Is there a option to choose what you get notification for? If not there should be so I don't wake up in the morning and have 20 notifications with 18 of them being status updates from the same person.

Maybe break down followers into two groups? RP Partners: People you RP with, you will get a notification from them if they post in a RP you are part of? Friends: People you don't necessary RP with but still talk to.
