Fantasy VMMORPG—Azana Lore

Azana. A multi-billion dollar Virtual Reality Company. They have a wide variety of games available, but there are two on top. One is a vast mmorpg set in a medieval time scape. Live your best fantasy life there. Build up guilds.. own a house.. grow a garden.. delve dangerous dungeons.. what ever you can think- you might just be able to do it here.
The other is a dystopian sci-if world. People here struggle to live. The world is full of crime and fighting. Would you fight for peace alongside the law-enforcement, or pillage and thieve your way to glory? Parts of this world suffer from radiation and harsh storms due to some horrific incidents in its past.. people can form clans. Fight each other. Steal. Cheat. Lie. They can build up hide-outs if they’re on the bad side of the law.. or buy housing if they’re moral and just..

Both games have the same map-shape, but vastly different cities and behaviors.

Now.. what makes these games special.. is the middle-zone. The medieval game is the “past” and the dystopian is the “future”. So, what happened to the present? Well. That’s where this middle zone comes in. Players from both games can choose when they’d like to go to this middle-zone. It’s a modern-day looking place where monsters and villains from both worlds are escaping to. Players can decide to go head-head against each other in bloody pvp, or team up together to take down baddies who have joined together to form new dangerous factions.

“Who are you, and how would you like to live? Join today for your best ideal life!”

Azana developed several different types of VR equipment. They range from a helmet type device with special gloves.. to a simple attachment that one puts on the back of their neck. With the helmet you can auctually get some type of work-out, but it’s more dangerous in that you may knock stuff off shelves or get hurt in some other way. The neck-attachment simply intercepts signals and plunges the player fully into the game surroundings. No movement necessary.

Making money and banking items
Earn money the typical mmorpg way.. but the currency will be the same for the two games. "Banks" will hold what ever the players wants to deposite money wise, along with a limited number of items.. etc. items items are not transferable across games. Not yet anyway.
 
Starting out
The person chooses which game they want to play via azana lobby. People can interact with eachother while in the lobby.. it can be like a virtual hangout outside the games.

Once they choose their game and decide to make a character.. after creation.. they'll start out in a..
for fantasy we will say a field just outside the starting town.. and for sci-fi.. perhaps in an infirmary or waking up in an alley or something..
 
NPCs
Ingame NPCs are not like typical mmos. The npcs shouldn't quite feel like npcs. They'll remember interacting with player characters. NPCs are attack-able. They'll ultimately be immortal objects but they can pass out/faint once their health drops enough. If they're a shop keep or something, then their store will be momentarily closed.
