Can't speak for anyone else, but I just like old stuff because it does things better than new stuff. Well, there is the new DOOM and several other newer games that are really good. I actually want to get into game development in the future, maybe as a story writer.
I've never really liked fighting games. I dunno if it's some kind of frame of mind that I'm missing or what, but it doesn't really click with me. I also don't like it when you can learn every tiny detail and trick in the game and still get beaten by somebody button-mashing. A la Smash Bros.
I'm talking about OLD games, not stuff that came out two years ago.
