Other What made you smile today?

What made you smile today? What made you laugh? Was there anything that brought you out of a downtrodden mood? Was it seeing a friend, or being paid a particularly nice compliment? Maybe it was something you read or wrote? Tell me about all the things that made you happy today!

What made me smile today was when I drove around town with my sister and blasted music out of my truck, belting as loud as we could. Nothing better than singing your heart out.
Visited my mom for Christmas. Recently, I've started to sleep with two pillows to help with some back pain. Last time I visited my mom, I asked for an extra pillow. This time, she just remembered I'd asked for it, and gave me 2 pillows. There's just something so absolutely lovely about being around people who listen to you and remember little things, and do things to make your life easier because they love you.

Hope you're doing well!

Ahhhh an old rp partner returned today they’re still amazing. 🥺

Cool!

The thing that made me smile was the fact that the radio didn't play super cheesy love songs this morning when I woke up. Valentine's Day does that to people.

My fur child waking me up every morning, a very large red orange cat with long permanently fluffy baby hair because of an operation, nuzzling with intense aggressive cuddles and when this isn't food driven I'm like in literal heaven. I swear cats are magic, for real, he even paws at my hair like he's brushing it and literally bends his head for forehead kisses. Bonk

that is so adorable! i agree that cats are magic, i swear even if they are mostly nonchalant they know how to find a way to your heart

also your cat is orange. do you agree that all orange cats share one brain cell? XD

my other beautiful black cat randomly freaked out wanting to be in the bathtub with me today. I've been extremely unwell and he gets nervous if he can't see me. I had to hold him above the water gingerly because I knew he would hate being IN the water. He was purring away but I eventually put him down and oh my gosh you should of seen the freak out! Like I never saw a cat just want to be held by their owner when bathing like my cats are not normal fur creatures.

I love them all to death. All of them are adorable in their own way. My other cat is very much a chatter box as well and well demand you look at him. He wont want you to pick him up but you HAVE to look at him

My rp partner drawing our characters :>
I loved it when my people would do that for me.
Contrary to what happens to most my falling out with my people had little to do with like dramatics and more to do with the ability to procreate. Random, I'm going there, but I love them they are still part of my lives but they don't have time to draw anymore but when they did it was so freaking fantastic. So to branch into what makes me smile , remembering those times and I still do have some of the art. I also really loved reading my work out loud to my friends. I remember we would go on long walks and I would bring my sheets of written character and read them out like a play. It was so silly. We were all silly. What makes me smile is my friends kids are almost old enough that I can start teaching them how to write as well and some of my friends kids can draw much better than I ever will and maybe they can draw something for me hehe

Even though I feel terrible and tried to take a nap, I couldn't help but grin as my dog played with her flying spaghetti monster (or so I call it) toy and have zoomies. She's always good at entertaining herself when I don't feel good.

this is my first time watching a theatrical play after the pandemic (since i have money to spare and it was a college production so nothing too big). it was so good and chilling, the actors are really good, and the choreography is *chef's kiss*

oddly enough
my cat always freaks out when I talk to my mother on the phone like he was practically hissing at me just a few moments ago and he's such a sweet boy normally...i guess he's not a fan of grandma. It oddly made me smile because here I am trying to listen to someone in their eighties and then hopping around trying to redirect my fur child

I saw a very little dog being walked in a stroller. He was standing up and enjoying exploring. To make it even better, a slightly bigger (though still very small) dog passed and looked jealous. I mean, I want the other dog to have a stroller, but the sweet little face made me smile.

When I woke up this morning, and went downstairs, my dogs were both so excited to see me! It makes me so happy to see them be so happy about something as simple as me saying good morning to them. :closedeyescryingfrown:<3💘♥️💓💙💕💗💝

So for health reasons I don't work full time, and my main hobby are my plants. I occasionally talk to them (but I basically talk to everything, whether animate or not), they all have names, you get it. ADHD long-term hyperfixation at its finest lol

Anyway, so I recently went to our local garden center because I needed some new pots (everyone saying succulents grow slowly haven't seen my spiky little growth-spurt monster yet) and I found this pathetic looking little potato-shaped, wrinkly tree-thing with yellowed leaved hanging limply off those spindly branches on their 'save me' shelf.
Basically, all plants on that shelf are in bad condition and sold for a few pennies before they eventually are discarded.

Well, so I took that sad little knob with me, after recognizing that it's an ungrafted desert rose! It's actually hard to find those, unless you order them online, as most desert roses get grafted onto oleander stems to make them grow slimmer and faster, but a well-grown ungrafted desert rose is one of the most beautiful plants out there (in my opinion, at least) and easily lives for over 100 years!

So I put it in a bigger pot, gave it proper soil, a sunny spot by the window and some water and the right fertilizer and it started sprouting fresh leaves and buds all over!
I named her Addi and I can happily say- she's out of the woods and doing very well! Can't wait for her first bloom!

Today I lost it at my office as I no longer put a thought behind any actions I did, so when I zoomed across the room at my coworker with fists ready to fight, even giving it a lil spin to really put in the punch before I abruptly stopped in front of it and just sat at my desk like nothing happened and started typing email - she and our team leader looked at me horrified before we all started laughing abruptly. Their comments were funny as fuck, made me wheeze. I also might have put three glasses on top of each other and on my face so they all were concerned about me while laughing their asses off and their laughter is contagious.

(In my defence we take turns losing our shit so I am not the only one who does random shit there)

I struggle with agoraphobia and today I got up, showered, and drew outside in the sun.

If you give yourself the chance- you can have a good time.

I realized that a little more today and that makes me smile.

Have a good day everyone- you owe it to yourself to be patient ✨
