The reason we fight in this world is FOR a better one.
If we finally achieved a perfect world, our fighting would finally be finished, and we could move on.
A perfect world would be of great worth because it's one we fought for.

Then what would happen afterwords? What would we do then? What would we strive and die for if not for something better? In a perfect world, its perfect yes... but its only an illusion. A still clear pond of water is beautiful at the moment of its inception after the storm has passed and the waters calm. But eventually it festers, stagnates and grows rotten.

Hmm... Well, that sparks a whole long discussion. For me, at least, it comes down to my personal religious beliefs. I believe that eventually, if we choose so, we can become perfect beings like God himself. The path's long and rocky (Hence the fighting for perfection), but we can get there eventually. Afterwards? Also a very long philosophical discussion.

*chuckles* perfection is a lie my friend, its not possible to achieve. Yet in our quest for perfection we can become great, the unattainable must be obtained yes? Mankinds greatest folly, and strongest strength.

I suppose that we'll have to agree to disagree about the possibility of perfection. I'm pretty strong in my faith that it does exist, just as you're strong in your faith that it doesn't.

Strive? Die? Fight? In a perfect world why would you need any of those things? The world you describe, this "illusion" you speak of, that is not a perfect world. Perfection is a whole thing- not a concept with gaps. The best, the peak of all that is good. If something has flaws, then it's not perfection. I know that may be a hard concept to grasp or seem impossible- which is why communion with a perfect being would

Be needed to achieve it. Now you may not believe in this, what you believe in is your choice, but just because you do not beleieve perfection is achievable, that wouldn't mean that perfection isn't still, well, perfect.

I couldn't have put it in a better way

Because in a perfect world perfection becomes the norm, and if everything is perfect then we have no need to struggle and fight which leads to stagnation. Life was never meant to stand still, to stand still is to die. I would not wish for a perfect world, life looses all meaning without the harships we endure. A sunrise is beautiful because each one is unique and theres no telling if you will get to see another one.

You're making quite a few assumptions there- say that time itself is not present then. Can thing become stagnant in the absence of time itself? For it time is imperfect, then time does fit in a perfect world. Stagnation does not fit in a perfect world. If you contradict your premise your conclusion has no gorunds to stand on.

*shakes head* im not talking about time in reference to stagnation and it is you who are not understanding what I mean. When I mean stagnation, I mean mankinds evolution our ability to go forth and solve problems, create new things. Perfection is a direct contradiction to the necessity and idea of evolution and for that I will not abide.

For what purpose do you advocate for aimless evolution? Or do you suppose that there is some purpose to it that falls outside of what perfection would achieve?

What other reason than the betterment of mankind? Not only just us but whomever or whatever we meet out in the great wide cosmos? Because mankind needs pain and suffering to move forward, we learn best when there are things out there that possibly could do us harm or are problems, it gives us incentive to better ourselves. A perfect world doesn't provide that. For we have already got everything we want.

I'm a little confused. You are telling that you do not accept being at the finish line because you aren't continuing to walk towards it. Because a goal isn't being achieved, but rather already has been achieved you feel as though it is unnaceptable.
Jarkov Malachai
Jarkov Malachai
Exactly, you've reached your goal. Congratulations… now what? What MORE is there to work towards. How can you become better? Improvement, advancement is a driving goal, a need, a ideal inherent in both our mind and genes. In a perfect world I couldn't look up at the stars and wonder to myself whats out there, cause i'd already know, the stars wouldn't hold their mystery or allure.
