After being shoved onto the train, your character discovers that it holds a rather elegant demeanor inside, rather than its brash and haunting exterior.
Your character is offered drinks, meals, snacks... Anything you desire, is graciously handed to you on a silver platter. All of this is only because it pities you. So think of this as The Last Supper.
The train takes you through an invisible portal that hops from place to place to avoid being found.
After experiencing some major turbulence, you are grabbed by the staff members and quite literally thrown outside. You and the others first see an old, wooden train stop, and look around some more to discover you're in a wasteland, complete with fallen buildings and spooky fog.
What you do not expect is the beasts that roam the land. Your job is to gather enough information about them as you can and survive with your new friends. Or enemies. That's up to you.
