I've been playing the For Honor beta for maybe an hour and a half now...
-Heavy breathing-
Personally, I think the creepiest locations in all of Dark Souls 3 would be as follows:
- Fire keeper's tomb. In the tower where the sword master is in front of before you kill him, the floor is covered with not only bones and skulls, but the skeletons of long departed fire keepers who have already done their duty, that is tending the flame. Not only does it make you wonder how long the cycle as been continuing for, but how the current Fire keeper is able to remain in firelink knowing that she will one day end up among her sisters as another discarded corpse .
- Dark Firelink. I've never been one to handle intentially "scary" situations well, so it just makes the whole feel of this place even worse. First it's submerged in darkness, representing that it is what occurs when you "walk-away" and instead of linking the fire, you allow the Age of Darkness to come once more. Second, there are remains of most of the NPCs such as Andre and his hammer, and even worse, the fire keeper's eyes (as most of them had their sight taken.) Finally, the damned handmaiden. There are theories that she's the same one as in regular firelink (if you talk to the one in Dark firelink first she claims to recognize you) but just the fact that she's the only living being inside the building... fucking hell.
I nerded out hard there for a minute but meh, I NEEDED TO GET THAT OUT.
