[Sorry if the title seemed alarming or concerning. No, I am not quitting RPing. I’ve already been through that phase. 
]
Time flies. I can’t believe that I’ve been RPing for a year now. I know, I know, I’m one of the newest RPers in our community. And I can’t believe how much I’ve improved in a year. That aside, I have officially been RPing for a year now. As we all know, I love talking about myself. Skip the next several paragraphs to get to the shoutouts and stuff.
It all originated on a site called ROBLOX, which some of you know very well, and the rest of you have probably heard of (If you haven’t… I’ll be surprised
). We used to have a roleplaying forum (RPF) there. On February 4th, 2017, I started “RPing” on an endless story type thread. Yes, I had very poor tastes.
Later in the month, I recall creating an RPG. It was based in a wizard dimension. I suppose it wasn’t too bad… veterans like Henry and Owning joined. It died out right away though. I also made a choose-your-path style camping RP, though it was low quality. Back then, I was mainly into the endless stories.
In April, I met this guy named Bossman (I think you hate him
Daffybebe
, but I’m not sure.). He joined my endless stories, and in return, I joined his elementary school RP. Looking back on it, it was pathetic, and it went from an RP about kids trapped in a school to kids escaping the zombie apocalypse. I recall Daffy, or as I knew her then, Bolram, calling me and Bossman out.
But then, on April 20th, 2017, I came across an RP called “Villains vs. Heros!” (Spelled that way too!). I saw people whom I recognized, and I signed up as John Doe, or, The Doe. The RP had no plot, no setting, and no basic lore. It lasted until mid May, before I quit. It collapsed after I took my leave, as I had established one of the major villains. Soon after,
The Golden General
took interest in revamping the RP.
Around early June, Golden released Villains & Heroes II. “Heros” became “heroes” and “vs” became “&.” VnH had been created. I signed up as Doe again, and I was joined by some other members from the original VnH.
During the course of the RP, the veterans, like myself, from VnH I began to quit. I myself noticed a significant change in the quality of posts. This was truly when I started to change. I met @Infantstein112, Golden, an old friend named SwedishLemon (who has sadly left us forever), and @-Solosgar/@-Amoradon during this time.
The RP was running beautifully until July 14th, 2017, when ROBLOX announced they’d shut down all of forums, except for a few. We hastily moved to RPN, and rallied up everyone on Discord. I joined RPN a day after, on July 15th, 2017. During this time, we lost SwedishLemon.
I must admit, I was at first skeptical about joining RPN. I was more up for staying on ROBLOX, in other forums. But I’m glad we didn’t. I’ve met some of the most talented, skilled RPers here ( D duegxybus and
Shadowfall
are only a few.), whom I never would have met if we didn’t move here.
I met Akibahara, and joined Millennium City. I also became more involved in the VnH revamp, and I became head writer. Eventually, in August, we posted the revamp. It did not succeed, however. My next goal was to host the revamp of the original VnH. V&H I: First Struggle was formed.
We gathered some old members, some new. Before long, we, thanks to all of your support for me and the RP, became a hosted project. And here we are, now on V&H II. We are still running. V&H has finally taken off.
A year has affected how I RP very much. I have changed quite a bit (Daffy and Golden can attest. ). I want to personally thank those who have had the greatest influence on my RPing- even those who are not with us anymore.
Golden, you had a significant influence on me. I want to thank you for your patience, and allowing me to grow and change when VnH II rolled around. An inexperienced DailyRoLord joined the RP, and you let him adapt, instead of kicking him. I thank you for letting him have the chance to assume a greater role in VnH.
SwedishLemon, even though you’ve been gone for months now, you are truly an amazing friend. You gave me tips and invaluable advice. You shared your thoughts with me. On the RPF, you were, hands down, the most talented RPer I had met. Thank you for your advice and kindness. You are a very kindhearted person, and I hope we can one day talk once more.
Amoradon (some of you know her as Solosgar or DarkGod), without a doubt, had the greatest influence on my RPing. Though she’s been transformed into something that I never dreamed she would become, it doesn’t change how I remember her- as the energetic, hardworking, friendly head writer of VnH who helped shape my RPing. It deeply saddens me to see how she’s changed so much. But I still remember her as the person I looked up to, the person who most shaped me. Thank you Amora, and if you’re still here, I say hello.
I additionally want to thank Daffybebe/Bolram, Infant, and
doggodaily
. Though you guys didn’t really have a significant influence on my RPing, I’ve known you all since the very beginning of my journey, and all three of you are stellar, loyal friends. You guys are the best.
Sorry to the new RPN users that I’ve met. Everyone I’ve met has had some influence on my RPing, but the people from ROBLOX have had the most. Fear not! You will all get shoutouts when I hit one year on RPN.
And finally, I want to thank every single person who has played a role in Villains & Heroes, which is, unbelievably, the same series that originated on ROBLOX. I want to thank this fabulous community. Without your support, V&H would never have achieved liftoff. Thank you all so much. I cannot imagine V&H without you all.
I’m not going anywhere. God willing, I will still be here next year, so I can celebrate two years. All of you are some of the most kind, talented, skilled, and funniest people I’ve met here. Thank you.
