One Thousand Club
|Abigail Marie Davenport|
Abigail gave a slight eye roll at Pierce's comment about enjoying the view. She thought he would've grown up a little bit over the years, but as always he proved her wrong. When Alex spoke to her, Abby breathed a sigh of relief. She nodded at Alex's question. "Yeah, Derek's on the case...well you know him at DA Miller, but yeah. The guys that hurt you guys will be going away for a long time." she told her with a smile. This was the part of the job that Abigail loved, justice. Especially since involved her friends, she was going to make sure that those guys never saw the light of day again. The heart monitor began to beep faster and Abby was about to try and calm her down when her phone went off. Abigail saw an expression she hasn't seen in a long time from her best friend, it was like they were back in high school. Hearing an unfamiliar name, she gave Alex a very confused look and glanced over at Cole, curious if he knew who he was talking about.
However, Alex motioned for her to sit. Abigail took a slow, couple of steps, sitting on the edge of her bed. As Alex explained, Abby felt her jaw drop. "A- a daughter? You?" she stammered. She was absolutely speechless. What was she supposed to say? Alex was the last person that Abby expected to get knocked up. Seeing how happy her daughter made her, Abby's confusion faded into a soft smile as Alex looked up at her. She shook her head, "then it's not a mistake." she said softly as she took a tissue and handed it to her. Abigail reached out and gently hugged Alex, as not to hurt her. She had a couple of questions but Cole spoke. Abby looked up at him, skeptically and couldn't tell if he was really as happy as he said he was. "Wh-" she was about to ask who the father was when the rest of the group came rushing in, so she decided to stop and figured they'd continue talking about it later.
Abigail stood up and stood back, standing near the window leaning against the wall. She made brief eye contact with Cole after he made the comment about Adam not getting arrested. Yeah, Cole. I said something and no, I didn't get a thank you. It was with that thought that she fully realized that she was forcing something that Adam didn't care about. Her eyes fell to her feet, maybe she should just stop helping him. Abby kept her gaze downward. She had finally stopped lying to herself. Adam never cared about her feelings or her, so she doesn't care about him now. Call it even.
It was weird to be back with these group of friends from high school. She isn't the same girl she was back in high school, but she felt the need to be around them. It was like a switch was flicked, but Abby was fighting the urge. She isn't little miss. perfect, not anymore.
