Rodney & Zylon
Rod and Zy.jpg
"Mom always did say I'm not as loud as a teenage girl should be." Zylon replied to Mr. Macson with a tired stretch before she glanced to her large friend "Yeah, Rod here has like, connections or something I guess. I'd be surprised too but he's practically the numero uno socialitie in this school."

"Yay! I get to talk with me other friends to help new friends!" Rodney hopped from one foot to the other before standing straight and jerking a thumb towards himself "No fretting for any of yah, pallies! I'll get us a location licked split!"

Zylon turned to their other two teammates as her own partner waltzed out of the class whilst swallowing his latest meal and clapping his hands together to clean them, she gave them a quick evaluating look before jogging to catch up with her teammate outside "Oi, pick me up big guy. Ain't planning on walking around while you work that chat-magic."

Rodney shrugged, grabbing his weapon by the waist and tossing her over his shoulder like a bag of flour. She rolled her eyes at the position before promptly falling asleep, and Rodney gestured for his new friends to follow before taking off to begin the search.

Turns out Rodney's connections were not to be underestimated, not only did every student they came across seem genuinely pleased to see him but they were more than willing to offer any information they could pertaining to the whereabouts of their quarry. With big smiles they'd tried to answer any of the big guy's questions, unperturbed entirely by the gaggle of students or his unyielding positivity which grew in quantity every time they neared one of his friends, and even waved goodbye to them when the group moved on.

It had only taken asking three students before one pointed them towards the Library, where the student in question had told them that she'd had to drag her study partner out of there due to a sudden intense nose-bleed which rendered him unconscious. Rodney had been initially worried when hearing this, but that worry all but evaporated when she'd told them that it was caused by one of their targets simply being quote 'Too Ecchi.'

This had left Zylon mockingly laughing the entire way to the library, occasionally wiping a humored tear from her eyes. Halfway there she'd slid off the big guy's shoulder and walked beside him as they drew closer to their targets "With how much she says he was bleeding, I'm surprised there was no blood trail we could follow all the way to these two. Can't believe the dude couldn't handle seeing a bouncy chest."

"Aw come now, Zy-Zy," Rodney said as he nommed on a plate of ribs, the entirety of which he'd seemed to pull from nowhere during their questioning "we need to think about his side o' the story! Maybe he's from a conservative lifestyle, where lassies gots to cover themselves up some more."

"If that's the case then why the hell would he be in this school?" the DJ yawned as the door to the Library came within view "All an opponent would need is a big pair o' nips to take him out, and you and I know that some of these things we kill can get pretty ridiculous in terms of proportions."

"And that's why he'll need the support of his friends to help when that time comes!"
Rodney said enthusiastically before stopping at the doors to the library and turning to his classmates "Here we are! according to the words of me friends those two skippers are still monkeyin' about in there."

"I'm sure we're all impressed on some level, big guy."
Zylon leaned against him casually, "Can we just get on with this? Me and library's really don't mix well."

As Kensei walked out of the classroom, his mind was clouded with multiple thoughts as he was thinking about everything. While his classmates are very interesting and cool but this assignment was absolutely stupid as in his opinon and the reason why. First reason was Mina and him are friends, two was him and Kasper are friends but he was annoying as hell and finally three he hates watching Tazmuir Fights cause Taz makes fights look too much fun which he then joins in.....never ends well.

Suddenly he heard a soft voice and turned his head to see Winter, he raised an eyebrow before he heard her ask why he seemed angry. he let out a small giggle which exploded to a full on laugh as his slightly frowning face was transformed to his the usual grin that was always on it. He replied to Winter then said "I'm not mad. Just i got to go to work and i don't want to do any assignments right now." Finishing what he said before he patting her head before moving her hair out of the way of her eyes so Kensei could look right at her and asked "Why do you follow me? I don't mind but i'm just wondering" he moved his hand away before he went on his way to the dorm he had so he could change.

Winter followed him "cause um.......your the first person to show me any kindness in a very long time, and it's been over two years sense anyone even said anything nice to me all they do is call me freak, street rat, monster and so on" she muttered quietly not wanting him to hear the last part.

As she walked beside him her hands curled into fists as she remembered many people calling her names and some even beating her to within an inch of her life.

Now to say the least the performance blazed in front of her wasn't expected in the least. The great Steins Grand Child had just exploded like a pack of TnT lit ablaze. It was both strange, confusing, and unpredictable. She began to think what had happened to have her react in such a way, and, what exactly, had triggered such a rigid response from someone as controlled and contempt as her? It couldn't be the fact that it could be something within a set of just a few words? It made no sense.

Or was it one of the words stated by her father? Had he said something wrong? Had her father mentioned something he shouldn't have? Kiara began to think back to any words spoken by her father at the time. But the only thing that stuck out to her was the location of which held the sentence in context. France. But what was so bad about France? Why had she reacted in such a way, if that WAS the reason for her un-well being?

Kiara ran her mind back to a memory of hearing a rumor, a rumor that told of Steins so called brother, who was held in France. Was that why? Had something happened between them to have her react in such a dramatic way? Was Kiara just overthinking everything? Or was she thinking too little?

Kiara was suddenly shocked back to reality as her father spoke, and she nodded, leaving the Death Room amongst his orders. She scavenged the hallways, looking for the person she had been directed to, though it didn't take too long, but what she found, well, shocked her, more or less.

Stein was unconscious, on the ground. Kiara raised an eyebrow, kicking her side softly. "Hey, Stein, wake up." After no response, she leaned down, "Are you seriously unconscious?" She sighed, and leaned against the wall, lowering her body till her bottom touched the ground, and she hugged her knees, waiting for the girl to regain her sense of reality, and awaken from her nightless slumber.

Maya Devereux

Sakura.Saber.600.2072528.jpg
Location : In front of the Library
Mood : Spacey, Depressed
Interaction : Rodney, Zylon, Conor

Maya had been trailing silently along behind the group. The couple, weapon and meister partners, had not stopped talking since they'd began this little adventure. Maya didn't mind it and the hum of their voices filled the silence, meaning she wouldn't have to actually speak. The sound of others talking tended to lull Maya into a sense of calm, especially when she tuned them out. Things continued to move around her even if she was usually lost in her thoughts, somewhere else. And sometimes it was the only thing that kept her anchored. Frankly, it was pretty lonesome. And... it made her sad. But some things couldn't be helped and with the way things were going, how they always went, and continued to go, she had no reason to change herself and no idea how to even start.

A few words caught her attention, something about... Ecchi? And the female body? Which caused Maya's face to steam and for her to forcefully bury herself deeper in what thoughts she had already submerged herself in. All she knew is that she didn't want to be apart of that conversation. How could they talk so freely amongst themselves about such things? It must mean they were comfortable with each other. In the past, Maya had once wished for a partner she could have such a level of comfort with, not that they'd spend their time talking about nosebleeds and nipples, but to look and someone, to speak, and feel the tension evaporate. To know that you could probably say just about anything to that person and know they wouldn't walk away from you... Wishful thinking.

When Maya looked up again, she saw they were standing in front of the library. Her gaze darted from the dynamic duo, to Conor, and then back to the door again. She was waiting for them to open the door. Never had she been one to take the lead or make the first move, albeit a few times in battle, and now was not the day she'd start. Besides this was not her battle. And frankly, knowing her, she'd probably space out. Maya tried to convince herself it was because she didn't care about people but the truth was it was harder for her to connect to others.

Morgenstern Stein
d6a8e3294fba4bad77a30e0bba17afdc.gif

Morgenstern remained unconscious for the duration of Kiara's discovering of her. The usually stone-cold female had metaphorically turned into an actual stone, simply laying there, taking up space and doing nothing.

As Kiara slid down to sit near her, Morgenstern's unconscious senses began to function, giving her brain and body more energy as it slowly powered her up again.

Suddenly, as if on autopilot, Morgenstern's eyes snapped open and she sat up. One hand went to cover her abdomen, an area that had always been a sensitive area if hit in the right spot, the other helping launch her up. Spinning, she crouched into a position ready for attack, her duster settling around her.

Her bright green orbs were murderous, instincts driving her to prepare for a battle. She stared Kiara down, her body language emitting one of primal nature and savagery as the madness momentarily burst within her.

Settling down, Morgenstern's gaze relaxed and she did as well as she realized that it was indeed a peer of hers near her, posing no threat to her in any way.

Standing, she dusted herself off and pulled her dress down, the bottom getting lower and the relatively deep V shaped neckline did as well. It revealed just the slightest bit of cleavage while retaining modesty. If one deliberated for long enough, they would realize that she was dressed in such a manner, wearing such a sexual and short silver garment, because she was clearly thinking of plans with someone special.

She sighed. Slowly, she made her way to a nearby hall mirror. Reaching up, she tied her hair back and pinned it once more with the thorn-like hair pin, cocking it greatly towards the right side.

She gazed at her own reflection in the mirror, thinking of herself. She thought of her brother, of if he'd want to see her again. If he'd accept her with open arms, or with a blade. She thought of the accident.

Slowly, she reached back up and touched high on her right cheek with a gentle hand resting gingerly on the porcelain skin. Flattening it, she wiped it across the right side of her face, revealing a scar that ran across her gorgeous eye from the base of her left forehead to the top of her left cheekbone.

She stood there for a second. Then she straightened out. Turning without a word, she marched back into the Death Room, a new air of seemingly confidence about her as she did, possibly brought on by the scar.

"I'll do it" she said to Lord Symmetry.
"I'll go to France. The needs of DWMA and its related affiliates are more than those of my own."

She stared directly at his face, determined. But she was still a bit hesitant, that was true. It could be seen faintly over her features. She went to speak, but was cut off by her thoughts.

Lord Symmetry...the reason why so many things had been done. The reason she was in this position. Why she had forced her brother away to keep him safe and away from the monster that she was. It had been her fault. She pressured him into going after the gang that killed her father. All her fault it went downhill.

Staring at the shinigami, she saw a flash of red as her mind consumed her. She was transported back to that moment. She saw the blade impale her brother's abdomen. Heard the agonizing screams that came from both his mouth and hers upon having to watch it. And she felt the pain of each blow they took at her. The impact of punches. The burn of a hot blade pressing against her fair skin, dragged down her thighs. And the agony of a dagger slicing her once perfect face.

As the physical pain came back, she felt it physically. Quickly bracing herself on a nearby piece of furniture, the let out an agonized gasp. Trying to clear her mind, she made a hand motion for him to forget about her.

"Just...hurry up...and brief us"
she breathed, speaking through gritted teeth."It's the memories...They give back physical pain. And it's...very...painful."

That was definitely not the reaction Kiara had expected from the peer student of hers, dressed in a contempt but yet Sexually arousing styled set of clothing strapped onto the manor of the pale skinned young woman. With her hand gripped to her side like she was protecting something horribly precious, she landed with her feet on the ground, a murderous look in her eyes, and god Kiara was about to hit her. So, so, so hard. Maybe out of instinct, or out of anger after she'd gone out of her way to try to help her, and her payment for being a kind soul was an attack to her well being? She would have, should have attacked. But then again she'd but none the wiser.

After the girl had seemingly gained her britches once more, she dusted herself off, acting as if she hadn't just threatened the Daughter of Death. And then, she went and . . . fixed herself up? God what was with her? Was she taking Kiara for some kind of fool? Like a Joke? She was the child of a God, she was not one to be taken lightly, and not one to have patience. But, for the sake of not destroying the area they were in, and for the sake of not angering or shifting the mood of her symmetrically content father, she brushed all of the worries off, acting as if nothing had happened.

Kiara opened her mouth, about to ask if she was okay, but was met by the sound of the girl's foot steps echoing down the hallways. She gritted her teeth, shaking her head. "I swear to Death, if she's going to be the difficult, father I don't think we'd come out alive." She muttered to herself, so silent so only the dark haired female could hear. She didn't need anyone else going on and hearing her mild bickering, they'd think she was more insane than she actually was.

Kiara turned to walk off, only to catch her own eye in the reflective mirror to her left. She slowly turned, looking at her own body, as she bit her lip. She didn't like how she looked, one bit. No, it wasn't anything wrong with her or her mental traits, she just, hated how she was compared to the other girls. Yes, she knew it was a horribly over used cliche that had been played over so many times you could memorize the lore of it with a simple glance, but she couldn't help it. She was . . . Different. The other girls had soft, fair skin, she had pale cold skin. Her eyes didn't twinkle like the others, in fact, if you looked at them too long, it's said that you'd be sent into an infinite limbo. Her hair is, well, to say the least a complete and utter mess. In the end, she was, to say the least . . .

A Monster.

She had never shared this information with anyone else in her life, not her father, her friends, her sparing partners. No one, not a single person had ever known of these thoughts of hers, and again, no one ever will. Kiara shook herself back into reality, and coughed, gritting her teeth. "Come on Goddess in training, stop getting caught up over trivial objects." She lifted her hand, as a dark violet covered thunder tinted line connected to a part of skulls ran out, forming together to make, you guessed it, her father skate board. Or, well, a copy of it. She didn't like to use it too many times a day, but she had lost all regard for practically everything by now, so sadly, she lost to will to care.

With a blast, and a puff of air, she soared through the halls, stopping in time outside of the Death Room to hear the voice of Stein, just in time to hear her speak of . . . Her pain? What on earth was she talking about?"

Lord Symmetry

Two things happened after Stein had spoken of her request. The first was the headmaster rising from his seat, moving over to her, and gently helping her into the cushions of the arm chair she was using to keep herself steady. The second was Symmetry pausing for only a second and turning his attention towards the partially open door.

"It's not polite to eavesdrop Kiara." Her father warned in a low mutter, but his tone was anything but angered. It was actually quite gentle in how he had said it.

Turning his attention back to Stein and taking a seat across from her in another chair instead of the one behind his desk, Lord Symmetry studied Stein for several seconds before saying one thing and one thing alone: "Are you sure about this, Morgen?"

That one sentence said it all. Morgen's determination was admirable, but Lord Symmetry had no reason to send someone in such a feeble state on a remedial mission where their chances of survival were 0-10 out of a 100. Before the briefing could begin, the headmaster needed a reason. Proof, that Stein was capable. Because if memories or sudden induced attacks were likely to stop her from being fully alert when her mission began, then Symmetry would simply have to postpone her remedial class to another time till she was more capable and have Second go to France on her own.

"Kiara" the deity stated calmly, his own two eyes never leaving Morgen's own state, whether out of caution for her sake or to test her was difficult to say. "Come inside please. It's impolite to be outside like that when I know you are out there."

Kensei looked down at the small she-wolf, he let out a laugh that probably knocked Winter right out of her daze. He then said "Hey, i want you to look at something." He drew her attention to his fists, he tucked up his sleeves before he put his arms out. She would watch him as he slowly started clench his hands before massive veins and bugles on forearms appear as he made a fist. Winter could see the muscular details of his arms but as he stopped making a fist and he showed her the palms of his hands, the massive scars and callous which covered every single piece of skin that was attached to his palms. Kensei smiled and said "I'm strong cause i wanted to prove those that looked down on me wrong. I've been called a wild animal, freak of pure nature, a demon with the wrong soul and a Mad Dog meant to be put down." he moved his hands to her wrist before he made her hands relax as he let her feel his palms as he continued. "I care for my fellow classmates but i look after my own kind, the most especially if they're a sexy/cute girl like you, Miss Winter." Kensei then had a cheerful grin on his face before he pet her on the top of her head as he then went on his way.

Soon winter went to the cafeteria to get some lunch as her stomach was hurting from not eating all day long.

Dr.Macson

Location: Faculty & Staff Room F5

Since the lunch bell had rang, several minutes plus had gone by bordering to sixteen minutes past 12. And while all that time had been spent, Dr. Macson had spent the time in his own office room, back on the fifth floor reviewing an array of files and documents laid out on his own desk. Each one a student he'd eventually come to know in their future classes and missions or if by chance already knew little of.

Been here for almost a year and then some now and there's still nothing knew on these four? A loud, exhale from both nostrils issued the doctor's current vexed state of mind as his cushioned seat creaked with the rest of his weight. As Macson leaned back, his eyes remained fixed on the four files before him. Sprawled and open from left-to-right, the first picture that came up was a female, green hair, bright eyes and gave off the vibe that she really didn't want to be in this exact place at this exact time; Zylon Kindleton's image laid right next to her file, and with that an alarming amount of little information. Since the year started only a month or so ago, Macson had heard word from previous professor's that the girl was like a rock. It took effort to get her motivated and he'd seen that today for himself since the first day of their class.

Which was exactly why he'd chose her and her partner, Rodney Quinless to be a part of this 'mission'. They needed to be more active, and given the people he'd chosen, so long as things went how he'd predicted and planned they would be getting busy...very soon indeed.

The sound of ticking caused Macson's bright green eyes to shift over to the door. It was getting close to 12:20, and his guests seemed to be running a bit late. It was just as well, the doctor found he had a bit more investigation to do on these students anyway.

Especially since he needed to start preparing these children for teamwork and co-operation. But most importantly, how to survive as a unit.

Glancing through the files on his desk,, from Zy, to Morgenstern, to Taz, to Dark☆Star, with each student Dr. Macson observed on his desk, the more or less he saw on that student's background and general information. Tazmuir and Zylon's being below average bordering on scant to almost nothing, Dark☆Star and Morgenstern's providing enough information that the doctor knew they'd be tough cases to handle in the future. A second ticked by just as a hand went to the wireless mouse of his holocap. One or two clicks opened up the terminal and three more pulled out several more files while a password unlocked all hidden information of several different students, each file attached with a different picture of the student it referenced; a majority of which were all not from the same class collectively. Heck even those that were knew very little of each other. And because Macson had not seen Second or Stein today, due to their appointments with Lord Symmetry, they would have to be dealt with another time.

One thing was for sure if today's classroom events had proven anything, it was clear that in the two months that had gone by since DWMA had re-opened for its second year, none of his students knew much or anything about one another since graduating to their current divisions. And if one month and a good portion of another had gone by with many of them taking little familiarity of the other, than it was guaranteed that the staff would need to push not just Conor, Mina, and the others towards cohesion but apply the same to their other students as well.

Shaking his head and looking through the files for a few more minutes Dr. Macson merely exhaled loudly before shutting everything off and sorting each file back into his desk.

Depending on how everything ends with that task, we'll need to be thorough when we pick out those teams. The doctor's eyes drew their attention to a window as he took a sip of coffee from his mug. "I just hope they're prepared for what lies ahead."

Morgenstern Stein
d6a8e3294fba4bad77a30e0bba17afdc.gif

Morgenstern, upon being helped into the chair, crossed her legs. She crossed her legs and entwined her fingers together, resting them upon her knee. She stared at her lengthy nails, which had a simple French tip design on its glossy surface. She spoke no words, and was silent for a few minutes until she did.

Slowly, she glanced up at Lord Symmetry. Her shining green eyes seemed innocent, yet pleading all at the same time.
"Yes, sir," she said. "I'm absolutely sure that I can handle this mission."

She paused for a moment, staring past him at the wall, not even blinkin. It was if she was in a trance, "I've come to realize that I need to face my problems, not run away from them. My duties to DWMA come before my personal issues. I need to be strong."

She released a gentle sigh and closed her eyes, the green orbs being covered by pale eyelids. "When we were children, Ares and I were the best of friends. I wouldn't have dreamed that we would end up like this."

Her hands were shaking. She had not yet told Lord Symmetry what had happened that night. At least, not the truth. She'd told him that they'd been attacked by wild dogs while out for a night in town.

Her voice was lofty, seeming as if she wasn't completely there. That she was talking to herself.
"But when we were younger, I thought I was the best because of my grandfather's training. I seemed to believe that I was invincible, as was Ares. But one night, I convinced him to sneak off on a mission alone. We were taken by surprise. A group of lackeys dragged us to an abandoned cabin. They...They tortured us. They stabbed Ares, burnt me, and tried to take away my sight. And I...I killed them. " She brought a gentle hand to her scar once again. "I should have listened to him, but I didn't. I oressured him. And because of my stupidity, my older brother almost lost his life."

She shook her head. When she spoke again, her voice was more firm, confident."My point is that I have to do this. My brother risked everything for me that night. His safety, comfort, everything he wanted in life. He abandoned his fear for me. What kind of sister, or even human being, would I be if I wasn't willing to do the same?"

She looked up to the Shinigami, her strength renewed. She was ready.
"I have to do this. I may never be fully at peace if I don't. Besides. If I go to France, and I see Ares, maybe I can make things right. And if I don't, then I still have DWMA, and my whole life, to fix things. Please."

"I'm ready. Let me at least try."

1000

The real battle had begun...

The Twins floated above the city, casting an ominous, effortless shadow. Just a few moments ago, the world was home to only one Kishin. Now, it housed three. There was a silence between the demonic gladiators of this city-scape arena. The other Kishin was a lithe, black beast coated in a fine fur with glowing red eyes. He exerted his own Madness. An aura of raw rage and fury radiated from around him. But those two up their? The twins? They were Anxiety and Despair. The three wavelengths together were enough to shatter the psyches of the city that their previous blows didn't already shatter.

While these monsters battled it out, senseless rioting in the streets lead to gutters of blood and streets afire. This was the end of days. This was the fate a world with three Kishin would know. The silence that existed was only between them. The rest of the city was screaming.

Then it broke. The silence. The Twins launched hundreds of not thousands of tendrils at the Kishin below them, but he was far too fast. Crimson blurs darted around the shattered streets. Blacktop and cars were torn asunder once the tendrils rooted themselves in the ground. Their impacts sent out shockwaves that toppled weakened buildings and set off alarms from blocks around--and these shockwaves kept coming one after another. There was no end.

The male Kishin darted his way up the length of the tendrils, rushing madly at the Twins in their floating, stationary position. Their merged body was more akin to a statue than it was an organic being. Dozens of times over, the arms of the Twins launched out tendrils at the male Kishin, but he continued to ascend the tendrils left behind, leaping from one to another as they detached themselves from the ground and began to retract.

The glow from his red eyes grew brighter and brighter before suddenly, it vanished. He was no longer trailing up the body of the twins. He was in range. In the next moment, he reappeared at the main body of the twins and slashed his long claw at their heads with the sheer intention of decapitating them. But the twins? After twenty some-odd years of their bodies being merged together into a single monstrosity, they split apart. Each attached to the other with a long, thin cord at their umbilicus, but still apart.

While the twins dodged the fatal attack, they were still on edge. Shattered were the stone bindings around them, revealing their sleek, black forms. Poised to strike or react at any moment, they both waited for the Kishin to make his attack. This was the new world. A world of demons and hellfire.

His eyes shot open. He couldn't recall the last time they were physically open, but that didn't matter. It took him a while to reorient himself to reality. His light brown eyes darted around the room. Towers full of books and shelves surrounded him. The dozens of stair steps around him were ironic given his wheelchair, but that was beside the point. He just saw a vision unlike any other before it. Raw power. Madness. Violence.

He remembered seeing Asura. He remembered how Lord Death reacted when he relayed the vision to the Shinigami. Now? Now he had to deal with Lord Symmetry. Now, it wasn't just one Kishin, but three. Sure, each seemed weaker than Asura, but that did not quell the fact three existed. In his vision. Worse? He only knew context information. The Twins. Despair. Anxiety. The Red Devil of anger. What was it all? He didn't know any of those faces and he knew most of the recent DWMA.

Daisensei was left with dozens of questions, but one thing was for certain. He needed to contact Lord Symmetry. All things considered, he wheeled himself to the center of the room. His massive library. A prison of books, if one would. Inside its center was a mirror trimmed by gold. Not unlike the one Lord Death used to keep in his office. Daisensei let out a slight sigh before he dialed the number to the Shinigami office. The only number he could reach, actually.

Oh, what a way to meet the new Lord of Death...

Lord Symmetry & Death the Kid II

Kiara momentarily froze, caught off guard by her father's voice. Of course he would know she was there, he was always aware of what went on. Wasting not a moment and allowing her own curiosity to get the better of her at what she'd managed to catch, Kiara re-entered the death room and shut the door behind her before moving towards her father's and Stein's destination. Once she was near enough, her father held up a hand for her to stop, and as always she complied without resistance; placing two hands behind her back and eyeing the girl that had so uncouthly attempted to attack her. Whatever troubled Stein was something she wanted to find out, at the very least to see if it justified her very peculiar reason for attempting to assault a deit

Both members of the Shinigami family remained silent and patient. Both listened to Stein assert her conviction. Of the several seconds that went by in complete silence, Lord Symmetry kept his eyes firmly fixed on Morgenstern and said nothing. The atmosphere had changed. Then all of a sudden, Lord Symmetry's eyes broke contact with Stein's and moved over to his daughter.

Taking in a small breathe of air, the headmaster leaned back into his seat, leg draping itself atop another, arms resting on either arm side of his arm rest. One more gratingly loud tick from the clock behind the desk, and Lord Symmetry made one response.

"Alright." He stated with a light smile. "I'll allow you to go; Your grades, skills, and abilities excel enough that I don't believe I will need to worry too much, but if there is any moment in a situation where you have a feeling that you cannot handle it, do not attempt to proceed due to arrogance and conceit, understood?" It, really wasn't a question. It was a statement.

Regardless, rhetorical or not, Kiara responded with a simple nod of her head and only the smallest of smiles.

"Excellent," Symmetry stated. "Now then, relating to where you two will rendezvous with your partners--"

BRRRRRNNG!

The sound was sudden, unexpected, and just as abruptly as it had emerged so was its presence in cutting the headmaster off from the remainder of his briefing. At the very back, on the farthest wall south- the borders around a wall shifted and flowed, waving and shaking like the gentle current one would find on the beach. And as the wall shifted, as the wall trembled in successive timing with every tick of the clock that hanged on it- something began to emerge. And that thing, was nothing but a mirror. A two way mirror used for formal communication and interaction between the headmaster and his students.

The only problem was he hadn't had use for that mirror since the year began. And as far as he knew, there was no new notification that he needed filling in on. So that just made the question even more intriguing, who was this?

"Ahem, excuse me. Kiara, Stein, please wait here. This will only take a moment." And after offering his seat to his daughter and adjusting his cravat- Lord Symmetry moved towards the very back of the spacious room's southern wall, completely ignoring the loud ringing that now imposed itself upon the entire room.

Long strides past his desk, down two gray linoleum steps, and nothing more than a few steps towards the call and stopping about several inches away from the now fully present mirror Lord Symmetry gently clapped both his hands together and the fluctuating wall stopped immediately, the ringing dying soon with it as his image began to weave through the glass of the mirror on slowly emerge on the side of the caller.

It was only after his image had completely come through that Lord Symmetry's eyes took in whom he was looking at and for the briefest of seconds, they narrowed and looked upon this individual with nothing but mistrust. What exactly this thing wanted with him at this particular time at this particular moment, was beyond him. But whatever it wanted, he may as well give it his attention.

There was no doubt that it may be important, even if he himself didn't trust it as far as he knew he could shoot it.

Adjusting his cravat and keeping his gaze firm yet still stern, Lord Symmetry gave his unexpected guest a simple look over that harbored virtually no real emotion and spoke the following:

"How may I help you?"
Saying this, Lord Symmetry took a step closer- closing an inch's more distance between himself and the mirror. It was an act not meant for his guest, but meant for the two students that certainly weren't meant to be included in this now private conversation. It was his way of completely blocking their vision of the mirror in front of him. Even if the distance between himself and the two was great, that didn't change the fact that the two still had generally good eyesight.

Turning slightly and glancing back over to his desk, Symmetry waved a hand vaguely over the surrounding area as if he were stretching his arm, fingers pointed in where Stein and his daughter presided, the ring upon Symmetry's right ring finger glinted and in a second any words that would now transpire between himself and the caged monstrosity would be nothing but low garbled noise to both students while the very imagery of himself and the wall would appear as if he'd entered another part of a storage to take the call.

With the magical barriers set and his work done, Symmetry returned his attention to his 'guest' allowing his expression to return to its neutral state. "How may I help you?" he repeated, he intoned.

Dansensei

"Your father never introduced us... I'm not even sure if you know I am," Daisensei began. Already, there was an odd sense of familiarity. Of course everyone knew Lord Death, but the way this mortal spoke of him--this man that had purportedly commit atrocities against the DWMA--was as if he were talking about an old friend. Even if Lord Symmetry had no idea whom this man was, his iron mask, enigmatic tone and immediate referral of Lord Death as 'his father' wreaked with the kind of intrigue any man hated.

"Do they call you Death--like him?" Daisensei mused. Despite the serious nature of his call, there was an intrinsic part of him that urged him to toy with the new Shinigami. In part because he knew he could call back. In part because if he was completely ignored, he could spend the next few days sending bits and pieces of his vision to Lord Symmetry anyway--the distance and his restraints only made it more tedious and demanding. But, ultimately, it came down to the sheer fact he rarely interacted with others. It would drive most men insane. Luckily, Daisensei was far past that.

"I always found it ironic," Daisensei continued on in his musings, "that the scythe is the weapon most associate with Death. Did you know he hated scythes? Scythes are terrible weapons. Imbalanced, hefty--they're tools for farming, not fighting. But, that's not why your father hated them. No, he hated them because they weren't symmetrical. A blade on one end, but not the other. Not only that, only a blade on one side. Your father had a sense of Order to him, too. He only ever picked up a weapon when he needed... he must have been so desperate to use Spirit to fight with. Could you imagine it?" It was a rhetorical question. Of course it was.

It also seemed like a waste of time, but it provided something that Lord Symmetry--no, Death the Kid--never got to see. A part of his father. It made absolute sense. His father had the Madness of Order, but it always seemed like he wanted things in balance. Then came this man with a mask telling him that his father shared a similar trait with him: a disdain for those things uneven. A scythe was a prime example. That, however, wasn't the most eerie part of this. It was how this all sounded like an anecdote. How it all circled back to that main, irking sensation that this masked gentlemen was on good terms with Lord Death.

"I should get on with the point, then. I have a vision of the future. I do not know how far, but I know this. The force of this future shook the astral plane so hard that it tore me from the events I was watching and thrust me into battle. The last time that happened, I saw the cracks on your father's mask as you were fighting Asura. So when I tell you what I saw, do not disregard it. I saw a future where two twin Kishin were fighting another. I know their emotions plainly. The twins fed off each other, almost like weapons; anxiety and despair. They were connected, too, but I'm not sure how. The other Kishin seemed far more dangerous. Alone, he forced them to break apart to fight him. He bore reds, black fur and a wavelength of raw rage. His far exceeded theirs."

With his final speech out of the way, he allowed it to sink in for the new Shinigami. It was a harsh idea to take in, especially from someone like himself.

Lord Symmetry

Even the most casual stare and awareness offered, could not hide hide the lack of trust in those golden yellow eyes. From start to finish, Lord Symmetry's eyes never faltered in that standpoint. Those eyes of distrust grew even worse upon the mention of his late father more so than anything else. In the silence of that magical barrier, time was virtually meaningless, yet it still ticked. And after only taking twelve of those calm gentle ticks to reflect upon what had been told, Lord Symmetry's eyes closed- breaking contact for the first time since this...man, had spoken.

For the briefest of seconds, like the blinding flash that comes from being exposed to sunlight after being confined in the dark, Lord Symmetry could not help but furrow his brows in somewhat annoyance at being exposed to another fact that his father had failed to trust him with. There were many things he had wished to discuss with his father after the battle with his--...with Asura, with the Kishin. And many things he'd wished he had said after his father's death. But as time had passed he'd had to move on. And move on he did.

Only to have this man, this entity- Maba herself had once told him little of, show him that not only had he and his father been on lesser terms that he had already been aware of, but this prisoner knew his father better than he- his own son had in their time together.

A tired sigh was uttered and both Lord Symmetry's eyes opened slightly to stare in reproach at the once known student of DWMA lost to time. He knew not who this man had been in the past, nor did it matter right now. What did matter, was attending to this problem. And personal feelings had no place in a situation such as this. "Dai-sensei, correct?" It was not a question, just a confirmation. If Maba's vague description had anything in its description, then perhaps this name belonged to this entity indeed.

"Thank you for relaying this information." The Shinigami responded humbly. "But" his tone slightly shifting to curiosity, "you understand the problem can only be solved if we know whom these future Kishin are or will be. And I suspect since you have no names to offer, then you do not have the information I'd need to hunt them down. Correct?"

Dansensei

Lord Symmetry was a difficult read. In part because Lord Death designed this library prison such that Daisensei could not 'sense' others directly. He could not feel their feelings, read their minds or see shifts in their Soul. No. The mirror only showed them for face value and even then it was limited. There was so much biophotonic energy lost in a mirror. So many mannerisms and shifts that could only honestly be perceived in person. It gave Lord Symmetry the edge... for now.

"You would be correct in that I have no names... but fatally wrong in the thought that there is not sufficient information for you to begin a hunt," Daisensei responded with a very bold choice of words. His demeanor shifted, too. While he was toying with the Shinigami before, in part to pique his interested, now he was debuting his expertise. His intelligence. A mind that had been honed by years beyond those of the Shinigami. Experience that was invaluable to even his father, Lord Death. These were his bargaining chips.

"The future is fickle. It changes the moment I act on what I perceive. That ripple of change ends with me in this prison if you do nothing, plain and simple. Deciding to contact you, the Lord of Death, is the only action I have and obviously I have not chosen to do so in the last... few decades? I don't know. Time escapes me in this place. The point is, when I make my voice heard, you should listen," Daisensei explained. His tone only added an ominous underlying responsibility to his sharp statement earlier.

The air calmed.

"I will tell you what your father did any time he felt what I told him was important," Daisensei continued to elaborate. In his defense, he was the only one that knew what Lord Death actually did in a time like this. Lord Symmetry may be the highest authority in the DWMA and world-renown in the school, but even he had nothing on this man. "In your father's vault in the catacombs above my prison where he kept inventory on the Demon Tools of Eibon lies a set of special helmets. Simple, golden helmets made by Eibon. You will know them when you see them; there are three: one inscribed with a moon, one a star, and one a sun. They protect the minds of anyone whom wears them from telepathic intrusions. Your father would take an individual he trusted with the secret of who I am and what I can do, retrieve those helmets then visit me in this prison beneath those catacombs. He would take off his helmet long enough to touch my hand see what I saw. He always kept another that could utilize the Soul Force in fear he would need to separate us," Daisenei explained.

It was odd. Everything explained in perfect, vivid detail. It was more than the precise details, however. It was the fact this sounded like a system that was used often--or at least often enough to be a system--and it had the exact type of order Lord Death would use. It had a back-up plan for a back-up plan. It seemed entirely like something his father would do. But maybe what spoke to his story the most was that Lord Death offered himself to take the vision. He put himself on the line. That spoke to his character deeply: Lord Death would never endanger another if he could risk himself instead.

"I have chosen not to bother you, new Lord, but it does seem you know who I am. I don't know how. I don't know who told you. What I will tell you is the simple relationship I had with your father. I had visions, I told him those visions and he used them sometimes. Over the years, he began giving me books. You have never been down here, but these walls have two hundred sixty four thousand sixty six books and even I have not the time to read them all. He treated me well, though. And, after a time and many conversations, he let me train students--only those he felt were worth the risk and could withstand the Madness. That is all. I am not asking you to trust me like he did, but I am telling you that it would be unwise to let this go unchecked," Daisensei said. His words had a sense of finality to them.

If there was anything certain, it was this. Daisensei did not respect Lord Symmetry or his rank. At least, not like most others did. In a way, it was like he was treating the Shinigami like a child. In another, there was a definite sense of urgency in his tone.

    《《Death The Kid(2nd)》》
    ☆☆☆☆☆
    Location - Hallway>Deaths Room
Kiara sat upright. Hands clasped, back straight against the armchair her father had revoked to her possession. One leg daintily crossed atop the other, eyes now focused on Morgenstern Stein. Hearing her revelation, summed up two things; One it might've explained the attack that had so suddenly occurred outside these private walls, and two her speech showed a level of dedication to the Academy that not even the goddess herself could say wavered with how the girl spoke. In essence it was admirable and at the same time it seemed to assuage her own aversion towards the meister now that she knew a bit more about her.

Having nothing to say to Stein at the moment, Kiara turned her attention over to her father's direction. She saw him walk forwards, confront the wavering wall that was expelling the mirror in the distance and then by the next blink her father's image began to fade behind a hidden room that opened up like a automatic door for the headmaster to take his talk in private.

Even overhead the desk and despite the distance being no more than perhaps six yards, she couldn't hear a word of what was being said no matter how much she strained her ears. Which could only mean one thing, her father didn't want them to hear anything that was going on. Which bore light even more, that not only were they somewhat intruding on a possibly important meeting that her father was making absolutely certain they didn't hear, that mirage in front of them right now wasn't reality but was in fact a fabricated imitation made of illusion magic.

For a second, Kiara thought that perhaps it would be best to ask Stein to follow her to the Cafeteria so as to give her dad and this guest privacy, but after she considered the factor of the spell her father was currently casting- Kiara thought against it. Instead, she would direct her attention elsewhere- and do the same for Stein as well.

"So..." her eyes turning back to Stein. "Do you prefer Stein or Morgenstern?" The question was a way to close the uncomfortably weird gap that had fixed itself between them since Morgen's little episode. Maybe it didn't matter that much now, but Kiara hadn't completely forgotten that her kindness had been paid back with hostility, and if anything now that she new something about her potential future teammate the best way to let bygones be bygones was to bring about a friendlier mood.

And this was her approach. "You can call me, Kiara or Kid if you want, either works fine." She added, a small smile gracing her lips.

Morgenstern Stein
tumblr_oftiblxieR1tprwhqo1_500.gif

As Lord Symmetry was called away, Morgenstern's eyes followed him, a habit of hers. It was a way of assuring that he would be alright with this newcoming stranger, even though she was absolutely positive that he was. He was a shinigami, a death god, and far more advanced than her. Even if he was not, what the hell would she be able to do to help? If he couldn't hold something, she definitely would not be able to.

She had curled her hand into a fist, bringing it to support her head underneath her chin. She subconsciously lost her mind in her thoughts, only broken from her reverie by Kiara's voice.

"Hm? Oh, my apologies, I seem to have gotten consumed in my thoughts once again, as usual." She chuckled lightly, a hint of embarrassment in her time at being caught so out of it.

"Anyways, to answer your question, I prefer to go by Morgenstern. However, you may call me Morgen or another name of the sorts, should you rather. I'm aware that my name is quite lengthy. Especially my full one."
Releasing a long heave of air through her nostrils, she closed her eyes and allowed the corners of her lips to curl into a smile as she looked towards the ground. "As odd as it may sound, I don't believe I live up to my last name, so I don't typically go by it. Ares is different. Or, he was. But if you want to call me Stein...,be my guest."

She paused for a brief few moments. "Our grandfather was considered the greatest leister to graduate from DWMA, our father created not one, not two, but three death scythes. I have a legacy to live up to, and I haven't yet. I don't deserve to be associated with them."

And with that, she was lifted from her seat by pretty much the air. Doing nothing as little as a faint gasp, she registered the lift before she was being escorted out with Kiara, only thinking "oh, that was odd. He's never like this. At least, I've never seen it. "

She glanced at the file that had earlier come to rest in her hand, she glanced up at the door of Lord Symmetry's door. Silently, she gave a nod, understanding and thanking him, though he could not see.

She turned to Kiara, opening
her eyes and meeting Kiara's with her own. Her next words were some that many would never expect to come from the young woman, but what they did not know was that they came quite often.
"I never got to apologize, Kiara. For what I did in the hallway. I truly am, though it may not seem as such. My readiness to attack you was instinct, a primal action instilled in me after that day, that consumes me when my guard is down and someone unexpected enters the field close to me such as you did. But it was uncalled for. You are a deity, and a comrade of mine. You have never done anything to me that warranted that sort of behavior. As a meister, one from an honorable family, I should learn to control them better. What I did was not honorable in any way, and to simply ignore you after the fact? Shameful. I truly hope that you may learn to forgive me and my actions in time."

She bowed her head, shame visible in every moment that her head was tilted towards their feet.

Looking back up, she offered another slight smile. "If you'd like, a small group of students and I are going out to explore the city tonight. You're welcome to join us." She offered.

"Don't worry, there won't be anything illegal going on. Probably going to catch a late dinner or go shopping, maybe see if there's any movies or something else to see."

With a slight shrug, she continued.

"Not sure if it'll convince you, but you'll be able to see my horrible attempts at flirting. The one thing my charisma sometimes can't do."

She chuckled lightly once again, glancing up to meet her gaze again, kindness showing in her shining green eyes. Perhaps she really did have a heart. She did seem to want to make friends with the young shinigami.

Lord Symmetry, Daisensei, Patty & Liz

If the catacombs of the DWMA weren’t treacherous enough, the sub-level below them was far worse. There were no stone hallways. No torchlit walkways. These were caverns. These predated Death City. These were the last resorts used by the Shinigami--the very bottom of his Soul when tethered to Death City. In these narrow caverns once existed prisons and libraries, but now only held the most well-kept secrets the Shinigami ever kept.

Alone, the trek to the chambers of Daisensei required a half-hour and that was using a map and proper lighting. What the solid underground halls lead to was not a simple door or gate, but instead a large, circular rune at least twelve meters in diameter. All of it inscribed with Calculation Magic. In the very center of the pad was a smooth slate of solid stone, untouched by whatever chisel inscripted the rest of the tablet. The instructions were clear. Step on the smooth center while holding a cube, also designed by Eibon, and the tablet would teleport whomever held the cube to the sealed off chambers even further dug into the Earth’s crust.

A lot of effort was put into keeping Daisensei locked up, but the reality was that almost all of the most dangerous items, objects and individuals Lord Death came across were locked up in a similar way. Each with their own key. Each handed down from Shinigami to Shinigami, from Death to Symmetry.

The teleportation was simple and smooth. A quick, green light illuminated the chambers before immediately bringing Lord Symmetry down to a whole new depth. There was a shift in temperature and air pressure, but aside from that, no major side effects. Inside was the azure-lit chambers of Dansensei. A massive chamber comparable to the base floor of a cathedral. Artificial light brightened the underground area and plants grew in troughs all throughout the chamber. It was quite ordained for a prison. In fact, it appeared nothing like a prison. It was magnificent. No Sistine Chapel, but no Alcatraz, either. Most notably? Thousands of books in perfectly aligned shelves were everywhere.

“I wasn’t sure if you would actually come,” Daisensei said, greeting his new guests.

A tap and another signalled Lord Symmetry taking only but a step forward. Instead of responding to his “host”, the headmaster allowed his eyes to look around. This was his first time. Not through the labyrinth prison that were these underground tombs, but rather this was his first time in this room. And strangely enough, it slightly bothered him.

“Patty”, the Shinigami’s voice called calmly. “Patty”, the Shinigami’s voice called calmly. “Please, don’t touch that.”

The woman in question froze, stick in hand, grin fading as she offered one more jab at the carnivores looking plant that seemed to scowl at her jovial jeers.

“So, tell me again- why exactly do we need these...helmets?” the elder of the two offered, a noticeably protruding object wrapped in nothing but bandages shifted into view.

“Protection”, Symmetry answered simply- then with waiting hand the item was placed in the lord’s palm. Taking it in hand and weighting the object as if it were some peculiar commodity that needed inspection, Lord Symmetry’s eyes carefully scanned the bandages till he found the seal he was looking for. A tetragram wrapped within a circle that ensnared a triangle of several Greek symbols.

Both eyes narrowed, then moved to squint up at the host awaiting in his cozy little room. Why father kept a spell of this degree on an item meant for protection can come later. Now- “Liber.” The seal burned green, the bandages lost their hold, and within seconds they disassembled and fell to the ground.

In the distance not too far away a guttural growl was uttered and for a brief second Symmetry’s attention was drawn to the sound. The headmaster only gave what little attention that wasn’t already focused on Daisensei to watch his two partners engage in what could be called a wrestle amongst wild -possibly man eating- plants. Although if anyone was doing the wrestling, it was Patty while Liz watched.

Eyes back on the prize, a gleam came off the silver helmet the shinigami held in his palms. Shaped to cover almost the entire head, leaving just enough room for the eyes, nose, mouth and chin to just barely be seen under its cover. And to top it all off it had an insignia of its own engraved into the forehead of its outer layer.

A moon. A full moon.

Thoughts and wonders pecked at the headmaster’s mind. He didn’t move forward nor did he move back. All of this was new, different, uncharted. He had no idea who this...thing...this man was, if it could even still be called that. All he knew, was that he’d need be careful- especially given the length of precaution that he- a Shinigami, was being made to do.

The air seemed to change, and as if on cue Lord Symmetry spoke. First to his partners, then to his prisoner. “Patty, Liz, your helmets. Take them out.”

“Alriiightyyyy,” one more punch, a kick here and a kick there- and Frank the man-eating plant bowed out. Patty, beaming with a grin, cracking her knuckles walked triumphantly over to her sister who simply stood on the sidelines hand pressed against forehead, head shaking in complete exhaustion.

“Tell me, Daisensei, before we begin. How did my father know you?” A tap echoed as Symmetry’s foot took a step forward. It wasn’t the only step, but it was the most defining. Right here, right now, he wanted answers. After all, if this was going to be the few moments the two would ever meet then why wait and get the answers later when he could get them now.

He had a metal mask. Immediately, despite the livelihood of his voice, there was a deadness to actually interacting with him. It was at little fault of his own, but it did feel unnatural. Hardly human--which was only made worse by the rumors of his immortality and vast skill. All of that, however, was contradicted by his answer, “I was a student. A long time ago… before you were even splintered off from your father.”

Perhaps to the more faithfully devoted, the fanatics you could say- that last remark might’ve come off as patronizing. Belittling even. Maybe even to the most pious, an act of utter disrespect to a True God, a Lord of Death. But to Lord Symmetry-- to Kid the First, this was a simple answer to a rather deep question. Regardless, the headmaster knew not to pry when it was not necessary. And from the way his prisoner had responded, that was as far as he’d ever know.

A light sigh. “I see… Patty, Liz- helmets.” Three persons moved equally. Perhaps it had been their years together, Kid’s younger self hammering in the importance of unity, or maybe even the fact that they’d just grown used to it. But at the exact same time, altogether, three helmets were donned; One star, one moon, one sun. Charms of protection against something they might not even be able to comprehend.

“A better question,” Dansensei said, interrupting, “is why he never introduced me to you.”

Consistency was derailed, one out of three stopped with just an inch left to close the gap. Lord Symmetry froze for just a second before following his partner’s action in suit. For a moment it looked like he’d say nothing. After all, there really was nothing to say. How would he know when right now, as they spoke- this stranger proved to know his father even a bit better than he believed he’d known him himself.

Three long agonizing seconds went by. Patty’s grin was gone. Perspiration had begun to build on Liz’s brow. Lord Death, was a sensitive topic. Even now, over four decades later and even now it still bothered Kid on some extent- at some level that he’d never gotten the chance to wish his father goodbye.

Perhaps this guy was in here for being a jerk. And Patty planned on saying so, till the following words came out of Symmetry’s mouth in the coolest manner possible: “I don’t know.”

And with that the subject was dropped. At least, by Lord Symmetry. Daisensei, however, beat the topic with a hammer. “It’s rather simple,” he said. While his tone before had a mystery to it, now it contained a solid sense of purpose. “I knew how he would die.”

Footsteps died.

“He never wanted me to tell you,” he explained further.

“...” Footsteps lived.

The temperature seemed to drop. Every step the Shinigami took, was every step he wondered was a mistake. Anger, was far from anywhere near to how Kid felt. How Symmetry felt. A deep rooted feeling of curiosity overpowered all these other feelings, with anger simply nipping at the heels. Symmetry made no response to that revelation. It wasn’t why he was here, he needed to remember that. That’s why they were here. To help him make sure he did.

Left and right, Thompson sisters flanked their meister and their oldest friend. The more she heard this old coot talk, the more she felt like she could punch a dweeb to the moon and back. What his deal was she’d never know, nor did Patty really care. But if things kept going on like this it’d take a guardian of Tartarus to stop her from getting too old iron man over there.

Steps echoed, the illuminated archaic chamber grew colder. One was because of the Shinigami’s aura, two was because the world had decided the mood was just right. Liz kept her eyes on both Kid and Patty. The latter more than the former. On their way here, she’d heard a lot. Mainly rumors, rumors of what this guy could do. Might’ve done-- had done. Then again those were rumors, but just because they were rumors didn’t mean she was any less concerned on what he could do. Handicapped or not, a person could do dangerous things with the right environment and right tools. From what Kid had said, this guy had been here for... years? And whether Daisensei could level a room with a simple blink or blow up a planet with his mind, Patty would still go swinging and kicking first- thinking and ducking last.

Soon enough, echoes died. All was still, Frank was coming around. A pale hand slid out of trimmed black pants, and was offered a good few inches away while two others stood in the back and watched. Lord Symmetry looked down at Daisensei. Not with disdain. Not with anger. Not with respect. He was neutral. Felt nothing. Cared nothing of this prisoner or this thing or this man.

He wasn’t here for questions about his father or their past. He was here because his students-- the world, could be in danger yet again. And given a war had happened no more than just a decade plus ago, the world wasn’t ready yet for another surprise.

So here he was. Wrist offered, eyes watching, poised and waiting. “You said you had a vision to show me, yes?...Liz, the helmet if you would.”

Two hands and one pull, the helmet came off with ease. Lord Symmetry turned his attention back to his prisoner, eyes narrowing only slightly to hint at the mistrust he really held. “Please, whenever you are ready.”

“But,” his tone didn’t drop nor did it waver. “If you try anything, I will do what my father couldn’t,” a pebble trembled. Particles of dust rained from above-- “and smite you where you sit. Do you understand?” the rattling ceased, the question rhetorical. Now, it was all a matter of whether or not this had been truly worth it.

“Show me.”

Daisensei listened to what the younger Shinigami said. Threats. In all reality, signs of weakness. However, it was a greater sign of strength that he overcame the previous truth he was told. Daisensei lifted one of his hands from his chair and extended it outward, palm facing up. “Your father could have taken my life a long time ago… and as long as you have those helmets, you could still end me without taking a second breath,” he explained. Again, all raw truths. “You are too strong to show you without touch, Shinigami. Take my hand and you will see,” he added, giving a final bout of instructions.

And taking it, Lord Symmetry complied. As he did, he could feel the wavelength of Daisensei creep into his body. It was like a slow trickle. Nothing like normal resonance. As if a weak stream poured into his own soul, his mind and soul were slowly flooded with a fluid like wavelength. And then? Then… the scene replayed. The exact vision that Daisensei saw:

Like the light at the end of a tunnel, like a breath of fresh air out of water, Lord Symmetry’s eyes opened just as quickly as they’d closed. The vision was vivid. It was as he’d said. Three kishins. A battle that reminded him oh so much of the battle he’d had with...Asura.

Time seemed to slow down and stop, then the entire series of events began to repeat itself. This time, the world seemed different. Lord Symmetry was no longer ‘part’ of it, but instead more an observer watching. “You can see it from any angle,” Daisensei said, “any detail and time, just ask. We are in a Soul Space shared between us and I am recreating my vision with absolute clarity.”

A moment of silence. Some time to think. “Slow down the playthrough this time on the next loop. I want to get a good look at...the male one’s movement.” He decided.

Just as requested, the entire vision played again, albeit slower. There was no detail spared, either. Unfortunately, the transition to a Kishin completely altered the Soul Signatures of the individuals making it nigh-impossible to identify them, but Lord Symmetry was capable of pinning down every other aspect of what he saw. The corrupted wavelength of the Kishin was concentrating in its legs each time it moved, its entire body was reinforced with its unnatural energy. Each time it moved, each time it rebalanced itself, each time it ran along the tendrils launched at it, its wavelength reacted in tandem.

The rage this beast emanated was unique as well. It was predatory. It was not just blind fury, but territorial. Whatever the twins were doing was impeding on this bestial Kishin. At this point, it would take hours of not days of analysis by a true psychologist to determine if it was the rage that made this Kishin a beast or if it was merely part of its nature--both were possible. Kishin were effectively demonic beings. Still. There seemed to be hardly an ounce of humanity left in it. It was a monster completely consumed by anger and at this particular point it time, its rage was focused on the twins above it.

“In terms of raw power, this one far exceeds the others. If I had to take a guess, this one was a Meister or Weapon--the others were either immature or humans. I sense no magic from any of them, but that never means anything,” Daisensei said, giving his input. All of it valid. His tone shifted, too. He was serious. Constructive. Useful. “However, if you take a look at the other two, their Madness resonates with each other. If left alone, they may be able to bring down a continent… at least a nation. It’s hard to speculate with just this information,” he added.

Daisensei was right, it was hard to speculate with so little. But even if they didn’t know who these Kishin were before falling from grace, they could at least determine their current power from the interactions alone. Eyes moved from beast, to joint holy relic. The twins and their onslaught of attacks.

It was clear the two had worked together in whatever they did for years. All their life even, perhaps that could be deduced from the form they’d taken. Then again, perhaps that wasn’t even right. A Kishin’s form wasn’t always based on what exactly aligned with the madness they had succumbed to. It could be tied to anything really, just like the male’s beast form seemed fixed to the anger he released there could be no guarantee that that was the cause for the form he’d taken.

Regardless, a bit more study needed to be done. “Rewind back to the moment before the twins commit their tendril onslaught. I want to get a look at how it affects the surrounding area.”

Yet again, as requested, the entire world shifted backwards. Time flowed at the same slow rate except this time, the two were at ground level watching the tendrils. Their speed was phenomenal. If one paid close attention, they could see that despite their initial speed, the red Kishin was reacting to them before they even neared him--meaning he was capable of perceiving them from a great distance and reacting faster than they could commit fully to their action. A slight factor, but an important one--one that meant he was indeed leagues above that attack.

The tendrils sliced through the air like arrows. In fact, Daisensei slowed them down enough to show that they were visibly curving mid-air and doing so in tandem. They were more akin to organic arrows than they were missiles. Once they hit the ground, their sharp points allowed them to easily imbed into the ground. Roughly a meter before they stopped. Their shockwave not only came from the impact, but from a final, powerful tug on the tendrils that straightened their curvature immediately, making them appear to be black, metallic shafts lodged in the ground.

The shock wave that was sent out was actually comprised of two waves hardly a second apart. The first was considerably weaker and only damaged the immediate area unless an underground fracture occurred. The second was the shock created by the tendrils. As more and more tendrils riddled the ground, the shock waves collided with each other, causing deep trenches in the ground and adding to the overall kinetic force if they traveled in the same direction.

“I assume that these tendrils have far more uses,” Daisensei said, “everything about their structure and function alludes to it. The way they move through the air, how complex they are once they land. A ground battle against these two would be difficult. Notice how they are obviously capable of flexion… I am sure they could continue vibrating to create more collateral damage.” Daisensei then scoffed slightly. “Adds to why I don’t think those two were fighters of any kind. Their entire… style, if you can call it that, seems to focus on mass destruction. As you know, a more concentrated attack is best for stronger foes. This was a waste of time,” he explained, adding quite a bit of strategy to his reasoning.

Again, a moment of silence. Symmetry merely listened but did not speak. Once more Daisensei seemed to prove some of those rumors true- maybe he really had been a student of the academy after all?

Soundless steps upwards a tendril, and Lord Symmetry made a motion that signaled for Daisensei to continue the flow. Once time had continued its decreasing process, Lord Symmetry followed every action with his eyes as the beast began dodging tendril after tendril; strike after strike.

Like hopscotch, Symmetry moved from one dark pillar to another just before they made contact with the ground. Every time the beast shifted to another position and moved, Symmetry would follow and take a moment to look around before continuing the game of cat and mouse.

He raised a hand for everything to stop only once the beast was ready to slash the twin statues apart, and once time froze he took a moment to carefully scrutinize both Kishin up close. It may have been a second, it may have been a minute but once he was done both Symmetry’s eyes closed and within a few moments he was back by Daisensei’s side.

For a moment he didn’t speak, merely looked up at the distant figure and thought. Who could he sent out to stop them- where was he going to start looking. The twins would take time if he was actually serious on tracking every single twin all over the world, but the beast was a problem. Obviously neither methods would work since it was both impractical and more or less impossible. Too many people in the world, so many different species and races to shift through, not enough time in the world to sit in one place and do it all in a single night or day. With finality a long exhale of air escaped Symmetry’s nostrils, he was stumped. This wasn’t like facing Asura-- Asura they knew. These three they knew nothing on- identity or otherwise. Signatures alone wouldn’t be enough to match and identify them with these monstrosities so that was out of the question also.

Which led to his final solution: “What do you advise?” he asked in almost defeat.

That is a difficult question for me,” Daisensei said, “mostly because I know nothing of the outside world. What you take for granted, I know nothing of. Lord Death showed me automobiles last time I was taken out of this prison and my former pupil offered to create a motorized chair for me. In my day, you would have never seen humans using anything like that--that was the domain of witchcraft.”Daisensei then allowed out a slow sigh. Almost of disappointment, but it had a tinge of something else.

“I have watched this over and over and I have made an educated guess… that red Kishin. I’ll call him Cardinal, like the bird. I believe he is the older of the three. His mind already seems adapted to rage, but… it’s more than that. You saw how his body moved. He has had ample time to adjust to it. I am sure you have Meisters now that have trained for years, yet cannot enhance their movements like that,” Daisensei continued explaining. It made sense. There was obviously a lot of thought that went into this.

“I would watch for him first. He is a single Kishin. More than likely, a weapon. Meisters rarely turn into Kishin; the only known method is to be consumed by Madness. But those that possess the weapon gene can consume souls. Create a list of all those in the DWMA that are weapons whom also show any potential of becoming a Kishin. Watch them close,” he explained. It seemed a little Big Brother, but at the same time, it made sense. Not only that, Daisensei likely had no idea who or what Big Brother was.

“Oh, one last thing. Your mind has been an open book to me while you were in here, Lord Symmetry. Patty and Liz may be protected, but I knew your thoughts. You wonder if my story is true. I assure you it is. My last student was Joe Buttaki. Your father gave him the last copy of my file. If you want to know who I am and what I did for certain, request it from the Oceania Branch of the DWMA. My name then was Desmond Whitaker. I was a Staff Meister. That’s all you need,” Daisensei said, giving Lord Symmetry access to yet another resource he had no idea existed.

The desire to inform Daisensei reading a person’s mind without permission was beyond rude, was shut down by the final piece of new information he was given as the ‘prisoner’, made his conclusion. Symmetry took a second to respond. It was clear that last remark had actually caught him off guard, even more so by learning the late Buttaki had been a part of this- just another link in a chain of secrets.

“Understood,” was all Symmetry had to say after briefly clearing his throat. “I’ll look into it and follow accordingly as advised. If there is nothing else, let’s head back.”

With that request, the world began to fall apart. The city broke down like a dream crashing around them. Eventually, even the smallest pieces turned into a fine sand which was swept away into the recesses of the Soul Space before it simply… vanished. The lights returned and the blue illumination of the underground prison were all that was left. This feeling was mildly more disorienting than the use of the teleporter pad.

And following that feeling, the sound of voices. One frantic, the other full of childish joy.

“Patty, you know I love you right.”

Something sounded like a mixture between hasty scribbling and squeaking. “Mhmm.”

“You know how I often tell you to think before you act sometimes?”

“Mhmmmmmm.” Came a sing songy voice.

“This is one of those times. Please stop what you’re doing before they come to.”

“Nope.”

“Please.” Liz tried one more time, but instead more scribbling hastened. A sigh followed by a shout of joy.

“DONE!”

Both shinigami and prisoner came to their senses. Both given a clear picture of a crudely drawn monocle, moustache, and what looked like whiskers on either one’s face. All done- in permanent black marker.

Where Patty had gotten a marker from, several levels below the surface and far away from any known convenience store in sight, was only something Liz would know. Whether or not this lightened the mood as Patty had intended, was purely up to the exile and deity.

“Luckily, metal washes off easily…” Daisensei commented. Oddly enough, this is not the first time his mask was ‘painted’, although it was the first time a marker was used. “Nonetheless, one final point to make. Everything in the world is connected, Lord Symmetry. I can potentially sense important events in the past or future for people or even objects sometimes… keep that in mind. Lord Death visited me on several occasions for that sole purpose,” Daisensei said in a more serious tone. The air had seemed to clear between them--at least a little.

“And I’ll see to it that I do the same when time calls for it...Thank you, for this and the advice. Patty, Liz. We’re going back.” Casting one more look in Daisensei’s direction before turning, Lord Symmetry merely nodded. Out of a sense of appreciation for everything and the information he’d been given rather than anything else.

With nothing else needed to be said, Lord Symmetry took the helmet Liz held, placed it under arm gave the chambers one last look. Then made his way towards the tablet from which they’d came. All the while dealing with Patty’s laughter as she jovially followed her meister behind.

The problem was the Thompson duo, was a solo. And Liz still remained. Unlike her sister whom followed Kid along, she remained to study Daisensei on her own, though her ever increasing distance in a slow retreat to the others showed her hesitance on being alone with him any further.

From a glance it looked like she had something on her mind. Something she wanted to ask. Regarding a certain rumor Kid had told her on the way here. There were a lot, but one stuck at the most relating to how he got here. Locked in here for who knows how long. But the hesitance to ask it was clear- and the helmet on her head prevented any intrusion within the privacy of her mind.

A voice echoed calling her name, and Liz ‘eeped’ in response. She gave one more look in his direction, nervously muttered a “thank you”and goodbye” then quickly followed the path that led to the tablet where her sister and meister waited.

“I assume this won’t be the last time we’ll meet Daisensei. And from what you’ve told me on my father’s relationship with you thus far...I may consider sending one or two students your way in the future. If I have anything I need help on relating to ‘those three’, I will call. Till then, goodbye.”

Light glowed, the temperature rose, the atmosphere shifted and azure light became a bright orange as the tablet teleported the group of three out of the chambers that was the prisoner’s abode. Frank the plant stirred, all was silent, and Daisensei- was once again alone.

Lord Symmetry & Mido☆Hoshi

Haha, you’re right, it was a shame we were disqualified in the third round,” Mido replied. They were going over the last time they met. Actually, the first time they met, as well. It was at an international sparring tournament held every other year by the DWMA--when it was stable enough for it. Mido and his partner were participants. In fact, they made headlines; it wasn’t often a ranged weapon went that far.

But I don’t think we could have won. Even at our best, I don’t think we had any technique that could beat dual resonance… the West Asia Branch definitely deserved that win,” Mido said. He had his own flashback to seeing a single Meister use two weapons in perfect resonance. It was rare. The only one in North America was the old instructor Professor Rung, but he had long-since retired.

My sponsor back home said you had the perfect Meister for me, though. In fact, she said you rattled her name off without missing a beat,” Mido said, shifting the subject from that last tournament. Not only that, there was a greater sense of curiosity in his voice. As with all youth, the joys of small talk were lost on him. “Who do you have in mind that would suit me so well?” he asked without hiding an ounce of his intrigue.

The headmaster smiled. In fact one could say it looked a bit more than just a simple smile, perhaps even... a grin. “Have you ever heard of the name Stein?” It was a simple question. A simply unnecessary question. Anyone that had been a student of DWMA, knew the name Stein. Dr. Franken V. Stein, to be more specific was renowned; not just for being a genius level technician and meister who participated in both the Kishin and Rebel War, but also for having written several documentaries on his studies of the different types of known Madness and their relation to the effects of the human psyche.

Every student and soldier in every branch knows Stein, Lord Symmetry,” Mido replied. A level of excitement was laced in between his words. “Doctor Franken Stein is taught worldwide as the pinnacle of Meisters. He has an entire entry in our books called ‘Genius-level’ because he combined Utility and Master tiers. Rumor has it that he could duel Lord Death in his prime…” Mido said. That was the commonplace speculation. Death the Kid knew Stein as a professor, but not in his prime. Comparing his skill to that of a Shinigami wasn’t completely crazy...

An amused chuckle echoed as the two passed through Symmetry Foyer. “Perhaps. I certainly don’t doubt the possibility. Dr. Stein was indeed one of the greatest Meisters to ever join DWMA’s ranks. His son, Austyn was no slack either. He may not have been a genius like his father, but he certainly had creative ways in manipulating the soul wavelength. Hm, brings back memories,” the principal mused. And there the conversation died in silence as the two continued through the halls of Symmetry Foyer, steps echoing along the way. It wasn't long before the two took a turn on the left in the ever large halls Murals decorated the walls to the right, rays of sunlight poured in from decorated windows of the left.

Every mural held someone of importance. Former students, former soldiers, assassins, agents, all depicted with different dates commemorating their time. Many were of those still alive, some in remembrance of those passed.

The slow tread allowed one the time to look carefully at the paintings made. The largest one of them all that hung above the many, the image of the late Lord Death, his son and their partners; one Spirit Albarn and two Thompsons. The image was a sight to behold but not as great as the one Lord Symmetry stopped at.

There standing in a large group, graduated members of DWMA’s Crescent Moon. Kilik Rung, Maka Albarn, Soul Evans, Patty Thompson they were all there. A class of up to 230 plus students stood together in a large group surrounded by teachers and professors of every department. Some faces were new, and some were old. Standing at the very front center, was a slightly taller Death the Kid trapped in a jovial headlock by a shorter more stout blue haired fellow. The image casted a reminiscent smile of nostalgia over the headmaster’s face as he stared at the largely enhanced photo. Especially as Lord Symmetry’s eyes took a wander through the very familiar group surrounding him and Black☆Star.

For a good while, a good two minutes or so, Symmetry said nothing. Thoughts of the past reminding him of those bittersweet times. Eyes roaming from the slightly older faces of his friends soon to be entering new stages in their lives, an even slight grin as his eyes locked on to Dr. Stein, Marie, and their baby boy Austyn. It was a peaceful moment. A warm moment. A moment that died soon enough when his eyes found two friendly faces he hadn’t seen in years. One showing benevolent warmth, the other showing callous yet friendly indifference.

Two girls. Two witches. Two former friends. Symmetry’s smile slowly faded and his slightly laxed yet still firm posture seemed to grow even firmer. “I have always thought the actions of man are the best interpreters of their thoughts-- Mido, in this line of work you will see a lot of things. Horrible things. My father never talked much about DWMA’s past. And every day I seem to understand why.

“Originally, I was going to have Stein’s granddaughter and my own daughter go on a mission to France. They were to both hunt down Rogue Witches and a few Mock Kishin as a part of make up for recent absences. But, things have changed. Those targets don’t seem to be a problem anymore. Two unidentified subjects of question seemed to have already taken care of them.”

The light in Mido’s eyes only grew brighter at that sentence. The young man could hardly keep his thoughts from becoming words: “So… my Meister will either be a Stein or your daughter?” His question was direct. Blunt, even. It was quite obvious that he didn’t filter his excitement for either idea.

The lord merely gave his head a nod seemingly lost in thought. Then after a few more seconds of staring at the two girls, Symmetry moved on. Addressing Mido only a minute after. “Morgenstern Stein, is going to be your partner. She is an Elite of the One Star division. Usually, I don’t allow other divisions to mix and become partners for extended periods of time, but in her case I’ll make an exception since her past partnerships haven’t all ended fairly well. Besides, on the mission I’ll be sending you two on she might need someone with more experience on the field to keep her steady.

It was an odd thought, honestly. Mido was a Hoshi. Renown family, renown name, and he even surpassed plenty of others in it. But, hot damn, there was just something about being assigned to a Stein. There were plenty of Hoshi members. There were only a few Steins. Not just that, Lord Symmetry was assigning her to him based off his own merit. That said something in itself, but Mido didn’t quite care about the attention his way. His new partner came from the only known line of Genius Meisters.

Mido let a shit-eating grin creep along his face, but before he spoke, he cut himself short. A brief pause later and he was ready to reply. “Most of the techniques that earned me Two-Star require a proper partner. Maybe it’s the same for Morgenstern,” Mido said, attempting to calm himself and throw in some rationale. It made sense. Most high-level techniques did require a proper partnership. But, as everyone should know, a rank was not given based solely on technique or talent.

Mido returned if only a little to his prior glee. “So, when do I get to meet her?” he asked.

Soon.” He informed. “I’ve sent off several students and faculty to inform her to come back to my office as soon as they find her.” Grabbing hold of the brass door knob the two stood in front of, the ring on the principal's left hand glowed and the oaken door slowly opened. Inside, the Death Room waited.

INFRM: 2H || 2R
Dr. S. Nagisa || Dr. Anand

"Disgusting." A word said with such bitterness and reproach that made it seem as if you'd just seen a headless wet worm crawl up someone's unsuspecting pants. At the same time it was the word Chief Hygienist Enforcer Zandro, Defender of All Things Clean had used nine days ago to describe yet another mess at the cafeteria. Now, ten days later, his team having done all they could as they should-- the cafeteria had been reopened for use two days after the incident. Now, the word was being used for a speck of dust Zandro had spotted on a nearby windowsill.

Distracted H.E. Zandro turned his attention at the sound of a dry cough to the young Weapon beside him. Cleanly dressed, no wrinkles, nothing out of order or any filthy stains on his clothing-- the balding young Italian gave his pure white cap a tip in silent salute to Darius' etiquette and manners, while thanking the stars above some students had the decency to dress properly given the school's policy on dress code. With a glance back behind him Zandro counted off the pea-sized chicks that would be following him and without a second to spare made an orderly march through the first floor halls and up the endless spiraling stairs. Him leading, everyone else following.

Polished black shoes clicked on clean hardwood ground as Zandro strode forward through the faint sunny halls in the direction of Infirmary Room 2H. 2E, R, and O, sparsely divided across the second floor in various parts of each wing, all situated with their sections in an orderly manner in an orderly fashion-- as it should. The gangly Italian cleared distances in long yet confident steps in his smoke white suit and oncoming students down the very large halls immediately gave him way or avoided the man entirely, despite there being more than enough space to pass each other by. Paying it no mind, Zandro focused on his job, his thoughts only on what needed to be done and nothing more. For eight long minutes the suave attired man said nothing and practically forced the students behind him to keep up with quick strides of their own- if Zandro noticed he certainly did not show it, not until he came to a stop at one particular hallway and gave an about turn to address the others where he waited only one or two seconds for them all to catch up.

Scanning the group, the enforcer went on to pick his first representative. "Darius, take this hallway down to 2R. Once there, go to section D-1. You will find one Tazmure, waiting for you there. Ready to be picked up. Dr. Anand will be relieved to see you, and I'm sure Prima wouldn't mind a bit of freedom from her duty. Kensei, Miss Winter, and Taylor are all required to stay till further notice. Once you are done there go to Hall Room 2 and wait for my further instructions." Darius, ever ready to prove his worth merely gave the slayer of germs a nod and with that he was off. Meanwhile, Zandro threw a cursory glance back to the remaining group of miscreants...minus one, and picked his next delegate with a aloof stare and simple point of the finger.

"Biyu", somewhat startled at the suddenness but only visible from within the bespectacled girl moved forward with renewed calm as if she hadn't just hesitated a second ago. "Yes?"

"You will come with me to ensure that Conor, Maya, and Kasper once discharged return to Hall Room 2. Ikki, Xandria, Ash, go with Darius to ensure Taz doesn't give him any trouble. Biyu, let us go."

  • 2H stunk of recently applied floor chemicals, peach scented air freshener and some faint hard to determine smell that possibly shouldn't be in the mix. Upon entry, Dr. Nagisa and Hygienist Enforcer Zandro, made a strange exchange that only co-workers within the same or similar department would get. It involved a intricate handshake, two apples, and impassive expressions; before long Zandro departed to file medical papers in heavily protected medical records. Once done and the looming orderly enforcer was gone, Biyu was led by a much brighter Dr. Nagisa towards the Discharge section of the surprisingly spacious former closet room. D-1, was its name and its three occupants were looking better since their little game. Inside, checking their freshly applied bandages was a younger woman sporting a foreign tattoo barely visible on the wrist of her left sleeve. "Make sure to change these bandages every two days for the next 3 weeks. On your check up I'll be here to see your progress, got it?" The three nodded and the warm fair brown woman rose to her feet giving Dr. Nagisa a nod as she left and a smile to Biyu as she passed.

Nodding back as the traditional Earth Shaman and Magi professor, Enju left, Nagisa turned her attention back to her patients. "Conor, Mina, and Kasper. I hope you three will follow my instructions on these painkillers I prescribed. Eat before taking them. Take only one, once a day- especially if you feel sudden pain on those burns. Make sure to apply the antibiotic cream prescribed to your afflicted areas daily. And when you take showers use cold water. Am I understood?"

A nod waved through. Conor distracted with bandages, Kasper strangely silent, and Mina despite exhaustion happy to know Kasper was alright. Dr. Nagisa, fixing the three with a stare, merely shook her head--her chipper mood fading with her black bangs shaking and reality sinking back in. With a sigh she said, "Take them. I'm sure Zander will be there soon enough to lead you all to the pharmacist once he's gotten the other members of your party. Biyu, take this." And slipping the girl three slips of paper Dr. Nagisa disappeared around the corner to return back to her work. It wasn't long before the group was out the door only to hear Dr. Nagisa's voice call out, "Don't lose those prescriptions! If you do, that maniac won't give you the right medication!"

Unsure of how why any pharmacist would even do that, Biyu merely looked back at her three new...acquaintances, readjusted her glasses and began her walk towards Hall Room 2. A bitter thought made its way in her mind as she recalled the sore muscles she'd had over the weekend, but ignoring feelings for duty the honor student pushed on. Conor, Kasper, and Mina, following along. Not too far away down another hall a stout ball of optimism and his bored companion, decide to tag along with respective distance. Rodney and Zylon being the unseen plus two.

Rodney & Zylon
Rod and Zy.jpg
Zylon yawned "And why exactly are we doing this again?" she asked her companion as he bounced from one foot to the other merrily

"Because they look so down and whatnot!" Rod whispered before leaning towars her "And could ya please quiet down a bit, don't wanna spook 'em."

"Those two are literally responsible for tearing apart the Cafeteria." the DJ commented before turning her gaze to the third wounded student "And he... well... I'mma be honest I don't really know who that one is."

"But he was there when all the bad stuff went down, so we needs to help him recover as well."

Zylon glanced down for a moment before giving a lazy smile and turning to him "So, what exactly are you planning to cheer' em up with?"

Rodney gave a strange laugh at that, before leaning away glancing about suspiciously. Zylon quirked an eyebrow as Rodney clasped his hands behind his back and gave a nondescript whistle, before suddenly whipping a flat box from behind him and presenting it.

"Zylberean craft chocolates?" She asked

"Yes!" Rodney had a small twinkle in his eyes as he lightly patted the case before handing to her and patting himself proudly "A little bit of sweetness to dampen the sour if I do say so myself."

"Says here these aren't even legal in some countries."
Zylon mentioned as she looked over the box , she glanced at her Meister "Aren' these addictive? Weren't you supposed to be the cautious one when it came to friends and all?"

"There's a risk to it yes, what with the sheer mind-crushingly tantalizing flavor being far too much for an average human to resist after having a single miniscule scrap, but I don tested some out and found that only those of weak will could be overtaken by the sheer mouth-watering deliciousness that is the Craft Cocoas of Zylberea!"

The DJ didn't seem satisfied with that answer "How exactly do you test that kind of thing?"

Rodney's smile weakened a bit and became a bit sadder as he turned away and nervously pressed his fingers together "They uh, they ain't the first lot I tried givin' these to..."

The Duo stopped as Zylon watched her meister give some more nervous laughter for a bit...

"But I paid for every single damage that they wrought upon my other pals, and learned that a strong mind and body can enjoy these delicacies without all the hassles involved. Mina-Chan and Kaspie got's all the strength's one should need! And after a good bite or two I know for a fact that the taste will make the risk all worth it."

"And the other guy?"

"I heard he dealt with Winston and Co, he should be strong enough."

"Pfft, Winst? You're gonna bet the guy's safety on him beating Winst?"

"Eh, took Freddy-bo-Betty down too."

"Only slightly more impressive, but not quite there."

The DJ placed her free hand on her hip as they resumed following "Shouldn't you be mad or something? Ya know, since that dude pretty much beat the crap outta some o' your friends?"

"Aw, ya needs to be able to tell how to deal with certain friends, Zy!" the glutton gave a small giggle "Winst and his lot love roughhousing, so this was pretty much par for the course. Learning how to deal with different sorts is what makes me a professional at it!"

Zylon just rolled her eyes before giving a sigh of acceptance as the two continued walking, Rodney's smile gleaming as they followed behind at a distance with his eyes locked on the targets of his companionship "I have faith in them Zy-Zy, you should too!"

"...Why?"

"Because these guys are our classmates, and what better way to treat your cherished classmates than with candy and smiles?"

"How about something a bit less stalkerish?" Zylon asked with another yawn as she casually peeled the wrapper off the box.

"Stalkerish? Not even close, lassie!"

"Following someone around, offering smiles and candy while talking about how close you could potentially get?" The DJ snorted "What part of that is 'not even close?'"

Their banter was nowhere near quiet enough to go unnoticed by the perceptive, despite their continued distancing from the three and their chaperone.
