Zombie Apocalypse IC

Remington & Barrett

"Y-yeah..." Remington muttered meekly, her efforts felt so meager. She wished she could have done more; she wished she could have saved them. Her mind snapped back to present matters as her brother called out to them. Blake went ahead to give Daven a hand, but it was Noelle and Eric who drew Remy's attention. She came over and crouched near the weakened man and watched him prep the area for cauterization. The next few moments weren't going to be pretty and Remy somewhat winced as she saw Lucy freeze up at the sight. "I got him... Here, haus... bite down." Remy found a healthy branch and snapped off one of its shorter limbs. She cleaned it off and placed it in Eric's mouth, then circled behind him to grab his arms and hold them back; using the stump between them for leverage. "Do it, Elle!" Remy grunted and held fast.

Meanwhile Daven took his position as Blake coasted the door, and counted down. Like clock work, Blake took the door down and entered with a practiced sweep, and Barrett covered him. Just as the door came down, Barrett caught a voice calling out. Once Blake was inside, the towering red head peered around him and caught the figure of  a young man in the corner of the dimly lit living room. "Whoa-- Hey Blake, easy man. We're not here to hurt anyone, so just stay calm, okay? Our friend is hurt, we need a safe place to patch him up." Barrett presented the statement as a fact and not as a notion asking for permission. Whether the boy wanted them there or not, they were staying; and he could either fight them and end up hog tied, or stay calm, and help them get out of his hair faster. "Psst Remy! Bring 'em in." Barrett called back to the group outside; not caring to waste any time. His rifle was slung in to ready position should the kid try anything stupid. "Come out where we can see you---"

Blue orbs turned back to Eric, as he shifted, calling her by that nickname she hated so much. Her nose crunched up, but still managed to let out a smile, her hands never stopping. "Hey...welcome back." The cloths soaked on red, and her fingers were starting to stain crimson, and she knew she needed to do something else. Eric knew it, and she knew it...but still, the medic bit her lip. "Let me do my job. I got this." Noelle hissed, her hands working quick, fingers once again locating the femoral artery, and applied pressure. If direct pressure didn't work, apply indirect pressure. The steps repeated on her mind, but there was a little nagging at the back of her brain. They were running out of time. "Cauterizing could cause more damage than good." the medic protested. "A tourniquet could..." she trailed off, already taking his belt from his hands and tightening around his leg.

Noelle knew that sometimes Eric's and her techniques clashed...he had trained on the field, while she had trained at the hospital, with the necessary tools and supplies and personnel. She hesitated for a mere second, before cursing under her breath, turning to look at Remy for a second, nodding.

"Don't let him move, Rem."

She took the lighter and the metal rod, giving the soldier a leveled look.  "Hold in there, soldier." Taking a deep breath -making sure the metal was hot enough, but not too hot- Noelle pressed the metal to the wound for a second. The wound sizzled, and the smell made her stomach churned, but Noelle's face kept stony, focused. All doubt and hesitation had disappeared the moment she took the lighter in her hand, knowing she needed to do this. She had to. And she had. The bleeding stopped, and the woman could finally let out the breath she had been keeping.

"Come on...let's bring you inside. Could you help me, Remy?" Noelle swung his arm over her shoulders, propping him up, waiting for the redhead before starting to move. She heard Daven and Blake moving inside the cabin, and she couldn't wait to get out of the woods. Having a roof above their heads...away from any Walkers.

A tight grip was on the handle of his combat knife when a stranger burst through. Although Kyler wasn't very surprised at the door being broken down, the redhead's ... diplomacy about the situation was appreciated. He expected a more aggressive attitude, especially in these times. "Don't worry, I'm not looking for trouble myself." The white-haired male put his hands up beside his head and walked into a better view. "As long as you guys aren't here to kill me and steal my shit, I'm fine with whatever," he said with a chuckle. Most would say he was being to open and trusting in this situation, but that wasn't nessecarily the case. He was watching them carefully, even the ones coming in with the wounded man that the read-headed male mentioned. He's been in situations like these, and most of them turn sour after a short while. He just wanted to stay cautious about this.

Lucy kept her focus on watching the perimeter to avoid vomiting from the medical work being done on Eric. She just hoped that they'll be able to rest for a little while soon. For once in a long time, she was scared of what was going to happen to them from this point on. How were they even going to recover from this?

When Noelle was done and starting to carry Eric inside with Remy's help, Lucy followed behind, still looking out for any threats that might show until they were inside.

Remington & Barrett

It was somewhat funny to Remington how scorched human flesh smelled somewhat appealing. It reminded her that man and animal weren't too far apart, and each being's main objection was survival. --and this situation was no different. Remy could hear her brother's level voice addressing someone inside the house; but he beckoned for her and she drew her steely eyes away from the doorway when it all calmed down. Returning her attention to Eric and the Doctor who was struggling to prop the hefty soldier up. Remington took his other arm and shifted the man so a majority of his weight would be on her and not Noelle. Remy was much sturdier then most of the women in their group and most of the time she could be found filling plenty of the heavy lifting roles. She helped the pinkette towards the cabin, and drug the wounded soldier in over the threshold of the entrance way. She didn't bother paying attention to the boy pinned down by Blake's deadly aim. The men had him easily handled. "I'll go look for some medicine or pain killers," Remington uttered to Noelle and then shot off to explore the rest of the house.

Barrett on the other hand kept a steely gaze settled onto the boy. "Just relax, dude; this will all be over soon. --You here alone?" There was a dark look in Barrett's eyes. The words coming from his mouth echoed memories of his former days cornering, robbing and killing small fry scavengers like this. If Barrett had been alone --truth be told he probably would have done the same thing, but his group had no idea how deep his darker intentions ran. So for now he continued calmly and collected. He scanned around the room for any signs of others beyond the one young man. Food scraps and some blankets and pillows spread about signaled that others had once used this house but the veil of dust over most of everything in the house hinted that it had been some time since a large group had crossed through here. The young man most likely had been alone all this time. "What's your name?" Barrett asked, now removing a cigarette from a crushed up box and lighting it with his zippo.

(I am resetting where Shayla is and what she has done to try and bring this rp back.)

As Shayla trudges through the forest she comes across a clearing. She had to be close to the city now and she still had no idea how far away she was actually chased. This was ridiculous and she was pissed. She takes a deep sigh and walks into the clearing.

Lets figure out where the hell I am..

She thought while crossing the clearing and heading back into the forest. Leaves and sticks crunched under her boots as she continues to trudge through the forest. It seemed to never end.

Damn I didnt bring much equipment..

She thought with a sigh. Shayla thought about ways to get back to her shelter and ways to figure out where she was. During her daze of thinking she stumbled upon a sort of plane or something that had crashed.

"What the... Anyone alive?"

She sighs while pulling her pistol from her belt. There could be people here who were turned.

He Turned his head to the New voice, forgetting about the other person nearby. He had to Somewhat push himself up a little so he could speak properly, grunting a bit.

"Hello? Who Else is Out there?"

He looked around, Worrying that his Fellow Soldiers might turn soon.

"I Need help out of this Wreck, We hit a Radio tower while taking off while being chased by Some Zed... Not much happened after that besides Crashing..."

He Looked around the Crashed osprey, Seeing the pilot, Who Was Pinned in between the The Seat and The Crunched up Nose of the Osprey begin to start slightly moving.

If hes turning their turning Soon.

"Look, If you Help me Out of here, I'll let you take any of their weapons, and or gear, I just want my things, And my life..."

Shayla slightly jumps as she hears a voice of a man. She half expected everyone to be dead and already bitten.. Maybe this just happened.

"Well who the hell are you how did this even happen?"

She asks rather harshly. She hated people. She continued to listen as the man spoke and followed his voice to where he was.

"Look buddy your arent in a position to negotiate and if I wanted any of your fellow peoples crap I would just take it. Now for you, what moron only put gauze on that thing."

She rolls her eyes at the incompetence. Shayla kneels down in front of the man and peeks under the gauze.

"Damn you were impaled pretty badly."

(exactly how big is this wound?)

She says and sighs.

"Look im pretty pissed off and I dont have much equipment on me. I can't exactly help you with no medical equipment, so where is the person who did this very basic treatment to you?"

She asks.

(Wound is About 4 Inches Across, and 3 Millimeters In width [Due to it closing on it self.])

He Looked at Her as she Approached, And Watched as She went on talking about his wound, quietly hissing as she lifted the guaze.

"I'm Sergeant, Bernard... 74th Recon Battalion... Bravo-2... and I have no clue where the Brother and sister went..."

He looked around the Osprey. remembering the medic that had the med-kit is dead, and the pilot is moving a bit more.

"There is no formal med-kit in this VTOL due to the apocalypse..., and the medic became a human happy meal about oh I don't know... depending on how long ago this crashed... I'd say 30 Minutes ago., and he is the reason we are talking right now. And I know where his Body is, along with the long range radio."

He Looked over to the pilot as it tried to push its self out of the mangled wreck that is the cockpit.

Noelle nodded in thanks to the red haired huntress as she helped with Eric. The sudden dead weight almost made the medic's knees to buckle, and her eyes turned to look at the soldier, now unconscious. "Dammit... Stay with us, Eric. You are going to be all right." Words left her lips, but her mind was going through all the possibilities, and the urgency to find some medication, specially antibiotics. Together, Noelle and Remy were able to pull him inside the house, and as Remy lowered him to look for supplies, Noelle dragged the unconscious body closer to the old mattress and pillows inside the house. Her blue eyes turned to Bear, to Blake, to Lucy...and then to the stranger on the other side of the room, none moving. A standoff of some kind, it seemed.

"Guys..." Noelle spoke up, raising her hands, showing she wasn't unnarmed. "We have to barricade. Let's just push aside our difference for the moment, and just work together, yes?" she then turned to the white haired stranger. "I am Noelle. Sorry for the sudden barging in, but..." she nodded towards Eric. "It has been a difficult day." A sigh escaped her lips, the weariness finally settling in on her shoulders, as she brushed stray threads of hair away from her face. Her gaze looked out the window, noticing the trail of smoke rising over the treeline, a thought crossing her mind. "The crash site..." she mumbled, mostly to herself. "There might be supplies there. Maybe some medical kit? Eric could use some antibiotics..."

She turned to look at the people around the room, before making up her mind. "I will check it out. Someone care to come?"

Remington

Remington went about turning the bathroom upside down to find anything of use. Unfortunately the bathroom had been ransacked down to it's last square of toilet tissue. She grumbled into the dirty and smeared mirror; at least there were plenty of sheets around the house to turn into bandages but no such luck on medicine. Defeated she resurfaced from the bathroom wielding an old and worn plunger. "No meds... not even a drop of alcohol--- Sorry, Doc." That was when the doc mentioned a crash site and possible supplies there. She could hear the determination in the doctor's voice. Noelle was going to go whether someone went with her or not. Remy grunted and winced, she didn't want anything to do with a loud crash; especially if it meant having to wade through a horde, but there was no way in frozen hell that she was going to let Noelle leave on her own. "I'll come with...--T-to watch your back." She blurted out and then stuttered lightly at the sound of eagerness in her own voice. She headed towards the door and peered up at the sky just outside. "Gonna start gettin' dark soon... We need to get a move on-- Lucy you wanna come with? Or you stayin' to help the guys board this place back up?"

Blake "B.B." Balkin

Blake looked the young man in front of him over as Barrett talked to him. Blake could see that he was unarmed and with the whole group here even if he did have something hidden away on him he wouldn't be able to get away with it "You guys got him I'm going to go and give the place a once over." He lowered his pistol as he moved away and disappeared down the hallway There wasn't much to the old place. The hall quickly gave way to the kitchen and then the back door. Blake began to move some of the old furniture over toward the back door to barricade it from any wandering undead while also keeping an eye open for any possible supplies that the group could use.

The Kitchen yielded little in the way of useful supplies so Blake turned back and went back to the group that was carrying Eric in. He was unconscious but alive for now. They needed to find something to patch him up before sickness set in. Blake went back to securing the house while Remington scavenged for supplies but to no avail it seemed. He came back to the group just as they were talking about going out to the crash site and immediately his gut clenched. "I'll go with you as well. After today I'm not leaving anything to chance."

"Well pleasure to meet you sergeant."

She says slightly sarcastically. To her his ranking meant nothing. There was a freaking zombie apocalypse happening.

"Well im trained enough to know you need to be stitched up but I don't have a needle or thread or some alcohol to do so. I do however have the materials to make a fire and can cauterize  that wound of yours- wait whats that noise?.."

She says and walks over to the noise, she sees the turn pilot and grumbles. She raises her pistol and shoots it right through the head with no hesitation.

"How many others have been bitten on this thing. I dont wanna be zombie chow."

She asks with a yawn while walking back over to Bernard.

He watched as she got up and  headed towards the cockpit, Watching her shoot the pilot.

"GREAT! Let's just alert every zed in the 20 mile radius there's Another reason to come here! Not even going to use a knife or something quiet, like a surprised weapon like every soldier in this osprey has?!"

He looked at the other soldiers in the osprey. Knowing, anything they had couldn't help him. Hell, he was stuck in a helicopter, barely able to move.

"I don't know who else is bit on here, I didn't even know he was bit. I provide Overwatch for any scavenger groups, and half the time they were inside."

"Now who said I didnt want to attract them?"

Shayla sighs. Why must everyone jump to conclusions so quickly.

"Now lets get you out and fixed. But seriously dont doubt me again or i'll leave you here. I help people I can but thats by choice. Call me cruel and that's right."

Shayla grumbles and takes her pack off. She had to work quickly, they'd come soon and she needed to get rid of them and rather fast.

Remy led the group into the thicket of the forest. She was at home here having been a hunter from a very young age. Her ears were sharp and could distinguish the sound of every foot fall, branch snap or brush rustle. So far most walkers were still a good way off, but they were slowly meandering closer; forcing Remy to maneuver the group around troublesome groups that had come trailing in towards the crash.

"We have to work fast... These ones are gettin' too curious for my likin'..." The redhead uttered as she trudged forwards but glanced at the shambling corpses becoming caught on low hanging branches as they slowly and sluggishly pursued them.

Blake and Noelle flanked her sides, while Lucy and Barrett had been left to watch the cabin and the 'new face'. She wasn't worried about them; knowing her brother could handle himself. She was more worried about Blake and Noelle who were both mentally beat. Picking up the pace she tried to close distance to the crash site before hunger and fatigue settled in. --But she halted in her tracks when a loud gunshot echoed through the stillness of the trees. She cast a suspicious glare back at Blake who returned the knowing look.

"Someone's alive... You think someone actually survived that crash?" Her green eyes trailed over to Noelle; the only medical knowledge in the group.

"Should we press on or turn back?" Remington asked Blake this time knowing they always weighed the risks versus the rewards better as a team.

Focusing on Remy's back kept her thoughts from wandering into unwanted places. The huntress seemed so focused on their surroundings, on every little movement and every twig snapping, on every shadow just behind the trees...she was their eyes and their ears. Noelle needed to keep busy. She knew she needed to keep moving, or she'd find a hole to collapse and cry in. The day had gone from bad to worse, and the medic knew she'd buckle under the weight if she didn't keep herself busy. Finding supplies would do. Finding anything at that crash site would do. Her gaze turned to Blake momentarily, and the pinkette bit her lip. He was probably going through the same. They needed to be distracted...more him than anyone. So, when he had volunteered to come, Noelle hadn't protested. She hadn't said it would be better for him to stay at the cabin and look out for more hunters or scavengers. Instead, she had looked at him and nodded...no more words leaving her lips. Not right now. Not when they needed to pretend this was a regular supply run. Like all the others they had done before.

What she hadn't been expecting, though, were gunshots. The thundering noise bounced off all the tress and foliage, and the medic froze in place, her senses sharpening. "Looks like it..." Noelle answered to Rem with a shrug, as she bit her lip, expression thoughtful. Was it worth it ? Continue going forward and risk meeting scavengers? Or a horde? What if there weren't any supplies at all? What if they were walking towards their deaths right now? Blue irises look at green ones, and then turned to look at Blake...asking what he thought. They wouldn't move if they couldn't agree. "What if there's someone there? Someone hurt?" It wasn't her problem really. Even if at the back of her head she felt bad for just considering abandoning someone who needed help... she couldn't trust just about anyone. She couldn't leave her family open to attack in an attempt to help a stranger. And yet...the little voice nagged at her.

She took a step forward, but turned back to look at the cabin's direction...and then back to the direction of the smoke.

(He just physically cant stand up, with out anything to help him that is, and the nearest rifle he could prop him self on to get him up is on the other side of the osprey.)

"I'm just trying to say, this crash already attracted enough attention, a gun shot would bring more, possibly even more people. it's not like I can stand my self up and walk out of here."

He needed something to prop him self up on, or use like a cruch, possibly a rifle would work. It would have to... More and more this person started to annoy him, from the attitude from when she walked in, and her just shooting a zed, that couldn't even move, not quietly either, his patience began to die out, soon they would start to share the same attitude.
