Watched Tags

So I noticed there is a new way to watch for specific tags that pop up, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it.

I think this site is using Tag Essentials, created by Daniel Hood. On the xenforo forums, someone asked how to watch a tag, and he responded, saying:


"Click on the tag you want to watch and on the ride side above the list of results there should be a link to watch the tag. It is tied to a permission."


I still see no option to watch tags when trying his solution, leading me to think that either 1) Tag Essentials hasn't been fully implemented, 2) The permission for watching tags is blocked for normal members, or 3) I'm being very blind.


Could a staff member shed some light on this?

Here I might not be getting the proper picture of the situation, but from my understanding you're conversing about the newly implemented feature that allows people to easily access which tags are present on which roleplays, and also search different tags.


Now tags can easily be searched through the use of the keyword searcher, readily avalible near the top of each page of RPN, but if you want to access a catalogue of multiple roleplays that share the same tag the easiest is to find one roleplay with the tag you want and then press it:

By pressing the tag you'll be directed to a catalogue of forums which share this very tag:

I believe OP is trying to figure out how to watch tags, similarly how you watch posts and threads. It should be possible if the forums are using Tag Essentials, but I'm not entirely sure we are using that plugin.

From my understanding Tag Essentials isn't incorperated into RPNs framework. But if it is, then that feature isn't included.

Unfortunately no. As of now, at least.

I don't believe that the tag essentials plugin is actually utilized on this site, thus it's not possible to watch tabs and receive notifications like threads. However, you can always just follow what The Creator Prime suggested or use this link: https://www.rpnation.com/tags/PUT-YOUR-TAG-HERE/ and look for the most recent post containing the tags you are looking for.
