One more update. I investigated further and saw the part in our software that is old and conflicting, so I've muted it for now, and it seems that Fontawesome has let me switch the site back to Fontawesome 6 (we do use some 6 icons, like the shield with the heart for the moderator ribbon)...

Do a hard refresh with control f5 if your on a desktop, should be back.

Yeah...Fontawesome keeps releasing new versions is fine and in theory it should just silently update with the new icons, but our forum software is old, but that's a different conversation for a different day. We have ideas and plans on how to resolve FA being more compatible with posts. I love...

So the issue appears to be on FA's end. We've been using or at-least were supposed to be using FontAwesome 5 but the settings in our fontawesome account (we pay for this, so the site can have this) were set to 6 automatically and the site software just isn't ready to provide 6 just yet.

Should be fixed, could you confirm?

I believe if you change the password, it logs out every device logged into your account.

If you click on the words disable me right above the activity typing bar, it just takes you to the page where you can do it. It was just a quick and handy link.

On the account details page, there's an option for "Disable Activity Bar"

One last followup, theres even a little disable me button that appears ontop now. Takes you to the page.

I'll see if I can make a profile toggle where you can turn that off. Will take me a few days, but I think I can do it. It wouldn't actually be messing with the physical code of the feature, it's just a visual style thing, so we control the site's theme.

It was just a matter of increasing settings and resources, its all good now.

That just came with the update, its not something we actively decide to turn on. We do use a software called xenForo and third-party mods, fixes, developers and so forth. This was one such third-party update. I can't speak for the programmer who made it or for xenforo, but I assume its because...

I've gone ahead and moved the thread to The Community Hub. As to why it exists, the feature has always existed, for years in fact. It was just inconsistent and pretty broken. It just means you can see replies to stuff without refreshing the page. Heres the announcement thread about it :)...
