first and foremost, calynna is a warrior, so she's naturally capable of wielding most weapons. she's best with a sword or a dagger, fighting at close range and weaving in and out to dodge attacks (her small size helps with this). calynna is also good when it comes to battle strategy. she didn't get to become the only female knight in alyria's imperial guard without playing dirty and proving her worth.

while she has used a bow and arrow before, long range weapons seem to be a weakness of hers. she isn't nearly as accurate as she might be with a sword or a dagger, when up against a foe. aside from this, calynna has only recently learned how to read. she still struggles, since her upbringing wasn't the best and learning how to read was a luxury. calynna also has a tendency to act impulsively โ not the best trait for someone leading the imperial guard, but for the most part, she tries to keep it under control.

โ calynna was born in north alyria to a family of four: her father, her mother, and her older brother. those in alyria were not very well off, but it wasn't something that bothered calynna for most of her childhood. her father was formerly in the imperial guard, and he retired after a war injury, but considering he was one fo the best warriors the imperial guard has had, he was called back to help with strategies.
โ the entire family moved to the heart of alyria, where they lived in a small chamber within the castle walls. calynna's mother was given duties as a handmaiden and calynna and her brother were allowed to live there till they came of age.
โ calynna's brother, isaac, was expected to follow in his father's footsteps and learn how to fight, but he was more interested in the making of weapons than using them. he had no desire to fight, whereas calynna was a born fighter.
โ calynna eventually was trained by her father from a young age and when she was old enough, she was drafted as the first female knight, since the queen took a shining to her.
โ during her first battle, a simple siege against a nearby rebelling town, calynna thrived, and proved her worth out on the field. unfortunately, during that same battle, her father was killed. he wasn't supposed to be out there, with his old injury, but he hadn't wanted calynna to go without him.
โ with his post lost, someone else rose to be in charge if strategies, and calynna was promoted as well.
โ along the way, calynna's mother passed away as well, due to a sickness she contracted that didn't receive enough attention. calynna's brother continued to forge weapons for the royal army, and he married a royal handmaiden.
โ at present, with all of the work calynna has done, she rose through the ranks to now be in the position of leading the imperial army. her brother isaac and his wife rosalin have a two year old son named arthur, after their father, and all seems well. but it's about to get much more complicated. as the leader of a notorious group of thieves, killian is agile and quick. he's much more talented with smaller weapons like daggers than swords, but his archery is top-notch as well. quick-witted and intelligent, he is often the one who comes up with the plans for the rugged thieves and ensures that it is carried out smoothly.

โ killian doesn't remember when or to whom he was born to. according to conrad, the man who raised, he was abandoned near the outskirts of alyria when he was but a baby. they lived in east alyria, and conrad taught him the art of thievery when he was but a young boy. they were relatively poor, but they managed to scrape by with the goods they stole.
โ it was obvious that he had a natural talent for stealing, but as he grew older, conrad and his small group of ruffians began to move on to larger crimes. first it was kidnapping citizens who were stupid enough to wander into the woods and demanding for ransom from their grief-stricken parents. as they got away with all their crimes, they began to develop a thirst for it. it was one of the best times of his life.
โ though, disaster strikes when killian was eighteen. it was one of their more riskier missions - kidnapping a rich snob in north alyria, but something went wrong. they were betrayed by one of their own greedy for money. conrad was murdered while trying to save killian's life, and despite his horror and muted shock, he made it out alive.
โ following conrad's footsteps, he took on leadership, and searched every member of the rugged thieves thoroughly. though it took him a year or two to learn to trust them again, he continued carrying out missions, especially targeting the rich snobs hidden away in their snug homes.
โ at present, his cold and unforgiving leadership of the thieves ensured a hundred percent success rate, and they are moving on to their greatest mission yet - kidnapping the crown prince. [/div] [div class="tabContents tabContents05 show"]
