olive toned and appears constantly flushed. his skin is uncomfortably warm to the touch as if he’s feverish, as well as feeling oddly prickly. he has more than his fair share of scars scattered all over his body.

benecio’s a handsome guy—however, that doesn’t stop his face from looking slightly off. the way his jaw juts forward combined with the slope of his nose gives his face the appearance of forming a snout. his mouth is a little too wide, his lips are a little too red. a feature that never fails to garner attention are his teeth, concerningly sharp and jumbled in his mouth. more than a few of his fangs are chipped, indicating the hard life he has lived. if there was one feature that he truly hated, benny would have to say that it’s his eyes. no matter how hard he showers, he carries the scent of smoke on his skin, a lovely result of his demonic heritage.

benny wears whatever fits. he was never afforded the luxury of being able to choose clothing. he’s always gravities towards black, white and grey clothing, flannels, sweatshirts, and anything that could keep him warm. benecio is always seen in layers as he’s used keeping everything he could carry on him. as far as shoes go, he alternated between distressed work boots and beaten black chucks. benecio has always liked the appeal of jewelry but he knew, living on the street, anything of value made him a target. as an ironic substitute, he wears dog chains instead.

benecio is a dick. he’s not some urbane, teasing bad boy, he’s just cruel. life has taught him to be on the offense constantly, attacking other people before they have the chance to attack him. all his jokes are taken too far too fast and really everyone he meets is driven off by his derogatory words. that’s the goal. anything more than an acquaintance is a step closer to weakness and the boy is weak enough as it is.
don’t get him wrong, sometimes he enjoys being the antagonist and seeing others upset. there’s no human in his dna to water down the strength of his emotions, to automatically give him empathy. if taught, benecio could learn a lot, maybe even have something more to offer than just sharp teeth and sharper comments. however, he’s had no one to show him.
ever so often, he slips up and says something that could be considered nice. the type of person he is, he’ll always mean the compliment. despite benny’s complete lack of other morals, he has always vowed to be as honest as he could, damn the consequences. it’s something he wished his mother did with him and in some stupid interpretation of the golden rule, he aims to be genuine with others.

hellhounds could be considered god’s mistakes—except he wasn’t the one who created them. ever so often, a demon or a malignant spirit will manage to copulate with a lycanthrope. the result is a bastardization of both species, an enormous black hound able to exist in a corporeal state as well as spectrally. they’re eerie beasts who can bring down elk and other large prey with ease, either with their serrated fangs or acidic saliva. hellhounds are essentially made to kill. this is their main urge, above all other feelings, and it results in them being easy to set in someone’s path. it’s rumored that after catching the scent of something or someone trying to escape it, a hellhound will not rest until they’ve killed the victim. this results in their portrayal as omens or harbingers of death. whenever a hellhound is seen, a slaughter is soon to follow. due to their demonic heritage, hellhounds often appear mangled and bloody, with scars and matted fur. despite this, they are extremely durable and grow stronger with age.

due to the complex chemistry of their bodies, hellhounds have voracious appetites. they often crave carrion, rotten meat, or extremely charred food. feeding upon humans is not taboo and human hearts are seen as delicacies amongst hellhounds. they’re durable creatures but starving one is certainly a way to weaken it. hellhounds grow more violent with age, most going rabid and ending up killing themselves. however, this morbid process takes hundreds of years. crosses, churches, and holy water set hellhounds into a frightened panic, which usually presents itself as confused aggression.

benecio’s father was an incubi, a sex demon. this results in his ability to dream walk and make himself present in the subconscious of others. what he does in those dreams would make a nun cry.

background
benecio is why some people shouldn’t be allowed to have sex. he was an immaculate conception, after six days of vivid sex dreams, his mother woke up six months pregnant. her name was inez and she lived as a lone wolf, sequestered off in an area of the sequoia woods known to be teeming with wildlife. she described the pregnancy as difficult. throughout the three months she was pregnant with benecio, she craved rotten meat, often bleed out her nose and ears, and found herself killing the surrounding fauna just because she could.
and then he was born, wearing the umbilical cord like a chain. inez had a brief moment of hesitation as she looked down at her son, his eyes open and mouth full of serrated teeth. she shocked herself out of it. that was her son no matter what he looked like and she wouldn’t just let him die. that was her mistake because raising benny was even harder than giving birth to him. the boy was a brute, slaughtering anything that came near the home and flying into rages where he’d often injure himself or his mother. as soon as he could run, he would disappear for hours and come back covered in blood. he was a hellion and his mother couldn’t take it. at age ten, benecio was abandoned by his mother, hansel and gretel style. inez lead him to the end of the forest, where hikers and guides were found. benny has blanked this part out but he ended up being found and quickly shuffled into foster care.
the boy couldn’t be housed with other werewolves and damn sure not with human children. that, combined with the abuse he endured, and the realization of his true heritage caused him to begin running away from homes. demonic blood in his veins horrified him but it also explained why he was the way he was, why inez discarded him. with this new found knowledge, benecio began his life on the streets, not bothering anyone and not letting himself be bothered. he’s been at it for six years and despite knowing it’s no way to live, its the only way he knows how.
when did they receive the brochure ?
benecio had just got hit by a car. a rolls royce, to be specific. it was the night chastity’s father walked right into their little dalliance and chased benny out with a pistol in hand. the boy leapt right off the balcony and across the highway, shifted into hound form and vowing to come back and tear her father’s throat out. he could with ease. really, the only thing that stopped him from doing it was the luxury car knocking him back a few feet. the driver assumed they had hit a street dog, albeit a disturbingly large one, and kept driving. as benny laid there, slowly healing and homeless once again, he wondered if life could get any worse—and then there the brochure was.

xx → mother = inez de guerra | inez gave him up when he was young and they haven’t had any contact since then. knowing what he does now, he can’t blame her for her choice. still, if they ever met again, he couldn’t guarantee her safety. benecio’s memories of his mother are fuzzy but he could recall her always being afraid of him or irritated. all her affection seemed shaky, as if she was scared of how he’d react if she didn’t hold him, call him her son.

Arachne enjoys the simpler things in life, sipping tea and reading a book near a moonlit window. In her free time, she attends to her little spider friends, knit intricate designs on the silk provided by said friends, and baking delectable desserts. Arachne takes pride in the crafts she creates, often times hanging them up in her dorm room to revel in their magnificence (unless someone criticizes them, of course). Sometimes she knits with actual yarn in order to make miniature sweaters for her tarantula buddies. Expect her squealing about how cute they are from down the hall. To emphasize her how creative this girl is, she even sews her own clothes. The aforementioned being of the lolita kind due to her love for lacey, French/English-inspired outfits. Then again, she does have no choice since not a lot of clothes are made with three sets of holes for her arms.

When it comes to schoolwork, Arachne works diligently to complete the assignment in due time. She especially enjoys work that revolves around realms beyond her imagination, as she has a particular interest in magic. Though she can not cast spells herself, she finds it to be her aesthetic. Any book reading she has to do, she is absolutely ecstatic for and could be considered a hardcore bookwork as well. In general, Arachne tries her hardest to be a good student whether that be academic-wise or behavior-wise.

Being that she is an extreme introvert, however, she may come off as the withdrawn type to her fellow peers, rarely engaging in conversation—or rather, avoiding it at all costs. If she were to be cornered, she’d be extremely sweet, finding ways to politely decline any offers or questions in fear of ‘messing up.’ Her tendency to cry at the slightest things (she is the type of person to constantly mutter “I’m sorry” if she believes, or is made to believe, she has done something wrong), gloomy episodes of wallowing in her own self-regret, and cowardice can run off potential friends (if she hadn’t down that already). Naivety has made the spider girl susceptible to exploitation and toxic relationships she was trapped in. In an effort to prevent time from repeating itself, her shy and reclusive behaviors have been a barrier—a wall she had built between her and anyone else. Nonetheless, a few have still managed to earn her trust, and Arachne has become very thankful for them and their ability to see past her faults.

[Main Like] Sewing/Crafting: Arachne takes pride in her creations, putting her heart and soul into the unique, complex patterns she may weave onto a web. The same applies to sewing, as she also enjoys sitting down and sketching a concept of her next lolita dress. Background
The story of how Arachne’s parents met is a curious story in itself. When she was teenager, Eloise was living with her grandmother since her own parents had died. With how her grandmother was frail and weak, she was unable to find some herself. And so Eloise, every night, would go into the city under the cover of night to find food for her elderly grandmother. Gregory’s house was among the ones she stole from. It did not take long until Gregory entered his room and saw a spider woman stealing paper and materials from his desk. Eloise panicked but Gregory was more fascinated than terrified. Having been interested in the supernatural for a very long time, Gregory made a deal that he would help Eloise with anything she and her grandmother may need as long as he can study her. After all, he was documenting all of his experiences with the supernatural and compacting them into a small journal of his. Eloise agreed (since she had no other choice, it seemed) and, through many meetings and meaningful conversations, they fell in love. Eloise’s grandmother disagreed with the marriage immediately, even though Eloise had promised to still take care of her. Perhaps it was discrimination towards the humans race? Upon seeing that her grandmother was going to be too stubborn to accept her decisions, she and Gregory (being 18 at the time) moved away from the bustling city of Paris into the rural French pastures to live together. With the trust already forged between the couple, Eloise revealed that the reason she was stealing paper from him was due to her love for composing music. She had no paper to jot down musical notes or any ideas that may come to mind, and so took to stealing that ‘valuable paper’ instead. Gregory, after reading Eloise’s composed pieces, suggested the idea of publishing under another name.

“Wouldn’t it be easier for me to publish under your name.” Eloise said, confused as to why her husband would suggest such an absurd idea. Gregory responded that he would not want to take credit for a beautiful piece that was not his to begin with. Eloise herself was a composer, but due to gender inequalities in the 1800s (and the fact that a “monster” was composing masterpieces), it would make sense for her to publish her work under a more masculine name instead. Gregory absolutely hated that, but it was the only way for his wife to somehow get the credit she deserved.

On September 17, 1877, Arachne was born in the dead of winter, next to the warmth of a fireplace. Since they couldn’t go to any doctors (in fear of Eloise being seen as a monster), Gregory (20) decided to recall the moment his sister was born (considering his mother had to have her in the house) and helped his wife through labor instead. Arachne was a very calm baby, not having trouble with transitioning through the stages of infancy. She was a blessing to her parents and the source of their happiness.

As Arachne grew to be a very... very curious child. She was hard to control since she would just climb the walls to get away from any punishments or having to sleep.

“Oh come on. That’s just unfair.” Her father groaned once he saw his daughter scale the walls easily to avoid him

Anything shiny or of interest to her would instantly be hunted down; no possessions of her parents could remain safe in the presence of their daughter.
A strange fact was that Arachne would seldom talk. Her parents were worried that she may have been underdeveloped and never know how to talk. Until she’d be ready to say an entire sentence only to stay silent for another week or so. Overall Arachne was a very strange kid and full of surprises for her parents to both find interesting and panic over together.

Arachne, at the age of 32 (age 8), would sneak out at times. She was careful not to be seen by any passersby, but would be very interested in the lives of the humans in the village. Arachne and her parents lived in a more gothic, dark home within the woods in order to hide from prying eyes. When Arachne snuck out one day, she saw the village’s children playing outside. Their laughter was enough for Arachne to feel envious of their fun. Before making the decision of stepping out to greet them, she was snatched up in an instant. Only a small gasp escaped her mouth as she was pulled close to her mother’s bosom. Eloise then began to interrogate her daughter for any plausible reason as to why she snuck out of the house.

Arachne, after being tired of the constant nagging, questions her mother for why she can’t play with the human kids. Being an only child was lonely for Arachne, and she had never experienced playing with another young child.
“Not everyone is like your father, Arachne.” Eloise answered with a saddened smile.
“We are different, and humans… do not like what is different from them, unfortunately.”


Arachne realized that her father was aging at a faster speed than her and her mother. It was no doubt that Eloise and Arachne would still be alive once Gregory had passed away from natural causes.
Eloise, though, was aware of this fate that would befall the couple when they had decided to run away together. In fact, during the last few decades, Eloise was readying herself emotionally for the imminent death of her beloved husband.
On December 5th, Gregory passed away from Pneumonia. Unable to help him medically, Eloise was devastated, and Arachne was still lost at the fact that her father won’t be bringing back any more presents for her, playing with her, or telling her jokes.
After her father died, Arachne’s bubbly personality soon changed into the solemn, gloomy one she has now.


A few months following Gregory’s death, Eloise was back to stealing food and other resources. from the village. She also replaced Arachne’s father in teaching her the basic subjects of education in an attempt to recover what time they had lost mourning. By now, Arachne was a very reserved girl, rarely coming out of her room and speaking outside of her turn. Eloise was worried for her daughter, but could see the reason as to why Arachne changed.

The more Eloise stole, the more the villagers were beginning to notice something. At first they thought it was an animal stealing their food and materials, until someone had spotted Eloise due to a clumsy escape on her part. They then saw her go into the woods, and called the rest of the villagers together saying there was a monster living in those woods.
One particular night, Eloise and 64-year-old (16) Arachne was in the house, enjoying a cup of tea until they heard chanting outside. The villagers were coming with pitchforks and any other makeshift weapon they could find. Within a few seconds, the house was set on fire, the villagers throwing blazing torches through the windows and trying to break down the door. Arachne and her mother came down the stairs to blinding and suffocating smoke and a giant, insatiable fire. It was burning all of their belongings, and all of the work Arachne had made. The fire was taken everything they had away; the sight was horrifying. Arachne was screaming her lungs out.

Eloise was quick to rush Arachne to the other side of the house so that they may escape. Halfway through running into the deeper parts of the forest, Eloise forgot that her husbands beloved work was left behind. Those loving sketches he drew of her, caring words they wrote to each other, and her hard-working study was going to burn if she didn’t go back for it. The thought was impractical and very selfish at the time but Eloise just couldn’t let the last thing she has of her late husband to burn in a fire.
She told Arachne to stay where she was up in a tree and wait for her mother to return. Arachne was very doubtful of this but agreed anyways. Eloise kissed her daughter’s forehead and went back into the danger.

Arachne had waited there for an hour, unable to move because of the promise she made to her mother. But she should have come back by now. She jumped down and cautiously walked back to her house. She couldn’t hear anything but could smell the rank scent of burnt wood. Upon arriving to her house, Arachne saw that nothing was left. The humans had left and her house was burned down into mere ashes. She couldn’t find her mother anywhere. Arachne searched and searched but still could not find even a hint of where her mother could have gone. She called for her mother, but there was no answer. Arachne was already sobbing heavily as she dug through the piles of ashes and saw a burnt journal holding all of her father’s studies. But didn’t her mother come to get this?

Arachne had waited there for hours, clutching the journal close to her chest and rocking back and forth on the cold hard ground. Her tears had dried up and the glint in her eyes was replaced with an emotionless stare. She wanted to sleep, but she just couldn’t. What if her mother came back? She had to make sure she was awake. Such delusional thoughts were filling her head as she waited and waited to no avail. She couldn’t stay awake forever though, and soon she succumbed to the comforting embrace of sleep. When she woke up again, she could see the slightest ray of light coming through the thick canopies of the trees. She looked to her side to find a strange piece of paper lying next to her. Curious, she rubbed away the sleep form her eyes and opened the brochure.

Even now, Arachne still remains as reserved and shy as she was after her father had died. Though, the academy did help her further her education into something both of her parents would have wanted. During the next few years, Arachne was working to touch up her father’s journal, trying her hardest to recreate the brown cover and tea-stained pages. She was not able to fix everything, but still managed to retain the more important sections of her father’s work and her parent’s little notes of love to each other. Arachne personally had never read hr father’s journal but saw that he had already done so much research on the supernatural. While studying at Wollstonecraft, Arachne’s mission is now to continue her father’s work and also research the many supernatural occurrences unknown to her.

Afterall, Wollstonecraft academy is home to the unknown.

Explanation | Arachnid hybrids (also known as Jorogumo in Japanese culture) are a very aloof, secretive species, therefore scarcely any information of value is available for the inquiring. Despite what little information is accessible, people have been able to gather a decent amount of info to put together a brief explanation of the species:

Arachnid humanoids are creatures of the dark, often sticking to the shadows rather than the brightness of daylight. Additionally, these beasts are known to be manipulators or deceivers, and overall an evil species. The most common body type of these arachnid hybrids usually consist of a spider body (legs and abdomen included) while a human body (chest and up) is attached to the upper area of the spider body. In rare cases, and situations where finding a mate amidst humans are difficult for arachnids, females will consider human males as potential partners. Their offspring then do not carry that familiar spider body their mother does, but instead have multiple sets of arms. Their many eyes are not absent and neither are their abilities, but due to such differences, they are looked down upon by the arachnid society. These exceptions occurring are few and far between, leading to a relative lack of information regarding these special cases.

A genus of the spider species encompasses one of the most venomous spiders of all: the black widow. Their bite can cause severe reactions that can vary depending on their victim. However, fatal incidents have been known to occur because of their sickness-inducing bite. Due to the danger of such, Black Widows have gained a bad image in the Arachnid community.

Known abilities of these nocturnal creatures include being capable of scaling walls with ease. Their many eyes and heightened senses allow for proficiency in locating potential prey and seeing in pitch black areas. The silk they produce has tremendous strength, unable to be broken or snapped in half without immense pressure being applied to do so.

A common myth for Black Widow Arachnids is that they eat their mate after having their offspring. Only few black widows eat their husbands, and only in pure desperation. Others have been known to mate for life with their partner.

Rule of Species | Arachnid humanoids can not stay in sunlight for durations of time, leading to acute blindness and confusion. Often known to be carnivores, Arachnids eat small animals including birds, squirrels, rats, etc. In other cases, they are also known to feast upon human babies and children, seeing that they only see humans as more insects to devour. Supposed to contrary belief, human children are a delicacy to Arachnids and rarely do they consider them a part of their diet (neither are they an easy meal to get). These creatures can live up to 400 years old.

Arachne’s mother has said Arachne resembles her father’s nature and looks a multitude of times. In fact, Gregory himself had said the exact same thing once Arachne was born. Relationship-wise, however, Arachne could not grow closed to her father. He was always absent from the scene, either busy gathering more information on Arachnid humanoids for his study or out running errands. Since Arachne and her mother were not to go outside until the shroud of darkness the night provides can protect them, her father instead retrieves the necessities they may need for the day. This is not to say Arachne did not love her father, he ensured to bring back little trinkets and gifts he may find for her, all the while being her teacher when it came to basic subjects such as writing, mathematics, and history.

Eloise treated Arachne like any mother should, with love and care. Something very abnormal compared to the strict, rough teachings other arachnids subjected their offspring to. Eloise was responsible for taking care of Arachne while her father had left and took to teaching her the arts of music through instruments. Arachne’s mother would tend to her daughter’s every need, and though she did retain some of the strict teachings of her own mother, Arachne’s childhood was enriching both musically and culturally (since her mother also taught Arachne about her species, the problems that arise with Eloise being with Gregory, and why Arachne must never venture outside without permissions). Arachne gained her love for creative art, knitting, and sewing from her mother. Though Arachne loved her mother dearly, she knew deep within her heart that Eloise had valued her father more.

lola is a haunted doll. a haunted darlin’ dolore to be exact. cursed dolls are made a variety of ways but the basis is always the same; a malignant spirit takes residence in a doll, allowing themselves to be contained within the vessel in exchange for having a corporeal presence. there are voodoo dolls, cursed dolls, all sorts of dolls with various sizes and abilities. haunted dolls are nearly always malicious. the toy they chose to possess determines their physical capabilities but all of them are able to move themselves around and project their voices throughout a building. haunted dolls have a strong spiritual presence and often attract other monsters and supernatural phenomena to themselves.

as haunted dolls are made through possession, they can technically be exorcised. the whole process is grueling, nasty, and often vanquishes the spirit totally. as lola’s heart is inside the doll, removing it would be a sure way to “kill” her. aside from that, haunted dolls are incredibly durable. they are immune to other forms of magic as well as becoming ill. lola does not need to eat or sleep but typically does anyway, out of routine. dolores does not need to blink or breath either. on particularly rough days, her “joints” will stiffen and result in the rotation of her limbs being limited, making her movements oddly choppy.

there is a lot that’s happened in “lola’s life”. its best to take it in scenes. the whole thing is practically one long winded horror story.
phase one started june 1st, 1997, in a small town called riverside . it was hours outside of houston and home to nothing but a grassy field and two churches. on that day, lissa popovich was born. her mother, christiana, was a teenage russian immigrant hired under lissa’s father, john, as a maid. john was the pastor of one of the churches. he was a vicious man who often flew into drunken rages and beat his mistress and daughter. lissa grew used to these beatings as well as the judgment she faced from her peers and other members of her community. john was happily married to another woman and proclaimed lissa as the result of christiana seducing him. the whole thing was a crock of shit but people believed it with ease. after all, john was a jesus fearing man and he’d never willing commit adultery. john’s reign of terror ended when he dropped dead of a heart attack. from then on, lissa saw death in a new way, as a savior instead.
when lissa was seventeen, she got hitched. she moved in with her husband, a middle aged man, in a ramshackle house right next to the church. just like john, her husband had a temper that was urged in by alcoholic. he beat lissa, beat their dog, and beat the walls an awful lot too. after a particularly terse argument, lissa stabbed him in the heart with a grilling fork. phase two started immediately after. she packed up what little she had and moved to houston, squatting in an abandoned house with multiple other misfits. among the group was a so called witch who went by the name marie. marie was an odd duck, often sequestering herself off. however, she took an interest in lissa and the depressing depravity of her life story. lissa thought she was out of her mind. weeks later, she ended up with a new husband, this one a cop closer to her age. just like her father and her late lover, he had the same violent tendencies. just like her father and her late lover, he ended up dead, stabbed through the heart with a steak knife. lissa couldn't say she felt bad. all she knew was that this was the one that was going to get her put away. she came to marie in a panic, asking if there was some way, some witch-woman way to prevent her from being caught. marie agreed and in a cosmic show of justice, cut lissa’s heart out of her chest.
marie kept the heart safe while lissa’s body was found in the back of the house, her face published in the news as the riverside ripper, a woman who had killed both husband and her father only at the tender age of twenty three. a week went by and mattel, a popular toy company released a new doll by the name darlin dolores. they were in every toy store across america, all major stores owning one life sized, talking doll to entrance passerby. in a feat more impressive than murder, marie stole a doll and placed lissa heart inside of it. rituals were done, animals were sacrificed and a haunted doll was born.

Comparative to Homo sapiens, they are a tall species with light greyish-blue skin. They have large, almond shaped eyes which are black of color, no ears, and four fingers. They're in contact with most Earthy governments and organize visits from time to time, both diplomatically and recreationally. Barbie herself was on a school field trip when she became stranded.

They mature quickly and, in adulthood, lose a lot of their free-thinking tendencies which cause so much disorder in the Earthly world. Barbie is desperate to cling to childhood as she feels it will be the only time in her life where she's expected to act out, to be creative and outrageous.

Barbie is trying to make contact with her kind. She frequently sits outside with a pair of binoculars, searching the sky for alien visitors. She's a bit of a klepto and her light fingers have caused an assortment of electronics to go missing. But it's never in vain! All electronics are stripped for parts and put to good use. There's an ungodly contraption in her room she is building in an attempt to place an interstellar call to the starship which left her here. She doesn't appear entirely urgent in her task to do so, but she'd like to have the opportunity to call someone if the need should arise.

Barbie is one of a hundred just like her. She was born away from her homeworld on a child-rearing mothership. She was raised by many and daughter only to the one all-knowing power which governs her species, an entity which is currently in negotiations which many of Earth's own political powers. She grew up very detached from her school work and, like many her age, had an innate childhood desire to express herself creatively. She acted out in school, refused to do work or learn things which restricted her. She was downright difficult for anyone who tried to exert any kind of control over her. She was a delinquent to her kind, abnormally so, and it worried them. They were scared she'd never grow out of it.

Suspended on more than one occasion, she still yearned for a visit to the planet everyone deemed "hot stuff" and "really fucking freaky" in Earth slang. She'd a fascination with it for as long as she could remember and attempted, for a short time, to stay good and aim for better grades. Though she was still behind many of her classmates, she scored high enough to qualify for a field trip to Earth. She went, she got lost, and they left her behind. That's the only rational way to explain the chaos which ensued. Put E.T. (1982) on, watch the little guy in the beginning, and you'll pretty much know the gist of what happened.

Stranded on a planet she was simultaneously fascinated by and terrified of, Barbie had no idea what to do with herself. Alone in the woods, she happened by a stone structure which seemingly appeared out of thin air. Seconds later, a brochure appeared in her hands.

Appearance

Overall, he looks chiseled because he literally is. His general physique is one that clearly states he spends to much at the gym and constantly stands up straight. His face is as the picture depicts in regular life, Gargoyles that live among humans are given enchantments at birth to hide the wings and bottom jaw fangs. Gaston's wings are on the smaller end with a length similar to his back but his bottom jaw protrudes noticeably when the enchantments aren't in affect.

Clothing: Tends to wear t-shirts, jeans and more along that style. He doesn't accessorize much at all and is all thumbs when it comes to fashion so he keeps it basic.
Personality

Gaston loves sport, he in fact lives for any type of competition involving physical ability. However, Gaston does not love studying, he simply is not very intelligent and needs to spend more time than his peers to understand something. Still he shows determination in his studies. Gaston also likes partying and is the type to drink a lot while remarkably staying on his feet, with this he is very welcoming and lets anyone join along if they want.

Gargoyles have a natural resistance to magic and strength along with the ability to turn to stone and fly. While Gargoyles are typically liked in the magic world due to their connotations of loyalty and ability to defend, they also are thought of as unintelligent and dependent on orders.

Gargoyles are not born like humans, they are carved with stone then given life through the magic of a wizard or caster who knows the spell. Only in more recent years have Gargoyles learnt the ability to give life in this way themselves. This has lead to families of Gargoyles popping up and trying to live with in everyday society, one such family Gaston comes from. Gargoyles also do not die like humans instead as they come to the end of their lives they permanently turn to stone. Their minds often stay alive years longer after this transition, so they keep watch over where ever they choose to die. Eventually, they just stop thinking. Lifespan often varies based on the amount of magic infused, most from wizards can go up to 1000 years. However Gargoyle families rarely go over 200 years for a member.
Backstory

Gaston was made 19 years ago, by a Gargoyle couple wanting a son. He grew up in the countryside near Paris and from the get go hes known what he is good at and known what he wants to do. 'Gaston is strong, Gaston is fast'. Sometimes the thought would cross his mind if he was created to be an athlete before a son. Gaston tries to remove these thoughts because he doesn't like to dwell in negativity. In his school he was a star player in the rugby team as a hooker, became regional champion in boxing and some more minor achievements in wrestling.

Gaston had never been one to be able to fight against the concept of Gargoyles being unintelligent. In fact, he embodied that stereotype more than anyone he knew. His younger sister, Marie, is often annoyed by this, being exceptionally intelligent she faces the main consequences of said stereotype. Naturally when Gaston got the invite to Wollstonecraft Academy he knew he had to take it. Of course, it was on a sports scholarship but it is a big deal for a Gargoyle to be accepted into things like this. So to show his sister that their kind could make it in academia, he is commited to getting good grades on top of it. All he has to do now is find the capability to do so.

Darcy is a changeling, a type of fae. Although he grew up believing he was human, he was actually a fae swapped out with his 'twin brother' at birth. Tailored to look exactly like him with old magic, Darcy was meant to grow up in his place while his parents got the human child they desired. Although he possess some natural fae magic, Darcy has no idea how to manipulate it. In fact, he's mostly terrified of it.

backstory
On the night Darcy was swapped with his human counterpart, Finn, something rather odd happened. Although most of the fae who leave a changeling are pleased with the exchange, Darcy's mother instantly regretted the swap. With young Finn still swaddled with his own blankets from home, she returned only an hour after the swap and knocked on the door of his mother, Cara. She begged for Cara to swap back children, even offering her a boon or two as a bonus. But Cara refused, and deemed the fae unfit to raise any child. She instead took Finn back, and swore to raise Darcy as her own child. The fae warned that he'll be called back to the woods one day, but Cara simply slammed the door in her face and settled her child down next to his new brother. They were completely identical, besides the fact that Darcy had pointed ears just a bit sharper than what's deemed normal. But as the boys grew older, the differences began to grow too. It wasn't long before Darcy was teased for his ears, despite having Finn there to back him up. On the playground, children were wary of the odd energy he gave off, preferring to play with Finn instead. Why pick the weirder looking twin when the normal one was right there? When he turned to his mother for an explanation, she simply told him that kids were weird and they'll grow out of it. They did grow out of it, but Darcy didn't. Strange things were happening in his life, and no one had any answers. He often found himself staring out at his window at night, listening to voices in the forests no one else heard. He saw women in the water, and men in the trees. He told no one, and instead buckled down on being normal. Finn was more than happy to have his brother join his activities as they grew older, since it seemed to draw him away from whatever was bothering him before. And despite the laughter and fun Darcy had, he couldn't help but feel something was wrong. Like he was forgetting something very important, or someone. By the time the twins were 17, Darcy could no longer ignore the whispers of the leaves and the echo of the streams. While out with his brother late at night for a quick slushie run, he found himself enthralled by a voice leading deep into the woods. No matter how much Finn shouted at him to stop, the young changeling charged forward towards a lake in the middle of the deep woods. He only stopped when he reached the edge of the water, his eyes glazed over golden as he stared at his own reflection. Finn was still shouting behind him and trying to catch up, but a watery hand was already emerging from the dark water to beckon Darcy closer. It wasn't until he felt the cold fingers wrap around his own that he snapped out of it, but it was far too late. Instantly, the water hag tried to yank him into the cold water, while Darcy screamed for Finn to help him. All he heard was Finn screaming and splashing into the water behind him before he blacked out. When he awoke, Darcy was back home with Finn and their mother staring at him with worried expressions. It was a miracle Finn was able to free him from the hag, having stabbed her with a particularly sharp branch laying near the shore. As the young changeling shivered in his wet clothes, his mother silently handed him a brochure for Wollstonecraft Academy.

Oda is a huldra, also known as a hulder. There are accounts of huldras being rather kind, or rather mean. In some legends, huldras would watch over the fires of charcoal burners in exchange for food. Other times, the huldra would marry a human man to become human herself. If he looked into the hole on her back and refuse marriage, she'd kill him. If he married her, she'd kill him after becoming human. Luckily, Oda is of the more curious and kind huldras...

As it appears, there are no specific rules huldras seem to follow. The only thing they all have in common is a strong dislike of people looking at the hole in their backs, and especially if they mention or point them out.

Oda's backstory is shrouded in mystery to most. Unlike many supernatural or mythical creatures of the modern world, Oda never experienced true life among humans. Her mother clung to the belief of their wild nature and kept the young huldra far away from the humans when possible, though curiosity often got the better of her. Though she never actually ventured into the nearby town, she often spied from the trees at the young human children running about. One young girl always caught her eye whenever she came out, but she never approached the woods. Perhaps it was for a good reason... Still, something about the girl intrigued Oda. With bright blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, she almost looked supernatural. Yet she was fully human, and often chastised other children about the monsters that lurked in the forest. Monsters like Oda and her mother, with their cow tails and awful hollow backs. Part of Oda wanted to prove her wrong, but another part told her to prove her right. To make her mother proud, and do what she was too old to do anymore. As she grew older and older, Oda began to sneak closer and closer to the town at night. She'd snag dresses drying on a warm summer day, or a hairbrush left abandoned on a window sill. Word began to spread across the townsfolk of the old legends coming back to life, but many dismissed her little acts of thievery as teenage pranks. That was, until Oda decided to finally make her appearance in town. On a crisp autumn day, when Oda's mother was off washing with a pooka, the young huldra decided to finally put the stuff she had stolen to do use. Picking the finest white dress and brushing her hair clean, Oda finally stepped into the town. Although met with stares at first for her lovely appearance, it didn't take long for someone to shriek and point out her tail. While old women gasped and backed away, a brave teenager yanked and pulled at the back of her dress to reveal her hollow back. By the time Oda was crying and screaming for them to stop, a group of angry townsfolk had gathered around them. The blonde hair and blue eyed girl lead the crowd, now grown up the same as Oda. She was the first one to throw a stone at the poor huldra, and she was the last one Oda saw as she ran back to the woods crying and bleeding. When she found her mother and tearfully confessed to her mistake, she was surprised to find the older huldra comforting her rather than scolding. As a fae cleaned her wounds and the pooka stitched her dress, Oda simply listened to her mother talk about all her old good experiences with humans. She confessed, however, that as time went on, the humans needed them much less, and soon became scared of them. She promised that there were good folks out there, but they were rare to find. After that, it's hard to say what happened. Oda received her brochure somehow, and her mother was almost relieved to send her off to avoid the angry humans ready to swarm the woods. Despite the attack Oda faced, she's still ever curious about humans and other creatures. Her social skills are lacking, but she has heart at least.

explanation
ganymede comes from a cursed bloodline of humans that births one shapeshifter per generation. the curse originated from his ancestors during the 17th century Basque witch trials after they gave into the hysteria, spread misinformation, accused the wrong people, and sent innocent people to their death. worse that death was considered the cursed children that would plague the family for generations. the shapeshifters have three forms: a human form, an animal form, and their "true" form. ganymede can transform into a crow as his animal form and his "true" form is a towering and emaciated monster vaguely reminiscent of a crow with scant amounts of feathers and elongated limbs and a neck. contrary to its appearance, it is insanely powerful. however, all forms are very mortal.

while his type of shapeshifter may transform between a human form and animal form at will, his "true" form will only appear at desperate times or moments of intense anger/fear and during these, he loses control of his proper conscience. the transformations are incredibly painful, but can be worthwhile.
backstory
upon the arrival of his generation in the family, only the time between birth and the first transformation of the cursed one separated a potential grim future. unfortunately for his parents, ganymede's name had been plucked out of the metaphorical hat. his first transformation didn't happen until the terrible twos; a tantrum that was bad enough he flipped on the switch of his "true" form. not only a painful experience he would never remember, but it was difficult for his parents to accept the monster that their child was below the surface. the majority of ganymede's early life from then on was spent locked in his own house, no explanation for who he was or why he was stifled as his parents tried keep his condition under wraps. this isolation time came with the consumption any and all types of information he could get his hands on. an interest in ancient history stuck, but he mainly a focus on past pandemics and disasters. perhaps his current fascination with the plague doctor aesthetic was a result of these times. however, with the isolation came the desperation for human interaction and anything else interesting he could get his hands on. the state of living his parents succumbed him to may have been the worst mistake they could have made. at the ripe age of 13, ganymede nearly murdered one of his cousins at a birthday party and permanently traumatized them due to the nature of his transformations. an official explanation was in order. learning about the curse and his forms was scary, painful, and uncharted territory. controlling it by staying blissfully unaware was no longer an option. it was a part of himself forced himself embrace, but hated with a passion. his parents had unintentionally caused the fear of his own identity, temporarily making him an anxious, depressed, and self-deprecating mess. the rest of the family already shunned him and his parents for the horrors he bestowed upon them. it wasn't long before the call was made that he had to leave. after all, he was a monster that shouldn't be coddled-- a monster in a human disguised incapable of genuine love and destined to create disaster. where was he to go other than wsc? a place he belonged but a place he was afraid of losing. what would come after? was there something after?

Wings: ~13” when fully extended, or about 6’6” per wing. Her wing feathers resemble those of a lammergeier, black with some thin white/reddish understripping.
Body: Zaya’s arms are separate from her wings, but covered in the same whitish-gold feathers as most of her upper body. She has three scaly looking fingers and thumb per hand, and sharp claws protruding from each. Zaya has a human torso, if more heavily feathered. She has the diamond shaped tail of a lammergeier coming from her back above her waist, and the fluffy feathered ‘pants’ as well. Her feet are just straight up talons, instead of the more vaguely humanoid arrangement of her hands. Zaya has the general coloring expected of an adult lammergeier- black wings, tawny body, white head- but she fears that being away from the mineral rich dusts and waters means she will never achieve the vibrancy of her mothers.

Alernate form: Zaya has two forms- The first is her natural form as described above, and is what she is most comfortable with. The second was developed for her by a group of graduating seniors as part of a capstone project last year and is a series of illusion and transformation spells contained in a necklace. She must use her own energy to power the spells, and doing so allows her to pass as human- It hides her wings and lengthens her legs, disguises her talons into feet, makes her eyes look like normal brown irises and other such things. It is not perfect by any means, of course. It hides only the feathers on her face, her hands and lower arms, her feet and ankles. It also does nothing to alter her unusual and somewhat inhuman facial features- Her nose is hooked and very narrow, her eyes are large and set very far apart, her cheeks seems almost pulled too thin between her sharp jaw and high, flat cheekbones, and her wide forehead is dominated by heavy, dark brows. Zaya does not consider herself ‘ugly’, and instead thinks it is the others at the Academy who are somewhat peculiar looking. As previously noted, Zaya prefers her natural form for a variety of reasons, though she has been practicing using her ‘human’ form so that she gets better at holding it.

wardrobe: In her natural form, Zaya tends to wear a loose crop top with a modified back that doesn’t bother her wings, and has taken to wearing a pair of athletic shorts as well. ‘Modesty’ is apparently something other people value, though Zaya does not much see the point when she is covered in feathers anyways. If going into town in her humanoid form, Zaya will wear long pants like sweats or jeans, and one of the several shirts she owns- Pretty much all solid colored crew necks with wrist or elbow length sleeves.

Personality: Zaya is a bit shy, and though she is relatively confident in who she is as a harpy, she feels insecure in her new role as student. She is quite curious though, and knows she has opportunities other harpies have never had. She intends to make the most of it.
Alignment: Neutral. Zaya’s understanding of human morality standards is still developing, but generally she will do whatever she perceives as best for her.

— SPECIES: Harpy, lammergeier vulture.

Harpies were never a super populous species to begin with, but these days they are quite rare. Their various body parts can be used in a vast range of magics- their feathers in wandcores, their bile in potions, their bodies in haruspicy, their bones in rune casting- and they were hunted ruthlessly during the 1600s and 1700s by those wanting to use them in spellwork. This sharp decline in the harpy population also led remaining harpies to be far more secretive and reclusive. Though they had never been particularly active in supernatural communities- the exception being those Greek sisters, of course, who had to get their beaks involved in everything- harpies began taking measures to more actively isolate themselves.

The habits and diets of a harpy tend to follow those of the bird of prey to which they are related. They have some innate magical powers, including the ability to summon and direct storm winds, and to divine things such as truth or guilt in a person. This second ability is usually underdeveloped in modern harpy generations, however, and can really only be improved upon with exposure to non-harpies. Though it is ‘innate’ in that all harpies could theoretically learn to do it, it is much harder to develop than calling winds.

Harpies reproduce by unknown means- As far as can be inferred, they hatch from regular bird eggs. No harpy has ever revealed more than that, and likely never will.

Harpies are difficult to kill, but only because they tend to be much stronger and faster than the average human- Also they can fly, have very sharp talons, and can direct winds to their advantage. So there’s that. However, the physical act of killing a harpy is no different than killing any other human, or a very large bird of prey.

Historically, records indicate individual harpies can live for more than 100 years, but they do seem to age and eventually die of natural causes (if more slowly than their human, and certainly bird, counterparts).

Harpies pick up languages quite easily, though the speaking and listening tends to come more naturally than the reading and writing. (Especially the writing- It’s hard to hold a pencil with claw-like fingers.)

Specifics on Zaya:

Zaya’s diet consists mostly of bone marrow, though she will eat carrion if she has too. Smaller bones she will swallow whole, and larger ones she will drop from great heights in order to break apart into pieces that are either small enough, or have the marrow exposed. She also enjoys the occasional turtle or lizard. Thus far the Academy has done a decent job at providing her suitable meal options, and she has been here long enough now to finally be comfortable asking the hunting students to leave out any carcasses they bring down in the Forest of Many Voices.

Zaya is diurnal and tends to be awake in the day and asleep at night, though she does change that schedule up if there is occasion to. She has incredibly good eyesight, though her ability to spot carrion across an open plain does not translate well to her new forest hunting area. Her stomach acid has an extremely low pH (she can dissolve a bone in up to 24 hours afterall), and she will vomit that out at you if she feels threatened. It will probably sting a bit.

Zaya can comfortably carry and fly with her own body weight (up to 70 lbs), and could probably do up to twice that for a short distance, though she wouldn’t be happy about it. Supposedly her magic would allow her to carry off a human of any size or weight, if they were guilty of something bad enough, but she has never tested that and is not particularly interested in doing so either- It seems more likely that harpies carrying people off were doing so using their wind powers, rather than some justice-inspired super strength.


— HISTORY.
Zaya grew up in the Himalayan mountains, living a secluded but happy life. One of her mothers died when she was young. Zaya remembers her fondly, though not particularly well. Though she and her remaining mother generally stayed in their territory, they did travel on occasion to visit other harpies around the continents as well as some of her mother’s other friends.

Her mother taught her to defend herself, though their run ins with humans were not frequent. There were humans in their territory with whom they had standing relationships with who helped protect them, and they moved their nest at any sign of poachers.

But about a year and a half ago, their luck ran out. Someone had betrayed them to a group of poachers. Zaya managed to escape. Her mother did not.

Her brochure appeared shortly after. Zaya was hesitant to accept, due to her distrust of magic users. But she also knew she was still young, and was not confident in her ability to survive in the wild by herself. She tried living by herself for about two weeks before accepting the invitation and arriving at Wollstonecraft Academy.

The adjustment has been difficult for Zaya, but so far she has not regretted her decision. Yet.

Relationships (family, friends, dating, etc):

Family:
Both mothers deceased, one recently and one in early childhood.

Friends: Zaya has made reference to friends and acquaintances outside of the Academy, of both the human and supernatural variety. However, she usually clams up pretty quickly once she realizes she’s mentioned them.

At the Academy: Zaya has been slow to make friends. At first she was in mourning and dealing with some serious life adjustments, and even once she tried to be more social- Well. People did not react as well to a freshly cracked turtle as she had assumed they would. Generally speaking, she avoids the witchcraft students and those who live at Ra. She tends to hang around with the more ‘monstrous’ students- regardless of their personality or if they enjoy her company- as she feels more comfortable with them.

To be blunt, Cecilia is a huge bitch. Not unlikable, and certainly not incapable of decency, but it's a label she's accepted once she became the student body president of Wollstonecraft. Since childhood, she has held high standards for herself and others around her. Ballet has taught her rigorous self-discipline, but Cecilia cannot help but love to collect information and observe. Her throne is high and all-seeing, and she'd like to keep it that way, thank you very much. Many of her more unlikable traits come from her lonely years as a kid, and the unfortunate situation between her parents, but Cecilia isn't incapable of being a flighty, careless teenager. Occasionally, the girl will indulge in reckless fun, such as smoking, drinking, the typical teenage party life. Her thinking, however, is quite self-centered. Cecilia truly does think she's above most people, and loves the power and status that being the headmistress' daughter gives her. Truly a queen bee.

Cecilia has the potential for this "magic" ability that she channels through both a natural source within herself, and can strengthen through the study of spellbooks, ancient texts and grimoires; wherein magic means being able to create, cause and bring about events unexplained or inconceivable for human science and comprehension, whether because science cannot explain them yet, or because they are impossible in our plane of existence. This ability for magic is also genetic; it is passed down through every woman in her family's bloodline, and Cecilia is the daughter of a very powerful witch. Her mother, the dean of the school, is a host for the unfathomable eldritch creature.

Cecilia's magic skill is like a physical muscle that her human body can sometimes struggle to flex, and as of now, significant spells and potions require a considerable amount of research, preparation, magical energy, and take a toll on her body. Cecilia is constantly pushing the limits of her magic to go bigger, better and more powerful, and she is far too prideful to have a sense of self-preservation that warns her she could easily die if she pushed her three-dimensional body into the creation of multi-dimensional events too harshly. Depending on what she wants to achieve, performing bigger acts of magic drain her physical and mental energy, and can harm her body if too significant.

Shoes clack and bend the wood of the church floors as good folks shuffle between the pews.

A smart and lonely child is a dangerous child. Cecilia is the single daughter born to a God-fevered father, and a cursed monstrous mother. Her puritan father preached at the town's church, her mother was the host of an unfathomable Lovecraftian being. Not exactly a functional family. Cecilia's curious life truly began the day her father could no longer ignore the permeable darkness around her mother. The townsfolk whispered rumors about devil worship and demonic beings. She was otherworldly - an unstable force of nature. Vivetta would no longer bend.

In a distant room at the back of the house, the sound of bones snapping and joints cracking into unnatural positions echoes.

Her mother was an uncaring creature. Born of the eldritch, Cecilia can withstand the use of the horrifying and sometimes euclidean magic, her mortal body developing thick skin. Her coven surrounds her in the empty room, mumbling incantations and channeling their magic with Cecilia as the conduit. She bends, she snaps, she's twisted into shapes and is spat out through wormholes and moves in a seizure-like pattern as whatever her mother incites bends space and time within the room. Regular spell practice, she'd later say. Cecilia endures this as a child, she endures it as she turns thirteen. There is no place like home.

A cursed timeline of witches, doomed to burn but never to die.

With a firm hand on her shoulder, Cecilia stands by her father's side as Vivetta is tried and burned, accused of witchcraft and devil worship. I'm free, she thinks. She watches her mother die at the stake with the rest of her coven. Ash and the sickening smell of cooked flesh hang thick in the air - Vivetta did not flinch, did not scream, but simply watched her daughter with a stone-faced look. Her father is relieved, and the town is safe once again. But, Cecilia is still afflicted by her mother's impact. Of course, born from the eldritch being of her mother, Cecilia inherited her power. Genetics are a blessing, after all. Her father finds her standing on the ceiling one afternoon, speaking tongues and eyes rolled back. Her father finds her one day with cuts on her arms, but no blood, only a black ichor that slowly drips out. Her father cannot control her, he knows this as she shoves her hand in the fireplace but does not burn. One day, her father tragically dies of a mysterious but timely heart attack. What a shame.

species: neerim is a bunyip, a beast of aboriginal australian origin, infamous for lurking around marshy areas and eating whomever stalks too close to their water.

history: neerim has no memory of being born. nor, precisely, does he have an exact memory of what one could consider a "childhood." to the best of his recollection, he has looked as he does now for the rise and fall of many a moon. prior to his arrival at the wollstonecraft academy, he resided in a dewy swamp region in australia, feasting upon tourists and those poor unfortunate souls who desired to solve the mystery of the many disappearances in his region. it was a simple, gory existence. he swam, walked, and observed wildlife, but felt as though he had no autonomy to show for his consciousness. it was dismal.

it carried on like that for an uncountable amount of time, until it did not. on a day that was dry, with bright sun, when he had gone what felt like ages since he had last properly eaten, someone arrived. he stalked, rose, roared, and grasped, as he did on a typical hunt, but to no avail. his visitor was somehow unaffected. they were amused, lips upturned, eyes alight. they called themselves ████ ██████ ████████ , and asked how he'd fancy a change of scenery. they explained that this was not customary---at home visits were seldom given, but they figured a letter would do no good, as neerim was illiterate. he was offered something called an education at a thing called an academy, where he could experience things far beyond what this swamp offered him.

though in terms of chronology, neerim is likely ancient, his spirit is young. his curiosity bested him. he agreed. on that day, his life changed eternally. the strange individual gave neerim his name, as he had never had anything to call himself by, and an entirely new existence. he has been at wollstonecraft ever since.

EXPLANATION.
naressa is a gorgon. the origins of the monster are rather murky, however her mother told her a story of how long ago a warlock cursed the entire bloodline of dupont women after an altercation with her ancestor, claiming no man or woman would wish to look upon a treacherous creature such as a gorgon.

with snakes hidden within their hair, snake-like scales, slit pupils, and larger eyes that glow when in use, naressa’s only power is her ability to turn people to stone just by looking at them. being turned to stone isn’t deadly, but cannot be reversed—those turned into stone are unable to do anything but watch from their stone encasement which seems worse than death. their brain operates fine, however many tend to go insane. the only way to kill them would be to shatter their stoned body.
RULE OF SPECIES.
she isn’t immortal, however her snake-like skin protects her from injuries that normally hurt humans. due to her physiology, naressa is vulnerable to the cold and tends to get cold quite fast when left in temperatures lower than 40°F. aside from protecting others from her deadly powers, naressa wears contacts to help with her rather poor eyesight.
EXTRA.
although attached to her head, her snakes have a mind of their own and are quite possessive of naressa, therefore it’s advised to take caution when standing close to her as they may snap. they like some people, but not all.
