Food Dipping Fries in Shakes - Yes or No?

Fries into a Wendy's Frosty sounds weird but actually is pretty decent. It's a salty sweet combination. I wouldn't buy a shake and fries just for that, but I won't be "ew" to anyone who does it.

Fries and Chocolate syrup sounds disgusting though. Chocolate Syrup is too strong for that.

I'd recommend to try using sugar instead of salt on your chips (by which I mean them there french fries), just for a change. Maybe with butter, although I'm not a fan of butter. Either way, it's really nice. Adding sugar on top of salted chips is not so great though. Maybe that's why a lot of people don't like the idea of using sweet things as dips, if they're already pretty salted.

Guess it's like Yorkshire puddings: you can have them with your savoury meal, then have the leftover ones with ice cream and syrup instead.

...Custard with chips is great though.

I agree on chocolate syrup being too strong. Then again I don't like ketchup, even that's too overpowering. Usually I just go for salt or lemon juice.

Go forth and eat your chips in new and exciting ways!

I never thought to add sugar to chips! Really wanna try this now (having lunch thoughts x3)

I also thought I was the only one who had Yorkies as a pudding xD my family always thought it was weird. I could live of them with gravy/ice cream.

HOW CAN YOU DISGRACE THE TWO GLORIOUS CONSUMPTION PRODUCTS BY MIXING THEM?

HOW DARE YOU CREATE SOME... SOME DISGUSTING HALF-BREED RACE OF FOOD!

Not gonna lie, I used to be guilty of doing this. I suppose the taste of soggy, sweet potato was awesome, for some reason? Mixed with the salt, it did make for an interesting flavour...

So I've heard a ton of people talk about how fries dipped in milkshakes is supposed to be really good. This isn't the kind of thing I typically do, as I'm a really picky eater and mixing things like that that don't usually go together always sounds wrong to me. But I've heard of much worse things than that by a long shot, so the other day when I was eating out I figured, "Oh what the heck," and got fries and a shake. I sat down with them, took a fry and dipped it in my shake, and popped it into my mouth, ready to find out what people were talking about.

And I don't get it. I don't get it at all.

I mean, it was fine at best. It wasn't gross or anything, at least not for me, but it didn't strike me as anything special. I remain of the opinion that fries are best with ketchup, or in the case of McDonald's fries, all by themselves.

So what do you think? Am I alone in this, or are there lots of other people that feel the same. Fries dipped in shakes - greatest thing ever or quite overrated?

I had milkshakes so no. But chips (fries) and ice cream are gudddddd

...that's nasty.

i like milkshakes, and i love fries, but... just no. mixing the two would ruin both of them for me. that being said, i only ever have fries with salt, adding anything to them takes away from how good they are.

meh, i never got combining salty and sweet, it has always majorly grossed me out.

...i'm not sure why you mentioned me, i have nothing against milkshakes. they're not my first choice, but the mint ones are great.

I didn't get the hype until I tried it. It's not "OMG WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE!" But it's alright. now the real deal is taking Wendy's spicy nuggets and dipping it in a frosty. It's weird yet addicting.

I'm right next door in Texas, so you can imagine the distraught look on my face in the drive-thru line. The betrayal,
