I only started playing Starcraft starting from Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty and unfortunately my current PC can't handle the game well... but the zerg are indeed an amazing race XD

Sad that I can't play it today. I got really frustrated when I just couldn't win as a child. I played it relatively recently and I guess it stirred up some bad emotions.
Zerg though. Frightening, growing, vicious, and spontaneous beasts! Everything I like in a nutshell.

Idea
Yeah. Even the simplest AI gave me a lot of trouble at first. Nowadays the few chances I get I usually end up racing to get the game done in less than 5 minutes.
Zerg: I love the idea of this biological fighter species and all the adaptations and structures of living zerg, and I love the idea of this ultra-fast evolution and adaptation. Zerg also has my favorite Starcraft character, Abathur.

Oh trust me, I'm pretty sure the new Starcraft is easier than the old one. Idk how we played that game, I'm pretty sure the AI is unfair in that one.
I haven't played the more recent ones, so I don't know about the characters, but yeah! I'm pretty sure that Starcraft was a huge contributor to my creativity and fascination with living, breathing things. Buildings, ships, ect.
