the story
an irritable female knight (muse a) is charged with the burden of rescuing the kingโ€™s son after heโ€™s been taken prisoner and held for ransom; the royal caravan was waylaid by a band of hooded assailants led by muse b, a dastardly unknown marksman.

muse a realises that her best chance of finding the kingโ€™s son is to be โ€˜caughtโ€™ by muse b too, so she orchestrates a clever plan to appear like a helpless damsel and soon enough she is successfully abducted by muse b.

when the knight is left alone in a dank dungeon, she is able to go in search of the kingโ€™s son. suspicious of his latest capture, muse b stops muse a in her tracks and they engage in hand-to-hand combat.

it isnโ€™t until muse b is momentarily overtaken by muse a that muse a notices the birthmark on muse bโ€™s neck, the very same mark that all of the males of the royal family possess.

muse b is of royal blood and seems to have no idea.

the kingdom of alyria
the kingdom of alyria is a large one. in the heart of the country is where the castle stands, taller than any other structure in all of alyria. it is home to the whitehalls, the royal family that oversees all of alyria.

the castle has gothic architecture and an almost sinister vibe, given that it's almost completely black. the interiors are similar, though at the same time quite grand, similar to the interiors of any royal home.

the castle's dark aura mimics the aura of all of alyria, primarily due to the cruel king currently in charge.

west alyria is almost a wasteland. not many people reside there, and there is very minimal greenery. the area is usually reserved for people banished by the king since people don't last more than two days out there, and nobody knows why. whoever goes, never returns.

north of alyria is comparatively colder than the rest of the country. the further north you go, the harsher the conditions. most of the weapons in alyria are manufactured here, and many of alyria's warriors are bred here.

the south of alyria is slightly more pleasant than the rest of the country, the castle included. it's sunny, full of lush greenery, and well decorated. most noble families reside here, closer to the castle, and further south is where the homes of the lower classes can be found, those that serve the castle in one way or another.

finally, east alyria is perhaps the most dangerous part of alyria. most of it is a thick forest, and people don't usually venture into it unless they are prepared to fight off bandits and other criminals. people reside in east alyria, in small towns amid the forest that can't be seen from the outside looking in. while this area is also under the rule of the kingdom, they are more or less left to their own devices, given how dangerous they can be if provoked.

king rupert of alyria
king rupert whitehall rules over all of alyria. he was the only son to his father, his predecessor, and quickly rose to being the next leader when his father was killed in battle several years ago.

before he became king, he was married off to adelaide davenport, a woman of royalty from a land much further away from alyria.

king rupert has never been a very good leader, despite how long he's retained his post. he's fickle minded, disobedient, and impulsive. it's probably the reason he has a bastard son out there in the world that nobody else knows about (as far as he knows).

most of his well executed battle strategies were all planned by his conniving wife, who has proven on more than one occasion that she's more fit to leadership than him, and it doesn't help that she's more power hungry than he is.

queen adelaide of alyria
for most of her life, adelaide davenport played the part she was supposed to. she was an obedient princess, doing whatever her parents told her to do, and when the time came, she married a man much older than her and settled down in a kingdom far from the one she grew up in.

none of this bothered her though. from her new seat, with a new title and surname, queen adelaide thrived. she more or less rules over alyria indirectly, considering the influence she has over the king and her manipulative ways.

unbeknownst to the king, she is very aware of the presence of an illegitimate child who could certainly have a claim to the throne, given that he's older than the son the king and queen currently have. till now, she chose to do nothing about it, but with the safety of her son in question, she's needed to take extreme measures to get rid of any threat.

after all, another contender would mean that she would lose whatever grasp she has over her husband and son, and she'd go back to being an obedient woman with no will.

the crown prince of alyria
despite having two parents who are cruel in their own ways, richard whitehall is not the same. he has the playfulness his father once had at his age, but he's less of a leader than his father is, and that's saying something.

richard is often found fooling around and disregarding his royal duties. he knows he would eventually lay claim to the throne one day, but he couldn't be any less interested in that prospect.

richard, despite not wanting any kind of leadership role, is a spoiled brat. being raised by a protective mother can have that effect on a person, especially if one grew up in a castle. he's full of empty threats, but he can't wield a sword to save his life, nor could he negotiate with anyone over anything.

his capture has definitely put the country on high alert, because even if he's useless, he's still royalty, and the only thing that keeps queen adelaide in charge over all of alyria.

the best knight in alyria
muse a โ€” the irritable knight sent off by the king and queen to track down their captured son. thought the king and queen have agreed to negotiate to pay the ransom as far as the public goes, they don't intend to.

muse a is sent to find their son, and get rid of the man that took him,. that's her mission, and that's what she's set off to do.

of course, what she doesn't know is that the queen pretty much knows who took her son. this is solely an attempt for her to get rid of anyone else that could potentially lay claim to the throne.

muse a obviously doesn't know this, or she might not have been so quick to accept the task given to her.

the secret royalty
muse b โ€” the leader of the hooded assailants that capture the crown prince of alyria.

the group of criminals is well known among all of alyria, for all sorts of crimes. they've never been caught, and they don't intend to go that way any time soon.

this is likely their biggest heist yet, considering that royalty is involved, and the kingdom's only son, but if all works well, it could mean some huge loot.

but, things aren't exactly going to go as they planned, since clearly, there are a few secrets about their leader, muse b, that have yet to come to light.
