What exactly do you believe in?

My threads "What's your religion?" and "A serious question to atheists" became quite a hit. So here's my newest creation that is the sibling of said topics.

What exactly do you believe in?

Obviously, you must believe in something, anything. The claim to not believe in anything is a symptom of insanity, as not believing involves the possibility that you don't believe what your senses tell you, which is a pure form of insanity.

So obviously, you must believe in something, whatever that is.

I'll start...

I believe that my lucky number is 66, and that if I ever become a football player or basketball player, the number 66 in my jersey will carry me to victory! I also believe that when Armageddon strikes, I will become an appointed officer in the army of Jesus Christ and will command forces against the army of the devil...

I also believe that I have a female guardian angel who is way more attractive than even the most revered female celebrities on the globe. And she will fulfill all my desires...

I believe in the power of kindness, as evident in this picture of me donating a toy to toys-for-tots back in December of 2016.

So what about you? What do YOU believe in?

I believe in Jesus Christ and everything the Bible says.

Also aliens.

And when I decide to do existential "but what if" questions, I end up believing a lot of crazy, stupid things.

What I certainly don't believe in is humanity. I have no faith in it.

Same, minus the Alien part.

I believe in God as I believe in those I love dearly. I also believe in myself that no matter life's unexpected obstacles I will overcome them somehow someway.

I'm pretty sure we'd need to add a dab of Aryan supremacist ideals for another Adolf.

I'll put it this way...

A smart man will do research that will end up proving that his race, or clan, or peer-group is more superior to other races, clans, or peer-groups.

The smart man will justify killing the inferior groups with the use of sound logic.

Hitler...

On the other hand...

A smart man will do research that will end up proving that his race, or clan, or peer-group is more superior to other races, clans, or peer-groups.

His brain will tell him, "I'm better than them," but his heart will convince him, "We should all just get along."

That sounds more like a deluded supremacist to me, in all fairness.

A smart person - like Engineers, Doctors, Scientists, etc - will perform beneficial work. But not out of kindness, but because that's what we do; we progress.

Progression is more than just smart people building smart-like things. It also has to do people finding ways to make everyone's life easier.

For example, people no longer burn women alive out of claims of witchcraft or stuff like that. We're more civilized, more compassionate, gentler, because our heart became stronger and clearer.

Aaaaaand because the idea of witchcraft was just a load of folly

No it's not.

There IS such a thing as the supernatural. I know, because I've seen a ghost before. There IS such a thing as evil spirits, sorcerers, and devil worshippers. Believe me, they are out there and they exist.

And like anything in this world that is supernatural but has nothing to do with God or Jesus, they are of the devil.

That's a fact.

Please refrain from insulting other members. You asked for shared beliefs and yet you are arguing against them and calling others heretics.

As a Christian, I can confirm that Biblically, ghosts don't exist.
Demons impersonating, maybe. Ghosts, no.

Then what I've seen might have been a demon.

What made you say that? Are you a believer of the belief that the soul is an entirety of a person and not something separate from the body?

Anyway, I didn't hallucinate because at that time, there were a lot of us who saw it. Far away, in an empty building, a dark image of a moving person by the upper balcony.

(^joke, please don't be mad^)

Because you either go to Hades or Heaven as of right now. So your soul isn't coming back to haunt anyone.

See, that is funny. Reminds my of The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.

I was being funny! It was not meant to be taken seriously! lol!
I'm all for joking around, and even assumed it was meant to be. The problem is that this is a triggering topic and the last thing I want to happen is another argument happening and getting out of hand.

I demand that you stay and spout out your heretical beliefs, so I may mock them and make myself look superior compared to your puny intelligence.

Do it, or else.

Seems like you're dividing more people rather than demonstrating your love and tolerance for them.
Sure, some individuals out there would like to understand more about the beliefs that contradict them.
But there's a way about doing things and you've already made a controversial topic pertaining to religion.
Despite me having a belief that there is a possibility of a higher power, I do not push these notions onto other people.

Previously, your prior thread obtained a lot of discussions and plenty of those had several community members
arguing with one another. Since we cannot learn to accept one another for different ideologies, it's probably
best if we don't make discussions about religious/atheist/etc. Fable Fable Not sure if there's even any rules regarding
the subject at hand. All of us have joined this site to be united, not to be separated because
of trivial arguments, silencing someone isn't exactly an option that I believe in but all of us have the capacity
to debate something without resorting to harboring hatred for each other.

Let's all save our religious convictions for our status updates.
Either that or let's try to have the common decency to have respect
for our fellow human.
