Appearance

William stands 6'2", with an athletic and broad-shouldered build. His eyes are a steely shade of gray and he keeps his hair relatively close-cropped, with thick stubble along his jawline.

Personality

William is reserved and soft-spoken by nature and something of an altruist at heart. Though not outgoing in the traditional sense, he is warm and protective of those that he has accepted into his "inner circle". He has a deep sense of empathy for the children at the hospital -- due in no small part to his own past experiences -- and sees it as his duty to do everything in his power to make their stay at the hospital more manageable, whether that means providing a safe environment for them or a shoulder to lean on and ears to listen.

Position

Security Guard & Paramedic/ER Tech

Bio

William was born in Atlanta to a teenage girl with no support system capable of caring for herself, much less her newborn son. Left with little choice, she gave up the infant and Will was placed in the care of the state. He spent the first thirteen years of his life bouncing between different group homes and foster families all over the state. He did well in school both academically and athletically, but had frequent disciplinary issues. After a short stint in juvenile hall, a family finally showed interest in permanently adopting him. Before long, Will was brought into the Hendrix home. He assimilated quickly into his newfound family, his disciplinary troubles quickly evaporating.

After graduating high school, Will enlisted with the United States Army, serving several years with the 75th Ranger Regiment as a combat medic. He participated in multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, however in 2013 he was severely injured by an IED blast which severed his lower left leg. His appendage was replaced with a prosthesis and he was medically discharged from service, returning to civilian life. Following many months of physical and mental rehabilitation, William attended a variety of night classes, earning his Paramedic & Security Guard certifications. He has recently begun working at St. Helen's Hospital.

Likes

William is an avid fitness fanatic, an obsession that the loss of much of his left leg did little to abate. As such, he spends much of his free time jogging, lifting weights, or engaging on other exercise. Though not a sports guru, he follows NFL football and mixed martial arts. Hendrix is a self-admitted animal lover and owns a four-year-old Dutch Shepherd named Royce.

Dislikes

Will despises the exploitation of others, particularly children or others in a position of weakness. Hendrix views a person's word as near-sacrosanct and has a dim out look on those who refuse to follow through on their duties and responsibilities.

Tattoos/Piercings/Markings

William's left leg below the knee is gone, replaced by a metal-and-plastic prosthesis. Though largely unnoticeable when wearing long pants, he does walk with a slight limp from time to time.

Will has a tattoo on his left bicep depicting the crest of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Patients

Will works primarily as a security guard on most shifts. However, when the hospital is shorthanded another guard will occasionally fill in for Hendrix, allowing him to serve as an extra set of hands for any medical staff that require basic tasks carried out for any variety of patients.
