Battle.jpg

Ju-Long’s war armor is made from steel plates forged together and then decorated with bronze. His shoulder pads are designed to look the faces of lions, while his helmet is decorated to look like the Firebird. He where s a flexible red robe under his armor, a red cloak, and the plume of his helmet is also red.

Gender: Male

Age: 40

History: Ju-Long was born the second prince of the Hong Dynasty, He had one older brother and eventually would have a younger sister. Being the second prince, he was not the primary heir, thus he was taught to rule but his studies were not as demanding as his older brothers. Instead his lessons were directed more towards military, martial arts, sword fighting, and how to use his power for battle. It was a good child hood to have and he enjoyed it to the fullest.

Ju-Long was sixteen when he marched to war for the first time. With tensions high between the Hong and another rival state war broke out and the army was assembled. Ju-Long was at the head of the army along with the best generals in the Hong. He took his army and marched on a three-year campaign against the rival state. The three-year war ended with the Hong claiming victory. The Rival state was forced to pay tribute to the Hong, give up a portion of their lands, and the oldest daughter was to marry Ju-Long and become his first wife. After the peace talks Ju-Long returned home to find both glory and sadness.

When Ju-long returned home he was awarded for his part in the war, he was granted the Moniker “The Vaillant”. Ju-Long had also paid his price for the war, during the fighting he had been wounded in his right leg and it never healed correctly. He could still fight but his leg would never be the same. He was also told of his brother’s death by illness, and then was crowned Heir of the Dynasty. Four years later his father would pass away from the same illness that claimed the older brother. With the Emperors death Ju-Long became the new Vermillion Emperor. He combined his tow tittles and since then he has been called the Valliant Vermillion Emperor.

Personality: Ju-Long’s personality is much like that over Summer. At times he is warm, friendly, caring, and happy go lucky. Other times he is vengeful, overbearing, and harsh. Those traits themselves aren’t necessarily bad but what makes them bad is his mood is completely unpredictable. One day he will be his happy self, the next day he is like a raging storm. No one knowns the signs of when his personality will change but most consider it a good thing that if he is in a good mood he will remain in that good mood for at least the rest of the day, and vice versa with the bad moods. Ju-Long is also a very proud person, although he is generally lenient with what he considers insulting of someone was to press the wrong button it would not end well for them

Abilities: Ju-long is a direct descendant of Zhu que the firebird. Thanks to having the firebirds blood he has power of fire. He is unable to create fire (Except for one ability) but he can manipulate any flames that are nearby. The only time he is ever able to create fire is when he sprouts flaming wings from his back that for a short time let him fly. Although he is no master nor is he a priest, Ju-Long is well trained in Shaolin martial arts and is a very proficient swordsman.

Equipment: A steel sword with an ornament golden firebird hilt that has been passed down in the Hong royal family since its founding and he carries with him at all time. He also carries with him the Royal seal of the Hong Dynasty.

Weaknesses: Ju-Long’s unpredictability and pride is his biggest weak point. He also received a wound to his right leg in his younger day and it never healed fully causing him to have a weakened right leg.

Other: Ju-Long keeps two guardian lions with him named Zhao and Chi.

The Hong dynasty-

Location: Southern China

Capital city: Wu- Chang

Monarch: Hong Ju-Long “The Valliant Vermilion Emperor”

Heir: Hong Mei-Ying

History: The state of Hong was founded many centuries ago, ironically it was created because of a minor dispute. When the war between demons, and gods broke out due to the actions of the Monkey King The dragons were forced to take sides. The Dragon king, white dragon, Azure Drago, and Black Dragon wanted to march to war for revenge, however The Red Dragon merely wanted to be left alone in peace. Shocked by their brother cowardice the Red Dragon was casted out of the meeting and chased back to his lands in the south. Fearful of the many enemies he had made the Red Dragon needed to gather his own forces. He went to the Humans living in southern china and gathered them together, in return for him ensuring bountiful harvest and good seasons the humans would submit to the rule of the dragon, thus the Dragon formed himself a small kingdom. The Red Dragon took human form and began his reign as the Red Dragon King.

Many years later the Azure dragon grew tired of the shared to the south and launched an attack on the Red Dragon King. The battle was long and bloody, leaving the Azure Dragon scarred and the Red Dragon King dyeing. With No heirs of his own it looked like his kingdom was going to fall, however there was one person he knew that could help him. With Full Confidence In His Friend, The Red Dragon King passed on the mantel of leadership to the Vermillion Bird, in exchange for being able to take a human form to lead the people the Bird had to give the long life span it had to the Dragon. Out of respect for his friend the Bird accepted and took on it’s human form, human life span, and began to rule the kingdom. The dragon took the long-life span of the bird and retreated underwater, he forced himself into a deep regenerative sleep in which he still slumbers.

After the Firebird died he passed down his rule, magic, and story to his eldest son. To honor both the Dragon and Firebird the son changed the name of the kingdom. He declared himself the Vermillion Emperor and declared the kingdom would now be known as the Hong Dynasty. Thus the pattern continued, with one of the emperors children inheriting the magic of the Firebird, and each Emperor claiming the title the Vermillion Emperor.

Important locations:
Wu Chang: Wu Chang is the Capital city of the Hong Dynasty. It is located towards the North-western border lands but is the most heavily protected area in the Empire. It has only been the Capitol for the last 10 years and originally was owned by the Rival state that Ju-Long defeated. After becoming Emperor, he relocated the capital and built the Vermillion Palace, a place so beautiful that it was said its, gardens could rival the beauty of heaven.

The Nanling Mountains: The Nanling mountains are a sacred place for the Hong. Its only inhabitants are a group of highly trained monks who protect and watch over the mountains. The reason the Mountains are sacred is because that is the final resting place of every Hong Emperor, and Empresses. Only the Emperor, and a select few people know the exact location of the tombs. The reason these Tombs are important is because on the night of the Summer solstice the current Emperor can communicate and speak with those dead ancestors at a secret temple located deep within the mountains.

The Vermillion Palace: Located in the Center of Wu Chang. This palace serves as the Royal family’s home, and the outskirts of it serve as a garrison for the Royal guard.

The Hall of Memories: Directly before the Throne room lies the Hall of Memories. This hall is a long hallway with Portraits of every Ruling Emperor and one Empress who had sat on the throne.

The Hidden Temple: A temple or shrine that can only be found in the Nanling mountains during the Summer solstice. It is said that on the night of the solstice you can speak with the dead ancestors, but it is also said that it is guarded by a terrifying beast that can only be defeated by own with the blood of the Firebird.

Name:
Hong Mei-Ying

Alias: Zhu Que's Wind

Gender: Female

Age: 17

History:

The Princess of Hong, Mei-Ying, was visited by suitors as early as the age of 12. Her father was "The Valiant Vermillion Emperor" and the true motivations of the disturbingly older men that always smiled at her, but greedily glanced towards the throne were quite clear to her. Some would be startled by her cold glare while others would return one in kind. Fortunately, Mei-Ying always escaped the looming threat of having her freedom given away, as she would firmly, even violently if necessary, rebuff their advances. In fact, one time Mei-Ying almost started a war between Hong and the suitor's nation.

When the affairs of the court were concluded each morning, Mei-Ying would dash off to the training grounds to receive lessons from her instructors. While she was nothing spectacular in size and strength, Mei-Ying was discovered to be extraordinarily swift. Over the years, she earned the nickname "Zhu Que's Wind", paying homage both to her father's unique ability and her own speed.

Lately, Mei-Ying has been sneaking out of the palace and city in order to explore the more rural areas. Her growing fascination of the world outside of the four walls has been very troublesome for her bodyguards, but it wouldn't be completely incorrect to say they too did not secretly enjoy the chance for fresh air.

Abilities:

Gifted with uncanny speed and agility, Mei-Ying is known as "Zhu Que's Wind". Ever since her early childhood, Mei-Ying has always been darting around from room to room, causing endless stress for her attendants. When she began learning the sword, Mei-Ying would often quick-draw before her instructor, leaving him a bit red in embarassment. As Mei-Ying got older, it was starting to become clear that this was a divine gift, most likely due to her bloodline.

In addition to her natural swiftness, Mei-Ying is an excellent dancer and martial artist in her own respect.

Equipment:

Tai Chi sword

Weaknesses:

Low stamina despite her incredible speed. Her headstrong personality that developed from years of much older suitors trying to charm her leads Mei-Ying to abandon caution in order to make a point or intimidate. Also, she absolutely cannot function around centipedes, millipedes, snakes, eels, and other rope-like, multi-legged creatures. Spiders are the exception for some reason.

Other:

Mei-Ying smiled a lot when she was younger. Nowadays, her default is an indifferent or curious glance, depending on the context. A little known fact about her is her secret desire to become a general or military figure of heroism. Of course, Mei-Ying has only ever revealed this to her closest friend, one of her attendants around her age.

Name: Monk Yueliang, or Li for short.

Alias: The Moon Blessed, or some in the villages around his monastery call the Jade Rabbit for his medicinal services.

Gender: Male

Age: 19.

History: Li isn't like most monks - he didn't choose the life of zen and peace. He was brought to the monastery as a baby by people unknown, in a beautiful white silk basket with the symbol of the moon engraved onto it. The odd thing was, however, is that the monastery is located high in Tibetan mountains - something that would be awkward to carry a baby up to (especially at night) due to the rough pathways, cold and harsh winds and staggering heights just to dump the babe off at the doorstep without so much of a sign. There were no footprints left behind, presumably blown away in the wind, and no other indication as to who the parents may be. The monks of the monastery did try, however, for a month to find anyone who may know of the child. With no results, however, the monks decided to name the child Yueliang, or 'moon', since they remember that the moon was particularly bright that night. Some of the elder monks believe him to be blessed by Chang'e herself, but of course they can't prove it. At least, however, until he got older.

Yueliang, while calm and peaceful in nature, wasn't like any of the other monks. He preferred to hunt for justice and evil in the nearby towns, instead of living a life of solitude in the monastery, often using his martial knowledge to track thieves or criminals. However, he also used his innate medicinal abilities to heal the sick and injured. Despite his young age, he was soon known as a hero amongst the towns that surrounded his monastery. As he grew to be around 14 or so, however, he noticed a mark started glowing on his head whenever the moon was out at night - a thing that clearly wasn't normal. The elder monks, however, realized this as the Blessing of the Moon and soon noticed strange abilities forming within Yueliang's chi.

As soon as Yueliang became of age, his thirst for adventure and justice soon became noticed in even the dullest of the monks, and soon enough he approached the elder monks to request for leave so that he could do what he felt he was born to do. The monks agreed, and gave him two final gifts as he left - a staff, and a large necklace. With that, Yueliang left to use his abilities and skills to help the world as he could.

Abilities: From his time as a monk, he has learnt several martial art techniques (and mastered them) as well as different weapon fighting techniques. He also has knowledge of pressure points, and uses his staff effectively to attack certain pressure points for quick disarming of weapons or even knocking criminals unconscious (never to kill, though - he never kills). He also is well versed in medicine, often creating weird and wonderful concoctions to heal almost any illness and ailment using various herbs and minerals in his work. He is naturally stealthy due to his training, and an expert in most physical aspects like strength, agility or endurance.

However, being a Moon Blessed, he gains abilities on a moonlit night. On a night, he becomes immortal and unable to be killed, and his medicinal abilities enhance tremendously. He can also be known to gain insight with Chang'e on a moonlit night, often guiding him, but it isn't always helpful as she might refuse to answer the questions simply replying with silence, or with incredibly vague answers (effectively, as much as the GM wants lel).

He can also light up various things at any time of the day with dim moonlight to guide his way in the dark. He can light up his jade staff, his necklace or even a secret glyph on his forehead or similar glyphs in his clothing.

Equipment: He owns a staff made from a simple yet durable wood, painted black, with a vague shape of a jade phoenix (Chinese phoenix, not a Western one) at the tip. Phoenixes are meant to represent femininity and good fortune, a homage to Chang'e. It doesn't seem special, but like Li the staff becomes empowered and impervious to damage at night, with the jade phoenix glowing brightly. He also owns a strange necklace made with a combination of peal and onyx. Each bead is about 7cm in diameter and is shaped in the different phases of the moon. The different parts of the necklace glow in correspondence to the phase that the moon is in at night. He uses the necklace alongside his meditation in order to commune with Chang'e.

Weaknesses: Under no circumstance is he allowed to take the life of another, or allow someone to take another's life. Even if they are the very definition of evil, he cannot take a life. And while he is powerful at night, at day he is just an ordinary man - easy picking for someone wanting to kill him for whatever reason.

Other: The necklace he always wears is actually pretty heavy - around 6 kilograms - but he doesn't seem to mind. He was told by his elders that the heavy necklace is symbolic.

Name: Ryuji Tsuchimikado

Alias: the Grand Onmyouji, King of Kansai, the One Eyed Dragon

Gender: Male

Age: 25

History: Ryuji wasn't mean to succeed his father as the Head of the Tsuchimikado Clan p, but he was promising in the art of Onmyodo from a young age. His older brother instead was meant to become the Head of the clan. The Tsuchimikado Clan are the Head Onmyouji clan of the Kansai Kingdom and served its ruler faithfully. They played a huge role in maintaining relations between humans and supernatural entities including youkai as they aren't the absurdly prejudice sort, they only slay the evil ones. The clan was just, the Lord they served was just, relations were fine, and Ryumi simply kept to his studies. He knew he wouldn't become the Head but he'd be damned if that would stop him from becoming the greatest onmyouji of his time. He pushed himself dangerously learning the art of taming and summoning shikigami at an early stage in his training compared to most. He tireless worked to perfect his use of the Wu Xing elemental manipulation. He was learning the 64 Commands by the time he was 20.

It was around this time the master the Clan served seemed to go mad and single handedly destroyed relations with the supernatural creatures. At this time his brother had succeeded his father as Head of the Tsuchimikado Clan. His brother simply followed blindly as their master crusaded against innocent creatures without reason. Eventually the creatures fought back starting a civil war that would claim too many lives, his brother's life, and Ryuji's left eye. Ryuji would take the reigns of his clan and stage a rebellion against their master deposing him and making the Tsuchimikado Clan the ruling authority of the Kansai Kingdom. While his clan worked tirelessly restabilize his kingdom, Ryuji worked tirelessly to to master the 64 Hexagrams. In doing so he would claim the title of Grand Onmyouji and become one of the most renowned on you of the age.

Abilities:
Onmyodo

This is a specific supernatural art that was born of several other supernatural arts that is practiced by the Onmyouji. It is a blend of yin-yang, wu xing, 8 trigrams, alchemy, ofuda, divination and similar supernatural arts, making Onmyodo something like a super art. The core of Onmyodo is the understanding and manipulation of the two opposing forces yin and yang. It’s original purpose was to be used against evil apparitions such a demons, yokai, and other such entities. When one becomes an Onmyouji they gain a spiritually awareness, a sort of sixth sense that allows them to sense supernatural things.

Sometimes referred to as Ofuda, Onmyouji can inscribe esoteric symbols or runes upon paper to create paper charms. These can cast simple elemental spells such a fiery explosions and solid rock walls. They are used to set up barriers and wards to keep unwanted entities away. Th are good for exorcising possessed beings and for sealing entities away. They can also be used as a form of long range communication depending on how skilled the user is with their extra sensory perception skills. The use of paper charms is common for lower class Onmyouji as middle and higher class Onmyouji can cast spells without them, they will sometimes still carry paper charms with them as a form of holding back.

Middle class Onmyouji can cast magic using the Wu Xing elemental manipulation The Five Wu Xing elements are Fire, Earth, Water, Wood, and Metal each have an element they are superior to and elements they work well with. These five elements can be manipulated in their normal forms or combined in various combinations to make new elements such as magma and acid.

High class onmyouji can use the 64 commands of the hexagrams formed by the 8 trigrams. These 64 commands can be order and used in various sequences to cast various spells. The complexity of these spells outclass the complexity of the Wu Xing elements which is why an Onmyouji able to use the 64 commands is consider high class and generally a master of the art.

PreHeavenBaGua+text.gif

pocketIChingTables.png

Onmyouji are known for being able to summon spirits known as shikigami. Shikigami have various levels of power and abilities but also require an onmyouji above or equal to their level to manage them. If an onmyouji cannot manage their Shikigami and lose control over it, the Shikigami can end up attacking its summoner.

Equipment: He carries an arsenal of Paper Charms, Shikigami vessels, and his wepaon of choice a K'rik which he changes into different weapon forms.

Weaknesses:
  • He doesn't possess super strength or durability
  • He's an onmyouji not a martil artist, a skilled practioners would easily overwhelm him in direct combat when it comes to martial arts except for bojutsu since Onmyouji train with K'riks.
  • The stronger the shikigami the harder it is to maintain control over.

She was the youngest of the liter and was raised within the Xiezhi higher royalty due to her parents being fairly old and wise amongst others of their kind. She spent most of her childhood watching the humans from above and learning how humans were such brutal creatures against each other.

She had been tasked with divining small cases until she reached puberty which was typically around the age of 300. Due to the recent outbreaks of war and hatred that plagued the humans of the East, she was ordered to go do damage control and feast on the flames of the war that spread quite often. Alias:God of Cavalry

Gender: Male

Age: 30

History: Born as the first son of the Daimyo of the Takeda, Ietsuna was taught in leading countries and soldiers. He was trained with the best possible tutors in the art of diplomacy and warfare. Nearly born in the saddle, he quickly became a skilled soldier at the head of the terrifying Takeda cavalry. With many younger siblings, Ietsuna was not guaranteed the position daimyo after his father. So rather than taking it for granted that he was the oldest, he studied and practiced every hour he could. In court life, he forced himself to smile always and take interest in the lesser nobility. Soon, every one was sure he would follow his father. At the age of sixteen, he set out with the army leading a massive campaign against the Hojo completely driving them out securing the Takeda as the sole rulers of Northern Japan. With this he secured his position as daimyo.. or so he thought.

Kudo is an old, jaded man who treads the earth slowly and with respect, seemingly in his early 60's. He will often be seen with a yellow, straw hat on top of his head and wooden or bamboo staff and it is a truly rare sight to gaze upon him without either of the accessories when he's outside of the temple. His snow-white hair is neatly gathered into a ponytail held by a red band that flows along his neck. He also has a very characteristic, white beardie.

His clothing style isn't particularly rich, but it isn't one befitting a commoner either; a man who doesn't know better would mistake Kudo for a minor noble, or some kind of retired samurai who is long done with his service. He is fond of wearing leather attire with a robe of silk on top, however, he always wears shoes and boots that are comfortable and will refuse to work with any footwear that isn't, preferring to walk barefoot in such a case. One will also spy leather straps and belts on top of his silk robe, that sometimes has other items attached to them, like a book or other accessory.

Name
: Kudo Moronaka

Alias: Master of the Golden Chi, Walker of the Resplendent Crane's Path, Faithful Monk of the Twelve Jadeite Dragons.

Gender: Male

Age: (approx.)~105 (however, thanks to extensive usage of Chi disciplines, his biological aging is lethargic and slow; biologically he's in his late 50's to early 60's and appears as such)

History: Not much is known of the early days of the Master of the Golden Chi, with only vague rumors being presented by some people of influence. Some claim that he is the son of one of the divine kami, whilst others that hold less respect for him say that he is the forgotten child of a Yomi Wan (one of the kings of the land of the dead; often a malignant spirit comparable to a powerful demon) or even Yama himself. The nobles that condemn the practice of magic often claim that he is merely an old, deluded fool who plants lies and reaps the fame that comes from them, often weaving stories that he is merely the unwanted son of a courtesan and a minor, fallen noble who is seeking an easy way to live.

Whatever the truth behind his birth, one who has met him cannot deny the fact that he is truly supernatural and a practitioner of sorcery who can formulate real miracles. Those who met him rarely deny his power and stop believing the lies spread about him, if they encountered them at all.

A common rumor holds it that he used to be a warrior in the army at some point in his early life, but he left due to unknown circumstances. Whatever the truth is behind the monk's backstory, one is for sure: he always had an affection for tea.

Abilities:
  • Good Form: As they say, in a healthy body dwells a healthy spirit. His spirit is so healthy thanks to consumption of Chi that it takes an apparent and undeniable physical toll on his body; despite being over one-hundred years old, he appears to be merely passing between his 50's and 60's. His body's condition is very good and he is still as agile and acrobatic as he was in his prime, but not quite as strong as he used to be; if forced into combat he is more of a dexterity fighter. Despite that, he can pull off jumps and climbing feats that even some young men would have trouble with.
  • Clairvoyance / Gift of Insight: Having trained and meditated his whole life, some say the old man achieved enlightenment and became one with the planet. It is very hard to fool Kudo with illusions and physical obstructions. He can easily recognize when someone's sneaking up on him and can read a person's true nature to discern whether they are a chaotic, lawful, evil, good, or in-between spirit. He also has some limited clarity of the future, as he can read a person's fortune and tap into the weave of destiny itself; discerning minor elements of a person or environment. Knowledge finds its way to this old man.
  • Educated / Experience in Life: He knows history and mythology very closely, almost intimately. He can also read and write. He appears to have experience with the minor things in life; he knows how to grow crops, but likewise has knowledge of how a noble lord should operate and go about ruling his lands. He even has some knowledge on how to go about launching a defense or attack in the military. He is also a healer without peer, capable of curing numerous diseases and even knows the basics of healing wounds. He also has some, but not extensive knowledge about handling and maintaining military equipment and armor. He can handle swords and staves, but clearly, his preferred weapons are polearms. That doesn't mean he's great at it, though.
  • Chi Disciplines: By consuming Chi from the ambient, natural environment and forging it with his spirit, he can use its inherent energy to manifest miracles and magical spells of various kind. Kudo himself wrote down numerous scrolls on the various disciplines and forged diverse schools of magic, some of which are considered forbidden. He is famed as a mystic without equal by some, and as a cheat and liar by others. He created several specific trees of magic; Shintai Arts, that focus on the physical world. Chi Arts, that focus on manipulating the essence of Chi itself. Soul Arts, that focus on more ephemeral and invisible effects. Demon Arts, the relatively safe knowledge obtained from spirits and demons that can be activated only by the ingestion of Demon Chi or Golden Chi. And lastly, the most loathed and feared; Bile Shintai Arts, the unstable knowledge of very malignant effects upon the world offered by the most corrupt of demons that can be used by ingesting only, and only Tainted Chi. Even Kudo fears to call upon the last, as Tainted Chi scars the body, mind, and soul with even a sliver of itself.
    • Golden Chi: Kudo also came in pact with the Gods and obtained the use of Golden Chi; a special kind of fuel for the soul that is much richer than either Yin and Yang-attuned Chi, and as powerful as Demon Chi. It can fuel any of the supernatural powers and comes from within Kudo himself, rather than from the environment.
Equipment:
  • Money: Made from fortune-telling, healing, or even blessing farms so their crops can grow better. People often seek his advice about the supernatural and he offers a fee to all but the most lost of souls. He knows kindness and always charges little, just enough to maintain living conditions. It should be noted that he not always charges money. Like said; he only require payment to maintain the status quo. Once he has made enough money to live for one month, he won't charge anyone he comes across or that seeks him out on their own accord.
  • Temple: The Master of Golden Chi is in possession of a small temple in the southern mountains of the province. It is kilometers away from a small village at the feet of a mountain.
    • Three servants that live in the Temple aid him in cleaning, maintaining, and other such things. Rather than being hired, they are volunteers that aid him because he helped their families in some way.
    • Several horses in the stables that can be used to carry items or people.
  • Tea: The Master of the Golden Chi has plenty of tea and collects herbal teas from all across the world. His collection contains some very rare, even supernatural teas, or ones that have very specific tastes and effects. He is proud of his collection and loves to brew, and drink tea every day.
Weaknesses:
  • Pseudo-Pacifist: Kudo definitely avoids fighting and is reluctant to kill anyone. Because he exercises supernatural powers, he believes he has to be morally superior to others and not use his superior condition to take a life. He took an oath to avoid combat at all cost and only protect himself or others when applicable, and he never kills unless there is no other way.
  • Piss Poor: He owns a small temple on a mountain, has enough money to live a life of low-to-intermediate comfort, owns a couple of horses for travel, and has three servants that do it only out of gratitude. Compared to some characters in this roleplay, this is probably not too much.
  • Probably Pathetic: For all he knows, that's all he knows. He is no martial artist, no soldier, no archer. He is a seeker of knowledge and a scribe who writes down his discoveries into both the mundane and supernatural and offers all his skills for the betterment of others, teaching those who would listen and be taught.
  • Alliterative Appeal: Sometimes, he speaks in riddles and gives no clues on how to figure them out. You've probably noticed that if you paid heed to the Weaknesses tab.
Other: He's only here to teach other, more youthful characters about stuff.

NAME:
Sun Qiaolian
ALIAS:
The stone woman
The great sage
She who equals heaven
The monkey princess of Mount Huaguo
AGE:
18
GENDER:
Female
HISTORY:
The only child of Sun Ming húa and Huang Yüzhen, Qiaolian comes from a line of fierce warriors. Legend has it her father's family is descended from Sun Wukong; the Monkey King of myth, the great sage equaling heaven born from the earth. As such they live on Mount Huaguo, Sun Wukong's birth place and protected the area and it's inhabitants with their lives. Or at least they used to when times were peaceful.
Qiaolian received three family heirlooms on her sixteenth birthday; a staff (Sun Wukong's famed staff from the legend), an antique monkey mask gifted to their family's finest warriors and a miao dao sword named "Bone cutter" from her mother's family.
994600c1d6e62335fc417bb4537d78af.jpg
Qiaolian's mask

ABILITIES:
She is a skilled fighter knowing both Kung fu and Wushu, she began training at the age of four as is tradition in her family. She is an excellent sword fighter and uses her staff to defend herself. She is ambidextrous and as such can wield both staff and sword at the same time. She was born with enhanced strength, being able to lift up to 10 tons, super speed and enhanced agility (you might even call it monkey like) According to the legend Sun Wukong could somersault half way across the world... Qiaolian has no desire to find out if she can as well.

EQUIPMENT:
  • Bone cutter: Her mother's miao dao which she keeps in a sheath tied to her hip.
  • Monkey mask: She only wears it during battle, really or when travelling at night. Otherwise it is also tied to her hip on the other side.
  • Staff: Apparently Wukong's famed staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang. It weighs 8.1 tons just like in the myth (making Qiaolian and her father some of the only people who can lift it) and is also capable of changing it's size. When not in use, Qiaolian shrinks it to the size of a needle and keeps it behind her ear.
OTHER:
Qiaolian is a free spirit. She loves animals, being in nature and sunny days. She prefers high places and loves practical jokes. She has a short temper but is overall a generally loving, humourous person. She is very loyal to her family, friends and allies. Hurt them and you're in for a world of hurt. Qiaolian is short just coming in at 5ft, she wears shoes designed to make her look taller but they only add about an inch and a half. She has a lean muscular build. Her black hair goes to her shoulder blades and is usually tied back in a high ponytail which becomes messy if she is too active. She wears her father's old changshan, slightly modified to be able to fit her more easily. It's still a bit baggy.
She becomes exhausted and hungry if she overuses her physical enhancements so she tries to use them minimally.

"I am deeply sorry, ma'am, for beating up your son and burning your garden.
I am really impulsive at times and need to learn controll."
-Lieutenant Teng Yang, reciting an apologize in a monotone voice after a fight with the local noble.

Name: Lieutenant Teng Yang
Alias: The Flame of the East, Di(Little Brother, Known to his fellow lieutenants)
Gender: Male
Age: 18
History: Many people think Teng Yang was a result of two dragons procreating, that is not true. Teng Yang was originally a rock from an active volcano that magically turned into a baby boy. Now, whether this was because of divine intervention or some sort of freak natural occurrence is anybody’s guess, no one even knows that Teng Yang came from a volcano. All anybody seems to have memory of Teng Yang, this includes Teng Yang himself, was that he showed up one day in a farming village out of nowhere.
He was then adopted by the local hermit, who was poor and had lost children himself, but gave all he had for the young Yang, including his name. But alas, the old man was, well, old, and eventually passed away when Yang was still young. Even when the old man was around, Teng was wild and angry kid, always beating up the local gang of kids, things only got worse when he did lose the old man. Teng would go by days barely eating, yet he was always filled with energy, enough to have daily tantrums and outbursts. The tantrums became worse, as Teng started to exhibit traits of magic! Worst off it was fire! Nearly burned down an entire year’s worth of crops. It was so bad the local villagers had to beg the government to send the local military forces to capture him and lock him up.
The government then sent a small force led by a young lieutenant and his friend. Their names were Zhu Zhang and Lei Bo, who were able to trick the kid into captivity instead of using force. Teng was suppose to be locked up, but the young lieutenant saw potential in the feisty boy, and with the help of Lei Bo, negotiated to have the boy placed under his watch as sort of a apprentice.
At first, things didn’t go splendidly. The boy, barely 8, was beating up soldiers left and right and generally causing trouble within the camp. Fact is, the people who suffered the most under Teng were the soldiers and other lieutenants. But Zhang was patient with the boy, and he was always cheerful about it even if he himself was taking some hits. The young lieutenant was able to train Teng, with the help of his own magical skills, into a impressive fighter, one of the more talented recruits Zhang has ever seen. But there was one problem with Teng, his temper. Though he is better today, there was one incident in which Teng set fire to the entirety of the military camp, which led to the adoption of a protocol especially for him. Luckily, Zhang was able to find a way to help channel Teng’s anger issues; through Tai-Chi and meditation, meditation came when Teng became older. Lei Bu wasn't idle during this entire thing, he helped the boy learn control, and found ways to help channel the energy, mainly through study, much to the dread of Teng.
Over the years, the two men became like father and uncle to him. Teng would rise to become a lieutenant himself and another brother-at-arms, one of the youngest in the Xiang Zhou province’s army, under the command of newly appointed General Zhang and his Strategist Lei Bo. All three would go to seem many battles in the North, both in and out of their home province of Xiang Zhou, and have garnered reputations, him specifically as “The Flame of the North” for his skills and his attitude(Though it seems to only encourage the men he fights alongside).
Abilities:
The Blaze of the Volcano~ Teng has control over and can produce fire using his body. It’s usually connected with his emotions, though through meditation and Tai-Chi, he has learned to control this ability with great skill, so much so he can even channel it through his armor and weapons without burning it all up.
Forged in Fire~ Teng is tough and strong, tough enough have a staff broken over his head without flinching. By no means immoral, it just takes a couple more stabs to take him down.
Skilled Swordsmen~ Skilled with a sword, or two, Teng can fight both in a reverse grip or in a forward grip, usually the latter.
Expert Spearmen~ The spear is where Teng excels, battering the enemy with spear like a staff or precisely stabbing the enemy through, all the while keeping his distance.
Archery~ A decent shot, but by no means a marksmen. He usually doesn't use a bow and arrow, but it’s good to know.
Cavalry~ Capable of riding horseback and fighting, he is skilled at using either sword or spear on top of a horse, whether it be on the charge or in the thick of the fighting.
Lieutenant~ Understands basic tactics and can lead a regiment of foot soldiers or a squadron of cavalry onto the field.
Martial Art~ Teng’s martial artist ability requires him to quickly dodge or block hits before giving a powerful rebuttal. He’s also pretty good at grappling the enemy or his/her weapons.
Equipment:
Iron Spear~ An iron spear, usually any iron spear suffices, normally shorter than an infantry pike.
Xīn yǔ and Yǒngqì (Heart and Courage)~ Two jian identical in every way, however each of them have two different words engraved into them. One of them has the words Xīn yǔ, the other has Yǒngqì inscribed on it.
Huo~ A magical black stallion, originally tamed by Teng himself and thought to be just a regular horse who seemed to form a strong bond with Teng. When Teng used his fire related abilities for the first time on horseback, the manes and of the Huo lit up in unison with Teng’s abilities and the rest of the horse turned red. As Teng rode, the horse left a trail of fire. It has been observed many times in battle that Teng can channel his powers through Huo, allowing the horse to also produce fire. Huo also can help Teng calm down and channel some of the power away from his rider.
x_1688ec1d.jpg
Weaknesses:
Hotheaded~ Quite literally, Teng is head strong and at times can easily get infuriated, which usually means he’s body will start to burn when he starts to become angry. It does not help that when it comes to people close to him, he may be a bit rash in his decisions.
No Direction in Life~ Teng has no family or ambitions of his own, and has never really thought about his life in the long term, causing many of his decisions to be rash and even short sighted.
Water~ He’s not allergic to it, it doesn't burn him, it just dampens his fire related abilities, usually resulting in steam and the weakening of said abilities. On the bright side, he can make a mean jacuzzi.
Short Ranged~ Teng has yet to grasp the full extent of his abilities, most of his attack dealing with his fire based abilities are either physical or have a short range.
The youngest and oldest~ Teng will never hurt either children or the elderly; it’s less problematic with children, but not for the elderly who are trying to kill him.
Other:
  • Teng practises Tai-Chi taught to him by Zhu Zhang, as well as meditation, to both calm himself down and control his emotions. Usually he practises early morning.
  • Lei Bo is teaching him in literature, art, science, history, etc, to help broaden his horizons. Though Teng finds it often boring, some of it comes in handy, and he’s not too shabby at his calligraphy.
  • Teng Yang has a soft spot for children, and great respect for the elderly.
  • The protocol when “The Flame of the North” is present in the Xiang Zhou army is to have buckets of water placed a few feet away from each other all over the campsite; so that if/when Teng starts smoking, the nearest man is responsible for dousing out Teng before things get out of hand. There’s also a few more strategies to calming Teng down, but the most effective/less painful protocol is to throw water on him
  • Side note, water actually calms him Teng down a lot.
  • Don't talk to him about facial hair, he get's really irked about it, and whatever you do don't mention how he doesn't have any.

"If we stand together and stand strong! Nothing can move us!"
-General Zhu Zhang addressing his troops before a battle

Name: General Zhu Zhang
Alias: The Smiling Dragon, The Peasant General(Slang), Da Gē(Big Brother; Known to his lieutenants)
Gender: Male
Age: 31
History: Zhu Zhang was born into the lower classes as a child, a fishermen family to be precise. From a young age, the young Zhang was taught how to traverse the rivers of the lands and how to fish for food. His family was poor, that didn’t make it a lacking or unhappy childhood, fact was Zhang had community and he was loved. He was even taught the secret art that their family possessed, it was said that long, long, long ago, when men and women of China were just forming into tribes, a dragon and human feel in love together and mated, producing a human child with the powers of a water dragon. But over the decades, the story turned into myth and legend. To this day that is what many of the elders of the Zhang family told, but even they think it is real, more of a story to tell the children. The Zhang family taught little Zhu how to use their abilities to create and manipulate water. However, along with the power, they taught the little Zhu never to abuse it for evil, and be humble, and happy, for life gives a lot of great things.
Perhaps it was that last line that inspired the young Zhang to want to see the world. At a young age he ventured out of his fishing village to travel the country. Some called him a young fool for adventuring, but it wasn't that bad. Sure, he worked all kinds of odd jobs for money and food, and there were times where Zhang would have little to eat and be sleeping under nothing. But he never lost his optimism, nor the will to keep going, to see the rest as much as he could. On his journey, he met and made an impression upon many people, learned a lot of things about life, and when he was ready he returned back to his fishing village, thinking the adventuring days were behind him.
By then he was growing out of his teenage years, but it wasn't long before another, more dangerous called for him. Zhang was conscripted into the provincial army, which needed it’s forces bolster to help counter a neighboring rebellion. So Zhang was sent off to war amongst the hundreds of foot soldiers. Even amongst the chaos, it seemed the now young man excelled, he was one of the better fighters and was able to keep the men around him together. Soon he was promoted to sergeant for his skills, but that’s where men of lower classes end in their military career. However, Zhang distinguished himself at the Battle of Titan’s Pass, in which a young strategist tactics lured the enemy into the pass where the enemy were blocked off from escape and surrounded. The distinguishing portion of that battle for Zhang was when he dragged the General of his province, who had his horse shot out from under him, to safety, before returning to his regiment, who was responsible for holding the enemy in place, and helped inspire them to stand their ground.
Such an act of bravery caught the attention of said General, who had the sergeant brought to him. What struck the General the most about this man was his optimism, even after the bloody battle, he was smiling the through the entire meeting. When asked, Zhang simply said he was doing it to keep up the spirits of the men. He was sent away, giving the general time to think, before word was sent again that he was to be bought in front of the general. The general would then promote Zhang to the rank of Lieutenant, almost unheard of for a low born to reach such a high rank. At beginning, he was given a lot of flak for his status, many of the other lieutenants were noblemen or their sons, to have a common born amongst their ranks was considered filthy. But Zhang’s optimism and friendliness still persisted, as he focused on drilling his new regiment and to better improve the way they fight in formation. Those two traits coupled with his skills at fighting helped slowly turn the opinions of those Xiang Zhou lieutenants. In the time as a lieutenant, Zhang did not just save the lives of the lieutenants, he prefered to fight side by side of them. Soon, the army’s opinion of the peasant born had turned, fact was many of the same noble borned lieutenants were now openly defending Zhang.
During his time as lieutenant, he also revealed to the world for the first time in ages his powers, which surprised a lot of people, yet that only seemed to boost his popularity amongst the Xiang Zhou army. He also met two old friends, the Governor of Xiang Zhou and the young strategist from the Battle at Titan’s pass, who happened to be his two travel buddies during his adventuring days, such a small world! The strategist would then be found at lieutenant Zhang’s side more often, as a matter of fact, the two were able to capture a sort of furious pupil for the lieutenant Zhang named Teng Yang. The pupil’s had powers not unlike Zhang, but they were opposites in their elements. Yet they were surprisingly compatible, Zhang was patient with the hothead and occasionally had to literally put out his fire, and in turn Teng learned to control himself and his powers better. When the General of the Xiang Zhou army passed away, the Governor of Xiang Zhou appointed Zhang as the new General of the Xiang Zhou army along with the his strategist friend as Zhang’s direct strategist, after consulting the his advisors and the army itself on the matter. This prompted those in the North to give Zhang the nicknames “ Fishermen General” and “Peasant General”. But unsuspectedly, Zhang loved those names, he thought it greatly captures where he came from and what he was today. THough, his men termed the phrase, “The Smiling Dragon”, for the constant smile on his face even in the face of death.
Today, he is now General Zhang leading the army of Xiang Zhou, serving under Supreme Commander “The Hawk” Feixing, his optimism always marking him out in the commander’s wartent.
Abilities:
Flow like Water~ Like water, the General will flow around the enemy, avoiding hits or deflecting them, before hitting them back harder, usually where they are weakest. He is also surprisingly flexible fighter, even in armor. General Zhang also has control over water, though it is controlled through slower movements than his normal fighting style.
Frost Breath~ A lesser known ability of his, he can breath out a frost chill so cold it can freeze opponents, though it has a short range.
The Smiling General~ A general with the heart for his men and always a cheerful smile on his face, General Zhang’s presence can inspire the men to stand their ground even against all the odds. The General’s also schooled in army and naval tactics as well as grand strategy. General Zhang also likes to personally train his men, though he is strict, he always gives a lot of encouragement.
Polearm Mastery~ Master at the polearm, whether it be chopping, stabbing, or a variety of moves, General Zhang is known for being a master at using a polearm.
Skilled Swordsmen~ Skilled at using a sword, but General Zhang only unsheathes his swords when he is not using a polearm, or to inspire the troops.
Skilled Cavalrymen~ Skilled at mounted fighting, the General can ride to where he is needed on the field to inspire troops or lead a cavalry charge into the enemy formations.
Equipment:
Bō qiēgē jī(Wave Cutter)~ A guandao said to have been used to defeat a water demon, of course it’s all mythical fiction...right?
General’s Jian~ Effectively the general’s sidearm and what he wears on ceremonial occasions.
Ice Shards~ Simply a set of hidden knives the general can use as a throwing weapon.
Warhorse~ Self explanatory, a warhorse that General Zhang can ride into battle.
Weaknesses:
Peasant Born~ Being peasant born and being relatively known for being the “Peasant General”, he may be looked down by nobles.
Civilians Shall Not Be Harmed~ General Zhang has heart for civilians, especially peasants. He will go great lengths to insure civilians are protected, even at the cost of his own life.
Face, not the Brain~ Though he is schooled in strategy, he is not the brains of his army, he is the face of the army; much better at leading a unit from the front rather than from the rear.
Other:
  • Fishing and shoemaking is a hobby of his, he usually provides both fish and shoes for his men.
  • During ceremonies, the General will wear a General cape, but he usually does not wear due to ease of movement
  • General Zhang is known for singing or whistling folk songs while he is idole, if men are around they will most likely join in
  • Teng Yang is General Zhang’s pupil.
  • A practice at Tai-Chi and meditation, methods taught to him by his grandfather.

Dong Chang-ying was born into a house of minor nobles descended from a eunuch serving the 19th emperor of the Northern dynasty. He was raised to become an official, studying the entrance exams, and was unusually prodigious as a poet, essay writer, and, to his father's dismay, a fighter. Changying was an undisciplined, unruly boy, who tried to scam the peasants of his village by day and write dark, remorseful poetry by night. He received Zhang Aou Tou, the second highest level of official entrance at the age of 18, and served in the military of the Emperor, dismaying his father and relatives, who wanted a "better life" for him as a civilian court official. He was appointed cavalry commander behind the Great Wall, where he defeated a Khitan raid and was promoted to the capital district.

Changying had a key role to play in the collapse of the Northern dynasty. At the key moments of crisis, his cavalry regiment should have blocked the capital off from provincial warlords trying to depose the emperor's regent and eunuchs. They did not, fleeing into the countryside instead to put down peasant rebellions. "Chaos brings out the worst. Chaos brings out the best" said Dong after the incident. Instead of putting the peasant rebels to death, Changying convinced the prisoners to join him and take the city of Zhongyuan in the Central Plains of China, which he made his Kingdom.

He issued a proclamation, "let all those of talent serve me to serve the realm!". Changying recruited men of talent, especially those he recognized to have few or no morals. "To govern well, make sure the people do not starve or get cold, this is moral! To fight the enemy, make sure troops do not die in vain, this is moral!" Changying proclaimed, calling all those who tied themselves to the old customs of the past "useless old men needing to find meaning in their lives".

Changying rules a small sliver of land, militarily insignificant, but is surrounded by efficient bureaucrats and competent talents in the military. He outfits for opportunistic military expeditions, which he hopes will unite the Central Plains.

Abilities: Excellent cavalry fighter

Efficient writer and manager - gets sh*t done!

Silver tongued

Survival - Changying knows how to be resourceful with his environment, find food, forage, and live on the march

Equipment: Standard issue cavalry armor, short sword.

Weaknesses: Third rate fighter - combat has never been the focus of Changying's life, and has been a secondary concern at best compared to command and his vision of unifying the country. Better fighters can easily defeat him.

Ill repute - Changying is cursed in many parts of the realm as a scoundrel for his arrogance, rudeness, and open contempt for the old moral values of China, as well as his instrumental role in betraying the last effective Emperor of Northern China and helping to start the warring states period.

"Knowing a trifle of everything gives life more color."
-Lei Bo explaining the importance of learning
Name:
Strategist Lei Bo
Alias: The Rooster Strategist, The Imploding Rooster, Gē(Brother, Known to the lieutenants), Mr. Bo(Known to the troops)
Gender: Male
Age: 26
History: Many people say Lei Bo resemblance a man from history, others say he is a rebirth of said man. Regardless of what people say, Lei Bo was born to a small merchant within a relatively well off town in the province of Xiang Zhou. The boy was showed his talent at a young age, and during a series of bandit raids on his native town, it was he who believed to recognize a pattern in the way the bandits attacked. Thus, he went to the militia leader and predicted the next raid, exactly foretelling how many men would strike and from which directions. The whole garrison and town laughed at the young boy, who thought to have more experience in battle than the most hardened veteran. But as soon as the next bandit war party descended upon the town, Lei Bo words proved true. Amazed, the militia captain sent word about Lei’s skills to the nearest city, where Lei Bo was summoned by city officials. There, he skills were tested through a few battle samples, in which he solved all. Afterwards, the officials had a bit of time to discuss about the boy, even sending a message to the provincial army as well as capital, before they decided to further the boy’s education by sending him to the city’s academy.
Lei Bo excelled in his educational pursuits as a boy, even skipping up a few grades during his time there, though his physical martial skills remained a constant crawl. But as the boy grew, he became more curious about the world, especially from what he’s read from text. Then one day, he met a older fishermen boy named Zhu ZHang, who told him that he was adventuring. Lei Bo saw this as an opportunity and perhaps a break from his educations to get some hands on experience. So that night, the boy snuck out of the academy with a few belongings to meet the Zhang, and so the two set off to explore the province. They would go on to meet another boy from the city capital, who would also travel with them until the boys felt like it was time to return home.
When the boys were ready to split, they agreed that one day they would meet each other again, before parting ways, not knowing if they would ever see each other ever again on their different paths. When Lei Bo returned to academy, he found the academy had turned over every corner of the city looking for him. Although at first the teachers were upset, they realized the boy had grown a lot more wiser from his travels, and really couldn’t be that upset with him(though they did punish him with about half a year's worth of latrine duty).
Life went on until Lei Bo was of age, in which he was sent to shadow a strategist in the Xiang Zhou army as an assistant. Lei Bo shadowed the strategist for about a half a year before he was ready, proving himself at the Battle of Titan’s Pass, where he devised a strategy to lure the enemy into the Titan’s Pass before surrounding and trapping them. The general, who followed the plan up until his escape, was injured but was pulled out just in time but a brave foot soldier, in the end praised the young man for his plan, and he was elevated to status of strategist.
It was through the battle he met Zhu Zhang again, now a lieutenant despite his peasant born status. Since then, the two have been brothers-at-arms, fighting battle after battle together, and solving many local problems together as well. It was Lei Bo who devised a strategy to capture Lieutenant Zhang’s future pupil, Teng Yang, and it was Lei Bo that would also help educate Teng Yang, attempting to diverge his energy elsewhere. In this time, they also met up with their third traveling companion, now the governor of the Xiang Zhou province. It was him that appointed Zhang to command the army of Xian Zhou when the then general died, and Lei Bo to be the head strategist and second in command.
Lei Bo would go on to earn the nickname “”, and serve as the now General Zhang as the his head strategist in the Xiang Zhou provincial Army.

Name: Kenshirou Natsume

Alias: Dragon of the North, Emperor of Ambition, King of Hokkaido

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Personality: Kenshirou is an ambitious man who has taken his ambitions and used them as source of power. He has an incredibly strong willpower and a burning fighting spirit. He loves the thrill of conquest and battle which is the only time he feels truly like himself. He feels he would not be complete until he conquers everything there is to be conquered. At the same time he fears the day he would conquer everything because his ambition would crumble and then he would lose all of his power, so every step closer to his dream is every step closer to becoming normal.

History: Kenshirou rose from nothing with just his sheer ambition and the teachings of a swordsman who taught him how to wield a blade and to use his Indomitable Will. His father was a swordsmith who once crafted a high quality blade for a warrior who fought against the warlord of Hokkaido. The warrior and his allies would fail, with the warrior retiring to the village Kenshirou grew up in. Kenshirou would visit the swordsman to hear stories of his adventures as his father was well acquainted with the swordsman. The swordsman would eventually teach the aspiring boy Kenjutsu(bad pun) and even the difficult Iaijutsu originally for the purpose of the boy being able to protect himself and his family. Eventually he would come to bequeth all of his ability to use his Indomitable Will onto Kenshirou before he died. Little did he know Kenshirou would take the ability further and develop Ambition Manipulation and Subordination Manipulation.

Kenshirou now a man worked his way into the army of the warlord of Hokkaido. Through his ambition and clever machinations he would get various officers to pledge their loyalty to him for various reasons which allowed him to use his Subordination Manipulation on them. After bringing all the high quality officers and Lord's to his side he would stage a rather fast revolution against the warlord and claim Hokkaido for himself. But the Dragon of the North doesn't intend to stop there but take over not just Japan but the rest of the world.

Abilities:
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Supernatural_Swordsmanship
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Ambition_Manipulation
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Subordination_Manipulation

Equipment:
His katana Is the Natsume family sword handed down for generations made by the first Natsume swordsmith and it's name is the Reiki.

Weaknesses:
  • His power depends largely on his willpower and ambition, when these two things waver so does his power.
  • His Subordination Manipulation only works on those who pledge their service to him and therefore contracted to him. Due to the nature of it he can only afford to use this power on those in his Inner Circle or on those of significant power.
  • He is only skilled in Swordsmanship not any other martial art
  • A betrayal from one of his Subordinates immediately rips away any power he or his allies agi Ed from them serving him, also it takes away any power they gave to him. These betrayals also make his ambition and will power waver which brings us back to his first weakness.

Other: This is the real warlord and it's quite obvious that's the case.

Beneath the white mask, he is surprisingly human. Brown hair, brown eyes, a nose that looks to have been broken and poorly set numerous times. Aside from his height, being an astonishing 6'7", and the plethora of scars that suspiciously look like they were caused by claws, he would fit into just about any village.

Name: No one knows what he is, so they simply call him Zhu, mostly because of his horned mask which kind of resembles a stag.

Alias: "Widling" "Guardian of the Woods"

Gender: Male

Age: Appears to be somewhere in his twenties. Though if the tales are to be believed, he is centuries old, about the same age as the forest he "protects".

History: Legends tell of a spirit that protects the woods in the western most part of the empire. A spirit that will bargain with travelers, and can be appeased. But should you trespass, or otherwise enter his forest without permission, you will be doomed to wander, lost in those woods, long after you have passed away.

Zhu is this supposed spirit, and he has lived in those woods for as long as he can remember, whether that be twenty years or a couple thousand doesn't really bother him. But something is stirring in the world. The trees can feel it, the animals, the wind. All of nature itself can sense it. Something is coming, and it scares them. And Zhu, he sees how the animals act, and can hear the whispers of the trees. Someday soon, he will have to leave the forest, from there he does not know what will happen.

Abilities:

One with the forest: Zhu has lived in the woods for his entire life, and it's started to rub off on him. He can understand beasts, if not communicate with them, and can easily survive in the wilderness with little preparation before hand.

Animalistic: He is more of an animal then any other man. The strength of an ox, the cunning of a fox, and the speed and endurance of the wolves. He is more than a mere man physically.

Beast's presence: There seems to be an aura around him, one that makes it feel as if he were a predator, and you the potential prey. He could no doubt kill you in a heart beat, it's all just a matter of if he's hungry or not.

Feral warrior: Zhu's fighting technique is that he doesn't have one, in the traditional sense. Anything and everything is a weapon, be it a rock, a branch, or his own fists work just as well as anything else. There are no feints, and there are no punches pulled. Each strike is meant to kill, at the very least maim.

Equipment:

White Stag Mask: A white mask with antlers. Doesn't really look like a stag, but apparently the antlers are enough.

Swords, axe, and knife: None of these appear special in any way, the latter two being used for more practical tasks such as skinning animals. The only really special thing about any of this are his two swords, one being straight, double edged and of a strange design, and the other much larger and heavier than comparable swords.

Weaknesses: Zhu has lost touch with the world outside of his forest, though he doesn't really care. Money is worthless to him, laws aren't even guidelines to him, and kings are just men that wear ridiculous clothing.

He feels very uncomfortable in cities, to crowded by people. It's unnatural to have so many crammed so closely together, and there's so many people he has to keep an eye on. Often times he will act like a cornered dog and snap, literally, at anyone that gets close to him.

A trained warrior can easily figure out his uncouth style and adapt to it. If they survive the first assault and any other tricks he has up his sleeve, he only has so many.
