Wild/Domestic Horse Role Play [Inactive]

Chamberlain trotted through the field fenced in at the ranch. He was very merry this morning, grazing on the lush grass, still wet with mildew. Every bite he swallowed was like the most fabulous dessert one could ask for. He couldn't help the extra jig in his step. His day was starting off great.

Honey Bee

Bee felt the familiar excitement that flooded her body in the morning. She had been confined to a stall for the night for she was quite the wanderer at night. Now she was forced to wait for her first joyous romp of the day.Nickers resounded in the aisle of the barn on which she was kept as a young woman approached her stall. It was difficult for the blue roan mare to keep still as her lead was attached to her halter, and she pranced anxiously in place when the stall door was opened.Bee strained at the end of the lead as she was led to the pastures and released into the fenced in area.

Cantering, the white mare flew past the wooden double jump, before slowing down to a fast passed trot as the stocky mare slid down the slip hill accompanied with the jump. As soon as she reached the end, the mare resumed her previous gallop, her hooves clacking sharply as they hit the small pool, who's base was made from concrete. Clear water droplets clung to the sweating flanks of the light colored mare as she continued to gallop. Clearing a few more jumps, she reached the finish line. Head up, the mare trotted down the field majestically, her knees pulled up as she trotted.

"Coming in first place is Hidden Shadows!" The announcer concluded at the end of the race.

The gypsy vanner mare's head bobbed up as she woke up from her daydream of the past. Shadow walked up to the stall's open top half of the door and stuck her head out, nickering to the woman leading some of the horses out. She knocked her knees against the wooden door, making the lady laugh and come over with a lead, which she attached to her loose purple halter.

Impatiently she trotted out into the green pasture, the soft grass creating a pillow for Shadow's hooves as the golden sunlight reflected off of her silver dapple coat. The stocky mare missed jumping and the competitions, she could only be exercised gently now due to the fact that she was heavily pregnant with her first foal.

The ranch had decided to retire the mare and make her serve as a brood mare to pass on her champion bloodlines. The mare had hated everything along the way, the bulky stomach, the extra weight, and most of all, not being able to jump or do much of anything. Yet, the mare couldn't help but look forward to the arrival.

As the two others joined Chamberlain in the field, he happily whinnied at them, shaking his head furiously with his mane whipping about before he trotted over to accompany them. He gently brushed his head along the side of theirs both as a sign of "good morning!".

The mare whinnied happily at Chamberlain. "How are you?" Shadow asked, trotting over to graze next to the stallion.

((Sorry that's not much.. But there's not much to post about..))

"Not bad. It's a beautiful morning, is it not?" Soon enough, his head dipped into the grass beside her. From this view, he could definitely see how close she was to giving birth. He made a note to keep an extra watchful eye on her until the filly arrived.

Bee acknowledged the stallion's greeting with a soft snort before beginning her jaunt along the fence. The mare could feel her hooves strike the ground as her slow trot became a rolling canter, and finally her canter becoming a hard gallop that sounded like thunder to her. Bee ducked her head lower to the ground, trying to minimize the amount of wind resistance. Her stocky body was eerily graceful as she approached the far side of the fence. Bee braced her back legs as she drew closer, feeling them slide underneath and skid across the grass. Her front legs served to keep her upright and to take the brunt of any potential impact. She slid to a stop just shy of the fence and walked so that her chest was up against it and her head was across the top.

Sometimes the thought came to her that she could leave her if she pleased, but then again she knew it wasn't possible. She was in training to be a reining horse and surely she could not stay gone for long before being returned.Bee also knew that her shared love and dependence on her people prevented her from going anywhere. She would have no idea what to do in the various situations that wild promised, and assured herself that she would not make it long away from the safety of the stables.

"What on earth are you doing, Bee??" He whinnied again, raising his head from the grass and snorting in return. He watched as she ran across the field with such grace. He knew she'd be a successful reining horse, especially with her being several years younger than him. He knew from experience what it took to make a horse magnificent, and she had it going for her.

Her attention was pulled from her thoughts back to the present."What I do every morning of course! I don't see how you don't have to run after being in the stall all night." With a swat of her tail to ward off flies,Bee began loping towards the stallion and the other mare she recognized as Hidden Shadows. As she neared she slowed into a quick trot, the gait a little rocky to her. In her training they very rarely trotted,it was either she loped, galloped,or was stopped. The mare panicked momentarily as she stumbled, but gathered herself and came to a stop near the others.

Staring enviously at the other mare who was romping around near the fence, Shadow nibbled timidly on the bland grass. Oh what she would give to go galloping. "It's a lovely morning." The stocky mare snorted at the Gypsy Vanner stallion. Finally giving into the urge, Shadow trotted over to Bee, her head held high as her main and tail streamed behind her in all its glory. Picking up the pace slightly, Shadow transitioned smoothly into a fast paced canter, the fastest pace she would be able to go at. The sound of thundering hooves and her main streaming in the wind soothed her.

He laughed in amusement at Bee's stumble after her impressive galloping only moments ago. His laugh was caught off short, however, by the disappearance of Shadows from the group. He quickly found her cantering about, terribly concerned over her ability to do so at this stage of pregnancy. He decided to gallop over, easily catching up since her pace was slower than her typical state, and stop in front of her from a good distance so she could either slow calmly or rebel from from his heading.

Veering sharply to the left to avoid crashing into the other Gyspy Stallion, the stocky mare's dark expressive eyes widened enough to show the whites. "What was that for?" She cried, once she had regained her balance. Then she hung her head in shame, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have cantered. It's just so annoying." The mare snorted, expressing both her annoyance and frustration at the situation.

"There, there. You won't be so annoyed when the filly's finally arrived. Then you can teach her how to canter!" he encouraged her, brushing his head against her neck again to comfort her.

"Thanks," She said to the stallion, Chamberlain. Ducking her head down, she began grazing, her legs stretched now from her previous canter.
