Well, it's (in theory) a pratice similar to the sharing christian belief proposes. In pratice it's actually anti-religion, and religion is not actually the main motivator though, but that does help to show how appealing the idea of equality is. Communism doesn't work, but the idea of it becomes more and more appealing when there is blatant inequality even though an economy is in crisis.

it appeals to angry poor people and idealistic/retarded university students

Lorsh Lorsh well, the same could be said of capitalism if supporting a particular system is retarded. Of course, if you mean supporting a particular side of the issue blindly, then I'd be inclined to agree with you that it is retarded. But just being on a particular side or fiding it appealing is merely a matter of which you think as a better option- stability, safety and order or development and freedom.

I think i prefer the Former with a pinch of freedom

The capitalist system opens itself to not only just as many loopholes, over-reliance on it encourages humanitarian crimes. many of which will affect many more lives than the dictatorships of communism would. I am not saying communism is a good thing, mind you. Ultimately, I still agree with capitalism more.

So basically my point is it's a complicated issue. And it's especially complicated because ALL systems are right. And all systems are wrong. Because the system is not the problem- the problem is that people's mentality is always to try to exploit the system and never be satisfied with what they have.

Castro died a rich man and the rest of his country was starving. Communism is a modern day feudalism. It's not the end of the world objectively like anarchy, but the people suffer under that authoritarian type of regime. The fact that there's any discussion here shows a lack of awareness for the historical plight of people who were under communism in the past.
Idea

Bacon is fluffy Bacon is fluffy it's lack of awareness but lack of connection. Yes, the soviet union was an utter disaster but one doesn't need to be a historian or communist to realize there is a big difference in cicumstances and that those scenarios don't necessarily represent all forms of socialism

Socialism is different from communism. They're of the same vien, with the government appropriating private business. However what you're essentially arguing for is to be poor and that communism isn't inherently tyrannical. If you can sit there with a straight face and say that someone else taking your house at gun point, wouldn't piss you the hell off. Idea Idea

then I won't respond anymore. because there's a fundamental difference between us.

what I said is that the ideals of communism are appealing and explained why the situation that happened historically is not representative of those ideals. I am not pro-communism nor justifying it's actions but I am saying people are not swayed to it out of being retarded, they are swayed to it when the opposite offer attacks them at such a level that they despair and take that other option

Nobody insulted others for believing in communism. Billsomething even says, he can't understand why anyone would like communism. However there comes a point where you just can't even entertain the idea, lest people twist it into something good. Now I was not actually responding to you but rather being firm in my own stance. That this is a no brainer to me.
Idea

very well. I won't try to argue further then. However, isn't say the situation is a no brainer even though people disagree about it, imply that said disagreeers "have no brain"?

No as in, there's no room to discuss anything. If I ask you, " How do you feel about simply walking up to someone and killing them"? Any person in their right mind would say thats insane and buzz off. I'm equivocating the topic of communism to that of senseless murder.
Idea

Well, yes, but that very thought does still imply anyone that does do it is clinically insane.
