even if still clueless with love, her heart was left to him and only him.

10 years had passed and Haven is 17 while Kyte is 20. Little did they know that they were living in the same neighborhood since Kyte's mother died and was left with his grand mother. Both of them missed each other so much but they didn't know where, when and how they could see each other again.

Since Haven is a college graduate and is a newbie in the neighborhood, he fixed his things in the apartment and helped her grandmother in cleaning everything. It was night and all was left to clean was his room. He opened the window for a little air and for a little light from the moon.

He took a deep breath and rested for a moment, taking in the view of the stars, making him remember all about the precious times he had with his childhood friend and his mom, wishing in the stars hoping that they're both okay. Kyte took a sigh and noticed a girl, also viewing the starry night above them. She looked familiar as her eyes glow, reflecting the light of the moon.

Haven took a sigh as well and noticed a guy staring at her. He looked familiar as well though both of them were not sure if they were right about each other.

Is fate finally on their side? Or would it be cruel enough to hinder any developing feelings?

Kyte looked at the girl with his usual deadpan face. He felt like he knew this girl somehow, but he couldn't quite put a finger on it. "Who are you?" He thought to himself as he waved awkwardly, his uninterested look still on his face. Kyte then turned away and plopped down onto his bed. He couldn't get that girl's look out of his head. It was something about those eyes that reminded him of someone he knew in the past. He eventually went to bed, having to go to work at his part-time job at cafe in the morning since it was the weekend with no classes.

The beautiful night sky

Haven was looking at the sky, mesmerizing the twinkling of the stars. It made her reminisce the times where she was happy with her childhood friend. She was so jealous of her old self. She wanted to stay that way, where she can laugh without even worrying about anything. However, even if she was as cheerful as then, Haven thought that she can never laugh and feel the same way again, because of all the guilt she felt when she never said a word to her old friend.

The beautiful view gave her courage and assurance thinking that all hard works pay off. As the cold breeze passes through her skin, she saw someone at the corner of her eye, slightly waving at her. The figure reminded her of someone although she can't point out who and she wasn't really sure if she was right about it. She turned to the man and gave him a sly smile. Haven thought that it was a little weird to interact with a stranger from another apartment but she didn't wanted to make that person think that she's a snob which is why she thought of paying him back with a smile.

She then closed the window and went back to her bed. Since it's week end when she awakes, Haven thought of going to some grocery store nearby since she wanted to add up some lacking things in her house and especially the food. Her parents went on a trip so she was left all alone and just gave her some money for school and other personal uses. Haven wrote a list of the things she needed to buy and lied down on her comfy bed. She just wished something good and happy would happen when she wakes up.

Kyte was abruptly woken by his phone's alarm. He groggily got up from bed to check the time. 6:15. He had 30 minutes til his shift started at the cafe. "Crap," he said to himself as he hurriedly rushed to the bathroom to freshen himself up. Kyte checked on his grandmother to see if she was still asleep. After seeing that she was okay, he got to his car and drove down to the cafe.

As Kyte arrived at the cafe, putting on his waiter's apron as he entered. "Alright, I'm here," he said as he walked in the door.

"You're almost late," retorted Susan, his co-worker.

"Meh," he responded, going to the back room to clock in, coming back out with a pad of paper to take orders with.

Date on a café!!

Haven woke up at 7, yawning as she stretches her arms. She brushed her short hair with her hands and slightly pulled back a section on her ear. She walked towards the window and separated the curtains, a bright light from the sun, passing through the window. The warm feeling of the light was likeable for her.

When suddenly, BRRRRRT. Haven heard a vibration from her phone so she quickly took it and answered the call.
"Hey, it's me Luke."
"Oh hey. Why the early call?"
"Uhh... I just wanted to ask you out on a date? I haven't seen you since we moved houses."
"Oh.. uhh.. yeah sure then. I'll get ready."
"Okay, meet me at the café. I'll tell you the directions later."
"Okay sure."

Haven hanged up the phone and placed it back on the side table. She took a simple white dress and balmed her lips since it easily gets dry. Maybe I should just go to the grocery tomorrow. She thought to herself as she placed the list inside the drawer. She went outside and took the keys with her after locking the door, placing it inside her wallet.

She went down the apartment and followed the directions that her boyfriend gave her. Haven mustered herself up because she's not that good with streets and directions. She was used to being escorted by her dad every school days, but since they went on a trip, no one can guide her along the way. After a few minutes later, she got lost in a certain street, panicking as she didn't know what to do. Haven asked some people about the café, and luckily she got there safely because she just needed to turn to her right and walk a few steps.

Haven then carefully went inside the café and walked towards the empty table. The lovely smell of coffee and sweets made her feel all thirsty and hungry. Trying to resist the grumbling of her stomach, she sighed to herself and waited for her date.

Susan noticed someone enter the cafe and take a seat at a vacant table. Grabbing her order pad, she approached the young girl and asked, "Hey, there, good morning! Would you like me to get you some water or coffee to get started?"

Meanwhile, Kyte was working behind the counter, grabbing treats from the kitchen window and putting them behind the display case. "Take Five" was playing in the background and he, being a fan of jazz music, whistled the saxophone line as he worked. Kyte debated pulling out his own saxophone from the back room later when more people were around to hear.

Date on a cafe!! 2

Haven was just looking around, feeling jealous of the people having fun with their sweets and drinks. Then suddenly, a voice was heard behind her.

"Hey, there, good morning! Would you like me to get you some water or coffee to get started?" A woman with short brown hair asked.

"Oh... yeah sure I'd like some coffee. Kindly add some sugar and cream. I'm not good with bitter things." Haven replied and giggled, smiling at her kindly as she took her order.

She then heard a song, not really familiar to her but it was pleasing to her ears as it matches the aura of the cafe. Haven gently closed her eyes and matched her sways on the music. She really appreciated, making her forget the craving she felt as she looked at the sweets being eaten.

As Haven was being taken by the song, she heard a whistle nearby, lining up the saxophone. She remembered the time where her old friend used to whistle. Though Haven wasn't that good in whistling, she admired that so much from her friend since she was so frustrated on how to do it.

She followed it and asked some people in the counter who was the person who entered the room. Her heart was beating fast as she got closer from the sound.
Her phone suddenly rang, startling her. It was a call from her date so she took a step back and turned away.

"You got it, Miss," Susan said before going behind the counter to grab the young lady's coffee.

In the meantime, Kyte heard a young girl ask a question, standing up to see who asked. Seeing that the only person standing at the counter was someone who was turned around, answering her phone. He then saw Susan come around to make a cup of coffee. "So, I heard you were going to that Pokémon tournament on Sunday," he said to his co-worker as he closed the display case.

"
It's a Yu-gi-oh tournament, and please don't say that out loud," Susan mumbled, gently jabbing Kyte's arm. "My other friends poke at me for that already. And besides, I know you're interested in trying it out."

"Obviously," he replied in a sarcastic tone.

"
By the way, Kyte, how's your grandmother?"

"She's as active as ever. She's not that old yet." Kyte then received a text. It was from his jazz band mates saying that they'd stop by the cafe. The cafe already had a little corner stage with a piano and drum set stowed away along the wall.
