I like it when the person has big vocabulary. Like, make me get out my dictionary. Teach me new words!

Something I suggest would be wording it different, such as instead of telling them to stop being overdramatic, you can ask if they could tone it down. Ask them to try to make their character's actions a bit more realistic. I'm not sure if any of this could help, but I suggest just bringing it up...
