Biography :

Addam Osgrey was born in the year 183 AC placing him at 12 years old during The Blackfyre Rebellion. He was the third and youngest son of Ser Eustace Osgrey. Prior to the war, he was a Page and then a Squire for Lord Wyman Webber of Coldmoat. He fell in love with Lord Webber’s daughter, Rohanne. His father attempted a betrothal between the two, but Lord Wyman refused, instead insisting on a betrothal more suited to his political interests. Addam was then recalled to Standfast where he served as his father’s squire on the field of battle. During the battle of Redgrass Field, Addam along with his elder brother, Ser Harrold, found themselves cut off from the rest of the army by an incursion of knights in service to House Smallwood. Though severely outmatched, Addam successfully held his ground and stood watch over his brother’s body, never leaving his side until reinforcements arrived.

Ser Harrold died at the battle of the Redgrass Field. But despite a grievous head injury, two wounds by spear thrusts, and a busted leg, Addam survived. Thanks to his injuries, Addam never saw combat again for the duration of the war, but his bravery and determination nevertheless earned him the moniker of “The Stalking Lion”, a name he greets with some embarrassment and mingled pride. Following the Conclusion of the Blackfyre Rebellion, his eldest brother, Ser Edwyn Osgrey was called upon by Daemon Blackfyre to serve in his Kingsguard. With both of his eldest brothers unable to serve as Lord, young Addam became heir of Standfast and then Coldmoat as the Webber’s were stripped of their title. Due to his fondness for the family, Addam once more begged his father to extend the offer of betrothal for Rohanne’s hand (as her father and husband perished during the battle). His offer was refused and Rohanne married another.

Addam spent several years afterwards learning to rule and recovering from his injuries sustained during the war. His responsibilities grew as the Reach divided itself into three and left their lands and holdings nearly tripled from what they were before. Several marriage proposals were offered, but Addam, despite his father’s caution, politely refused them all as his eyes were still set upon Rohanne Webber. Finally, after her fourth ill-fated marriage fell through because of the Spring Sickness, Addam’s proposal was finally accepted and they married in the year 210 AC. Later that year, his sister, Alysanne, perished due to the Spring Sickness on her way back from visiting their brother Ser Edwyn in King’s Landing.

At first, Addam and his new wife were quite happy together. Following the birth of their second child, however, the cracks in their marriage began to show. Childish bickering became bitter arguments, and arguments turned into fights. Love between the two diminished to the point where Addam was forced to wonder where the Rohanne Webber he thought he loved ever existed at all. Things came to a head in 225 AC after the Castle’s maester discovered a plot between Lady Rohanne and a new lover to poison Lord Addam. The commoner was put to the sword and Lady Rohanne was driven from the castle by a furious Addam and warned never to return. Their marriage was official annuled in 226 AC.

The years afterwards were quiet, lonely years for Lord Addam. Much of his time was spent cementing his position as the Marshall of the Northernmarches and bettering his relations with his neighbors. As part of this arrangement, he agreed to a political remarriage at age, 44, in which the consummation resulted in the birth of his youngest son, Alyn.
