Marigold G Slyfer

[Age]
25

[Gender]
Female

[Sexuality]
Homosexual

[Personality]
If nothing else, one can commend Marigold's spirit. Her passion for all things cannot be denied. She gazes upon all things with rose tinted glasses and eyes filled with wonder. Filled with such bubbly optimism, it's almost infectious, she's never without a smile. Such happiness gives off an uncanny vibe at times. Even in moments of sorrow or great tragedy, she is always smiling, always able to find the silver lining. Her airheadedness it to blame. It could be said that Marigold is always happy because she forgets to be said. She forgets plenty of things. It can be pathetic. Sometimes she will forget about a given task while she is engaged in it. Yet Marigold tries her hardest, her earnestness helps her break through her shortcomings. Sometimes, at least.

[Bio]
Mayhaps not a weakling from birth, but definitely a failure. Marigold was the daughter of an officer in her town's militia. Without a mother, Marigold's father was the only familial figure she had to look up to. Ever sense Marigold was cognitive enough to think into the future she knew she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps. She wanted to be a protector of the people. She would often join her father for combat practice, the fellow militia members would train with her as well as take care of her. To Marigold, they were all members of her family, they treated each other as such. Which made telling Marigold the hard truth an impossible task for the members of the militia.

The reality was, she wasn't ready for the battlefield. In training, Marigold took more hits than necessary because she would space out in the middle of combat. She showed little improvement as she forgot most of the advice others gave to her. Her only plus was that she seemed nearly invincible, taking beatings that would send grown men retreating. But that tenacity would prove meaningless in a real fight. No matter how many times this fact was subtly implied or outright stated, Marigold wouldn't accept it. She would become a protector of the people. She would become a hero.

No one could stop her, by the time she was twenty Marigold went off on her quest. A quest to find herself, her meaning and purpose. She would become better than she was. A quest to become stronger than she was. She would become a hero. At least, that was the plan. Five years later, Marigold is going just as strong despite the fact she has been met with little success.

[Skills]
Oblivious:
Maybe the only useful byproduct of Marigold's airheadedness. Marigold has the uncanny ability to move through the pain. Her tolerance is much higher than it has any right to be. Come bruise or gash, Marigold is always standing in a fight.

[Role in Party]
Frontline damage sponge

[Reason for being a Weakling]
As if she had a choice.

The warrior's spirit is wasted on Marigold. She is unable to overcome her weaknesses and such weaknesses are what keep her off the battlefield. She is unable to listen to directions, yet only makes mistakes when allowed to operate independently. Her knowledge of the blade ends at how to keep rust off it. All of her tactical plans end in ruin and she has trouble making the right calls. More than anything, Marigold doesn't know how to retreat. Which will only get a fool killed in the real world. There is potential in the woman, such a shame that it is wasted on her.

Just look at that smile!
