Governments
Argon consists of hybridization of the Third Reich style, as well as the Roman senate. Supreme ruler of this territory is known as, Emperor.

  • Ministry/ Cabinet positions
    • Ministry of the Affairs
    • Ministry of Public Enlightenment
    • Ministry of Economics
    • Ministry of War
The ministries serve the Emperor directly. Ministers are allowed to employ and promote people within their respected fields to positions as well. The leader of each Ministry is required to report to the Emperor during a weekly cabinet meeting, however, from, there they are left to their own devices to run the department as seen fit. Death is a punishment if the position isn’t served properly or if any stench of treason is apparent

The remainder of the government is dubbed at The Consulate. There are 100 members, gender split equally to provide equal representation. Only pure races allowed to elect. Consolers meet monthly within the capital to undergo law making/ reform policies. Though this branch holds no true power compared to the Emperor, the sheer size comparison and the support of the public provide the facade of authority.

Ugravaria’s unique history sets its government body apart. Founded upon the Council of Elders, made of a mixture of all races and classes, led their people fruitfully. That is until the involvement of Argonian officials… Assassinating the Council in its entirety, the nation was left to promote their finest men and women to the position to lead.

Societies
Argon:
The capital of the empire, Essos, is the most developed and modern society of the time. Colder climates within the mountain valley typically call for furred clothing, however, must accompany it with their display of wealth through fine robes and jewelry. Men and women are equal within society, but racial differences are abruptly apparent. Those that lack purity are often targeted for racial slurs or worse. Furthermore, low purity citizens are less likely to find employment within the city, or even anything above a meager level.

Outside of the capital itself, the larger portion of Argon remains highly occupied by both military and local government officials. Cities are required to collect a monthly tax, usually, 25% of individuals pay (if they’re a laborer) making most citizens struggle to make ends meet. Furthermore, with the constant presence of the military, citizens are looking towards the other nation for shelter and freedom.

Ugravaria:
The Ugravarians pride themselves upon their level of egalitarianism for all races and genders. Worth isn’t valued by social status or race, but of character and ability…. The society, however, is much more rough around the edges compared to the developed nation of Argon. Lacking some modern technologies, most citizens live on a rudimentary level of satisfaction. Appearance varies from person to person within the region, seeing as the climates vastly shift depending on location. Light clothes and light armor typically is universal.

Mystics
Uses for Magic

Magic manifests in certain individuals at different points in their lives wither through specialized training or through a specific event that either affected an individual physically (i.e. They came into contact with an artifact) or mentally (i.e. they achieved a state of complete control/peace in their mental state. Or just standard traumatic/angering scenario)

Magic uses up Mana. If a person uses too much mana they cannot perform any more spells. Magic usage also depends on the physical and mental state of the individual. If they are emotionally unstable or are in a weak physical condition, they can cause serious and sometimes fatal injuries to themselves or at the very least to lose control of their magic and cause harm to others.

Users summon magic typically using their bodies (i.e. hands though for some more skilled users, other parts like feet or breath can be used) through some use tools such as wands and staffs to summon magic or use them as conduits to amplify their magic (This is rare though as those who have tried before, none are known to have succeeded).

Magic can allow the user to control elements such as water, earth, and fire. Elements such as metal and wood are included but are harder to control. Magic can allow for people to utilize higher level skills and techniques such as telekinesis, telepathy, and illusions. However, the higher level the magic is, the higher the risks to the user.

Users

Certain individuals with particular characteristics (race, bloodline, physical and mental state) are more likely to have the ability to utilize magic. Those of the ‘impure’ races, such as Orcs and Kalid, are more likely to be able to use magic than those of the ‘purer’ races, like humans and Elves, who are less likely to have magical abilities.

Different users are capable of using diverse types of magic. Sometimes only certain types of magic with one user but many users can utilize a few types though this depends on how skilled they are and how long they have practiced magic.

Limitations

Magic uses up power within the user (name to be determined) and once this is depleted, the user’s ability to perform magic is temporarily lost. The user’s physical and mental state also affect the use of magic as someone who isn’t of sound mind or body can’t perform with magic properly or at all id their mental or physical state is severe.

Dangers

Magic can harm the user if overused as this can result in the user’s body and mind being afflicted with issues pertaining to the specific magic used (e.g. fire magic causes burns). Incorrect or careless use of magic can also cause harm to those in the surrounding areas as the magic can cause accidents such as explosions of energy or affecting the landscape in a variety of bizarre and dangerous ways.

Magic is feared by the higher class and is deemed a ‘cursed’ trait by society. If someone is caught performing magic within higher societies (mostly situated in and around the Argon Empire) they are shunned, stripped of their status and privileges and cast out forever with their name forever stained and hated.

Origins

The source of magic comes from within the individual’s soul but it is unknown how this trait came to be. Some say it is a gift from Gods, others say an evolutionary trait. It is agreed, however, that the source of magic is internal and does not come from external sources.

There are diverse types of magic known which are divided into distinct categories:

Å Lower Earthly Elements (Fire, Lightning, Water, etc.)

Å Higher Earthly Elements (Wood, Metal, Lava/Magma, etc)

Å Mental Magics (Telepathy, Telekinesis, Mind control, Illusions, etc)

At a time before the nations of Argon and Ugravaria were in existence and the world was dominated by many smaller tribes and groups, there were those who wanted control over all without question.

However, there were many who didn’t agree with in this concept and it was known many of these individuals had magical abilities. So, to make it easier to defeat their enemies even with the disadvantage of no magic, these individuals stirred the idea of ‘purity of races’ which stated that people who used magic were cursed and would bring danger to those who lacked this trait.

This rallied enough of a following that all were divided and became the nations of Argon and Ugravaria. These nations still hold animosity towards each other to this day and each wait for the other to start the inevitable war…

Culture

Magic users don’t have a definitive class system of their own. However, they do acknowledge those who are of a higher skill level and are respectful of them. This is within communities that accept magic users, those outside these communities are typically more reclusive as a result of their exile.

Typically, highly skilled magic users will take the inexperienced under their tutelage to help them in learning and honing their magical skills. This tends to occur after an individual finds out they have magical abilities and it is known within the community, or to just one individual. The individual is then usually found by one who wishes to teach them. There is no defined time frame for when this occurs through many highly skilled users take these newly discovered users fairly soon after they are discovered. This is to prevent accidents amongst magic-based communities and result in them being discovered by magic-hating communities.
