Lucidian is a tiefling who grew up in a court where he developed a love for intrigue and stories of old. When he got caught up in plot to kill the lord he fled and became a con artist. He found his partner in crime (and love) in a high level wizard and together they ran a very profitable inception scheme. They would sell nobleman the ability to command the sandman and dream whatever they wanted. In reality the wizard cast dream and had Lucidian enter the dream to pretend to be the god and feed some political suggestions into the desires of clients. Everything changed when the real sandman, a fay creature with godlike powers (heavily inspired by Neil Gaimans sandman) took notice. He was furious about the impersonation. He killed Lucidians partner in front of his eyes and offered Lucidian the choice to dream an eternal nightmare or become his servant. Lucidian chose the latter and was cursed so he couldn't tell the difference between dream and reality. Now he walks the earth by day and by night in search of inspiring stories his lord can turn into new dreams.

Milon was an orphan from Neverwinter who had to fend for himself from a tender young age. He joined a mercenary outfit early in life, reasoning that he had the physicality for it, and it's a better sight than living on the streets. He found out that he had a knack in living as a sword for hire, as well as spotting opportunities to make a fortune with disproportional effort on his part.

The leader of the mercenaries, however, was getting there in age. One day, he decided to retire to civilian life and disbanded his crew, leaving Milon suddenly without a semi-steady income. He wasn't overly worried, however, because he had a backup plan. You see, a year or so before his outfit disbanded, Milon had heard from a traveling scholar about a treasure hidden in Waterdeep. A treasure whom the owner lost a long time ago, and one he now knows where the last lead was. If he could obtain that treasure, he could be set for years to come, if not for the rest of his life.

Once Milon arrived in Waterdeep, he realized that he might have gotten over his head big time. For one, the city is massive, perhaps even more so than his home Neverwinter. He also knows nothing about the city's inhabitants themselves. As sure of his skills himself, he also probably couldn't tackle an adult Gold Dragon by himself.

So, Milon tried to play it cool at first, maybe get a few like-minded people first. He has no concrete plan, however, and his best effort of information gathering right now amounts to visiting the most popular inn in town.

Fenbi "Boo" Banrig grew up in a small village with little to do but cause mayhem with her peers. Growing up was easy, as she had both parents to care for her and several friends to adventure alongside. In her teens, Fenbi and her friends created a small group of mischief-makers called the Pinching Pygmies to help pass the time in their quiet village. During their stint as ruffians she earned the nickname "Boo" because, according to her friends, she could be as stealthy as a ghost. By the age of 20, Boo was among her favorite names to use.

While the Pinching Pygmies started out harmless, it grew serious when the group targeted the wrong person traveling through their village. Boo pick-pocketed a simple bracelet—or so she thought—with the intent of placing it elsewhere for the visitor to search for and find, only to be caught in the act. Unbeknownst to the Pinching Pygmies, their target was a noble and that bracelet belonged to part of his daughter's dowry, which he was delivering to a potential suitor. The noble's guards apprehended Boo and sent her for trial in his city, where she was tried and found guilty of grand theft. Her village was mortified.

It's been a couple of months since she finished serving her time and, instead of returning to her village in shame, Boo has fallen in with the wrong crowd. She does what she can to survive with a criminal record, though tries to maintain her morals.

Alma "Underfoot" Aldebaran

tumblr_oxap479SMC1utkkrgo1_r1_1280.png

Backstory: The youngest of the Aldebaran Clan, Alma spent her early years secluded deep in the Reaching Woods. Those gnomes who resided there acted as stewards of nature, tending to the flora and fauna and foraging for sustenance. Their lives were simple, in which hard labour was rewarded with great feasts and parties in the evenings. Amidst the work and play, the Aldebaran’s were a particularly devout clan, regularly praying in the evenings and conducting full-moon rituals where offerings would be presented to their deity. Being in such close commune with the environment offered extensive knowledge on plants and their medicinal properties, but knowledge on other disciplines was limited. The gnomes in her community were keen to share tidbits of information they picked up, but few had a drive to engage with the outside world.

Alma, on the other hand, had greater aspirations. While no braver than any of her relatives, she had a burning desire to learn more of the lands outside the woodlands, spurred on by the bizarre tales shared by wandering merchants who on occasion stumbled onto their burrows. While such journeys were oft deemed foolhardy, her clan had an old tradition where young gnomes may go into the world in search of the ‘Ladies of the Golden Hills’- the lost goddesses of their pantheon. So at the age of 18, Alma claimed having received a divine vision instructing her to take a pilgrimage, and for the first time set off into new lands.

After several months of travelling along the Trade Way, Alma made her way to the High Forest, having heard legends of the great Grandfather Tree and hoping she’d find what she sought in praying beneath its gnarled frame. Instead, she had a near-death encounter with a pair of gnolls, only spared from death by the timely arrival of a centaur ranger. After dispersing the carrion eaters, the centaur, named Ronan, led the frightened gnome to a small monastery nestled in the Lost Peaks. A small order of monks, their brethren hailed from across the North, and sought seclusion to study the arcane mysteries. Upon recovering from her injuries, Alma decided to join the monks, sensing the gods had led her there for a reason.

For a decade the gnome lived in those hallowed forests, honing her craft and studying every text she could get her hands on. Though the monastery itself had limited offerings, she’d employ wandering travellers to purchase books from larger settlements in exchange for potions or remedies, and so helped expand their collection considerably. During this time she was taken under the wing of Elder Corwin, a human healer with a wry humour and passion for architecture. The two developed a deep bond during their mentorship, one which came to an untimely end upon the man’s passing. His final days were spent scribbling pages of notes, attempting to complete his lifelong work- a compendium on dwarvish structures. While he’d spent his youth visiting the ruins and keeps of the great builders, never was he able to glimpse the fine craftsmenship of the fabled Waterdeep vault.

Alma was by Corwin’s side in his last moments, tearfully promising that she would see his dream realized. Once the burial rites were completed, the cleric set off once more, travelling to Waterdeep to find more clues on this architectural wonder.

1586370133097.pngDess ElleA tall, beautiful Drow woman, Dess is well kept and could pass off as a normal common girl. Maybe the whole Drow thing gets her some odd looks, but she keeps modest in her appearance and wears nothing but common clothes. Her hair is kept elegant and long and her scars are on full display, showing that she can also handle herself in a scrap or two.
BackstoryRaised in the Underdark, Dess learned to embrace her race's slave culture, and was feared and respected among the Matriarchy. Leading a small group of slave traders, she showed her prowess through physical discipline. Whereas most Drow used poisons, Dess instead simply beat them into a bloody pulp, showing no mercy. That's where the scars are from. Training. However, one day, as fate would have it, she encountered a goodly monk, who proceeded to knock out her and her entire group. He spoke of a goddess named Savras, and she has since been dedicated to learning the ways of this god and redeeming herself. This is why she has a much more happy and calm attitude than you would expect for her kind, and tries to be a gleaming example of a good Drow.

PersonalityDess is constantly in a good mood, and tries to spread the love to anyone she can. Her voice is delicate, calm and collected, and she speaks with elegance and grace. Despite this, in battle she is suddenly ferocious and merciless, and fully aware of that. Something from herself that she can't shake, she feels. Like her past is still there. She walks tall and proud, and often likes standing a little above the crowd.
