[1x1] Untouchable

Klutzy Ninja Kitty

The Fluffy Awwwsassin
Untouchable a ghost princess x knight roleplay

A knight is ordered to travel with a princess and take her to a new kingdom where she is to be wed in an arranged marriage. Along the way, the two are attacked and the princess is killed. The knight, secretly being a powerful sorcerer, acts quickly. He binds the soul of the princess to an amulet. The princess is then trapped in a ghost form and has to go wherever the pendant is taken. Sorcery is against the law of the land, so the knight asks the princess she not tell anyone he has these abilities. The knight and the princess then must seek a way to revive her in a new body and quickly arrive to her new home in time for her to be married.

We will be following RpNation's rules.

Characters:

Hardly able to hang onto his horse, a young man rode as fast as he could while fighting the beastly winds of a brewing storm. He couldn't feel the rain against his body because of the thick, metallic armor he wore, but could most definitely feel the droplets of rain fly in his face, eyes, and blond hair as he moved along. The wind, rain, and occasional sound of crashing thunder was so distracting he could barely hear himself think, but the blue-eyed knight--Micah--continued to ride his horse along, braving out the bad weather. His task was far too important to stop for.

Micah and a small handful of other knights had been entrusted to leaving their home kingdom of Shadewyn and making their way to pick up a princess from a neighboring kingdom. She wasn't just any princess either. She was a very important young woman who was to wed the prince of Shadewyn, uniting the kingdoms through a peaceful arranged marriage. If he did not make it safely to the princess' kingdom, pick her up, and escort her to Shadewyn the king would surely have his head--or worse, a war could start.

Unfortunately, the trip was long and dangerous. Out of the five men who had started the journey together, Micah was the only knight left who had survived. The reason for his survival, however, was because of a secret the young knight shared with nobody. For if he did, his own life would have been in grave danger...

A whinny in distress from his horse shook Micah from his thoughts. The blond patted the side of his head, stroking his mane to try and keep him calm as they continued along. "Don't worry, boy, we're almost there."

Thankfully, Micah was right. A short time later, Micah saw the castle which was his destination in the distance, speeding up when he did so. When he arrived at the castle gates, he spoke with the guards, telling them who he was and where he was from. The guards looked to each other before nodding and letting him in. They took his horse for him and began to lead him inside to the throne room where the princess and king resided. He bit his lip, hoping the king wouldn't have him leave with the princess tonight. More than anything, he hoped they could at least wait until morning to see if the storm would pass.

Violet looked around the at the ornate walls and furniture that decorated her spacious room. Yet, the girl sighed audibly as she knew she might not see this place again for a long time. The princess sprawled across her small throne and stared at the ceiling. This was the end of her life as she knew it. This time next week, she would be in some other palace with some strange man she had never met, forced to treat him with respect and love, all for the sake of politics. Violet gave an unladylike snort as she thought of her current situation.

But it'll be okay... she thought to herself. She would never make it that far, for she planned to run away before getting it to her wedding. She just had to comply for now and then wait for an opportunity. Though she was determined, she was a little afraid. Violet had never lived anywhere else or even went out of the palace much, so she wasn't sure what to expect from the rest of the world. But this could be her only chance. Violet's parents refused to change their minds about her marriage; she had tried to convince them several times now.

"Violet, sit up. What are you doing?" she heard her father say. "Sorry..." she mumbled, fixing her posture. Just then, the heavy doors swung open to reveal one of the servants and a young man drenched from rainwater. Violet narrowed her eyes. It was rude to enter the throne rom looking like such a mess- everyone knew that. "This is the party sent from Shadewyn?" the king asked, seeming a little surprised. "Yes, your majesty. Forgive me for not tending to him, but I believe you requested to see them upon arrival," the servant explained.

"Welcome, we appreciate you coming." The king rose from his seat and looked at the young man. "Were you the only one sent on this mission?" he asked. "This is my daughter and the princess." He gestured to Violet, motioning for her to stand as well. Violet did as told and nodded respectfully to the knight. "Pleased to meet you, good sir. We thank you for your hard work." Then the king called for servants, instructing them to take care of Micah- to prepare lodgings and clean clothes for him. "Please dine with us once you have had a chance to refresh," the king told the young man. "If you need anything, do not hesitate to call for a servant."

(Sorry, busy day yesterday so I didn't get to reply, but here's one now! Loved your first reply. ^_^ )

As Micah followed the guards through the hallways, he barely noticed the sound of his own footsteps over that of the dripping water that rolled down his armor. The young knight was wet from his head down to his toes. Even his hair was soaked to the brim, causing it be flat against his head. The blond couldn't wait until he was able to rest and dry off.

Eventually, the guards turned Micah over to a simple castle maid who was to take him the rest of the way to the king's throne room. He greeted her politely and continued to walk along, noticing her look back at him once or twice. "Is there anything I can get you?" she asked, looking at him sympathetically. Micah must have looked very tired.

"No thank you; I'll be all right for now. I think the king wanted to see me right away," he replied. "But after I'm done speaking with the king, a towel would be nice." He really wanted to dry off. Micah as almost certain his armor had water trapped in it in some places.

After a moment longer of strolling through the decorative hallways, the servant arrived in front of two gold trimmed doors with gorgeous murals painted on the front. At a passing glance Micah thought they may have been portraits of past kings, but he really didn't get enough time to study them when the servant opened the doors. When they walked inside and made it before the king, Micah politely bowed while the servant explained to the king why he looked unattended to. After she was done speaking, Micah stood back up to reply to the king's greeting.

"I appreciate the warm welcome, your highness. My name is Micah Rastelli," replied the young knight. "I was not the only one who first came on this mission, sadly the others who came with me perished. It is a very dangerous journey, but I know these lands better than the others who did not survive. It is a pleasure to meet both you and the princess. I would be happy to dine with you this evening after I am more presentable." He glanced down at himself with a frown, glad the king was allowing him a chance to clean up.

(Aw, thank you- I loved yours as well! It's okay- you don't need to apologize! And if shorter posts would be better for you, it's good with me too. I'll match whatever you write :)

The king nodded gravely when Micah said that the others in his party had not survived. Violet, on the other hand, looked horrified. "Why, you're really going to send me out there?" she asked her father. "Sending me out in the deadly wilderness to marry a man I've never met with only a single measly knight as protection? Some parents you are!" she huffed, quickly turning on her heel and leaving the throne room. The king smiled apologetically to Micah and instructed for his servants to tend to the man. "I'm sorry about that," he said. "She's really not so bad, just speaks her mind a little too often," he chuckled lightly, though he was truly displeased with his daughter's rude behavior.

Violet folded her arms and rushed around the castle, trying to avoid detection from her father. She had to better prepare herself if she really had to take such a dangerous journey, but if her father caught her, she knew he would scold her tremendously. Violet quickly made her way to the kitchen where the staff was finishing with dinner preparation. The servants gave her curious looks but stayed out of her way as she sifted through the drawers. Violet grabbed a whole set of silverware, but when she tried to lift it, she struggled with the heavy case.

"Your Highness, can I help you with something?" the head chef dared to ask. Violet frowned as she realized she could not carry all of this. "If you have any spare silverware that we don't often use, I would like to have it. A sort of souvenir from the palace, if you will." Violet smiled charmingly at the chef's confused expression. "Ah...of course, My Lady," he said. The man packaged several utensils in a cloth and handed it to the girl. "Good luck," he told her. Violet put a small hand on top of his larger one and thanked him sincerely, for he had always treated her kindly, and she would miss him admittedly. Her next task would be more difficult- she would have to wait until nightfall in order to sneak out to the armory and grab a bow and a quiver full of arrows. But if she had to go, then this would make her feel more comfortable.

The servant showed Micah to a room and laid out some fresh clothes. "Please feel free to bathe and change into some clean clothes, Sir. I will be right outside the door if you should need any help." The servant bowed and exited the room, but before she closed the door, she whispered to he knight. "The Princess can be a bit of a handful," she warned him quietly. "You'd best keep an eye on her- she might do something reckless and cause trouble."

(Thanks! Shorter posts are great with me! I like them better actually. This reply here is on the long-ish side. But since I know you're okay with it, I'll start making them smaller now :3 Feel free to do the same! )

To be honest, Micah wasn't surprised in the slightest at Princess Violet's reaction. She was a girl who was going to be taken away from the only home she had ever known to marry a stranger. How could she not have felt upset? The only thing Micah was surprised about, however, was the fact she had voiced her feelings. Most women were docile when it came to arranged marriages, even if they didn't want to do them. The outburst was a bit different, especially coming from a princess. It didn't bother him in the slightest though.

"It isn't a problem at all, your highness," Micah replied, bowing his head once more. "I understand how your daughter may feel uncomfortable with traveling at my side considering all my other men did not survive. Although, I can assure both you and her I survived because I have skills." Sure Micah's skills weren't that of an ordinary knight, but he could still use his secret skills to help the princess if need be.

Bowing once more to the king, Micah dismissed himself and left with a servant to head to a room. Relieved to have somewhere comfortable to stay once he was in the new room, Micah took off his travel satchel and began to search through it while he heard the servant whisper to him. "I will keep that in mind. Thank you for the warning," he replied. So not only was the princess outspoken, but also troublesome? He really would have to be careful traveling with a person like that. It was a dangerous trip and he didn't want anything to happen to her.

With that thought in mind, Micah turned away from the servant and walked into the other room to take a bath. He climbed into the tub and began to scrub his skin and hair, making sure to clean any bit of mud that may have splashed up on himself during the trip.

(No problem- I'm glad you wrote a lot the first time. It makes for a good intro and lets me know that my partner is capable xD but I can reduce the length some, no problem!)

Violet flopped onto her bed and with a loud huff. She didn't care if she had acted inappropriately- it's not like the knight would have to see her much at all anyways. Violet allowed herself to wallow in self-pity and discontent once again. This was all so stupid; she hated living in the palace but she hated the thought of leaving for another palace even more. Would there ever be anything more for her?

"Um...Miss...your father has requested your presence at dinner..." a small voice called from outside her door. Violet sighed as she heard the maid, strongly considering staying in her room out of protest again. But it would accomplish nothing, as she had already discovered. "Fine, I'm coming." Violet straightened herself in the mirror, smoothing down her dress where she had messed it up. If she looked like a mess at the table, her mother would never let her hear the end of it.

The dining table was very long- it was honestly awkward to sit at since everyone sat at the ends, far away from each other. Violet found it made her feel so distant from her parents, even though they were sitting together for a "family meal". She felt sorry that Micah had to suffer through this. In truth, she felt sorry that he had to come on this trip in the first place. It wasn't his fault he survived and had to look out for her now. Wrong place, wrong time... she felt a little bad that he would probably get severely punished when she ran away, but Violet didn't care enough to change her escape plans.

As she sat at the table, she acted mannerly as she was supposed to, not speaking out of turn or eating an overabundance. She could play princess for now, she decided, just to appease her parents and avoid more lecturing.

(Okay, sounds good. ^_^ )

Once his bath was finished and he was as clean as he could possibly get himself, Micah climbed out of the tub, wrinkling his nose at how the water had turned all brown. He must have been really dirty. He made his way back into the room and took a fresh pair of garments out of his bag to wear, slipping them on. Micah was careful to make sure he his clothes--along with everything else about himself--was neat and tidy before exiting the room. He called for the assistance of the maid to take him to the dining area, since he didn't know the way.

Upon arriving to the dinging room, the first thing he spotted was the long dining table and the decorative chandelier hanging above it. Never had he sat at a royal table before, so the blond felt a bit out of place after having been seated at one. He made sure to stick to everything he had been taught about manners, a bit nervous that he would slip up.

"It's a pleasure to be here for dinner. I thank you for inviting me, your highness," Micah said to break the silence, bowing his head to both the king and queen. "So long as you feel comfortable with me escorting her, I'm curious to know when you would like us to depart for the journey?" he asked, eyeing up the silverware on the table.

Violet ate properly at the table- not putting too much in her mouth or picking aimlessly at the food. She was content not to say a word unless someone spoke to her. She had never liked family dinner very much. Violet heard Micah's inquiry about their departure time and held her breath. Please don't say right now, please don't say right now- it's already getting dark, she pleaded silently, giving her father a hard stare. The king didn't seem to notice her, simply turning to smile at the knight. "You can rest here for the night and leave in the morning," he replied. "You're free to use the room you were in earlier as your temporary chambers."

Violet let out a small sigh of relief. It's not that she was scared of the dark exactly, but she figured if the journey was dangerous like it sounded, they might have better luck traveling during the day. Plus, how would they be able to fight off anything on full stomachs? Violet frowned to herself, not knowing what exactly they would be needing to fight off...she had never actually fought anything before, but she had a good arm and aim for targets.

"Why don't the two of you take a few moments after dinner to go over everything? You know- get to know each other a little and make sure you're prepared for tomorrow?" the king suggested, looking at Micah and Violet.

Similar to Violet, Micah waited in anticipated hope that the king would say that the two of them could depart tomorrow on their journey. He was exhausted and certainly didn't want to head out while he was. He hadn't the slightest clue what the king would say, but was very relieved when he made the wise decision to allow them to depart tomorrow instead of immediately. "I believe that is a wise choice," Micah replied to the king, "Thank you, sire."

Comfortable knowing he was going to leave tomorrow, Micah began to eat and chat leisurely with the king and queen, surprised when his highness wanted himself to speak with Violet after dinner. The princess didn't look very happy, so Micah honestly didn't expect her to say much. "Yes, I think that is a marvelous idea," he replied, glancing to Violet. "If you would be so kind as to grace me with a walk after dinner, I would most appreciate it, Princess Violet."

"But of course," Violet quickly smiled peacefully. "It would be my pleasure," she responded to the knight. A lie, of course- she wasn't actually that interested in getting to know someone she would probably never see again after their hopefully short journey was through. All the same, she could, and would, at least play along. Violet happily finished the selected dessert as it was brought out. She did love sweets, and it was one thing she would miss about living here. The chef's chocolate trifle had to be the best in existence.

After dinner ended, Violet bid both of her parents a good night, as they had other things to attend to for the night that didn't concern herself or the guest knight. She waited for Micah and greeted him with a small smile. "Well, would like me to show you around the palace grounds, or would you prefer to stay inside? If you like, we could always just walk around in here. I've been known to give delightful tours," Violet offered.

Nodding at her words, Micah tensed and looked down at his food. He pushed it around with his fork, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the princess. He could tell she wasn't happy, not one bit. Nevertheless, he tried his best to be friendly with the royal family, eat his dinner, and enjoy his dessert. By the time he had finished with dinner, the young knight felt relaxed once again.

Wiping his mouth clean with a napkin after he finished at the table, Micah left and approached the princess, smiling when she did. "I wouldn't mind walking around inside here. I think it's fairly wet outside from how much it rained earlier, and I'd love to stay dry after having traveled in the rain all day. Would that be all right with you? I wouldn't mind partaking in one of your delightful tours."

"I see," Violet replied to Micah's comment about the rain. "Very well, that sounds quite alright to me. Shall we?" she said, gesturing as she started to walk down a long hall. "This is the central hall of the palace. Almost all other passages branch off from this nave. On the walls, you'll notice portraits of all the past rulers of our kingdom. Many of them look quite serious, but I've been told some of them were quite wonderful people. Not that I would really know, of course."

Violet continued at a relaxed pace- not too fast, but also moving along decently. She talked about some of the other things in the palace as they came upon them. She spoke with energy and a certain respect for where she lived, even if she didn't always like it...it was still her home. "Well, is there anything you need to know about me or would like to ask?" she questioned the knight as they continued the tour. Seeing as that was more of the reason they were having this conversation, she figured she would ask.

When the princess gestured for him to follow her Micah nodded and proceeded to do so. He was slightly interested in the palace, but knew that after tomorrow he wouldn't see it very often or maybe not ever. The blond knight had no intentions to return to the kingdom, especially since these lands were even more strictly against the abilities that he needed to keep secret.

As the two of them walked along, Micah half listened had half drifted off on his thoughts. He wasn't intending to be rude, but was quite tired from the trip. When she asked him if he had any questions, however, he made sure to fix his focus on Violet. "I guess it would be helpful to know if you have any methods of self defense. Do you know how to fight or use a weapon? I'm not saying you'll need to know, but I'm just curious if you do. It would make me feel a little more at ease," he admitted.

Violet frowned and folded her arms. It made her a little curious why Micah asked such a question, and it made her a little nervous too when he mentioned it would make him feel more at ease. Surely, this young man was highly trained and skilled enough to survive the journey here...which meant he should be strong and skilled enough for the both of them...right? "Not to be rude, but aren't you the knight?" she replied. "I should hope you can protect both of us. Surely, you must understand that most girls, especially princesses, are never taught to fight or even hold a weapon properly." She sighed. It was sad, truly. Violet believed that women should be allowed to train with weapons. "If you must know, I do have a bit of archery experience," she added. Violet decided to leave out the part about how she liked throwing silverware...she figured that wouldn't be considered a weaponry skill to a knight.

Glancing away for a moment, Micah allowed a sigh to escape his lips. "Not to worry, I take no offense from your comment. You are right that I am a knight, but there is only one of me now, so I am trying to figure out how to best go about this trip. I promise you I will make it work though. I will get you to your new home safely no matter what it takes," he said, hoping to ease her in case his words had made her uncomfortable. Rubbing the back of his head, he glanced to her again. "This might be a strange thing to offer a woman, but I could possibly help you learn a bit of self defense along the way. In my personal opinion, I find it odd that not more self defense is taught to women. Women are just as likely to be attacked as men, if not more. However, if you would rather I didn't teach you anything, I understand." He hopped that his offer didn't sound too forward. It might have been against her culture for all he knew.

Violet straightened, noticeably perking up at his offer. "Really, you would do that?" she asked, a bit excitedly. She cleared her throat and allowed herself to calm down. "Ah, I mean...I guess we should just see how everything goes. I suppose our trip should be as brief as possible, since I wouldn't want to keep my fiancee waiting," she said, scowling a little at the last part of her statement. Violet sighed. No one understood, at least, that's how she felt. No one understood what it was like to have so many expectations but not wishing for a single one of them. Even one of the most politically powerful girls in the kingdom could not escape her duties. Instead, she was given more responsibility than she ever wanted. "Well, I suppose we had better rest for the night then," Violet said as she stopped in from of the guests' quarters after they had walked the length of the castle. "Sleep well."

Smiling slightly, Micah nodded in agreement to her words. "Very well, we can see how it goes on the trip and if we get a chance to practice self defense, we can. But if things are too hectic or you don't feel up to it, we don't have to. I'll leave it entirely up to you." Although, the blond had a feeling that the former half of her words were more true than the latter, so he had a pretty good feeling they two of them would end up making some time to train. He didn't really mind either. The young knight knew he could use some training himself. "Anyhow, yes, we should be getting some rest for the night. Thank you for the tour, your highness, and have a pleasant rest," he said with a polite bow before turning to head into his guest room.

Violet also bid the man a goodnight before departing for her own room. She closed the door and waited for a good hour or so before slipping on a pair of boots and a long coat. The girl quietly left her room, which wasn't difficult since most of the staff had already gone to their quarters for the evening. Violet crept out the back door, trying her best not to let the old door squeak like it normally did. Once she made it out, she cleared past the guards once they confirmed her identity. Finally, she approached the outdoor armory. She quietly removed the lock and snuck inside. Violet found a light bow and a quiver full of arrows and concealed them beneath her long cloak. She cautiously made her way back to her room, getting storage looks from the guards, though they dared not to question her reason for being outside. Violet stuck her weapons in one of her travel bags before getting ready for bed and falling into the only deep sleep she was bound to get for a long time.

After the two said their goodnight's, Micah walked back to his room and went inside. He was tired, but knew there were a couple things he needed to take care of before he went to bed for the night. He emptied out his travel satchel, cleaned it, and packed it with fresh supplies from the room he was in. Once he had taken care of that, he changed into some more comfortable clothes for the night and headed for bed. When he would start traveling with Violet, he knew that comfortable nights wouldn't be very often, so he really hoped that he would enjoy one good night of sleep. So he crawled into bed, glancing at his door. He heard the footsteps of someone moving around outside, unaware that it was Violet. Brushing off the thought, he closed his eyes and relaxed for a while before drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, Micah awoke to a knock at his door. "Yes, who is it?" he called, nearly falling out of his bed. He scrambled to get dressed while he waited for a reply.

"The king wishes for you to meet him in the dining room after you are ready so that you may eat breakfast with Princess Violet and himself before sending the two of you off on your trip."

"Very well," Micah replied. "Tell him I'll be there shortly." He scrambled to get his clothes on, hurrying his best so that he would not keep the king waiting.

Violet let out a sigh as one of the maids brushed through the Princess's unruly hair. Violet blew a huff of air up at her bangs- perhaps to annoy the maid and perhaps out of sheer boredom. The maid didn't complain- she never did. "There you are, my lady. Now, please make your way to the dining room for breakfast." The maid bowed timidly before exiting the room. Violet got up and looked at her bags once more. She didn't think she forgot anything, but one could never be too sure. The girl then made her way to the dining room where she greeted her father politely before sitting down and preparing to stuff her face...until the king cleared his throat and explained that they were waiting on Micah to dine with them. Violet frowned but didn't argue as she sat there at the table anxiously.

Nervous about meeting with the king, Micah became lost once or twice on his way to the dining room. Hoping they wouldn't be frustrated with him for being late, the blond eventually found his way back to the correct area and bowed to the king in apology before taking a seat. "I'm sorry, your highness, but this castle is large and I'm afraid I lost my way." When the king gave everyone the okay to start eating breakfast, he did so, talking between his eating. "So are we to leave directly after breakfast?" he asked. The young knight knew he would feel much better about leaving today than he would have the previous night.

Violet folded her arms as Micah entered the dining room. First, he made her wait politely to eat delicious food, and his excuse was that he got lost? Her face scrunched up in a sort of pouty or upset manner. "Well I'm glad you paid so much attention to our tour last night," she said a bit rudely. The girl received a look from her father, but he seemed too tired of dealing with her to say anything. It was too early for her antics. The king rubbed his head and briefly apologized, assuring the knight that it was fine. Violet ate her breakfast quietly and a bit grumpily but eventually relaxed enough to enjoy the meal. "Yes, that would be best," the king agreed to Micah's inquiry about leaving. "Assuming both of you are prepared to leave, that is." Violet nodded. "I'm ready," she said.

After having eaten a few bites of his food, Micah frowned at Violet's statement. He tended not to be the type to say rude comments back--especially with royalty around--but he was slightly tempted to after seeing the look she gave him. He quickly swallowed back the temptation, however, and replied to her politely. "I'm sorry, I was just a bit tired this morning. And after having learned so much about this great castle, I'm afraid I didn't remember all of it."

Glancing to the king, Micah nodded. "Very well, we will leave then. I too am ready. Does Princess Violet have a horse she could take?" he asked. "The trip will be a bit faster on horseback."

"We can provide, of course," the king nodded. "Also, if you would prefer another horse, we can allow you one as well."

After they had finished, servants gathered the luggage and readied the horses. Violet said her goodbyes to her parents. Although they weren't that affectionate, she really would miss the security of this place. To be honest, she was a little excited but also scared. She rarely stepped outside of palace grounds and feared that something might go wrong. Violet suppressed the anxiety and put on her best brave face until she had to mount her horse. Ugh, sidesaddle. Violet found it so very impractical, almost to a disgusting degree. Who even thought of such a thing? It made absolutely no sense to ride a naturally dirty horse in a pretty dress in such a manner that allowed very little balance. But Violet's horseback riding skills were rather limited, so she didn't know what else to do besides put up with it. "Well then, I suppose we're off then," she said with a final wave to the castle.

"Thank you, your highness," Micah replied with a polite bow of his head. "Just one more horse for the princess will do. I think I'll stick with the horse I came with myself." His horse was likely a little tired from the trip, but he was still reliable and the young knight wanted to stick with him.

After breakfast was over, Micah gathered the rest of his things together while Violet said her goodbyes to her family. Once all of his traveling gear was loaded back atop his horse, he mounted him and glanced back to Violet with a slight frown. It would be a hard journey it she had to ride sidesaddle the entire time. He was sorely tempted to let her ride without it at times if she was okay with the idea.

"Yes, off we go," Micah replied to the princess before gently cracking the reins on his horse. The horse started off with a slow trot, and Micah lead the way for Violet to follow. "So have you ever set foot outside your home lands before?" he asked.
