I'm Qwerty (or Dandelion)

  • I have been roleplaying for 11 years, primarily multi paragraph. I am also a hobbyist author of sci fi, psychological horror, and romance.

  • I am specifically interested in anything that is cerebrally stimulating and involves psychological themes. I often roleplay in wastelands or in low-resource conditions, not to write action, but to figure out how a character would cope with every small stressor in a disastrous world.
    I enjoy most dystopias across the spectrums of resource, authoritarianism, and place/ time.
    I can hang on for a couple of slice of life threads roughly once or twice a month, but I gravitate towards melodramatic or 'intense' scenes the majority of the time.
    I ADORE supernatural elements.
    I have a thin range of sci-fi I enjoy; I enjoy cronenberg and sci-fi relating to and illustrating the ostensible flaws of man through fantasy levels of technology, and therefor, power and control over the nature of reality itself.
    Humans are fucked up, and I want to write about the consequences human shittiness has when given power or difficult circumstances. I want to understand how a character works by watching them fail, fix a situation, rest, and then fail again, because that feels like life to me.
    I ocassionally want a break to write some inanely funny hysterical balls to the wall bonkers hilarious shit on a god damn whim.

  • i am a layabout, i eat chips, i recover gradually from being alive, i have a robe I have been wearing since I was 5 that I still wear every day because its god damn comfortable. yes, it was drastically oversized on me as a child, and it made me feel like a fucking king, and it still does.

  • It seems like the most trustworthy site and I appreciate it's lack of explicit content

Um...Hello! I don't even know what to say lol. I'm new and I joined because my friend joined lol. I really enjoy roleplaying and I hope for the best!
 
Howdy, my name is Bear. I'm new to this website and still unsure how this fully works but i'm tryna give it a go. I've been rping for about 4 years now overall, mostly on discord but i spent about a year on chatzy. I would consider myself to be Adv-Lit to Novella in most circumstances, however i am capable of writing less to broaden my horizons. Generally, though, i like to keep it around two paragraphs at the minimum. I am capable of proper grammar and punction, i also tend to write with a spell check on so i can catch most mistakes before i even send out a message.

My preferred genres vary widely so I'm quite flexible when it comes to plot and universe. I am a fan of High Fantasy, Low Sci-Fi (Less than 200 years into the future.), Slice of Life, Romance, Survival, Apocalypse, Horror, Thriller, ect. I'm basically down for whatever you got as long as i know the universe or if you want to create your own.

Haha yeah with RPers that tends to be more common- been a minute since I rewatched those movies~
Honestly I barely remember- a lot has happened since then. But my main fandom is Yu-Gi-Oh ^^

Cool 🙂 and what are you RPing about these days? Yu-Gi-Oh still? I mainly watched the first season of that show. I liked it! But I prefer to collect cards and play the game in rl 😁

Hi all! I’m new to this site so please be patient and figure out how to navigate this forum and it’s rules.

Female, late 20s. I started RPing over a decade ago on The-N and the branches of independent .webs.com sites that diehards made once the site rebranded. It was very casual but I used to spend hours doing it. I had a consistent RP partner who I wrote with for well over 6 years before she disappeared on me (Cierra, I miss you!). She actually sent me this site in one of our last messages.

Anyway, I would love to get back into it. I have a game that I LOVED that I still think about to this day with my old partner and want to do something similar, if not the same.

I’m used to modern/realistic and casual settings with heterosexual romance (and it’s inherent drama) being the real theme, using pictures for characters, writing in third person, and playing one female and one male to my partner’s female and male characters, although I’d be open to just playing females.

I may be out of my depth here but looking for someone of similar age and high writing ability to play with! I can send examples of old games via DM/PM, if you’d like to reach out to me.

And if any of you are from The-N/All The RPGS/RPGing for Nerds/ect, for the LOVE OF GOD, reach out!!!

i am open to most kinds of roleplay including some fandom stuff (no anime please). some settings i particularly like are high fantasy, modern fantasy, and roleplay set within the fallout universe.

i dont bite. i am weird, though.

I have been roleplaying since 12, over multiple different platforms but discord has been my favorite, however interactions have been low and have found this forum! My current special interest is Hotline Miami! I'm incredibly excited to meet new people and get to writing!

Hi! Just call me Gadg-eight-eer. I was born in the early 90s and my author avatar is a reflection of how I just sort of stopped caring about my physical age shortly before I turned 11. I've been roleplaying since the late 00s but it seems even sites from as recent as 7 years ago are no longer around. I've been busy in that time with everything from writing a never-completed novel about alternate timelines, to a total mental breakdown, to trips to South America to visit relatives, to publishing a book of short stories, to moving ~1000 km from my hometown of 25 years since then. I'm asexual so I'm glad this place has rules against sexual roleplay; it would be a pain having to restrict that kind of thing myself.

My favorite pieces of media are Pokémon, Codename: Kids Next Door, Animal Crossing, Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2, the newer (post-San Andreas) Grand Theft Auto games, Spore, Inception, Nobilis (well, the 3rd Edition anyway), Starbound, Splatoon, American Truck Simulator, the No Game No Life anime (as horribly riddled with Isekai clichés as it is), Glitch Techs and Star Citizen. Now would probably be a good time to mention I consume a lot of fiction and keep relatively close tabs on what I've seen going back over a decade.

Fair warning, I can't stand seeing children die in works of fiction, even RPs. This includes large numbers of people dying (say, a small city or large airliner) that is broad enough that one or more children not being among the dead would be inconceivable in real life. I'll give a pass for backstories as long as it's not a horrifying gorefest, but it will not be allowed over the progression of any of my RPs and I will be leaving any RP where it happens and the creator decides to allow it.

Aside from that, access to at least clockwork technology is something I look for in an RP setting, and I have a particular interest in "Y2K Aesthetic". Any level of magic is fine, but I prefer when said magic is either on-par with the capabilities of technology, or can be easily combined with the inferior technology to create hybrid mechanisms that make magic's superiority more palatable. Keep in mind that I mean either "swords and sorcery" magic, "Harry Potter" style magic, or Eastern Mysticism style magic like chi energy; Things like superheroes, ghosts, psychics/psionics, and angels and demons just seem to mesh better with my perceptions of tech than wizards or gurus.

Despite all this, I respect the intent of an RP. If I like your setting, I'll ask questions to be sure whether my character can fit into it without feeling shoehorned, but I try to have enough sense to not ask for any changes to be made to the setting on my behalf, and I am willing to modify the "baseline" interpretation of my character to fit your world better.

Sorry for the wall of text! I hope I can have fun in this community without running into any conflicts, and will do my best not to be the start of an argument.
