Map~<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_03/upload_2016-3-26_17-30-22.png.588bd253dce6bb6ef70b2f1c923f3aef.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="114527" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_03/upload_2016-3-26_17-30-22.png.588bd253dce6bb6ef70b2f1c923f3aef.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Thunderclan~In peace, respectful of other Clans. In battle, fierce, courageous, and loyal. ThunderClan cats speak out for what is right and are not afraid to challenge the warrior code.

Prey~Mice, voles, squirrels, the occasional rabbit, and birds such as starlings, magpies, wood pigeons, and thrushes.

Riverclan~Contented, sleek, well fed. Long fur and glossy coats. They love beautiful things and often collect rocks, shells, and feathers for their dens. They do not fear water.

Prey~Mainly fish but also water voles, shrews, and mice.

Windclan~Fiercely loyal, tough, fast-running, and easily offended cats. They are nervous and quick to flee, due to the lack of cover on the open moor.

Prey~Mainly rabbits

Shadowclan~Battle-hungry, aggressive, ambitious, and greedy for territory. It is said that the cold wind that blows across the ShadowClan territory chills their hearts and makes them suspicious and untrusting.

Prey~Frogs, lizards, and snakes that live in ShadowClan’s boggy, peaty territory. A secret food source is the Twoleg garbage dump on the far boundary, although they have to be careful not to eat infected rats or crow-food.

Warrior Code~

-Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

-Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

-Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

-Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

-A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

-Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their

warrior name.

-A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

-The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

-After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen

before moonhigh.

-A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

-Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

-No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.

- The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.

-An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.

- A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Herbs~

Alder Bark: Bark from an alder tree is good for healing toothaches.

Blackberry Leaves: This herb is good for bee stings.

Borage Leaves: This herb is used to treat fevers. It also helps nursing queens bring up their milk supply.

Burdock Root:This herb is used to treat infections, and is especially good for rat bites.

Catmint (also called catnip): This herb is good for treating white cough and green cough.

Celandine: This herb is used to ease pain. It can also be used to treat injuries of the eyes.

Chamomile: This herb is used to calm a cat in the case of a nervous breakdown or severe shock.

Chervile: This herb is used to treat bellyache.

Chervile Root: This herb is used to keep away and treat infections.

Chickweed: This herb can be used as another treatment for green cough.

Coltsfoot: This herb can be used as another treatment for white cough. It can also be used to ease a sick cat's breathing.

Comfrey: This herb is used to put broken bone on the right path for mending.

Daisy Leaves: This herb is used to soothe aching joints.

Dandelion Leaves: This is another herb used to calm a cat in the event of a nervous breakdown or severe shock.

Dock Leaves: This herb is used to treat nettle stings. Its juices are also good for soothing sore paw pads.

Elder Leaves: This herb can be used to help treat sprains.

Feaverfew: This herb is used to cool feverish cats and treat headaches.

Nettle Leaves: This herb is used to keep down the swelling of a wound.

Nettle Seeds: This seed is used to counter the effects of weak poisons.

Oak Leaves: This herb is used to stop bleeding from a wound and to fight infection.

Parsley: This herb is used to stop the initial flow of milk in nursing queen. (After kits feed, a queen's milk still flows, and this herb is used to dry it up so it can be saved for later.)

Poppy Seeds: This seed is used to numb pain and help a cat sleep. Giving a cat more than two seeds may negatively affect their health, so be careful.

Ragwort Leaves: This is another herb used to treat aching joints.

Raspberry Leaves: This herb is used to ease pain during a queen's kitting.

Snake Root: This herb is used to counter the effects of poison.

Tansy: This herb is used to treat coughs. It can also be used to heal wounds.

Traveling Herbs: These herbs are eaten by cats before making long journeys. They keep away the pangs of hunger and give a cat strength.

Watermint: This is another herb used to treat bellyache.

Yarrow: This herb is used to make a cat vomit. This action expels poisons from the body.

Non-Herbal Medicine:

Cobwebs: Cobwebs are used to stop bleeding.

Honey: Honey is used to treat sore throats.

Mouse Bile: Mouse bile is used to make ticks release their grip on a cat.

Wild Garlic: Rolling in this herb can help to keep infection out of wounds. It is also good for rat bites.

Other Non-Herbal Treatments:

1. Gently nipping a cat's spine or poking it hard with a claw tests to see if the backbone is broken. If the subject does not feel the nip or poke, then the spine is broken. Many times a medicine cat will have to poke/nip the subject multiple times in different places to find the break.

2. Licking a cat's fur can help clean wounds, comfort/calm down a shocked or grieving cat, and warm a cat who has become very cold. (Lick the cat's fur the wrong way to do this. The last method is most often used on kits.)

3. Soaking moss in water and holding the dripping moss before a sick, injured or weak cat makes it easier for them to drink. Soaked moss can also be used to cool feverish cats.

4. Rosemary or mint can be used to lighten the death-scent of a dead cat before burial.

5. Using nectar, honey or mouse blood can make herbs sweeter and more appealing to cats--therefore making it easier to take the medicine.

6. Holding a swelling wound in cold water takes down swelling. Cats can also soothe scraped pads by soaking them in water.

7. A cat with weak or hurting muscles/bone can take part in water therapy. Have them wade in water that is not too deep or shallow, and eventually they'll get stronger.

8. Having a sick cat wail or yowl keeps their lungs and chest clear of mucus.

Taking Care of Your Herbs:

Here is how a medicine cat should keep their herbs fresh and useable.

--If any herbs are wet, leave them out in the sun until they dry.

--Gather fresh herbs when your stock gets low.

--Leave enough of the herb on the plant you use for gathering it so it can reproduce

--Check your store often and throw out old herbs or herbs that have lost their healing qualities.

Other Herbs To Keep in the Medicine Den:

Note: ONLY use these herbs for self-defense against a cat who is a danger to all the Clans, or if a cat from your own Clan asks for a quick, painless path to StarClan while on his or her deathbed.

Holly Berries: A poisonous berry. Cats die almost instantly if they are consumed. If consumption if not intentional, use yarrow to get the berries out of the cat's stomach.

Deathberries (Yew berries): A poisonous berry. Cats die almost instantly if they are consumed. If consumption is not intentional, use yarrow to get the berries out of the cat's stomach.

The forest was shady and quiet when Maplenose broke through the brambles guarding the Shadowclan's camp entrance. She blinked against the soft rain the fell down against her pelt. Looking up at the sky she exhaled quietly around the prey around her jaws. She had caught two frogs and a squirrel that had managed to find along the borders. Jaws strain around the prey that had caught.

Weaving her way through the few remaining cats the were still awake at this time. It was almost moonhigh the moon hanging in the middle of the dull sky. Strides over to the fresh-kill pile, placing the prey down onto the pile which was surrounded by some stones and leaves. Sitting down in front of the pile, rubbing eyes with paws but shaking fur out. Forcing self to show no signs of weakness. Buries nose into the pile of fresh-kill picking up a frog that was placed there a while ago. The frog was miserable looking, it was very cold and anyone could tell that it was there for quite a while. Blinks standing up and taking the little frog that was just a little bigger then my muzzle, to a small spot under a over hanging branch. Laying down in the damp, cold spot, I lower my head and start to chew at the cold, dry surface of the frog's belly.

Hummingsparrow :: Thunderclan and Windclan Border

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_03/Hummingsparrow.jpg.e87ba27822ec997bea60d32b91197fc7.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="114562" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_03/Hummingsparrow.jpg.e87ba27822ec997bea60d32b91197fc7.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Hummingsparrow's green eyes blinked out the gloomy rain drizzling from the setting above his slender head. His long legs worked against the mud soaking in his poor paws and his sandy fur became a damp muddy color.

With a glance down at his paws Humming's eyes filled with dismay at the state they were in and his dry tongue dreaded the taste of the washing he'd be giving himself when he arrived back at the camp. Humming's eyes snapped the other way to the Windclan border as a twig was snapped by the hefty weight of a nearby rabbit. The scent of the juicy prey filled Humming's nose as his paws twitched to jump after it. Alas, it was across the smaller stream that bordered Thunder clan and Wind clan territory and there would be no hunting less the foolish creature were to hop the stream and right into Hummingsparrow's awaiting, muddy paws. Of course, it seemed the rabbit had no intention of doing so as the thinned air turned into a blank silence, the lack of life in the rain almost deadly.

Having used the excuse of hunting, Hummingsparrow had gone out for a little stroll on the border of Thunder clan and Wind clan territories, simply wanting to get out of the musty camp. He knew the importance of his role there, but every other cat was already curled up in the den and snoring against the rain by now, so Humming had no worries for his patrols and food supply until dawn.

The slender cat stretched out his long legs, unsheathing his claws just to get the extra stiffness from them out as well. Thunder clan was to quiet, and Hummingsparrow was all for the recent peace between the for clans but he was getting eager for a battle, even if was just some foolish one over the spot of territory Shadow clan always attempted to grasp at or the occasional blind warrior that crossed the borders and started up a riot. His muscles ached from all of the relaxing he had done since he became deputy of Thunder clan and he had even tried to put himself in as many patrols as he could before the leader stopped him from exhausting himself. Something Humming now found hard to do.

A soft scuttling of paws disturbed Humming's thoughts as his head shot in the origin of the sound. He dropped to his paws, white underbelly brushing against the muddy dirt as he cracked open his hungry lips to get a whiff of the scent the creature gave off. Detecting the mouse, Humming kept his tail from the ground and stepped lightly, settling all of his weight into another selection of his body. When the gray mouse came into his line of vision, Hummingsparrow leaped forward and grasped the critter, catching it in his claws at just the right moment. He bent his head down swiftly and nipped the mouse's neck, killing it in an instant. The tang of the creatures blood flooded his dry tongue as he began digging a hole into the soft earth and buried the gray ball of fluff there, patting down the mud to have look more settled-like. With his first catch of prey, Humming turned and scampered away to find any other prey to hunt.

Bobtail crouched down, slinking along a copse of bushes and following a light tan pelt of a Thunderclan cat. The she-cat felt her muscles bunch with each tense step she took, a gift from her wildcat father. Blinking slowly, she watched the tom hunt both a rabbit and mouse. Bobtail's thick pelt bristled, her course whiskers flicking in his direction. She kept up with the long-legged tom's pace and blinked slowly, her eyes growing a steely complexion.

She stood up from the cover of the thorny plants, her outline against the grey and rainy sky could be seen from below.

Hummingsparrow :: Thunderclan and Windclan border

The soft rustling of leaves caught the toms attention as he flicked his head over to look at the location the sound came from. His eyes met with a Wind clan she's and Humming caught himself blinking a moment before shaking his head and continuing on his path. She couldn't do anything or accuse him of any thing, Hummingsparrow was doing nothing wrong. He was hideously close to the borders, yes, but not enough to have been called off crossing them. If his scent drifted by the morning however Wind clan might just start up the riot Hummingsparrow's paws were itching for. He wouldn't do that to his clan, and with a swift motion Hummingsparrow turned to go in a little deeper in his territory.

He was still in plain line of sight for the Wind clan she-cat, just not close enough to be to much of a threat anymore. Hummingsparrow flicked his tail softly, ears raised in an excited sort of manner as his strong paws brought him over to a mouse hole. He sniffed at it and found the mouse to hold a fresh scent. He wouldn't go digging for it, oh no. He would get his paws more dirty then they were. All Hummingsparrow did was note the location for later, he'd tell the evening hunting patrol to scamper around the area and hunt for some mice. This was useful for his walks, locating different hunting locations to check for if he didn't clear them out that night.

Hummingsparrow lifted a paw from the muddy ground and flicked it, sending off some of the sticky goo into the grass below his paws. His nose scrunched up at the sight of his sleek fur- now matted down and darkened from the mud. He shook his head expertly and turned around to scamper away again, forgetting all about the Wind clan she-cat from before.

She looked after the tom, her eyes narrowed against the light rain and mist hanging over the terrain. Feeling he was far enough away, Bobtail lifted her head and sniffed the air, opening her mouth slightly to allow the scents of the moor wash over her tongue. She padded slowly down the hill and followed the prey scent back to the hole the tom had buried it in.

She looked around quickly, making sure no Thunder nor Riverclan cat was around. Using her unusually long claws and powerful forepaws, she quickly dug up the mouse and picked it up, curling her lip slightly at the taste of dirt in her mouth. Shaking her pelt of the light moisture that was clinging to her thick coat she made her way back up the slope and headed back to camp.

Darkstep was curled under a spiky bush in the Shadowclan camp, looking through narrowed eyes at some small kits chasing the light rain drops. Flicking his tail in annoyance he rose and ducked from under the bush, walking a few steps into the open camp. Shaking out his dark fur the tom sat, gazing up at the grey clouds above. Licking his whiskers he watched once of the clan females walk over and take something from the killpile. He flicked her ear and once she left, he too got up and walked over. He moved away the wet pieces on the top and picked up a dry and fairly warm lizard from the middle. Padding back to the bush he slinked under it and curled up, tucking into the muscly reptile.

The frog wasn't the best, but Maplenose was still greatful to have at least something in her stomach. Licking her jaws clean from some bits of meat and blood on her muzzle, she started it claw at the dirt under her. Burying the remaining scraps of her meal, stand up she ducked out of small shelter and looked around the camp.

Ears draw up slightly and looks up at the sky seeing that the moon was trying to peak through the heavy clouds. Huffing quietly, she stretches out her aching paws. Had a busy day, a few hunting patrols, one with others two by herself. One patrol that was longer then expected because of a apprentice who decided it was a great idea to go prancing into some brambles and got his pelt tangled up in the thorns. Flicks tail growling quietly to self when remembers the wailing apprentice from having at least five or six thorns in his fur.

Maplenose blinks and turns her head back to the camp, looking around it notices nothing is probably going to be happening in a while. Ear twitches and turns to the camp entrance. Ducking out of the camp and padding to the borders to patrol along it. Sniffing quietly along the path for any prey scents as well.

Darkstep finished his prey a few moments later, licking his muzzle and wiping a paw several times over his whiskers to clean them. Getting up, he left the bones under the bush and looked around camp again, seeing the sky darken. He got up and saw the same female leaving the camp, her brown bushy tail sweeping out of the camp entrance. He narrowed his eyes. Darkstep was never one to get into another cat's business, but it seemed strange that a cat would head out at this hour, especially without telling the deputy or leader first. So, flicking his tail, Darkstep looked around camp and quickly crept out after her.

@chewy91

Maplenose walked through the forest, her sleek pelt mixing very well with her surrounding. Tail sways up and down slowly as nears the border. She gives it a small sniff before blinking and turning away from the border. Ears goes up hearing a few paw steps near. Blinking and looking around the forest giving the forest a small sniff and catching the scent of another Shadowclan cat. Growling quietly to herself she walked over to some branches making a circle so was behind this cat now. Goes over to the cat on quiet paws, ducking down into some bushes and watching him for a moment. Growls softly, leaping from the bushes and barreling into the cat's side. Pushing him hard to ground with weight, I pin him down roughly with my claws against his shoulders. Glares down at the cat, my eyes challenging, "Why are you following me?" I spat at the cat under.

Darkstep had followed her for a few minutes, before he suddenly lost sight of her. He looked around, his backfur beginning to rise in fear when suddenly he felt himself knocked off his paws and pinned to the ground. Shadowclan scent washed over him and he looked up to see the she-cat he was following. He recognized her as Maplenose, but he had only ever rarely seen her around camp. He hissed, shoving her off with his front paws and jumping up, starting to circle around her with his tail held high in the air. "Why are you out here?" He snarled his own question, ignoring her's.

Head follows him so stares that the cat darkly, my eyes blazing in anger while glares at his dark figure, "I don't have to answer your questions if you wont answer mine," I mutter. Lifting head up and tasting the air to see if there were any other cats deciding to sneak out and watch me too. I turn my attention back to him not finding any other scents except for the two of theirs. I sit down from where stood, waiting for an answer to my previous question. Curling tail around paws, the tip twitching uneasily.

Darkstep continued to circle around her where she sat. His multicolored eyes could be seen glowing faintly in the darkness, his pelt bristling. "I followed you out here to see what you were up to. You'd better hope (Shadowclan leader's name) doesn't come out here, or you'll be in deep mousedung."

Flicking his tail, he continued pacing, slower this time, his lips pulled up in a snarl.

@chewy91

Ear twitches as watches the cat pace, " I came to patrol the borders, and hunt. Even the leader knows that I like to be by myself when patrolling," Stands back up shaking out long fur and looking at the warrior. Tail quivers about when sees him snarling at, growling back harder, showing my sharp teeth at the Tom. My ears against my head to show how frustrated I was with him. Before anything else happened that might set off. I walk away through the way I came when I jumped him. Walking back to the borders and walking along them. My fur fluffing up when a monster drives by on the thunderpath. Watching it disappear in the distance I shake out my fluffed fur and proceeding to walk along the path.

He blinked slowly, watching her walk away without another word. His brows knitting together in suspicion, he continued after her, making no effort to stay silent or hide his presence.

@chewy91

Tail quivers when he follows after, knowing that he would probably follow but half heartedly hoping he would give up and go back to camp. Turns to look over my shoulder at the tom every so often, after awhile when finishes patrolling along the thunderpath I turn to him and growl hard, "Alright I'm done, time for the you to go back to camp. Or do you want to follow me around more while I hunt?" Mutters hard.

@Carl Poppa

Darkstep followed her in silence, glaring hard at her everytime she looked back at him. Once she turned around and told him she was done, he flexed his claws into the soft, marshy soil underpaw and padded past her. "I'm not gonna follow you, but I am going to hunt." Flicking his tail and 'accidentally' wacking her in the face with it, he crept silently past a bush and into the marsh.

@chewy91

Jaytuft sighed past the bundle of herbs in her mouth, placing them down on a dry, flat rock in the medicine den. Her den had a sandy floor, with several flat rocks spread around the walls of the den which was holly bushes. Shaking out her long, fluffy grey pelt, Jaytuft walked out of the stuffy den and out into the cool night air of the Riverclan camp. She sniffed deeply, taking in the nearby scent of the river.

May as well go for a walk, its a clear night after all.

With that she headed towards the riverbank and once she got there, she paused for a few moments and watched its dark and swirling current splash against the crossing stones. Blinking tiredly she turned and padded down the sandy bank slowly, her soft tail dragging along the ground.

Growls hard at the tom when gets wacked in the face with his tail. Giving it a nip when it goes near muzzle. Shakes head fur out and watches him leave with blazing eyes. Padding off in the opposite direction. Sniffing air and bounding back to where had smelt scents of frogs when was patrolling.

Goes deeper into the forest veering away from the thunderpath and going to where the scent of prey was the strongest. Looking around and sniffing the air for the prey that had smelled earlier.

By the time the forest had started stir from their slumber, had figured it was time to go back to camp. Picking up all the prey that had caught about four or five frogs and a lizard. The moon hadn't set yet but it was close to starting to ease it's way down the mountains in the distance.

Picking up my prey I bound pack in the direction of my camp, my eyes were half closed and my paws weren't sturdy being exhausted from all the work that had done that night, not taking a moment to rest from the small meal that had before going out.

As soon as I got to the camp and dropped of my prey I quickly went to the warriors' den and collapsed into my nest. Sprawling out in the nest and resting head on the cold ground. Falling into slumber almost the second I fell into the rough nest.

@Carl Poppa

At the end of the hunt, Darkstep had brought in a fair haul of a rat and two smaller lizards. Striding past the bushes surrounding the camp he padded down to the killpile and deposited his prey at the top. He gazed around the camp, hearing stirrings from several of the dens as the dark sky slowly grew to a navy color, the moon sinking lower in the sky. Shaking out his pelt, he started for the warriors den.

Shadeclaw flicked an ear, the sounds of a couple cats stirring him from his light sleep. He rose his head just in time to see a warrior called Maplenose settling down into her nest. Blinking groggily, the deputy dragged a paw over his face, clearing the sleep form his eyes.

Standing up, Shadeclaw stretched his back legs out behind him and reached out his forepaws, his shoulders giving a satisfying crack. Treading carefully around the sleeping cats, he silently left the den and blinked around at the wide camp, a single warrior was walking over to the den as well.

Narrowing his eyes, the grey tom stood a little taller and strode over to the warrior known as Darkstep. Curling his lip, he growled, "What are you doing out here? Everyone else is asleep," his tail tip flicking back and forth.

@Carl Poppa @chewy91

Groans quietly, opening eyes slowly when hears a commotion outside of the den. Opening eyes and looking outside of the den, my tired paws beg me to lay back down when I stand up and stumble out from my nest. Tripping on a cat's tail and falling onto chin, growls hard shaking out fur from dust. Leaving the grouchy cat to curse out to me while I escape the den, I look at the warrior that had challenged me outside and then at the deputy. Exhales quietly through jaws, know that if Raveneye ever heard of this would get a good clawing.

"Shadeclaw, don't be upset with him. He saw me leaving camp to go hunt and patrol but he got suspicious and followed me out," Mumbles, looking up at the deputy. Hoping that he knew that I like to be by myself especially when I wanted to go out to patrol or hunt. Glances over to the Elders' den, looking back over to Shadeclaw when hears snoring from the den.

Shadeclaw quickly turned around, hearing Maplenose's mewing. He stepped back slightly, quickly glancing from Darkstep to Maplenose before flicking an ear. "I didn't set up a night patrol." He growled, but he would let it slide. He knew the she-cat would often go out on her own, sometimes for extended periods of time.

Letting out a soft snort he looked up to the sky above, which was slowly turning a soft shade of orange. Looking back down at the two cats, he puffed out his chest importantly and huffed, "Well, I have patrols and other things to arrange, so if you'll excuse me,"

With that, Shadeclaw set off towards the leader's den and disappeared into it's entrance, hoping to get in a few quick words about the day's duties before starting on them.

@Carl Poppa @chewy91

Ear twitches and growls quietly to the deputy while he leaves the two cats, looking away and lowering tail against the ground a little bit. My eyes dull from exhaustion, knowing now would be the worst time to get any sleep when all the cats would be waking up and climbing in and out of the den. When the kits would be squealing and whispering to each other a bit to loud, and when the apprentices would be gossiping about the smallest things. I growl quietly to myself after words and starts to head to the small spot under the branch where had ate the frog awhile ago. Curling up in the spot and putting head onto paws, I look at the ground. Thinking to myself before sleep starts to wash over me again, yawning softly when falls into a light nap.
