How about this:
It is year 1994. An ancient pharaoh awoke in Egypt, in the Great Pyramid. He is, in fact, an evil vampire necromancer, so he revived his wives and servants as zombies then proceeded to invade Cairo.
There, he reigned for 10 years and held the city as his own, with many governments trying to subdue him for experimentation, but failed.
Eventually, in order to upstir a great war, the Vampire-Pharaoh revives Adolf Hitler as a Lich and Joseph Stalin as a Russian Demigod. The two begin World War III, while the Vampire-Pharaoh runs rampant and begins the conquest of South Africa. At the same time, Putin and Stalin have a duel, but afterward, they decide they're both Russian and should work together so they remake the USSR under the name: TNCC, which stands for 'TOTALLY NOT COMMUNIST COUNTRY,' which, surprisingly, doesn't fool anyone. Also, they have cyborg monkeys serving them, because WHY THE FUCK NOT?
Now, a team of people from all walks of life are being hired by the USA to liberate Cairo and bring down the Vampire-Pharaoh, Stalin, and Hitler and end WWIII. What no one knows is that aliens picked up the extraordinary amounts of bullshit going on with their 'Stupidity Sensors,' and arrived on Earth to use a Planet Buster Missile to destroy us, so they have to be stopped too.

I mean... I've got a fantasy roleplay up that's part of the one percent. It's dystopian.

I despise people that prefer these typical "teenagers with superpowers in a school XD," roleplays over something original. It's not malicious hatred I feel towards them, neither is it utter contempt. It's disgust by how tasteless some people can be. I detest and abhor them nonetheless.
When I see an academy roleplay, I just ignore it, but sometimes the urge overtakes me and I make the most original and out-of-bound character possible. What do I mean by that?
If it's a vampire roleplay, I'll make nosferatu. (Google it.)
If it's an academy roleplay, I'll make a bully. No, he won't have a good side. He won't be a 'jerk with a heart of gold.' He'll just be an asshole.
If it's a superhero academy roleplay, I will make a person that embodies manliness, or something very stupid, or one of those funny villains we ever see that never accomplish their goals and always fail.
If it's a roleplay about teenagers, I will make a muscular douche that embodies this song:

I want a roleplay that starts into the action a bit more. I get sick of rp's, especially fantasy and even school ones where all this introduction starts, and then everyone just quits.

Is this limited to fantasy? Last I checked, every tag is cram packed with academy set roleplays. I mean the majority of RP Nation's users are pre-grads anyway, so it doesn't really come across as a surprise.
