So I've been trying to find the "Serious topics and debates" thingy again, but it doesn't seam to be there anymore. The answer to this question should be very obvious, but I wanted to be sure: Was it removed?

The Serious Topics & Debate section was removed from the site after the new system's trial period. To be blunt - Its gone with its threads being dumped into the Site Archive.
The Administration (and the Staff) has been discussing the Serious Topics forum for months. The section appeared to only have two modes: no content being posted or content being posted and users promptly reporting one another for disrespectful behavior. Eventually a solution was tried to see if we could curb the number of incidents between users within the forum by requiring people to sign up and agree to a code of conduct (basically). Those that did sign up for the forum however did not post anything into the forum.
After consulting the moderators of Discussion and others, we decided that it would be best to remove the Serious Topics discussion for the time being. Overall the community does not seem interested in having serious debates or those who do don't seem to be able to play nice.
Sorry to disappoint you. However you are free to post in Personal Discussion with opinion threads.
