Realistic or Modern A Beauty and a Beast...

Retro-Grey

Dope as F*ck
Adrian Villanueva, a Chicago boy, born and raised. Adrian was a graduate of Harvard University with a bachelors in psychology, a promising young man who had everything going for him. That is until he testified against his own father, Marco Villanueva, a notorious mob boss responsible for one of the biggest drug-trafficking scandals of the century. Now he was living under the name Charles Harrison in Brooklyn, New York. (What I'll refer to him as)

Charles walked the tiles of the dingy old diner located a few miles out of New York City. The same tiles he has walked everyday for 4 years. Life wasn't hard for the 26 year old, it was just tedious compared to what it was like before he had worked at the diner. Then again, if you were raised by the sixth most wanted man in the nation, everything would seem dull in comparison. Maybe today was just a slow start for Charles.

"Hey Charlie, you're here early... as usual" A feminine voice said from behind Charles. His head whipped around slowly as his left hand reached for the handle of a broomstick that laid against the diner's left most wall. Charles watched as the girl rounded the long countertop that was parallel to the entrance door.

"What's that saying about the early bird, Martha?" Charles asked rhetorically with a very subtle smile. The girl would laugh from behind the counter.

"What worm are you planning to get Charlie?" Martha piped up as chipper as can be. Charles began to sweep.

"No worms" Charles knew immediately he was lying, the 'worm' that Martha had referred to was a regular customer. A rookie officer.

"She's a pretty young thing, isn't she Charlie?" Martha's statement interrupted Charles' train of thought. They were still on the same subject and Charles knew the answer to that question.

He didn't answer. The sweeping was done and Charles was momentarily distracted as the bell above the diner entrance rang. His head snapped to see who had arrived. It wasn't her. Martha chuckled as she watched the young man wait anxiously. Today was gonna be a slow day.
