Hey so quick question for y'all! What games (any console or system) do you consider to be overrated or over hyped? What games have you played that you had high expectations for only to be dissapointed upon playing it? I'm curious as to what y'all have to say so please! Share your thoughts and reasons.

And ABSOLUTELY NO ARGUING OR FIGHTING, IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR BELIEFS ON A GAME THEN YOU RESPECT IT AND MOVE ON. YOU CAN PASSIVELY DEFEND YOUR BELEIFS BUT THAT IS IT. PLEASE RESPECT EACHOTHERS OPINIONS, WERE HERE TO SHARE OUR THOUGHTS, NOT OUR FISTS.

Final Fantasy XV.

I absolutely love Final Fantasy, but I was highly disappointed in XV. I couldn't get past the tutorial. I did watch my husband play, and something about it, I just didn't like. I really wanted to like it, and I might give it another chance one day, but my first impression wasn't good.

I get ya, I was the same with the new Star Wars battlefront, something about it just lacks what the classics had, aside from the shite that is its offline mode

Never really got the hype behind Pump It Up... it's just DDR but more confusing ;w;

Also, Pokemon. I've never played Pokemon and it doesn't appeal to me at all. Not sure why, just isn't my thing I suppose.

I don't know what DDR is but I do enjoy Pokémon, though I know there are those that don't which is totally fine. I can understand why the appeal isn't there for others.

I would never understand some of the hype for call of duty or some big shooter. I mean I did play call of duty with my big brother a while back but...I don't understand the hype.

PUBG got crazy hype, but it was just a free-for-all with not much content from what I can tell. Streamers play the hell out of it though, I guess it must be fun to watch?

I don't even like watching it ^^" haha but I know some people like it so to each their own

I mean, I don't think Overwatch had enough content for all the hype.

  • Pokemon mystery dungeon
  • terraria: OKAY OKAY the 3ds version. Those controls were clunky af. Never played it on PC.
  • Harvest Moon 3: Boy and Girl. God, I hated this game so much.
  • Starbound. It was okay for 30ish hours, it got stale, I've never touched it since.
  • Sims 4: It's a reskinned Sims 2 with more lag and nonsense.
  • Undertale: Liked it, don't understand being obsessed with it.
  • Harvest Moon: Skytree Village (At this point the HM team broke away to do Story of Seasons. This game's mutation mechanic was cool but.. not cool enough to cover up the awful dialogue and forgettable story.)
  • Harvest Moon: Light of Hope (Get Story of Seasons Trio of Towns on 3ds or Stardew Valley on PC instead. Light of Hope is absolute garbage.) Somehow it's getting good reviews?

That's quite the list! I only ever played terraria on my 360 with my younger brothers, we constantly planned for boss battles and terraformed the land for the occasion ^^"

When FNAF first came out, I remember being so scared because I had a really bad fear of humanoid robots back then.

Then the jumpscares got old, the fanbase grew cancerous, the game became a cash cow franchise, and stupid theories started getting formed.

Well Scott (the creator) had started the series with a story in mind, as the games progressed he merely added on to it. The fan base can get bad yes but isn't that true for all fan bases? The Game theorist did a video on FNAF and Scott himself said that he was actually really really close to being 100% correct with the game lore

For me, it's sports games like Madden or Fifa, or racing games like Need for Speed, etc. I never saw the appeal of those games. There's no storyline, no character development, yet many of my friends are entertained by it for hours. I understand its fun to play with friends sometimes, but a new one comes out nearly every year and its a huge deal even though literally nothing ever changes but the players. Awesome graphics though
