Where do superhumans come from? Why are they called Divine Envoys? How do superhumans inherit their powers? All of this will be explained!

The first traces of superhumans occurred in the late 1600s. To be more specific, in between 1680 and 1690. The exact date remains unknown, but it is known that the first traces of superhuman activity were found in that time range.

A Kormanian journalist spotted a young boy practicing fire powers in his backyard. An archer hit the bull’s eye every time at the Kormanian Olympics. Well, the true story of the first superhuman sighting remains unknown. But what is known? In the 1680-1690 range, many people swore that they saw others using special abilities. This occurred in Kormanor. People documented their sights. People wrote about it in the newspaper. But many people did not believe that they truly did exist. These “rumors” were “debunked” immediately.

Rumors they may have been then, historians believe that they indeed were true, and not rumors. Back in the 1680s, any ideas of “superhuman activity” were debunked. By 1690, the superhuman sightings stopped occurring. Modern historians believe that the superhumans decided to conceal their powers after they were spotted, and live as normal humans.

Superhumans weren’t seen again until 1729, when the Heroican Revolution occurred. Many of these superhumans teamed up with the Heroican rebels. They used their powers to create traps. They would also use them in battle. It was during the Revolution that everyone found out that superhumans existed. They were given the name “Divine Envoys.”

Wait, why “Divine Envoy”? The Heroicans believed that these Divine Envoys were sent down by a supreme being to help Heroica gain independence. The Divine Envoys were thought to be “messengers of god,” and lesser gods themselves.

After the Revolution, the Envoys went into hiding again. Many people believed that Envoys no longer existed. But actually, the majority of the Envoys went to the developing city of MegaMetro. They kept their powers secret, and swore only to use them in dire emergency.

Then, in 1916, the villain Inquiq struck. The Envoys revealed themselves, and defended the city. It was then that the Envoys decided never to go into hiding again.

Years later, the AVD kidnapped 5 heroes. They performed research on their DNA, and the way they operate. But their technology was limited, and their research wasn’t fully complete. As the AVD developed more advanced technology over the years, they also abducted more Envoys. They began to piece together every little thing about the Divine Envoys. They found out how they inherit powers. They studied their genes and DNA.

But before we talk about Envoy DNA, here’s a question: How did superhuman powers originate? Truth is, nobody knows. But historians have theories on how this occurred. The most believable and likely idea was this:

One night in the 1670s, a full moon occurred. The stars were in strange patterns that night. Many constellations were showing. And there was one shooting star. It zipped through the sky. Modern astronomers believe that this shooting star was indeed a meteorite. It crashed in Kormanor. But there was something strange about it.

The meteorite contained a spirit of a kind. Historians believe that this spirit went to the nearest house, and possessed a young child. It gave the child gifts, by altering its DNA. The child was given powers. The spirit left the child, and did the same thing to several other children- before the night ended. The spirit left Oberon. With the knowledge of the astronomers, historians have reason to believe that this how the first superhuman inherited his powers. This theory may not be true, but there is more evidence to back up this theory than there is for other predictions.

Now, what makes a superhuman a superhuman? Superhumans possess altered DNA. The alteration in their DNA gives them powers. Their genes are more complex than that of normal humans. They have stronger skeletal, muscular and immune systems. They also possess an organelle in their cells that activates their powers. These are the traits of being a superhuman.

There are two ways to inherit powers. One is inheriting powers from heredity. If two parents are both superhumans, the chance of having a child with powers is high. Their superhuman characteristics will most likely be passed down to the child. Often times, the child of two superhumans may possess a similar power, or a totally different power. Hereditary superhuman powers can skip generations too.

The second way is by random inheritance. Historians believe that the spirit who made the first superhuman returns to Oberon some times. But the time must be right. There must either be a lot of stars or a full moon on the night of a child”s birth. Historians believe that the spirit enters the body of a newborn child, and alters their DNA. This is the only way a child with no superhuman ancestors or relatives can inherit powers.

Well, there is one more way- but it has only been used once in history. Modifying one’s own DNA to give themselves powers. John Doe used an AVD genetic modifying device to grant himself possession powers. The user must have a broad knowledge of genetics and superhuman genetics, or else the modifying could go horribly wrong. After Doe was killed, the AVD sent off the modifier to a military base, never to be used again. It is the only genetic modifier in existence. This third method can work, but it can also go horribly wrong.

While historians and scientists are unsure about certain aspects of Divine Envoy history and genes, much of the information is known. But there are still pieces to the puzzle waiting to be placed. The whole story about the origins of Divine Envoys is still foggy, but one day, it will be clear.
