Fantasy Let's Kill The Demon King!

Marcus

Feeling goosebumps all over himself and finding that he was now wearing simple clothes and sandals, Marcus listened to the words of the narrator even as his vision faded and the smell of smoke lingered on. He did not expect this kind of a tutorial and wondered if this was part of the reason why many people enjoyed games like this.

He was brought out of his thoughts moment later when his visioned returned, and he could finally see that he was somewhere different. Looking around, he sees other people materialize out of nowhere. Those that did not react at all could easily be seen as NPCs while the rest were players like him.

His attention was spread all over, but he did focus when he heard what the loud guard had shouted, going over to find out what was going on. After listening, he watched on as several other players got to the cart and picked their equipment. Heading on over, he decided on a staff for his weapon, thinking of using it as a flexible weapon for defensive and offensive purposes. He also picked up his armour and some medical herbs along with an unlit torch, though now came the hard part.

He was supposed to form or join a party with others, but he wasn't able to speak at all. The other players might treat him like a weirdo. Unsure of what to do, he stood there with his staff in hand.

Stefan H. Morin/Nocuous

The question he asked was met with the most expected answer, Axious had known nobody in the crowd. So they're only options on who they should be partying up with are left with two, talk to them directly or just wait until everyone has already teamed up and look for the ones that have no team. Nocuous followed Axious when he asked, curious as to what the man thought up in order to find some other team mates. The two walked over to a pair of people, a guy and a girl it seemed and Axious had asked them both about if they wanted to join them on this party.

"We could really use some more members to get this thing going, how about it, you two?" Nocuous said after Axious had asked. He examined the two of them, looking over their weapons as to see a hint of what they're preferred class might be. He himself preferred a range class, like a archer or mage. But also had a liking towards rogue classes with their speed and such. Judging from the guy, he appeared to be a sort of swordsman but at this stage of the game it would be hard to tell exactly what they were to be.

The girl however, he couldn't put an exact class on her. A sort of support class he guessed, or possibly even a hybrid of classes. Now, if the two of them were to join, that would make a party of four. Which was enough, since the guard from earlier said to make groups of four to six. But an extra two people would do fine enough with him. So long as it doesn't get too crowded in this party, he would be fine with this. Nocuous waited for what answer the two would give with patience, folding his arms as he did.

Mira observed the crowd from a distance, carefully studying the various individuals. Some people were still picking out their equipment, others had yet to get any at all. Her eyes shifted to the forming groups, and she mulled over the options of introducing herself to another party or starting one on her own.

Movement registered in her peripheral vision, interrupting her internal decision. She looked at the approaching girl, somewhat surprised that someone would come to her, and really surprised when she asked to party up. "Hybrid huh?" She said absentmindedly, her gaze briefly lowering to the knives the girl carried on her belt. "I guess we can party up. I'm Mira. Mira the Mage."

That was easy. Of course they would probably need more than a party of two. Her attention returned to the crowd, where she noticed another staff wielding player who seemed to be alone. Guess I gotta yell to catch his attention. She sighed before raising her own staff in the air. "Hey you! Wanna join up with us?"

Raiyan Faine- Axious

Axious waited for the two to decide if they wanted to join up or not. He glanced at there weapons and saw that the guy had the same set of weapons as himself. The girl on the other hand had chosen a staff, maybe she would be some kind of mage or something like that. Maybe this was one of those games that you got to make your own class and use magic with a sword... otherwise the lack of ranged ability could be costly.

"I am also in need of a group, if you have the room."

Axious turned around to look at the person who asked to join the party. He gave the man a smile and nodded his head, "I'm cool with it, we need a max of six anyway. My name is Axious." he said and held his hand out to the man. From a quick glance he saw the guy had a shortsword as well. I really hope the lack of ranged ability won't screw us over.

Marcus

Marcus mentally thought about his inventory and stored the unlit torch and medical herbs inside before closing it. He holds his staff and look around, still hesitant in approaching others when he heard someone shouting in his general direction. Turning his head, he spots two other players together. One of them seemed like an archer while the other was waving her staff. At the question of whether he wanted to join them, he looked a bit unsure before finally nodding and walking over.

Reaching the pair, he is unsure of whether they would be accepting of him with his disability. After a moment of silence, he tries to mime opening his mouth and gesturing slightly in the hopes that they would understand that he was a mute.

''Oh boy''

Anthony was clearly not prepared for this. He had heard that Demon King Online was pretty realistic, but from the moment he put on his helmet thingy, and was introduced into the wonderful array of moonlight shards of atmosphere, his breath doubled. It was quite breathtaking even from the menu. Closely he looked around but was soon startled by a voice, rather un-natural sounding one at that. He guessed that it was the game's interface, and probably tutor in the tutorial that was likely to follow.

“Welcome to Demon King Online. Please stay still while scanning procedures occurs.”

The voice echoed around him, and after a small breeze that was probably the scan, a multitude of forms appeared in the space before Anthony. The virtual voice, seemed to also want his desired name or username, age and gender. ''Right, no pressure'' he said with a smirk as he cycled through appearances. One was muscular, one was stubby, one was ...a girl? Anthony thought to himself that he would probably date his alter-gendered self, if she was real, because she wasn't bad. Taking a gander over the androgynous body as well, Anthony shrugged to himself, decided to remain the same and spoke out loud to the voice. ''Name: Miwa, Age: 17, Gender: Male.'' he spoke with a clear tone so the AI will understand his speaking.
---
As he finished his words, a chill-like feeling ran across his back, and as he looked down he noticed new garments being fitted upon his figure. Rather plain, medieval looking clothes. Exciting, the prospect that mere moments from now, he will be in a new virtual world, where many, many things could happen. As the smell of burning wood hit his nose, Anthony heard the voice again, this time it explained the basics of the game, and whatever setting he was being put in. Militia. Rushen village. That seemed pretty interesting for starters, and the ''harsh'' mention of the game, made it even more intriguing. He smilled to himself, as sight came to him and he assesed his surroundings. Small village, old-looking, with rudimentary water system, a well. Straw roofs, which could prove problematic in case of fires.

As other figures began to spawn, Miwa circled his eyes around, looking both at NPC's and players alike. A big, rather brutish looking guard was saying stuff about inventory, which Miwa made sure to check as soon as he heard the term. Equipment was made available as well, and objectives followed soon after. The premise of the tutorial was simple enough. Gathering equpment and forming a party was standard MMO game-rule after all. Time to get to business.

He closed in on the weapon stall, and after a few moments of consideration, picked the leather armor, an unlit torch, a few knives and the bow and arrows. He was used to playing hunter, and even had a smidge of experinence in archery from real life. He made it 3 place once, in a competition. That wasn't too shabby, right? Looking around yet again, he took his ensamble of new found equipment and started to eye out the other players. Most of them seemed to have found suitable parties, and some were already conversing with one another. Closing in one group, he patted the back of a player with black hair, and black eyes and cleared his throat.

''Ahem, hi. Room for one more?''

Stefan H. Morin/Nocuous

Another had come to join the party it seemed, and Axious had handled that part so he had no need to say something. Nocuous now were to start thinking about another member and how it is they were to get one. In spite of the fact they had no real need of one considering they've gotten themselves past the bare minimum of four members a party, now consisting of five people. The guy that asked Axious appeared to be just having a short sword, so he couldn't pinpoint what kind of class they were to be specifically but could tell it may just be a melee one.

Whatever it was, there were just a few more thoughts in his mind that he couldn't ignore. Now that they had this party of theirs, would they just go straight to the Elder and ask her to assign the group a post, or wait until everyone else had grouped up and then they go to the Elder for a post. Or alternatively, wait for a new member to come and have this be a party of six rather than five. And there was also the issue of who was to be the leader of this party, if they were to have one at all.

But just as Nocuous was contemplating on a multitude of things, he had been tapped on the shoulder by some other player it seemed. And not by any of the current party members either, it was a different person. Turning to see who it was, he was greeted by the sight of another male asking if there was room for one more person. Before he responded the person's question however, he took a glance at the guy. To be more specific, at their equipment. This person appeared to have also picked a bow and arrow as a main weapon from the looks of it.

With that, it was time for him to respond. "Oh, sure. That'd be perfect actually, that would fill in the remaining spot left. I am Nocuous, it is a pleasure to meet you," he greeted, extending his hand for a hand shake.

Aubrey kuki || Shaolin

Staring at the high tech like halemt that seems to be the gateway to this "dko" game that he decided to get. Just to see if its all that. He didn't favor these games that people ride its band wagon, as if its the only game that sold that much. Aubrey decided to get in his comfortable clothing, which was a brown tank top and, brown baggy sweat pants and plopped on his bed with the helmet he had.

He began to get settled, and placed the helmet on his head. It was quite dark, though he assumed it was loading until a loud voice was heard that startled him. "Piece of shit!" he yells, as he was warped into this virtual game once the he finished whatever he was saying. Aubrey looked around him, he wasn't in his room but was in front of many options to choose from. It seem the basic stuff was just available for now.

"Hmm, lets mix things up. I'll just keep my age. Name..Shaolin? Gender seems like a big flip, so I'll just go with both. No one in the real world can identify me anyway, so i doubt these people can." Once he was done making his finalization the scenery had change. It appeared that his wardrobe changed drastically. He wasn't in his normal comfortable clothing, in fact these felt more for some sort of agile type. He did do some exercises, and activity to make him seem somewhat small and, lanky despite being slender. Aubrey had on a backless, sleeveless shirt that combined with the dress that currently shows off his thighs, while a white sash was wrapped around the waist, with a pair of black arm bands and, traditional chinese shoes. He wanted to change his hair up, and maybe thinking about getting this style once he visits china. His hair was rather short, with long white braids bound in white cloth.

Once his appearance was settled, he was finally brought into the official world of dko. The smell of smoke came from the burning wood that kept the fire going, there was players already gathered but was swarming like bees towards a cart that seemed to be weapons. "So I assume this is the beginner stage in a game like this there must be these guilds that are relevant in place." Aubrey or should I say shaolin went on and advance towards the cart that people seem obsessed with. There were mainly weapons that he handled with out in the real world, so he wanted to go with something he's a master at. Archery, and a dagger to keep in handy.

Once he picked his weapon he soon felt lost. "Now what the hell next?" He scanned his surroundings, and assumes that people are forming an alliance already. So all he can do is just wait until someone is generous enough to find him first, and hopefully no one right off the batt assumes his gender.

ANTHONY MIWA/ MIWA

''Nice to meet you Nocuous. I am Anthony. But most of my friends call me Miwa'' he said as he shook the hand of the other player. At first glance, not much could be gathered about Nocuous. He seemed friendly enough, and the fact that he accepted Miwa into the mix of their party so quickly, only gave him bonus points in Anthony's mind.

''So, it seems like we have a good enough party. Lots of hybridisation going around though, if I see correctly. Might have to do with the fact that we aren't assigned a clear class or orientation in the tutorial. Might prove nice, because this allows for more free customisation later, I suppose'' he blurted out, looking at the group. ''Oh sorry, I'm rambling again. I'm quite giddy. This is my first time in a VRMMORPG, and I'm getting excited just thinking of all the posibilities'' he said as he stepped to the side, waiting to see what the party will decide next.

Mira slowly lowered her own staff, a perplexed expression painted across her face. What's his deal? The other staff wielding player seemed to be hesitant about joining her party. She couldn't imagine why. Was he a solo player? Perhaps he was afraid of girls? She put on a faint smile when he finally nodded, but something still seemed wrong. There was a clear uncertainty in his step. Maybe he's just a nervous in general?

She was expecting an introduction from the player or a 'hello' at the very least, but none came. Slight concern arose within her when the guy remained silent. Is he really this nervous? His sudden indistinct movements only increased her confusion. "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" She asked with frown. "Tell me your name at the very least. C'mon speak up!" She paused for a moment and turned to the knife girl. "I don't believe I got your name either."

Atticus Janvier.

Janvier accepted his hand, shaking it firmly. "I am Janvier. It is a pleasure." His face remained stern as he looked around at the others who would hypothetically be their party. A melee focus for sure, it seemed, but no matter. The skill of the player tended to matter much more than party balancing from his experience. Did he wish to get close to these people? Likely not. Relationships hardly lasted for him, especially online ones. It was likely they wouldn't see much of each other past this mandatory segment. Besides, did he have room in his heart for friendships? He doubted it. Janvier was a serious one - never focusing too much on emotional or social relationships. Oh well - no use contemplating too long.

Koizumi Sora/Nyx

Nyx watched the man's body language carefully when Mira could not get a verbal answer from him, trying to figure out why. More party members would be good, after all, since they didn't have the minimum required. However, even though he seemed a bit anxious and seemed like he was a bit uncomfortable it wasn't to the point where his body language pointed to him being agitated enough to not be able to speak. She caught his miming, and his direct eye contact, so while she didn't clearly understand she knew that something was keeping him from verbally answering since he was clearly trying to communicate.

Nyx's eyebrows furrowed when she realized that she hadn't introduced herself properly yet, disturbed by her own lack of manners. She bowed in apology to Mira before saying the information she should have given with her greeting. "I'm sorry, my name is Nyx. For now I plan on being a Hybrid, so I'll fill any role you need me to. I look forward to working with you and other party members." She got a bit closer to Mira, whispering just in case because she didn't want to hurt the staff-wielding man's feelings, or anger him. "I think, since he hasn't spoken but he's clearly maintaining eye contact and doesn't seem to be disturbed... I think he's mute. That doesn't make any sense though, unless he was born mute and never learned to talk, since you'd think he could adjust his avatar to not be mute. Or, perhaps, he's role playing. The crowd is thinning though, so let's just polish our sign language abilities." Normally Nyx would leave such a troublesome personage behind, not really caring for the challenge that working with them is, but the crowd was thinning and they didn't really have a choice on who to party with anymore.

emilia aokiEXVIUS
Exvius' first sensations upon being born was the smell of smoke and the chill of cool air against his skin. The fact that her avatar was capable of getting goosebumps in response to the temperature change gave Emilia goosebumps for an entirely different reason. The UI voice returned, explaining the setting her character had been spawned at - the village of Rushen in the kingdom of Ferdinam in the world of Heim, got it - and that there would be a tutorial to acclimate new players to the game. That made sense. For a lot of players this would be their first VRMMO, so starting them off easy was smart. It wouldn't make sense to let players wander into a high-level area when they were still trying to figure out how to walk around and equip a sword.

Exvius raised his hand in front of him and spoke, "Inventory." Sure enough an empty inventory window appeared before him. Given how realistic this game was, being able to carry items around without having to worry about the weight would be incredibly convenient. Objective one: gather starting equipment. He walked towards the table covered in a variety of equipment new players had to choose from, but after a few steps he slowed to a stop, then changed direction and ran off around the side of a building.

When he returned the the spawn area the pale avatar's face was noticeably flushed. He walked right past the equipment table before realizing he'd missed it and turned back. Starting equipment, right! That was important. Emilia wasn't sure what kind of character she wanted Exvius to be or what kind of weapons he'd use, so she just went with a little bit of everything. Leather armor he put on, a short sword went on his right hip, a dagger on his left, stave in hand. He put two more daggers into his inventory, two torches, and a handful of the herbs. Who knew how useful this stuff might end up being, and he could always throw them out if he didn't end up needing them. He doubted there was a littering penalty in a video game.

Objective two: form a party. Exvius walked around the groups of players looking for any group that seemed to stand out... or just looked like they'd be willing to take him. As he looked he spun the stave around in front of him. Emilia had learned to spin a baton for band tryouts last year, and it seemed like that muscle memory was still there even though she was in a game. The stave slipped from his grasp and clacked loudly against the ground. Well, Emilia hadn't been very good, and it looked like that had carried over to Exvius too.

He walked past one of the burning braziers lighting the outside, then walked back to it. Exvius spun his stave in front of the flames. "Fire!" Nothing happened. "Burn!" Nothing. "Ignite!" Nope. "Agi! Brisingr! Mega Fire! Giga Fire! Ember! Flamethrower! Pepper Breath! Fira! Firaga! Firaja! Flare! ULTIMA!" The flames remained unfazed. Personal objective: learn how TF magic works in this game. He continued walking as if he hadn't just been yelling at fire.

He spotted a party that only had three members, and two of them were girls no less. Emilia still wasn't sure how she felt about her male avatar, but it was always good to find other girls playing the same game as her. Oh wait, before she joined a party she had to first decide on what persona to give Exvius. Sweet-talking flirt with a flair for the dramatic? That was always fun. She got to constantly complain about the lack of girls who played games. Or maybe overly-excitable kid playing their first real game? Nah, that got tiring too quick. What about the cold silent type with a heart of gold? She hadn't played that one recently. Yup, she'd go with that one. Personality type: dandere activated.

So in no particular hurry Exvius walked over to the group and tapped his stave against the ground. "Might your group have room for one more?" He said in a tone that implied he wouldn't mind their answer either way. He met each person's eyes and bowed his head a bit in way of greeting. "My name is Exvius, role undecided."

Marcus

Marcus shifted slightly, unsure of how to exactly get his message across. Wait, if this game was able to replicate this much realism, perhaps he'd be able to hiss at best. Still, he was surprised by how talkative the girl with the staff was. Usually, there'd be some negative or hurtful remarks, but instead, she was trying to get him to speak up.

The other girl too, seemed to not get the message that he was mute. Trying again, he open his mouth but all that came out was a soft hissing sound. Seeing no other easy way, he tried to mime that he was mute, before using his staff to trace on the ground letters to spell out 'I am mute' and 'My name is Marcus'. Not wanting to be rude and feeling partially like a burden, he traces the word 'sorry' afterwards. He bowed to the two of them slightly before his attention turned to the other male character that approached them. Being mute, all he could do was bow in greeting, letting the female characters handle things.

Raiyan Faine- Axious

Axious nodded and let go of Janviers hand. It looks like Nocouos had recruited another new member as well which means they now had a party of six. Smiling he looked at the gear and faces of all the other players, he kinda felt sorry for the girl considering she was in a party with all guys, this was probably just for the tutorial so it shouldn't be to bad for her. That's right... this is only for the tutorial. he thought to himself. In truth Axious was hoping he could become friends with some of them and continue on in a party, if this game was suppose to be harsh then it was better to be in numbers.

"Well it looks like are party is full. Shall we go get our post from the elder? All in favor say Aye or raise a hand." He said as he raised his hand to show his approval of going to get their post. Honestly he really hoped they didn't get stuck with anything to dangerous, after all he didn't know how useful he would be in a fight.

Anthony Miwa/ Miwa

"Well it looks like are party is full. Shall we go get our post from the elder? All in favor say Aye or raise a hand." a voice blared in the middle of Miwa's group. Rising on his tiptoes, he looked past Nocous's shoulder, to see the owner of the voice. Was this their leader? The de facto chosen one to lead his party through this tutorial, where adventure and damsels in distress waited? Anthony had no qualms. If the boy had chosen a leadership role, he would do his best to follow him. With a flick of his hand, he raised his hand, to indicate that he was ready. With a cheerful voice, that slightly immitated the Spongebob opening, he spouted:

Aye, Aye. Captain.

Hopefully, that didn't came out completely cringey. In any case, he didn't care. Who gives a damn about public embarassment when VR adventures are just around the corner?

With a shrug, Ian nodded at the pair. "If Azure's cool with it, I'm cool with it." Glancing around the area, he began searching for new potential candidates; luckily for him, more seemed to fall right into his lap. Glad I went to support first, at least.

Sizing up the new arrivals, Ian nodded. "You'll do, yes, I think you'll do pretty nicely." There was no reason to worry; if the team didn't work out, he could always bail if he needed to. Though, he hoped it wouldn't have to come to that, these people seemed nice. This whole party recruitment thing had gone a lot smoother than expected, he had initially thought that it would take at least an hour to find people willing to work together. We're all here for the same reason, I guess.

Chuckling a bit as Miwa spoke, Ian raised his hand in the air. "Let's do this."

Mira considered Nyx's explanation while the guy struggled to speak, only producing a quiet hiss. It certainly seemed plausible, although she was still somewhat skeptical until he wrote it out for them. So he is mute. It technically made him a burden, but she refrained herself from saying that. It was just the tutorial, so his handicap shouldn't be too detrimental. She'd wait to see how good he was as a player before judging him.

A new player showed up with the intention of joining. Mira scrutinized the staff he carried with a thoughtful expression. So far their party would consist of three staff wielders and one hybrid. So much for team composition. Nevertheless she smiled and nodded. They needed a minimum of four members anyway. "Ex-vi-us." She said, sounding out the name. "Interesting name and welcome aboard too."

Azure stood in the back of the group. She was not one for much social interaction so she raised her hand for her vote to go to the elder. She waited for everyone else to give their input. Their group was full and that meant it should be about time to start their adventure. Azure walked up to Ian, which he was taller than Azure although the seemed around the same age. "D-do you mind if I stick near y-you?" she asked him shyly. She was not one for introducing herself multiple times, barely even once for that matter.

Axious smiled as he looked around at his new teammates. They didn't really have the best tam composition at the moment but that would hopefully change soon. Anyway now was the time to get their first postion and get this game started. "Alright then, lets go." he said as he turned around. Glancing over his shoulder to make sure the others were following him he walked up to the elder and sergeant. Suddenly he was hit by the realization that he had no idea what to do. "Umm... It was around 3PM when Oliver received his copy of the game. He'd heard it had been coming out, and that it was pretty realistic. So he took his chances, he bought the game and proceeded home. Catching a bus along the way. Upon reaching his home he quickly said 'Hello!' to his parents before racing up to his room. He put on the headgear as he lay in bed, waiting for something to happen.
“Welcome to Demon King Online. Please stay still while scanning procedures occurs.”
During this time, Oliver was completely still. He did not dare move a muscle while it was scanning, despite having excited shivers run down his spine as he waited in anticipation.

“Scan complete. Please state your name, desired age, and gender. All other status will be earned through your adventure.”
Oliver seemed to 'Hmm...' before choosing his name.

"Oliver Thorn, 14, Male." He told the computer, to be honest he was disappointed there were no starting races. He liked the buffs he got from playing different ones. As the new forms materialized he chose one that was slightly taller, maybe two inches, and had a bit more muscle than he had on at the moment but was still lean. But when he had crossed the female version he thought he'd looked pretty hot.
'10/10.' He graded in his mind. He imagined if he were a female and said that aloud he'd probably kill himself... wait, does that count as suicide? 'Stop thinkin' dumbass an' get to playin'!' He waited for the loading screen, which he thought was beautiful. The smell of burning wood hit him quite soon as the machine announced:

“You will be enrolled in the militia of a small village named Rushen. This village is on the outskirts of the kingdom of Ferdinam, one of the main human sieges of power in the world of Heim. Through your stay there, you will learn the basics of survival, combat and exploring in DKO. Please be aware that DKO is a combat-heavy game, and that the world you will enter will be harsh. Please be careful and kindly follow the lessons given to you during this tutorial. Good luck.”
"Damn. Wanted ta start off an assassin or somethin'... but tutorials are tutorials." He told himself, before seeing the scowling man who didn't seem to pleased to see him there.

“You there, recruits! Come over there and gather up!”
"Oh cool! Yer like a drill seargen'!" He smiled and gathered on up. "They can' understan' me can they?" He asked someone beside him, who didn't answer.
“Good! From now on you are part of Rushen’s militia. Be proud of your choice, but never forget that we’re protecting the village against savage monsters and foul demons. We must be prepared, and we must stick together! I want you to gear up, form groups of four to six soldiers, and line up before Elder Gelena for your assigned patrol area and guard shift. Be sharp, and keep an eye out!”
"Alroigh'! T'ss is badass! Also, befer anyone takes it, dibs on assassin class!" He called out, before looking around for anyone to group up with. "Who wan's ta group up with the fourteen year ol' 'ere?" He called out yet again, looking to his fellow militiamen.
“DKO is a realistic game, but you are allowed some privileges not found in a normal life. First would be the Inventory, a space of your own where you can stock up to twenty different items without burdening yourself. Please do not abuse this system, and do enjoy these privileges as they are meant to be; a gift. To see and interact with your inventory, simply think or say ‘Inventory’ and put any object you possess into one of the available spaces shown to you.”
"Will do compu'er lady!" He smiled and thought inventory, until it came up. He explored the spaces before closing the inventory and looking around. "Anyone wanna group up...?" He called out again. "Please? I uh... am not good at this kinda stuff jus' yet..." He muttered to himself, looking to those around him.

Alcide examined the various avatars standing before him, fairly surprised by the gender bent version the game had created. Al's eyes widened as he heard the voice speak to him, lost in the pure excitement of being in a world, unlike anything he'd ever known. He took a moment to send his thanks out to the world beyond the game.

Thank you sooo much for helping me find that job, Auntie! I owe you, like, a hundred ones for that! Well. After I'm done playing. Obviously. Sometime tomorrow. Yeah, sounds good. Okay. A name. right. that's easy enough.

"My name is A-"

His voice caught, and Alcide shook his head.

This wasn't his world. This wasn't going to be his story. Not
exactly his, at least. Walking up to the avatars, Alcide found one that stood slightly taller than his normal body and nodded with approval.

"Alright. Looks good, to start. My name is...Kuen. Phenex. Age 18. Male."

And as his new clothing formed on his body and the world turned to black, Kuen smiled, his heart racing in anticipation for a new adventure.

After receiving his orders from the guard, and The Voice's rundown of his current objectives, Kuen decided to test out his storage menu. Thinking of his inventory, the menu appeared before him, a bunch of empty squares waiting to be filled with treasures and artifacts of untold power. Kuen turned to where the guard motioned, and his eyes lit up at the selection of equipment before him. It may have been basic weapons and armor, but it was real...in a sense. It was for sure the closest Al -no, Kuen- had ever come to a weapon out of a fantasy novel, and it was quite the moment for him.

Looking at everything being offered to him, Kuen decided to grab the armor. After slipping into that, he picked up a sword, some of the herbs, and an unlit torch. He stashed the herbs in his inventory and hung both his sword and torch at his left side. With all that done...He just needed to find a group. Which seemed to be the most difficult part, as everyone seemed gathered into their teams already. Luckily, it seemed he wouldn't be left out all on his lonesome, as he noticed a party full of staff-wielding individuals. Unless they had intentionally handicapped themselves by creating such an imbalanced group, or simply thought the idea to be fun, he would fit right in. Walking over, he waved.

"Hey there! Looking good people! I like the uniformity you've got going for yourselves. Honestly, I hate to break it up, but I would really appreciate it if I could head out with you guys. That is, if you-"

Kuen paused. Looking back, he noticed a younger player glancing around much like he just had been. He closed his mouth for a moment, before turning back around.

" -if you don't mind? Also, the kid over there could probably be convinced to pick up a bow and arrow, if you're interested in having some ranged firepower in your corner."

Kuen pointed back towards the kid and smiled. "So. Whaddya say?"

Marcus himself was looking downwards, still unsure of how the other three would feel with him being a mute. Still, he was now considering to stay on for the game, just to experience more of it. His attention was brought towards another player walking towards them.

Biting his lip, he shifted slightly before nodding and pointing towards Exvius, Nyx and Mira. He wondered if this other player would just let things slide with him not vocally responding.

Koizumi Sora/Nyx

Eh? Everything moved kind of fast there, for a moment? I'm not even sure what happened? Nyx, not realizing it, had gone into daydreaming while several interactions took place. Sora had spent all of his sleep time writing last minute chapters for his web novels the past two days, and that apparently affected Nyx as well. I'll have to keep an eye out on that, then... Maybe it wasn't the best idea to get on in the middle of the night, without any sleep.

"We've reached max members..." Nyx looked around slowly, realizing that their party had quickly grown to it's maximum capacity during her phase-out. "Well, I guess since everybody came at different times, and my introduction has only been heard by two or three people here, I should introduce myself again." Nyx walked backwards a bit, to be out in the open and in front of the jumble that was her party. "My name is Nyx, and my play style is currently that of a hybrid focused on range. I have a bit of experience with these sorts of weapons in real life, so please feel free to rely on me when the time comes. Although, I'm a bit of a solo player, so I hope you don't mind my inexperience with cooperation. I'll make sure to cover all our weaknesses in whatever way possible, so hopefully this will go smoothly and we may all enjoy this experience." Playing the character the way she was written, Sora felt giddy. This is a bit embarrassing, but Nyx has always been my favorite. It's going to be enjoyable, bringing her to life. Although, I shouldn't forget my manners...

"I look forward to working with you all!" Nyx did a short bow before walking forwards, back to where she had been in the middle of the group.

Exvius looked over the guy who wanted to join the group, his dark eyes seeming to disprove of the new member. As this new person turned to face the two females and the mute - Emilia wasn't certain if the other male member of the group was actually mute or just role-playing as a silent character, but either way he showed no signs of breaking character any time soon - Exvius took the opportunity to sneak away. He made his way back to the where the starting equipment was laid out.

Without any call of warning a stave slammed end-first into the ground a foot in front of Nyx. Pretty much where he'd been aiming. Exvius grabbed another, lined up the shot, and launched it at the newcomer to the group. This time his aim was right on. He grabbed a third stave and made his way back to the group, stopping to drop off the weapon in the hands of the younger male player without a word.

Back with the rest of the group, Exvius just spun his own stave slowly around in his hand. "Team comps are overrated, staves op" was all he gave in way of an explanation for having forcefully delivered staves to all the members of the group that hadn't already taken one.
