yeah I always run into that problem!! as someone who rarely reuses characters, I can find myself writing very similar ones unintentionally lmao

Haha aye same here. Honestly though I don't see having similar backstories necessarily as a bad thing - as long as you're having fun and the backstory feels right for that character in the context of that RP, it's a winner in my book.

i just don’t want there to be two characters in the same rp that have very similar backstories, y’know? i mean it could be a good thing and a bad thing, i can see it be an interesting topic/interaction. but i think i’ve found a way to slightly switch it up so while it still has the same vibes as what i originally planned the sequence of events aren’t the same
 
okay,,, santiago is like 90% finished i just haven’t touched his back story… a mystery maybe? give a little one shot story…never done that before πŸ‘€
 
btw is there any lore you guys would want to see in particular? just wondering if there are certain areas I haven’t covered that could add clarity!

I mean more like what would you guys like to write now (i.e., before we start the rp) but I’ll keep these in mind cause they are some interesting concepts!!

so yeah, stuff like what’s already been posted in the lore thread!

Imma just spought out some questions that might help. If any of it’s been addressed I apologize! I’ve gotta do another read of everything. Or if you’d like to wait to answer them for some good ol’ ✨mystery✨, I completely understand.

So here it goes!

How long has the virus been in affect? Are we starting to see signs of it in hospitals? Has the government started to take any precautionary measures? Is there increased levels of security and whatnot? Or are we relatively caught unawares? Like it cropped up overnight? Did it start in Campton Falls? Or around the area?

The way it sounds so far is that the populace is just relatively oblivious to it. There might be warning signs but the media has kept it pretty hush hush as you said. But there’d still be some scary signs that something is happening right? Eye witness accounts from general civilians if this is an ongoing thing? Social media do be spreading news fast. And it's not 100% accurate but it paints a picture.

EDIT: Has it been spreading fast/slow?

Just some thoughts. I hope this helped. I’ll post some more if I can think of anything.

SIDE NOTE: If there is a hospital close, it might be interesting to see a character that works there. I might tackle the idea but I gotta admit, I’m not too medically inclined. xp

oo thanks for the feedback!! I think I’ve got a good idea for a lore post! might be more of an actual character post of a fellow nurse/doctor.

I’ve got a few ideas actually!! let me have a lil think and I’ll piece something together hehe.
 
i am STRESSING the details of roy's cs. haha. but i think i finally got it all done. like done done. cut out bits about his ailments and added to his proficiencies.

wip for jessie is posted. this is my first time writing for a hard-of-hearing character and i am learning SO MUCH. is good.
 
new lore is up! mind any errors, I quickly whipped this bad boy up.

while I hope this answers some questions, it does leave more questions hehe. does getting scratched by one make you become one or his calvin making a mistake? who knows? that’s for you guys to discover and for me to laugh evilly in the shadows.

one thing I will say: that lore post and the interest check are set on the day of the roleplay, aka the initial infection.

I’ll maybe provide one more lore post before applications are due (something government related I think)!
