Fantasy Supernatural Teenage Drama

Robin of Locksley submitted a new resource:

Supernatural Teenage Drama - Tensions run high in this school full of kids with supernatural abilities and powers.

In this school, drama can turn nasty and even deadly. What starts as light hearted fun can escalate when every kid there has a supernatural power or ability. Tucked away in the forests of New Hampshire, the school appears to everyone else to be an exclusive private academy. In reality, no amount of money can get you in. Only an ability beyond the grasp of most humans can.

Here, abilities range from telepathy to flying to shape-shifting. Not only do the kids take 'normal' classes, they also take classes based on their abilities. From Telepathy I to Advanced Elemental Control, classes cover nearly every power- even if there's only one kid in the class. It seems a fairly happy place, of course. The kids can be themselves here, without fear of backlash from ungifted humans.

But all is not well. Old rivalries bubble to the surface and new arrivals from all over the world stir things up. Outside the calm little forest, the world is becoming more aware of the gifted- and they just don't quite understand. And what humans don't understand, they fear. What they fear, they often seek to destroy.

Despite the young age of the school's inhabitants, they may very well end up on the front lines if a war arrives. But no one knows who the opposing forces in the world will be. Gifted and ungifted humans? Or will it be a war between the gifted?

The quiet forests surrounding the school were filled with lakes, beautiful cliff views, and hiking trails. But whereas the forest was quiet, the school within was anything but. It was a new semester at the boarding school, and with students ranging in age from babies to teenagers, chaos filled the hallways. Schedules had been passed out and the older students had a half hour before their classes started. Most were in the hallways or just outside the building, seeing old friends and catching up. Everything was as normal as it got at this school and fairly calm. Until a few of the kids started arguing...

"You must think you're hilarious," Ryder muttered, stuffing his bag in his locker. It wasn't even noon yet and a couple of horridly dressed preteen boys were already tossing cringe-worthy taunts in his direction. Normally, he could ignore the never-ending pests and carry on in his way, but seeing as this was the first day, the circumstances were different. Nonetheless, Ryder maintained a calm composure and shut his locker, shuffling past the deadbeat duo. There seemed to be a far more interesting quarrel developing farther down, anyways. As he brushed past the boys, his hand discreetly morphed into a blob of water which he dumped on them without haste. The brats had to know their place.

Miuna sat on a windowsill next to the scene of a growing argument, munching on a cookie while her left eye stared blankly ahead. Spirits sauntered around and through the students without their knowledge, conversing with each other and tossing an occasional wave towards Miuna. Despite the tales, these spirits looked just like normal people, aside from a slight blurriness along their outlines. The only certain way for Miu to to tell someone was a spirit was by seeing through her other eye, the one that couldn't see the deceased. At the sound of a shout, she snapped back to the living world, watching the participants without much interest. She didn't concern herself with others' problems, though she didn't mind observing interactions every now and then.

Alec stood near one of the windows, scanning his schedule. He groaned at his first period. As one of the most powerful shapeshifters the school had seen, he had been asked to help teach the beginning classes. He was happy to help, but didn't want to deal with the younger children first thing in the morning. Stuffing his schedule back into his pocket, he headed down the hallway, towards the lower grade classrooms. Before he could get there, Alec ran straight into a small pack of teens, all starting to yell at each other. He started to walk by until he heard the argument. "You only side with them because you can hardly do anything! Why would any powerful person want to help the ungifted?" One kid spat. Alec sighed and stopped reluctantly. Arguments of this sort were forbidden after all the trouble it had stirred up two years ago.

Pushing his way into the middle of the argument, Alec glared at the younger kids. "Shut up, both of you. Wanna get kicked out of here?" Alec knew that almost no one would ever get kicked out of this place, seeing as they didn't have many other options. "Get to class. Or I'll tell your brother about this," he said to one of the kids. Alec's lip curled, and he let out a small snarl, the sound that of a wolf. The sound ended the protests and they slowly trudged away. Alec shook his head and headed to the lower levels. He was helping one of the professors with the Shapeshifting I class, which had mostly grade school level children.

Jackie leaned against her locker, sipping her coffee. She was contemplating just ditching her morning classes- it wasn't like they were doing anything important. All her "special" classes were in the afternoon. She laughed as she saw a relatively cute boy dump water on a couple of idiots. Shrugging her messenger bag back onto her shoulder, she started walking towards her first class- might as well, nothing better to do. Then Jackie heard the word "ungifted" shouted across the hallway. She spun around- no one's supposed to bring that subject up here, not at this school- and saw a bunch of younger teens shouting at each other. Jackie stepped forward to stop them before something really bad happened, but stopped when she saw a tall guy step in and yell at them. Wait, wasn't that, uh, what's his name. Alex? Alec? Jackie remembered he was a really powerful shapeshifter, in any case. Her eyes followed him as he dispersed the group, and headed towards the lower level of the school.

After the break, Liam was glad to get back to school, that is, until he tripped and fell down when he was too entranced by his schedule. He heard snickers coming from behind him and looked around to reveal an out of place vine that was quickly retreating back into the ground. As he stood up quickly and brushed himself off, he grumbled something about the nature elementals not being respectful enough, but no one heard him.

He went over to pick up his schedule which had fallen to the ground and now lay under someone’s foot. He leaned down to grab it and when he realized it was stuck there, let a small lightning bolt into the person’s shoe. Liam chuckled as they leapt away allowing him to grab his schedule with ease. He straightened himself, and made his way to an abandoned classroom down the hall, so he could get situated with being back to school and take a good look at his schedule in peace. He was not looking forward to all the new kids exploiting their powers freely for the first couple of months which happened every year.

Rob walked toward his class, he was one of the few in the super strength class. They mainly taught him to not lose his cool with the ungifted so he wouldn't hurt them. Thats what he wanted, he wanted to help the people who couldn't help themselves, why would they not do that? The school had been more vocal since the news on them came out. He frowned, he hoped it would never turn violent. He would always help his friends, but only if they were defending themselves, not if they were aggressors.

Robby was bigger than most of the other students, and he was very intimidating in his armored form, so most people tried not to make him mad, however not many knew Robby was reluctant to use his powers outside of school.

Aaron walked towards the school with her arms folded acrossed her chest she was nervous to be here even though she shouldn't be. She walked in through the entrance Passing a couple of guys talking she kept her head down trying to keep a low profile. Aaron pulled out her schedule walking over to her locker and placing her things inside and replacing them with school things. She walked down the hallway seeing those guys again she couldn't help but blush because you know they were cute. She stopped at the end of the hallway taking a deep breath hoping nobody would recognize her but even though none of her friends even go here.

Ryan rolled around outside on his skateboard dodging the various students, "Excuse me...thank you". Some students attempted to make obstacles for him to smash into, roll over, fall into, and etc.. "Nice try...Hold onto that cup!" Ryan said as he ollied over someone's super long outstretched arm on the ground and tightened the other person's grip onto his cup. Once Ryan landed back on the ground, he turned back to see the young prankster's arm recoil and smack the other student's cup. Ryan smiled a little as he continued riding forward. He eventually made it to the doors and picked up his board. The teen looked around and decided to put the board in the bush since he probably wound not find any other place to put it in. Ryan turned back around and quickly observed the people outside. There were no accidents, spills, or arguments caused by his ride. He turned to face the doors again, then walked inside.

Alec glanced back over his shoulder as he headed down the stairs, catching sight of a redheaded girl watching him. He winked at her before disappearing into the lower levels.

Alec wandered the hallways, killing time before he had to be in Shapeshifting I to help the professor. Most of the kids were already in their classrooms for orientation. But as he turned a corner, he heard someone sniffling- crying. His eyes softened as he found the little girl. Crouching down, he asked, "Are you lost?"

The girl couldn't have been older than six. She stared up at Alec with wide eyes and slowly nodded.

"What's your name? I'm Alec," he said gently, holding out his hand. "Let's get you where you need to go."

"I- I'm Anna," she stuttered, tentatively taking his hand. "'M supposed to go to Elemental Control, I think."

"Well, Anna, that's just down here. Come on." Alec remembered how intimidating the building could be and how easily he had gotten lost the first year.

Miuna finished her cookie and hopped off the sill, tucking her books to her chest as she looked for her first class. Thanks to years of self-study, she no longer had to take most of the normal classes and could instead focus on developing her powers. Skirting around the crowd of students, she made her way to the other side of the building, where she would be taking Energy Conversion 3. As she passed the entrance, she momentarily drifted off into the spirit world and smacked straight into a guy who had just entered. Blinking a couple times, Miu stared at the guy in surprise. "Sorry," she apologized softly, examining him with interest. She had yet to make any close friends, though most people in school knew her as an softspoken, yet odd individual.

Ryder jogged towards his class, checking the time. He still had a bit before he had to hurry, but it didn't hurt to pick your seat beforehand. Fixing his beanie, the teen made his way to homeroom, Calculus. He hated it, but at least he had more exciting classes in the afternoon. With a sigh, Ryder dropped his books onto a desk near the side and sauntered back out, looking around for someone to talk to.

Aaron walked down the hall where there was stairs a kid came stumbling down...he's cute she thought to herself. then sat on the stairs pulling out her sketchpad and began to draw. She drew someone standing at the edge of a cliff looking at the horizon. A smile appeared acrossed her lips looking down at the paper. She looked up seeing the kid who had raced down the talking to some girl she smiled then looked back down at the paper pulling out her colored pencils and began to color the piece.

Once Ryan entered the school, he was greeted with a smack, "Woah...". He looked at the girl, "It's okay". Ryan usually saw her walking around and drifting into her own world. He scanned the hallway for a clock. There was still time until his class would start, "So...Miuna right? How was your break?" Ryan stayed aware of his surroundings as he noticed little kids arriving earlier than usual due to their "excitement". He quickly glanced at his schedule then looked across the hall. His gaze focused back on Miuna as he waited for her to respond.

Robby walked around the corner and saw Jackie. He had a crush on Jackie, but he had never talked to her. He was incredibly shy even though he was generally liked amongst most of the students. He walked past her still not saying anything and walked up the stairs toward his classroom. He opened the door and set his stuff down and turned into his armored form. He was one of the most senior strength students and he would have the fun job of intimidating the young ones who came in. Typically they were so cocksure of themselves because they had been dealing with the Ungifted. He would be putting them back in their places.

Liam, after looking at his schedule for a couple minutes, realized he had to get to his “meteorology” class, something he didn’t remember signing up for since most of his academic credits were done, but he must have been placed in so he wouldn’t have too many off periods. He shrugged his shoulders and heaved his messenger bag over his should and made to exit the class room, realizing that people would be starting to come in for class. He exited the classroom, pausing to look for the annoying plant group, but didn’t see them. Quickly he made his way to a different wing of the school where he arrived to his class with a couple minutes to spare, realizing with a touch of pride, that he was the first one there. Liam decided to take a seat in one of the middle rows, and pulled out a blank notebook.

Aaron looked up noticing another kid traveling he had ran into a girl she laughed slightly finishing up her drawing She stood up and placed it inside the binder along with other pieces of work she's done in the past. Aaron stretches and walks over Ryan and tapes his shoulder looking up at him.

"Hey do you know where the class for Telepathy is?" she asks scanning his face with a smile acrossed her lips.

Ryan looked at his shoulder and took the tape off, "I believe it is...down the hall third door to your right". He thought for a moment noticing that he's never seen her before, "Are you new, or have I just never seen you around here?" The teen stepped away from the door to avoid being rammed into other students. What was his first class anyway? Ryan only knew the room number but chose to surprise himself and not look at the class subject. If he needed books then he could easily speed off to get the right ones.

Aaron scanned his face and smiled then nodded "yeah i am, just moved here" she spoke gripping onto her binder tightly looking up at him. "I'm Aaron" she adds smiling holding out her hand. Aaron was usually very outgoing so it wasn't hard for her to interact with people better than others do usually. "Thank you for telling me" she spoke looking around the area.

Miuna didn't get to answer before another girl hopped in. "Hello," she greeted, holding out her hand for the girl to shake. "I'm Miuna." She seemed pleasant enough, not to mention cute. "It was alright," she answered the boy, holding out her other hand for him to shake. "I didn't leave the school." Miu noticed a small cut on the guy's arm and shuffled through her small satchel, producing a bandage and holding it out for him. "What's your name?"

Ryan smiled, "Welcome Aaron. I'm Ryan" he replied shaking Aaron's hand then shaking Miuna's hand. "Ryan" He said again to Miuna. The teen never really talked to her so he understood how she did not know him. His eyes shifted to the bandage, "Thanks". Ryan took it and put it over the cut. Where did the cut come from? Ryan thought back and decided to think that it came from one of the obstacles he chose to dodge earlier while skateboarding. He was normally pretty observant of his surroundings since he usually moved a lot more faster than the other students.

Aaron turned to face Miuna "hi" she muttered giving a smile as Miuna said her name. "I'm Aaron" she spoke scanning her face taking her hand and shook it. "nice to meet you" she adds running a hand through her blue/purple hair holding on to her binders hoping they wouldn't fall then looks up at Ryan again. "and also nice to meet you to ryan" she says looking up at him then at Miuna

"Nice to meet you, Aaron." Miuna shuffled through her bag again, pulling out a couple of sugar cookies and handing one to each of them. This was normal behavior on her part, though they may not know it yet. Giving people things, coming to class two hours late, falling asleep in the middle of a presentation- the teachers were used to it. "Which classes are you guys taking first?" she asked, nibbling on a cookie.

Aaron smiled biting into the cookie smiling "aww thank you" she mutters then looks at her schedule "well i thought i had Telepathy" she laughed placing it back in her pocket scanning her face with a smile across her lips.

Ryan heard a weird tick then looked at the clock. Did he just hear a clock's hands switch from one minute to another over twenty feet away from them? He looked back to find a cookie in his hand, "Oh thanks again". Ryan bit the cookie then responded, "I don't know. Time to find out though since class is about to start". He heard the clock's hands switch again and he blinked a couple of times, "I'll see you both later". Ryan began to make his way to whatever class he had first. The clock's sounds kept sounding through his head.

Miu waved him farewell as he walked off and then turned back to Aaron. "You should hurry, too. Good luck," she called as she started down the hall to her first class. It was next to the Telepathy class, but was far smaller due to it's lack of students willing to take the risk of using that particular power. It was an extremely dangerous subject, though. One could turn solar energy into a nuclear blast if they weren't careful. Miu only took it as a prerequisite course for another class she wanted to take, but that didn't make it less fun.
