Roleplay Type(s)

Things build. They’re always building toward the climax. Building, building, building until finally bam, it hits you head-on like a ton of bricks tied to a car on the front of a train – the climax, the turning point, the critical moment where nothing is ever the same again. People like to linearize it, pretend that there’s one major climax in your life. There’s hundreds, maybe thousands of ‘em in anyone’s life. But, none of them are quite as big as figuring out you have superpowers.

“Me? You’re putting me in charge?”

“You’re the only…”

“Go on. Go ahead. Say it. I want to hear it.”

“Super hero we have.”

“Argh. I’m not a super hero! I’m not any sort of hero. I’m a freak of nature. I used my abilities to steal bread! Heroes don’t steal bread.”

“Well, you’re not stealing bread anymore.”

When the city goes to shit and everywhere you look houses nothing but contempt, corruption, and greed, those that have been cursed with the burden of authority and ability must rise up to face their destiny. Having powers makes you special. Using them for the right cause makes you a hero...

And we are H.E.R.O.E.S.

Your typical hero team origin story sort of roleplay. I'm looking for a small group of 2-4 other people to play an interesting range of characters (including those without powers if you so wish). This is a detailed roleplay where replies will typically be 3+ paragraphs. But, quality is always preferred to quantity. I hope for this to be a long-term roleplay so I'd love to discuss plot details, character development, and pre-existing character relationships. Characters should be realistic, powers outlined along with weaknesses, and there shoud be no godmodding, Mary Sues, etc. I'm a little picky when it comes to RPing so the character approval process will be very selective. Not intending any offense to those that get denied, but I'm looking for people that are really strong writers. Let me know your comments, questions, and concerns!

This sounds amazing and I'd love to hear about what you look for in the selection process. I love creating characters, and if I know what someone is and isn't looking for, it makes it easier for me.

I am officially intrigued. I'm not the fastest poster in the world and I'm not quite sure what kind of pace you're hoping to keep. I'd love to be updated, though, on when you are accepting characters and whatnot.

No set lore, at the moment. I'll probably think something up soon enough.

Character sheets should include the basics (name, age, etc.) and powers/weaknesses at a minimum. The more thorough and well-written your CS is, the more likely you are to be accepted. The best characters have a solid background and set up the motivations for their actions and personality type.

As for pace, I'm okay with a slower pace IC to better develop character and plot without rushing into it but I'm on almost constantly so I'll be rather active OOC which I would love for fellow players to do as well. If possible, of course. I understand RL gets in the way sometimes.

I'll get a thread up soon for CS applications.

@RealisticFantasy  I'm not sure if I should ask here to keep the character sheet forum clean, or to ask there, but I like to usually Roleplay the heroes who sometimes go a little to far. Example is Damian Wayne. Sure he's Batman's sidekick, but he would kill if necessary.

So I basically like playing the darker heroes with morals that are a bit skewed due to their origin story as a hero.

Is that alright? If not, I can change it easily, I just don't wanna make a character like this only to have it not be what you're looking for.

That's totally fine so long as they're a reasonable person. If they don't go off the rails at the slightest thing, then I'm fine with it. I like there to be some variety in personalities. It'll cause some interesting conflict.

I have a character, but I am unsure if she'd be accepted. I need to flesh out the backstory a bit, as well as make her less pretty, but I think I like her, I'm just trying to figure out how to prettify (Make the post pretty) without breaking what I wrote to fit in the code.

I used to be great at BBcode but now that they switched it, I'm kinda useless when it comes to that.

This sounds pretty legit. Sadly I don't think I can do this type of rp right now, but the challenge sounds amazing.

This sounds strange, but could I create a character and see if it gets approved? I won't participate in the rp so anyone could adopt my character and use him/her.

Sure. I don't see any reason to say no  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is there a specific date set for when CS's need to be finished by
